This place is a hidden gem! I've been here twice now and I absolutely love it. Service is fantastic. Be sure to introduce yourself to Victor when you visit because he takes pride in this restaurant and it shows. Every meal we've had has been so good, pricing for drinks is great for the location and the playlist is full of hits. They have a lot of activities going on for the World Cup too! Make this a place to visit if you're in the downtown area.

I came here on a Sunday evening to grab dinner for one. It's dark and intimate on the inside and it also has a patio where they played sports on the tv. It wasn't too crowded but it looked like there was one server and one bartender. The bartender pitched in to help out even thought I sat on the patio. She also helped me with my order. As an app, I got the duck taquitos which were fantastic. They were crispy in the outside and I liked the cream that came with it. As an entree, I got Zoe's carbonara and I didn't like it too much. The taste was not rich or flavorful. Overall the experience was good and I would go back and try more things.

We checked this place out recently for lunch and had a good experience. We were able to park in their designated lot at the time we visited. The location is cool in an old brick building. Our server was friendly and attentive. We started with the brisket balls. The raspberry chipotle jam paired well with the brisket. My wife had the spicy chicken sandwich and I had the burger. The portion sizes out match the price. They had a menu advertising happy hour specials and their dinner menu looked great online. We will definitely be back to try more items.

Such a cute place with excellent service and calming atmosphere. We started with the brisket balls then moved to entrees of wagyu beef roast and lamb chop. The starter was good but the entrees were honestly some of the best around. I requested my beef roast to be served on mashed potatoes instead of grits and that was seriously the best decision EVER! The roast was so delicious and the veggies and mash were impeccable! My husbands lamb chop was the best he has had in Dallas! You need to stop in and enjoy this gem near farmers market!

Derive was Overwhelming!! I have 3 different servers come to the table to ask if they could take my order! I only got the opportunity to order appetizers, which I wasn't mad with because they were so bland that I didn't want to waste my money on food, unfortunately. I will say that the brisket balls were very fresh and the sauce was really good, but the flavor as a whole was lacking. I expected to bite into the balls and be surprised, but wasn't. If I had to compare them to anything they were like Boudin balls then ordered the duck taquitos thinking they would have a little more flavor and they didn't! They were fried to perfection though. You can tell that the ingredients were fresh, so it was definitely disappointing that it didn't have much flavor. It's kind of unfortunate because the ambience of this place is on point! I said outside on the patio because it was a beautiful day. Walked in through the front entrance so I got to see the inside which was also cute. I'm reading a three star because of the freshness of the food everything else, wasn't a fan of

This beautiful restaurant is easy to miss. It's charming and family friendly. The staff is friendly and helpful too. Ordered the bison burger with fries. It was good. Although I requested it to be cooked medium it came out more on the well done side. I did not send it back but it was a little on the dry side. Therefore I gave it a 4 out of 5.

One of my local favorites for a good, fun, and tasty happy hours. The chef was so nice to come out and discuss the menu options for my food allergies. It's not offer that I can have Taquitos, but only after the Duck Taquitos gluten free they are so good!!! I also really enjoy the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. I'm so glad I found such a great gem.

Overall a great experience and we'll be back. I ordered the Chilaquiles and my partner ordered the Huevos Rancheros. We were pleased but not blown away. The Carne Asada and Turkey Melt + Lemon ricotta cakes were also ordered and also alright. The vibes and location are great and service was solid. I think we just didn't order the hits, so we'll be back to give it another shot!

Lazy 1st Saturday of 2026 and after laying around all day sipping tea, watching movies and eating light bites at home in our pjs we decided to head outside for some holiday returns and dinner. After a quick Yelp search we found this place and once we pulled up we were so surprised that we've never noticed this place as much as we've been to the Farmers Market around the corner. We entered and the staff acknowledged us and immediately came over to escort us to a table. The menu was simple yet filled with plenty of goodness and the overall vibe within the space was vibrant yet chill as the space works for a DateNight (we saw a couple of couples), family outing (we were with our children), friends outing (several were in play), etc.. We started with the NOLA BBQ Shrimp app & the lamb lollipops which were both a hit. Main courses: Duck & Rope Pasta Cobb Salad Gigis Pasta Grill Cheese & Chicken Tender The only thing that wasn't well received is the GiGis Pasta only because when my children read pesto they thing creamy as I maw pesto pasta. It was more oil based so one of the boys didn't eat but instead of sending it back I packed it up and will make it creamy for his lunch tomorrow. I Love the napkins or kept the conversations going at the table. The server recognized that we were celebrating our youngest Birthday month and brought out a candle atop the cinnamon roll cheesecake which was very sweet. The cheesecake was Amazing :-)

