Went to the Commons Club after passing through the hotel to meet a friend. It was decorated in a festive manner which was inviting and joyful and had lots of opportunities for pictures. We ended up grabbing some drinks and sitting in the cafe area where there were people hanging out as well as working. All the staff were very welcoming and overall I'd come back to enjoy the food.

I went on a more chill day and absolutely loved the vibe at Commons Club. It's also a coffee shop, and even though the coffee side was closed when I went (around 6), the space was still open and welcoming. We were able to sit in the coffee shop area, which is beautiful and cozy. People were studying, eating, and just enjoying the atmosphere. The ambiance is upscale yet relaxed, and the overall vibe made it such a great place to unwind. Definitely an amazing spot.

We visited on a Saturday morning for the coffee shop and had such a great experience there we decided to get some food next door. The decor and spot were just so cute! We had to wait a bit to be seated but honestly not a big deal. The server we had was great. He helped a lot and never let our waters go empty. I enjoyed the food a ton and would love to go back to try more from the menu.

We stayed at the Virgin Hotel Dallas and received the best service at the Common Club during breakfast and at the bar in the evenings. Our favorite server, Veronica, remembered us and our drink orders while providing welcoming and fun conversation. Breakfast was delicious with so much to choose from! We ordered a few late night bites to bring up to the room at the end of the night and the chicken wings were everyone's favorite.

Got to try out part of their Hulu Mid Century Modern menu tonight! Tried the "She's throwing shade" spritz and she was really good, no shade detected!! Jesse and Marvin once again serving up the best cocktails and service! So excited to make this a regular space for my happy hours!

my boyfriend was staying at an airbnb across the street so we visited for brunch. the service was so kind albeit me waiting for him for over an hour , and when i was ready to order our server was on top of it! our food was great! while i didn't love the sausage, the eggs and potatoes were on point and i'm a bit of a pancake perfectionist, so i went with the pancakes with low expectations but they were delicious! they were reminiscent of a certain pancake chain pre-covid. he wants to come every time he visits dallas now because the ambiance felt so sleek and clean, and i agree!

Food is mediocre, but the service is excellent! Ambiance & Service: Trendy, modern interior with incredibly friendly and attentive service. Our server took the initiative to split our dishes for us and even gave us lemon water to-go. 5-star service! Food: - Brekky: Pretty standard, but the aioli with the potatoes was nice. - Pecan Bourbon Waffle: A bit dry, but the cinnamon whipped cream and fruit compote were good! TL;DR: Great service, average food!

We stay at Virgin hotel sometimes for Dallas market and enjoy Commons club dinner menu. Don't recommend breakfast though. Menu is always different depending on season. Service was great and vibe is always good here. Bread with Ricotta, jalapeño honey and pistachio crumbs - 9/10 - Bread was toasted perfectly and we had to ask for more! It's so light and perfect amount of heat and this was my favorite dish of the night. Braised short rib over mash - 7/10 - short rib was so tender and yummy, but too sweet for my liking. The roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, and onion ring complimented nicely. Shrimp pasta - 8/10 - really good flavor and shrimp was juicy. Pasta had nice cheesy chewy texture.

when i visited the commons club, it was definitely a vibe. however, the food was a bit lackluster. its hard for me to give a high rating for a restaurant where the fries are the best thing on the table. nonetheless, the staff was kind and the drinks were good. i would definitely go here to have a couple of drinks and take pictures. its an absolutely beautifully decorated space. its aesthetically pleasing without the gaudiness of being overly trendy.

This was not my first time at Commons club and every time I've been here the food and the service were great! Palmer was very sweet and the manager, Joe even came by to say hello. The crispy rise is my absolute favorite thing on the menu, it's a great portion and super yummy. The steak was also perfectly cooked and with the fries it was the perfect combo. I love the ambience, it's fun and colorful but calm. I will definitely be back!

Walking back from dinner we saw a bar that was DECKED out in christmas decor and wanted to check it out! So glad we did! it's such a cool vibe with specialty cocktails on a menu strictly for the moment! Bobby one of the bartenders was so friendly and nice to our group, he explained what was happening and that it had just opened a few days before. It was a fun atmosphere with deliciously strong cocktails!!! I would go back after christmas to see what else they have to offer at this bar and the Virgin hotel itself!

The Virgin Hotel here in Dallas isn't particularly large, but the restaurant, Commons Club, is well-suited to its size. I enjoyed a late lunch featuring crispy rice salmon bites, and a cheddar bacon cheeseburger, along with some refreshing libations.

    Thanks, Justin!

I stayed at the hotel for a few days, and our party received exceptional service at the bar the entire time. Our favorite appetizers were the wings, charcuterie board and crispy rice salmon bites. We ordered room service one night and I enjoyed the steak frites and Caesar salad. Shout out to our bartender, Justin who was always checking on us and served our party with a smile.

No. But what has us coming back is their consistency and attention to detail. The space is gorgeous and each room brings a different vibe to the dining experience. We were sat in the darkest of the rooms that was very romantic, and thankfully the music wasn't too loud. When we were seated we found a frame on the table holding a message congratulations us on our anniversary, with our names included. It was very sweet! Our server was prompt, attentive, and very charming. She asked us questions about ourselves and also gave great recommendations throughout the night. The drinks were good! However, the Passionate Kiss started to taste very chemical forward the longer it sat (I'm a slow drinker) so I only finished half of it. Not sure if it was because of the print on the foam originally or what, but it wasn't pleasant. I got the scallops and loved them, especially since I was able to try their orzo with it that normally comes with the salmon instead. The scallops were tender and the flavor was rich and well balanced with the rest of the plate. My boyfriend loved his chops and devoured everything. He also got the Potatoes Au Gratin and couldn't get enough. They were very rich and had great flavor. I had previously seen reviews from others saying the potatoes and other dishes were bland but that was not our experience. The rolls were one of the best parts. I wish I could whip butter like that at home. Towards the end they brought us a couple of glasses of Prosecco to cheers with, and a complimentary dessert (the Samoa sundae). We also ordered the Chocolate Decadence which was incredibly good. The goal is to come back next year, and plenty of times before that as well. Thanks to the Evelyn team for such a great dinner!

Unfortunately, the food didn't quite match the experience for us. To be fair, several friends highly recommended the restaurant and spoke very highly of the food, so this may have just been an off night. Still, first impressions matter. I ordered the salmon cooked medium, but it arrived slightly overcooked. My husband requested a medium steak, but it came out medium rare in the center while somehow being medium well on the outside. The meatballs felt like they were missing something flavor-wise, though the calamari was good. The sides -- mac and cheese and loaded mashed potatoes -- were also a bit underwhelming. My daughter's lobster pasta was just okay as well. On a positive note, the service was solid and the Old Hollywood cocktail was perfection. I'm open to giving Evelyn another try because the atmosphere really is beautiful, but my husband has officially retired from future visits.

The Mansion Bar used to have a great recipe for success - proven by how busy and regular the customers were and loyal (or was), and the top tier talent that was routine for 10+ years. Me and my friends have a relationship with the long time staff as customers as well as the excellent music talent. The cause? Not precisely sure but I think it's new ownership, at the very least a new Food & Bev manager. I also know the staff is very upset about these changes and the relationships with the repeat music talent is now a mess. I wouldn't be surprise if the staff start leaving. I'm hoping whomever is making these decisions can revert back to what was working. Dallas has a lot of great venues that will fill this void.
