One of the best cocktail bars in Dallas. Alexandre's has no gimmicks or any fancy theme. However, if you're looking for some classic drinks made the right way then look no further. If we go out, it's inevitable my friends and I will either start or end the night here. The bartenders are always friendly, and provided they don't have a line out the door they'll always strike up a conversation. Highly recommend them for any classic or on occasion creative quality cocktails. read more

Wow! The food at this bar was AMAZING! My partner and I stopped after arriving at Dallas Love airport. I cannot eat gluten and found this place had so many gluten free options!!! Loved the nuggets and fries, and the wings were perfect! The service was fantastic. The server and cook talked to us about how they prepare the food to ensure no cross contamination. They were a complete delight! read more

I had dinner here with my bestie, who has celiac disease and is obsessed with their GF burger, before the Glass Animals concert last night and was truly BLOWN AWAY. For one, the food tastes amazing, and it's obvious that they prepare every dish thoughtfully. The chef would watch her take a bite of a dish she thought she could never have again after her diagnosis, such as fried pickles, just to see her joyous reaction. They also go above and beyond to ensure that the food is all truly gluten-free and have exceptional ratings on GF websites for a reason. In addition, I've been sober for nearly seven years, and they were super accommodating to my needs as well. Not only did they whip up a delicious, custom mocktail for me; they also let me taste test a colorful and creative ube concoction. Oh, and the tuna tartare cups pictured here are as beautiful as they are tasty. This place is full of so much love and joy that it's contagious. When I left, my spirit was lighter just from being around so much passion and positive energy. I'll definitely be back every time I visit Dallas! read more

This is a hidden jewel. It may be a small establishment, but they deliver good food, great drinks and some really great live entertainment. The chicken nuggets, roasted pablano soup, Korean fried chicken sandwich are delicious. Kitchen closes at 9:00 pm. The staff are welcoming and the service is good. Look for some great bands on Wednesdays , Thursdays and Saturdays. A real treat is Caruthers & Delaine. They rock the house. They play once a month and you won't be disappointed. Came in on a Friday and it wasn't super busy, but had some life for sure! It was nice to enjoy a classic French 75 and play some games, chat and just enjoy the night. Bartenders were super nice and they do VERY well training them to make drinks because that's one of the best French 75's i've ever had! Imho, if you're running a bar/restaurant in a walkable neighborhood, then when people come in from lunch across the street with a 'doggie bag', you *really* shouldn't have to ask them to leave. Whatever arcane restaurant rule this establishment is 'enforcing' it is out of step with with the way people live their lives in Oak Lawn. I live less than a 10 minute walk, but should I have to take my leftovers back home before I return for a beer? Seems silly and unnecessary. Never again. read more

First of all, I'm a Yelp Reviewer that only give honest reviews for real travelers. Place: good, ambience: (judge the nearby venues) it's ok compared to the choices (many fore this demographic), STAFF: either I got LUCKY or I met the owner! This woman (Kimber) is the owner (probably) or she loves what she does for a living! I am picky at my choices and she knew the menu from the back of her hands. Then I asked for a surprise... whenever anyone asks for a surprise that means "complicated customer " let's call security! She went above and beyond and really wowed me. Whenever I come back to this town again for business this is my spot. If you come to this part of town, make sure you get serviced by her, specially if you travel and appreciate customer service. We stumbled into Alexandre's during one of the notorious Cedar Springs Wine Walks before COVID turned everything upside down. Located in a strip mall, we would have never run across this place on our own. It's a cute little bar with intimate booths and a stage all in a fairly small location. In addition, they have a patio outside with both smoking and non-smoking seating. They were one of the better locations on the wine walk, so we will definitely go back for a drink or two during normal times assuming they make it through covid. Here's hoping!! read more

Dear Diary, Just read an ad on DING - no destinations I wanted to go so went to 'Cheers". Strange day so needed/wanted (can never tell the difference) to go somewhere and why not where everyone knows your name! What a fun cozy spot to kick it at! I hear they also do live music. We stopped by for a beverage on a random Wednesday night at it was pretty packed for the work week - and the staff there is super sweet and friendly. This is a great spot to stop by even if you are solo and just relax and chat at the bar. And it is in a spot that really you could blink and easily miss. But I really enjoyed it! I just had vino there but from the looks of it they could whip up a good cocktail. I will definitely be back to this dark and lovely lounge to rock out to some tunes! There's plenty of free parking in the lot too. I can dig it. read more

Wow is all I can say!!! The bar staff are phenomenal and really care about their guest in every way and make sure their satisfied and having a good time! The drinks are out of this world!!! Great place for drinks and chatting with folks. I was recently in Dallas for the first time and went to Alexandre's for my first round of drinks. I don't know anyone in Dallas, but my friendly Airbnb host recommended that I start here. I then ventured out to a few of the other bars/clubs throughout the night. The bartender, Zack is very friendly. There's also live music, but I believe it's later in the night. Very cheap well drinks too. Huge fan of Alexandre's! read more

