Nice vibe, pretty good price. I was looking for a good burger today, and this place did not disappoint. If you're a fan of a sesame bun, I thought this one was quite good. The buttoned up jack was a nice juicy burger with good onions, cheese, and mushrooms. I got the side salad which was $1.50 extra and asked for caesar dressing. I thought the dressing was pretty odd - it was sorta chunky and not like other caesar dressings I've had before. Wouldn't personally recommend it. I'm not a fan of potato chips being the default side while french fries are $1.25 extra, but overall the pricing here is pretty good so I don't mind. Took us a while to try Roy G's for some reason. Really can't say I'm too sad that it did. First, the good. The server was very friendly and prompt. The patio really is a nice setting and the location is good. That particular morning, they were very clearly understaffed and I have to give credit to those working that they were trying their best. We ordered two nonalcoholic beers that day and the server came back to say they only had one. Not the end of the world, but NA beer seems to be a given on the strip, so it was a bit disappointing. The menu is pretty limited, but we both found items that sounded pretty good. Again, server was great. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, the food came out and was pretty sad looking. My frittata looked more like a flatbread. Everything was cold, and some of the ingredients didn't even match the description on the menu. I have dietary restrictions, so this created some issues, but it was edible. While their staff were great, there are other places to eat in the area that are more consistent. read more

Asked about red wine and decided on the Cabernet. 5 minutes later server came back and said there was no Cabernet, so ordered the red blend. Ordered the hummus as an appetizer. Seven minutes later server came back and said there was no hummus. So, ordered the fries, which turned out to be good. For main course I ordered the fish tacos. Took 15 to get to me. When it did arrive, the "goldfish" size of fish was covered in lettuce. Once I removed the lettuce, it was more like a one bite meal. Ordered another glass of wine and after 12 minutes of waiting, decided to go find the server and he just handed me the glasses of wine as he was walking around the inside talking to everyone. Service was VERY mediocre and food was unimpressive. I've been there before and felt the same way. Was really hoping that after new ownership, something would change. Probably will not return. I have never had Roy G's before despite living right by it for so long! Last Friday night, it was time to visit and see what it was about! Upon entering, you seat yourself and a server will come to you (which they did pretty quickly). The atmosphere is relaxing and reminiscent of an LGBT bar, similar to Hamburger Mary's but toned down a little. All of the drinks are pretty strong. The pink-ish one was very refreshing, while the blue one is a strong frozen lemonade. It is definitely bitter and not sweet, so be warned if you're not a fan of that! The margarita was great tasting and had a nice spicy kick to it! The cheese fries were great and priced well for a half order ($7) with a generous amount. My only critique is that their actual fries have seasoning on them, and I wish that could have been added on the cheese fries. I'd still eat them again though! Now for the best part: the burgers. What came on it was Gorgonzola cheese, onion rings, and caramelized onions; I got a beyond patty with mine and added "G sauce," which is like a chipotle mayo. This burger was amazing! I loved how crispy the patties were which I haven't experienced since eating plant-based burgers! The fries, as mentioned earlier, have great seasoning on them. I couldn't stop eating! Service was great as it always is on the strip on Cedar Springs! Overall, I am going to have to return here and get more food and drinks because everything was all priced well, not to mention it was great! Cute little bar. When we went in there was almost no one in there and the music was really quiet, which made the atmosphere awkward. We were just snacking, so we ordered soft pretzels and espresso martinis. Given that we were like 50% of the people in there, I was shocked by how long it took to get our food and drinks (and later on, our second drinks). The waiter took our drink order for us not to get it. But all of the tables around us got their drinks. After 35 minutes, we said to cancel them because it was obvious we weren't getting them. He said okay, and didn't even seem to mind. He has glasses and seems like he's in his 20's-30's. So many tables he was serving got their drinks and food before us, and they arrived after us with more people than we had at our table. Our food came out only when he looked at us after 30 minutes and went to the kitchen. I got the grilled cheese and the soup, which were barely warm. My friend got the chicken sandwich and cheese fries, which weren't even warm. After multiple times of coming here, I expected the service I received before. I will NOT be coming back to Roy G's. Roy G's was a blast! We came here on Sunday for some mimosa fun and didn't regret it one bit. It's in Cedar Springs, a great area for the LGBT community to hangout and have fun. We had some great conversations with him and he was super friendly! It also didn't take long to get our food or anything else that we needed once we asked. The mimosa tower here was so much fun!!! I haven't seen something like it before, and we had a blast using it to have a bunch of mimosas. They had several different flavors, so we decided to give pineapple and cranberry a try. The food here was also delicious - I loved my caprese panini, and the Buffalo bites appetizer was also really yummy. Reasonable prices - no complaints! I had an incredible first time here! The space has seats at the bar top, tables and booths inside, and plenty of room on the patio. There were also screens all around playing various shows/movies. Cheese fries were delicious! The only thing I'd like to see is better distribution of toppings. One side had the bacon, the other had the green onions, and then fries underneath the first layer had nothing. Drinks were delicious! I typically don't like house margaritas, but the one here was fantastic. The Banana Hammock is a favorite (I tried it, but didn't order because I don't like banana). It was a nice treat! We had a Violet shot which was floral and sweet. I really liked it. The rainbow assortment of shots on the menu is creative and provides a little something for everyone. Had some errands and got some work done this morning. Decided that I wanted a bowl of chili from Roy G's for lunch. And NOW I remember why I haven't been there in probably a year. I walked in and there were probably 4 guys at the bar eating or having a cocktail. There was one table of two men outside. I counted 4 people that were working the bar and front of the house. One actually smiled at me as he walked right past me. I waited for several minutes before I realized no one was interested in waiting on me so I got up and walked out. On a positive note, a gentleman that I'm guessing was the manager was very kind as I was leaving and thanked me for coming in. I just smiled and thanked him for having me.
