For years, the Kennedy Room, an elegant little cocktail bar off the side of the Old Warsaw, played host to countless conversations and martinis with friends, sat among its retro chic decor and nods to its cheeky, if not somewhat morbid, namesake. It had been a number of years since I visited, so we prioritized a stop in on our recent trip to Dallas. Although it appears that this spot has taken a somewhat more casual approach in recent years, the vibes were still there and the espresso martinis hit the spot on a cold night. Found the Kennedy room when looking for a speakeasy in the area. Maybe there is a part of the location that's closed, but I definitely wouldn't consider the part we were in a speakeasy - absolutely more of your standard bar. It was early and not busy yet so my husband and I sat at the bar. Tinah and Daisy were working that evening and we had so much fun with them! They made amazing matcha shots and fresh popped popcorn (soooo good!) to celebrate my birthday and asked us for suggestions on the music we'd like to hear. They had the game on the TV so we enjoyed watching that as we drank. As it got later more people came in and starting playing pool and other games. Fun spot! We rambled in on our way from point a to point b. Empty at first, but it filled up as people came in for a birthday celebration. Bartenders were great! But, I have to say it's a bit crowded with that pool table. We were in a booth and kept having to move out of the way so they could play without hitting our heads with the end of the pool stick. Love the Kennedy Room!!! This is my new favorite bar in Dallas. At a hidden corner, you wouldn't know it's there unless ya knew it was there. Love the music and cocktails. Bartender was such a sweet girl. I'll be going back here every time I visit Dallas. She played a mix of old school 90s-early 00s hip hop & R&B. Than played a mix of house-rock music. I'm so glad I stumbled across this neighborhood bar on accident as it truly was a pleasant, very chill place for drinks and desserts. Although it was pretty slow when I was there, the bartenders are truly what make this place so special. They are both so patient, and willing to make whatever you suggest. I like this place because it's different from the other bars in the area. The drinks are affordable and you don't have to fight with the crowd of people who visit bars based off of a "tiktok" review. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking to unwind after a hard day of work, or if you actually intend on having actual conversation that you can hear with your date! read more

Drinks and service are elite. Where I have a problem is the food. The food in my opinion is worse than a middle school cafeteria food. I ordered nachos and the nachos came back with cold cheese, bland meat, and stale chips. I am grateful that the bartender did not charge me for those or I would've give a 2 or 1 star review. Vibe is nothing like you would expect from a place called The Kennedy Room. Spanish music was playing and 2 staff members were eating at the bar top when I walked in around 7PM. Everyone was very friendly but this was not the classy whiskey/martini joint I expected to find from a bar in Uptown Dallas named after an old money man such as Kennedy. read more

We had desserts and drinks. Peach cobbler was really good and the tiramisu was a bit dry (more like a cake, missing some of the delicious layers that keep the cake moist and the coffee taste). Bathroom didn't work, it was very unpleasant and I believe it was a shared bathroom with the restaurant Old Warsaw. Our bartender was great and no wait on deserts. A very interesting place. Dallas is decidedly ( by me, arbitrarily) all about Kennedy. And this place is no exception. It's a very QUIRKY spot--a small, dark space ( with some possible outdoor space) with taxidermy, a chalkboard wall, books (?I presume about Kennedy), a lush old-timey looking bar and plush leather couches and antique upholstered high back chairs throughout. As far as the food and drink, they are not bad, with a daily (weekday) happy hour until 7:30 ( website says 6:30) with cheap wines, cocktail and beer deals. While there are no food deals, the food is very cheap ($7 burger anyone?) and my friend purchased the salmon dish which was surprisingly juicy with delicious mashed potatoes and great brussel sports. The drinks are not bad, including the house wine. Overall, a good time, with quaint, unique atmosphere, great for a quick meal or afterwork drink with friends. read more

Charismatic. Toasty. Quaint. That describes the Kennedy Room. Although it's not large enough to be worthy of a presidential press conference, it screams 'Murica with its JFK themed splendor. Facility: As others have noted, the space is small so try not to bump into your fellow bar-mate's Jackie-O or John's John bevvie. Yes, they even coined JFK era evoking names for their signature cocktails. Speaking of coins - the bar top is covered in copper Lincoln heads (read: pennies) which helps their presidential theme. Near the fire-place was a wing-back chair with JFK biographical reading material. Nice touch! Photo-op not passed up! ;-) Offerings: The bartenders were patient as we all kept them busy with all the drink orders - signature and non-signature. One bartender allowed me to snap a photo of him at work - thanks! In addition to their signature cocktails, they offer a vast selection of liquor, some beer, and some wine. At the bar they had some legit potato chips in small bowls for snacking. Also, they have food earlier in the day but I can't speak to it. Parking: I got lucky and found what might have been the last parking spot available in their parking lot (I got there around 9pm). I'm not sure where to park if there is nothing available there since most of uptown is valet. Beware of areas in the parking garage you are not allowed to park in. Great for a bar crawl stop, night cap, to grab a drink with a date to test them out, or if you're looking for a cheap spot. Had fun there, and will go back, but the selection is limited. Love the hole in the wall feeling... It's divey but in a very interesting way. Our bartender did not know what a green tea shot is, and due to language barriers we unfortunately couldn't communicate how to mix Jameson and peach schnapps properly.