On 12/10/2021 friends and I visited Alexandre's and were immediately greeted with disrespect. My friend sat down at the bar and immediately was told that the seat was taken by an employee and they tried to pull the stool out from under him. My friend got up without hesitation, but was awestruck by the rudeness. Turns out the person the seat was for had a disability, but that was not communicated to us. We decided to leave since the employee was so rude. As we're walking out, a different chubby employee started yelling obscenities at us and accusing us of being ableist. He yelled "You're leaving over a fucking chair because he's deaf? Fuck y'all!" We responded with "Sir, that is not the reason, but have a good night." It's no wonder that Alexandre's was pretty much empty, due to their rude and ignorant staff. read more

If you're looking for great craft cocktails, excellent selection of beer and great service this is your place. Defiantly an improvement on the neighborhood bar without losing the ambience. Fantastic mix of local characters and out of towners. Also live music I mean really good live music without a cover. This is a great dive bar! Don't let the outside steer you away. I've passed this place for over a year, and went straight down to the other main bars on Cedar Springs. Today, I finally stopped in. Wow was I blown away! The inside is really nice and well stocked with great alcohol. The bartender, DJ, was super friendly. He recommended drinks and took his time making them. We didn't feel rushed like other bars. The drinks were tasty and were heavily poured. The best thing is, all wells are $5 all the time! We'll be back here again before heading to the bigger bars! read more

Rude people!! My first time in there, gave me bad vibes. There was an empty seat that I was willing to give up but instead I leaned on the seat and I was pushed away. The reason I'm writing this review is to spread the word about someone I met back in January 2019. We actually met at Dallas Woody's and did karaoke. Nice spot if you can get a spot. The booths are cozy, the bar is tight, and the area around the stage is usually full. However, there are people that will bring you drinks out to you (I think I remember this?) and the bar wait usually isn't long. They have some cool nights with drag performers or jazz shows that are pretty intimate, if loud. I've met mostly good people there without the thump and the lights of nearby clubs. read more

This review is based on seeing a Tuesday evening, 'Showtune' night. A great space, a great bar, but an atrocious pianist and vocalists who were murdering the songs they were singing. Off-tempos, banter that went on forever, tons of inside jokes without consideration for the many non-friends in the audience. This wanted so badly to be Don't Tell Mama or Rose's Turn, but wasn't. Tuesday evening would benefit greatly from moving things along a bit more, bringing in a piano player who understands the tempos of show tunes and streamlining a bit. read more

At one point, our food was delivered while we were outside getting fresh air. The food was also disappointing. The scallops and chicken were extremely salty and lacked flavor, and the chicken was overcooked. When we brought it up, the server did little to address it. To top it off, we saw two large cockroaches around our table, which was especially noticeable in the dark dining room. The cocktails were the highlight, but overall, the service, food, pacing, and cleanliness did not meet expectations. One star. Very disappointing, and I'm not sure I'll be back.

I'm hoping whomever is making these decisions can revert back to what was working. Dallas has a lot of great venues that will fill this void.

For entrees, Dry-Aged Delmonico, Pomme Puree, Crispy Brussels, Honey Truffle Chicken and Whole Lobster Spaghetti. All the food was divine! To wrap it all up we of course ordered the 24 layer strawberry cake. The cake was bought out with a candle and 4 glasses of bubbly which was a very nice treat. Disappointing Experience with Garret at Alexandres Bar My recent visit to Alexandres Bar left a sour taste in my mouth, courtesy of the abysmal service provided by Garret. Despite his lackluster performance, he had the audacity to berate us for what he deemed an insufficient tip. From the moment we stepped in, Garret's demeanor was less than welcoming. His service was sluggish, and it seemed like our presence was more of an inconvenience than an opportunity to provide hospitality. Not only was Garret rude throughout our time there, but his entitled attitude towards tipping was downright appalling. Instead of reflecting on his own performance and understanding that better service equates to better tips, he chose to lash out at us, the customers, for his own shortcomings. In any establishment, customer service should be paramount, yet Garret failed to grasp this concept entirely. His behavior tainted what could have been an enjoyable evening, and I would caution anyone considering visiting Alexandres Bar to steer clear of Garret's section if they value even a modicum of respect and courtesy. read more

I had an amazing time at Alexandre's! The service was top-notch, and Bartender Garret is hands down the best on the strip. He's not only personable, efficient, and attentive but also a great person to chat with and share a laugh. The cocktails here are thoughtfully crafted, look stunning, and taste even better. Plus, the prices are fantastic for a cocktail bar. I tried the buffalo chicken sandwich and was blown away by how large the chicken breast was. It was cooked perfectly--fried but not battered, which was the perfect combo for the sauce. Every visit, I meet and talk to the best people, making it an all-around good time and vibe. So been to this bar a few times. Always a woman blonde bartender who is not nice at all. Lives on kicking people out of the bar which I've seen her do every time I'm there. She had an issue with my friend, who she called a "Nigger" as she kicked us out also calling us all the explicative names. She put her hands on my friend, a girl, calling her a "bitch." I did appreciate that they have a dress code on the weekends and don't allow streetwear. Thankfully, I was dressed appropriately, but I did see them ask one young lady to remove her hat. Overall, I think I would go back, but probably on a weekday when it's hopefully less crowded.