4.6 We decided to check out Bucket & Rope for Sunday brunch, and honestly? Best decision ever From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with so much enthusiasm and seated right away by the window --although I was a little unsure about staying there since it was already cold outside . While we were deciding, someone immediately checked in to make sure we were okay (love that ). That's when the very kind gentleman--who we later learned was Victor Hugo--let us know another table would be clearing shortly so we could move. Top-tier service already For appetizers, we went with the brisket balls, duck taquitos, and a pitcher of pineapple mimosas . Let me tell you... those duck taquitos were SO good That crema?? EVERYTHING. The brisket balls instantly took us back to Turks & Caicos --IFYKYK We also tried the quesadilla, and once again--another hit . So good that we ended up ordering another round of the brisket balls because why not? Shoutout to Sayde and Maria, who were absolutely amazing . Tequila shots were flowing , and we were convinced to order pecan pie with ice cream for dessert . I do wish the dessert had been complimentary, and the pie would've been a solid 10/10 if it were warm--but still appreciated. Takeaway: Bucket & Rope does food right , and Victor and his team truly make you feel like family . We'll definitely be back--especially for those half-price apps during the week

Came here on a Thursday evening surprised to see how empty it was since it had such good reviews. I guess I was just late for happy hour. Sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive throughout the evening. I ordered my food and it came out quickly and delicious. Very chili vibe, was able to watch a bit of Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix while I ate, but left before I got to the waterworks part. All in all, I will be coming back if I'm ever in downtown Dallas again.

This place feels nice and open. I went for lunch and it was not very busy. The service is attentive and patient. However, the meal was meh. We ordered the house salad ( which was overdressed ) and the pesto pasta which was okay but the pasta was extra extra al dente. If I went back I would order something else. They were very nice.

Wow!! Everything was amazing! Dianna was such a sweet and tentative server. Can't wait to comeback!

We came in near closing time, but Emilia provided us great service and stayed attentive even though they were clearly packed. We were seated at a table near the door, and unfortunately it had a vomit smell. Whatever it was, my friend could not stand it and had to get up and step away from the table. We first thought the culprit was the paper drink coasters, but then the staff removed the door mat near us later on, so maybe someone puked on it and the smell lingered, even after it was cleaned up. Clear Mizu ($16): This has Sakura vermouth and bitters, so we ordered it. It tasted like straight up gin and was not good. It was actually one of the rare times my husband could not finish his drink. Kyoto Sunset ($15): This one wasn't bad and tasted like honeydew. The ingredients include honeydew Calpico, so that makes sense. Johnny Walker Black ($16): This was our friend's drink, which I think was just coke and Johnny Walker. Nothing special about the taste either. Given the smell and so-so/terrible cocktails, we will not be coming back or taking our friends here.

At one point, our food was delivered while we were outside getting fresh air. The food was also disappointing. The scallops and chicken were extremely salty and lacked flavor, and the chicken was overcooked. When we brought it up, the server did little to address it. To top it off, we saw two large cockroaches around our table, which was especially noticeable in the dark dining room. The staff was very welcoming, and the other guests I encountered were friendly and sociable. The drinks were excellent. On my first visit, I had the Hugo Spritz, which was mixed to perfection. During my second visit, I tried the Bitter Lemon Soda, which was also very good--simple, refreshing, and without any overpowering flavors. I actually enjoyed The Bowen House so much that I went twice during my weekend trip to Dallas. It has an almost speakeasy-like atmosphere, with low lighting and a cozy, historic feel. It's also in a very walkable area, which made it easy to visit on foot. There is some parking available, although I would say it's somewhat limited. I don't think it would be the best spot for a very large group, but it would be perfect for a few friends getting together.
