Unfortunately, Stoneleigh is not for me. I'm a huge sports bar fan, the food pretty much always hits the spot, but not here. I got a staple - nachos, and they did not deliver. It was severely lacking flavor, and I couldn't even finish it. I think the day I came was also some sort of performance night, so the music was so insanely loud, I couldn't talk to the people sitting right next to me. I had to suffer through some poor DJ blasting music that absolutely no one was enjoying as they were all focusing on the game playing. I know that a sports bar comes with noise. The Stoneleigh P has been around for longer than I've been alive, but due to stubborn landlords, were forced out of their location on Maple, and moved over to Lemmon Ave. I finally checked them out this past weekend, and was pleasantly surprised they kept the old school feel of the bar. It's cozier inside than it looks from the outside. A big open space that's dark and lots of TVs for sports. Also, a nice patio. Their food menu is still the old school bar food: wings, burgers, pizzas, a few desserts. I'm happy this place is still around, and a reminder to support the mom and pop places. The MOST AWFUL good & Service!!!! Was excited to try because we heard great things about it but very disappointed.. We live right around the corner and decided to try. My husband and I don't drink but, I guess everyone's taste buds are clouded by the alcohol cause the food was just awful. You would definitely have to be drunk to be able to eat here. read more

Was driving down lemmon ave a few nights ago and saw this spot and decided to give it a try. The pizza was good and i enjoyed the thin crust cut, I would give it a 7/10. Disappointed. Walked over to try for the first time yesterday during happy hour and I received a subpar burger. I went for happy hour and told them it was my first time. I said I'd go with the burger and while asking me what I wanted and implying it was a package I didn't realize they would charge for $45 for a burger and margarita. I hoped I'd found a new spot within walking distance but guess. I even called and spoke to a manager and they didn't care. Not a great experience for someone a block away trying to go to a small business after the storm vs. a chain to support. This educator won't be back. Unfortunate. Had a great time at the stoneleigh P while watching the Stars game. It was a fun time, especially with the game protected on a screen so everyone has a good view. The staff was super attentive and very friendly. Makes it feel like you're in a neighborhood pub. The food is pretty good. I especially like the buffalo wings. They're pretty juicy and big! I also had some of the hatch chile queso. It was more on the creamy side, not very thick, but I do like it that way. I wanted very badly to mark this review as a 5 (!), but a few problems prevented that, sadly. I ordered my very favorite dish today, the awesome Stoneleigh burger: 1. The burger meat was plump and correctly cooked (medium) 2. There was none of their sauce on the burger (secret sauce) 3. There was 2 slices of dried-out, wilted lettuce. 1 thin slice of tomato that you could read a book through was next, can it get worse? 4. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT (FROM THE MANAGER TO THE BARTENDER, BOTH WERE WERE SO VERY HELPFUL AND ATTENTIVE! 5. The bread-bun was very dry, not fresh at all. When I picked up the burger for my 1st bite it spit in 1/2, that wasn't good (remember the sauce that was left off the burger should would have helped this. I have been eating @ SP for I would say over 15 years (back when they were housed across the street from the SP Hotel, I tell everyone to go he and I usually recommend the SP Burger. Now, I'm not sure what to do; I think the best thing would be to give them another chance (that's how much I love this place. The prices have risen over the years, just like everything else, right? So....I'll have to limit my visits or not come (which I have no intentions of). I have left several reviews (5,3,2,3), but no one ever writes me back (not even a thank you), but that is how the world is these days. This burger is so delicious and pricey, but worth every penny when prepared the way the menu clearly states. 6. OK, I'll stop after this last "comment" because I'm only disappointed, not angry, not at all. The fries were not worth $4.50, but I had heard they were awesome and I was hungry; there were approximately 10-15 fries that were HOT and FRESH and yummy, all 10 of them. I expected more of them, just a regular "order"! I'll see you all again, promise. What do I expect?, just a great burger and fries like it always ($18.00 + tip, makes this a pricey burger that I do not have a problem paying this much for as long as I'm happy with continued great service, don't forget the sauce, how about some fresh lettuce and tomato on a fresh brown bun. First time dining here. I heard so many great things. The atmosphere is wonderful. Very laid back and casual. The people were very friendly. My server was a gem. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were not what I was expecting. I had the taco salad. It was nice, but a bit bland. The salsa wasn't as good as it should have been. The margaritas were obvious house, but not as good as other house ones I've had recently. I'm not upset, just a bit disappointed. I already loved Stoneleigh P in its old location, but I love it even more at the new location! Lucky for me, I can walk there. The staff is always on top of it and the bar food hits the spot, I already want to come back for the wings soon! It's your classic neighborhood bar. I don't even know how people are rating the food or service anything other than excellent. When you walk in you can look around and know what to expect. Drinks are a steal. Especially Sunday brunch- mimosas, screwdrivers and more for like $4. The food is bar food- go for the wings. Waitress/waiters are great. Ok quick run down first for those quickly perusing Yelp trying to make a quick(Accurate) hangry decision! Go!!!!! Great Hamburgers and strong drinks reasonably priced in a vintage building with great people running the place. This place has been around for decades. Lets just say all of the people living in Uptown werent even born when they opened. Now, its looked at as a dive. I guess it is in part but, more importantly its old school. They still have a grill behind the bar with a plastic letter marquis style menu overhead. Its worth the trip just to see that one of those is actually still standing in Dallas Texas 2021! Located in a great part of town you can count on getting a strong adult beverage to wash down your superior food. Happy hour is happening so inside is going to be loud but people watching is extraordinary. There was a company having an after hours function when I was there so it was interesting to watch in a Loud way! We stumbled into this place on the recommendation of someone checking into the Stoneleigh Hotel across the street. He said it used to be a pharmacy and that is was a Dallas institution. This, to us, was a good old fashioned neighborhood dive bar - complete with pool tables, music, a healthy mix of patrons, and just the right amount of off-putting dirty water smell wafting up from the sink under the bar. We had great service and the beers were cold. That was all we wanted. The food we saw coming out of the kitchen looked decent. Everyone we saw there seemed to be enjoying themselves. A complete Dallas institution, one of the oldest restaurants/bars owned by the same family in Dallas, I am a big fan ha ha ha , every person working there is fabulous and quickly becomes your friend always remembering how you like your drink ,it's like Cheers the TV show except set in Dallas instead of Boston. Just ate at The Stoneleigh Pea at its Lemmon Avenue location. It has a real "pub" vibe...dark, cool, mostly quiet. Still has the pool table. We were there at noon expecting a Friday crowd but hardly anyone was there ( 18 people by the time we left.). The "old" Pea, on Maple, across from the Stoneleigh Hotel was a favorite lunch place back in the day. Really good burgers. Quesadillas and Xotilla Soup with all the extras to round out your bowl. Raspberry and a mango iced tea. And the prices weren't bad. You could enjoy a satisfying meal, and get out of there for $20 with tip. So I was disappointed in the pricing being 20% more at the "new" Pea, despite portion sizes being smaller. The food was just ok. We ordered a Stoneleigh Pea burger and onion rings and a Mushroom and Spinach Quesadilla. They charged extra for the guacamole. Seriously though, lunch for 2 should not be almost $50. That said, service was friendly, fast and attentive. Parking lot was clean with ample spaces. Restrooms were clean. But for that kind of money, well lunch elsewhere from now on. read more

I am a long time customer of the P but last 2 visits I have been totally ignored. Blown off by with staff. Once was alone, once with husband...just yesterday !! No Interest in even listening to the order....I know moving their location soon but I believe already hitting the skids.
