Nice vibe, pretty good price. I was looking for a good burger today, and this place did not disappoint. If you're a fan of a sesame bun, I thought this one was quite good. The buttoned up jack was a nice juicy burger with good onions, cheese, and mushrooms. I got the side salad which was $1.50 extra and asked for caesar dressing. I thought the dressing was pretty odd - it was sorta chunky and not like other caesar dressings I've had before. Wouldn't personally recommend it. I'm not a fan of potato chips being the default side while french fries are $1.25 extra, but overall the pricing here is pretty good so I don't mind. Had brunch with some friends and enjoyed it! This place is very affordable too! Ordered the eggs my way dish, which was only $9 and very filling! Had 2 over easy eggs with 2 pieces of bacon, some toast, and some potatoes, which were really well seasoned! Our waitress was very attentive and sweet! The inside is very modern and colorful, with lots of seating: booth and bar. The outdoor patio also has lots of table seating, and it is fully covered! Bathrooms are super clean. Took us a while to try Roy G's for some reason. Really can't say I'm too sad that it did. First, the good. The server was very friendly and prompt. The patio really is a nice setting and the location is good. That particular morning, they were very clearly understaffed and I have to give credit to those working that they were trying their best. We ordered two nonalcoholic beers that day and the server came back to say they only had one. Not the end of the world, but NA beer seems to be a given on the strip, so it was a bit disappointing. The menu is pretty limited, but we both found items that sounded pretty good. Again, server was great. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, the food came out and was pretty sad looking. My frittata looked more like a flatbread. Everything was cold, and some of the ingredients didn't even match the description on the menu. I have dietary restrictions, so this created some issues, but it was edible. While their staff were great, there are other places to eat in the area that are more consistent. read more

When it did arrive, the "goldfish" size of fish was covered in lettuce. Once I removed the lettuce, it was more like a one bite meal. Ordered another glass of wine and after 12 minutes of waiting, decided to go find the server and he just handed me the glasses of wine as he was walking around the inside talking to everyone. I have never had Roy G's before despite living right by it for so long! Last Friday night, it was time to visit and see what it was about! Upon entering, you seat yourself and a server will come to you (which they did pretty quickly). The atmosphere is relaxing and reminiscent of an LGBT bar, similar to Hamburger Mary's but toned down a little. All of the drinks are pretty strong. The pink-ish one was very refreshing, while the blue one is a strong frozen lemonade. It is definitely bitter and not sweet, so be warned if you're not a fan of that! The margarita was great tasting and had a nice spicy kick to it! The cheese fries were great and priced well for a half order ($7) with a generous amount. My only critique is that their actual fries have seasoning on them, and I wish that could have been added on the cheese fries. I'd still eat them again though! Now for the best part: the burgers. What came on it was Gorgonzola cheese, onion rings, and caramelized onions; I got a beyond patty with mine and added "G sauce," which is like a chipotle mayo. This burger was amazing! I loved how crispy the patties were which I haven't experienced since eating plant-based burgers! The fries, as mentioned earlier, have great seasoning on them. I couldn't stop eating! Service was great as it always is on the strip on Cedar Springs! Overall, I am going to have to return here and get more food and drinks because everything was all priced well, not to mention it was great! Cute little bar. When we went in there was almost no one in there and the music was really quiet, which made the atmosphere awkward. We were just snacking, so we ordered soft pretzels and espresso martinis. Given that we were like 50% of the people in there, I was shocked by how long it took to get our food and drinks (and later on, our second drinks). He said okay, and didn't even seem to mind. He has glasses and seems like he's in his 20's-30's. So many tables he was serving got their drinks and food before us, and they arrived after us with more people than we had at our table. Our food came out only when he looked at us after 30 minutes and went to the kitchen. I got the grilled cheese and the soup, which were barely warm. Let me give you the run down of my experience. It's not a super busy place, luckily. It feel so comfortable to come with your friends and gosssip. That's what I did and we stayed for 3 hours. The food: Buttonup Jack - the bomb dot com. I love mushrooms and this is the burger for me. It's well made and only freaking $5!! You're crazy if you don't eat here. The fries was part of the deal too and that is seriously enough for dinner. Fried Mushroom - all I got to say is finally! I found a place that sells actual fried mushroom that taste like mushroom more than dough. It's good. $9 is plenty of mushroom. It's enough to take home and air fry for later. Winterberry - yum. Roy G's was a blast! We came here on Sunday for some mimosa fun and didn't regret it one bit. It's in Cedar Springs, a great area for the LGBT community to hangout and have fun. There's both an interior dining space and an enclosed patio area that we sat at. It was very relaxing and fun. Our server was awesome! We had some great conversations with him and he was super friendly! It also didn't take long to get our food or anything else that we needed once we asked. The mimosa tower here was so much fun!!! I haven't seen something like it before, and we had a blast using it to have a bunch of mimosas. They had several different flavors, so we decided to give pineapple and cranberry a try. The food here was also delicious - I loved my caprese panini, and the Buffalo bites appetizer was also really yummy. Reasonable prices - no complaints! I had the Pigpen Omelette with breakfast potatoes. It was full of bacon, slow roasted pork AND flavor. The potatoes look like nothing special but they were hand cut, perfectly cooked and bomb. My friends both had the Biscuit Henny Benny and loved it - and why wouldn't they? Buttermilk biscuits topped with fried chicken, eggs and sausage gravy. Drool. Champagne Tower. That happened. Had some errands and got some work done this morning. Decided that I wanted a bowl of chili from Roy G's for lunch. And NOW I remember why I haven't been there in probably a year. I walked in and there were probably 4 guys at the bar eating or having a cocktail. There was one table of two men outside. I counted 4 people that were working the bar and front of the house. One actually smiled at me as he walked right past me. I waited for several minutes before I realized no one was interested in waiting on me so I got up and walked out. On a positive note, a gentleman that I'm guessing was the manager was very kind as I was leaving and thanked me for coming in. I just smiled and thanked him for having me. I had an incredible first time here! The space has seats at the bar top, tables and booths inside, and plenty of room on the patio. There were also screens all around playing various shows/movies. Cheese fries were delicious! The only thing I'd like to see is better distribution of toppings. One side had the bacon, the other had the green onions, and then fries underneath the first layer had nothing. Drinks were delicious! I typically don't like house margaritas, but the one here was fantastic. The Banana Hammock is a favorite (I tried it, but didn't order because I don't like banana). It was a nice treat! We had a Violet shot which was floral and sweet. I really liked it. The rainbow assortment of shots on the menu is creative and provides a little something for everyone. I was looking for an alternative to other brunch places that had long waits. Found this on a list of must eat brunch places in DFW and was a little skeptical at first because they don't take reservations and said they had no wait. When we arrived however there was plenty of room to choose a table inside or outside. We sut down and were almost immediately taken care of. I just stuck with coffee and water, but my girlfriend had the Brunch Punch which was very refreshing and the alcohol content wasn't overpowering. The Chilangos Benedict was delicious, the combination of the chorizo and hollandaise was just perfect. The potatoes were cooked and seasoned just right. I will be back!
