Great chill and intimate setting with outstanding service. From hand wipes when you arrive to boxes to place the menu under the table for extra space, they really thought of everything. For appetizers we got the tuna crispy rice and edamame hummus both of which were flavorful and unique. Then we had our entrees of 4 different rolls that were each absolutely delicious and some of the best rolls if had not only in Dallas, but ever. I honestly cannot think of anything I wanted done differently. Next time I would like to try more of the specials, nigiri's, and sashimi as opposed to the sushi rolls!!
We were pretty lucky to get same day reservations here! Eric R. suggested I pick something on my bookmark list since we had the night to ourselves. I looked on Resy and my bookmarks, and found Pearl so I made reservations for 7:45 PM. We arrived a few minutes early and parked in the free garage (validation requires scanning the QR code at the host stand). I had requested sushi bar, which was full, so the host offered a table but we were willing to wait for the bar. The restaurant is small so tables are fairly close together, and the patio was also very full. The doors were open as servers were going in and out of the restaurant onto the patio, and it was definitely a bit chilly that night. The sushi bar was farther from the door. It was not long before we were seated. Our server was very friendly and introduced us to Chef James who were sat in front of at the sushi bar. I ordered a yuzu lemonade and Eric R. got hot barley green tea. There were numerous specials available so we ordered a mix of food from the main menu and specials. First, Chef James gave us an amuse bouche of fluke in a yuzu sauce with olive oil. We had the crispy rice spicy tuna appetizer. It is with this I noticed that the sushi rice is seasoned uniquely and has a lot of flavor and color to it. I ordered the spicy yuzu sugar snap peas from the specials menu which came out next. I really liked this because unlike edamame, the entire pod can be eaten! The chawanmushi came out next. It is hard for me to find this one menus so I always order it first because it takes time to steam. It was very savory, warm, and delicious. Both Eric R. and I got the blue fin tuna tasting, with one piece each of akami, chutoro, and o-toro. We also ordeed the pearl sashimi roll which was really tasty. Nigiri: Hiramasa (kingfish) Kintokidai (big redeye or red fin sea bream) King salmon Kinmedai (golden eye snapper) Gindara (seared black cod) Japanese uni Eric R. had a negitoro handroll, then we both enjoyed a negihama handroll. Our last savory bite was a gift from Chef James of seared sake toro (salmon belly). Eric R. finished with mango mochi. Overall, we had a very nice meal here with great service. The quality of the fish was great, and the menu had many options. If it was not so chilly in there, Eric R. may not have asked for 100 tea refills, but the staff was very nice about it. Itadakimasu!
Pearl was good. Funny enough it wasn't the fish that I remember, it was this wagyu beef roll We liked it so much we ordered it twice. This was along side our omakase meal. The sushi was good too don't get me wrong. We were also given their version of "fish & chips" that I thought was tasty. DEFINITELY better than the REAL thing from the UK The layout of the restaurant was very chique and good service.
WHAT I ORDERED: Creme Brulee Martini, Yuzu Spritz Mocktail, Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, Oyster Shooters, King Salmon Truffle Ponzu, Salmon Chili Garlic, Japanese Fish & Chips, Otoro Sashimi, Chutoro Sashimi, Variety of Nigiris, Soft Shell Crab Roll PARKING: Street or validated parking in the garage. With the reservation, they sent a text with parking instructions and how to validate. Staff also helped if needed. INSIDE: Cozier/more intimate atmosphere on the inside with covered patio seating available outside. Not only was our server attentive but the entire staff was. They really work together from serving food, and being knowledgable about what they're putting on your table, to keeping water topped off and everything clean. THE FOODS/DRINKS: Everything was amazing! Stand out dishes would be the King Salmon Truffle Ponzu, Chutoro Sashimi, and the Soft Shell Crab Roll. Each dish was fresh and flavorful. There's a lot of variety on the menu that the next time I come, I would have a hard time debating between ordering these same dishes or trying something new. The Creme Brulee Martini is a good spinoff of the espresso martini with its creaminess and was just sweet enough. The Yuzu Spritz Mocktail was a refreshing citrusy drink.
Pearl Sushi is a cool modern sushi restaurant in Uptown Dallas that is helmed by chef Shine Tamaoki. His creative dishes result in a fantastic dining experience that places it next to the many fine restaurants in Dallas. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Pearl is in the heart of Uptown Dallas. The backlight sign is cool and mysterious, and the restaurant is small but inviting. But Pearl's most amazing attribute is hung on the ceiling. As you walk inside, take a glance above. You'll see hundreds of origami swans. They are all connected to form a larger swan which is a microcosm of my experience (the sum experience is greater than its parts). 1 Star. Service - Our staff was excellent. They were well versed on the menu, the location each fish was flown in from, and made sure our plates were cleaned between each meal. They were attentive and made sure we had a great experience. 1 Star. Food - We started with the Spicy Edamame. The spicy (and slightly sweet) edamame was a great, sticky start to our meal. My favorite dish was the Yellowtail Serrano. The Yellowtail sits a light sauce, and the serrano pepper adds a little heat to balance the acidic sauce and neutral Hamachi. Also high on my list was the Snow Crab Roll. This roll had snow crab, avocado, cucumber, and was stacked like a pyramid. And here's where Pearl stands out, each dish is like small works of art. They were beautiful. You can tell the sushi chefs put lots of effort into your meal. Everything is delicious. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Pearl Sushi has an expansive menu, and you can always ask of omakase. There are many great sushi restaurants in Dallas. Let's add Pearl Sushi to this list. I can't wait to come back. 1 Star.
The sushi here was pretty good, and I loved the tuna flight. The interior was a bit smaller than expected and had lots of gnats flying around. I'm assuming it's because of the weather, but they were pretty annoying while I was eating. I'll probably order to go next time instead of dining in or go when the weather gets colder.
We went for the happy hour and really liked the drink and sushi selection! I got the Sakura sour which I thought was the best drink, I also tried the lychee martini which was good but very standard. My favourite rolls were torched salmon, snow crab and scallop . The presentation for each of the rolls were on point! The restaurant has a great design and atmosphere. The location is in a pretty busy area, but parking is not hard to find. I'll definitely be back for another happy hour.
First off, the service here is above and beyond from the moment you walk in. The staff is so friendly, and the little touches make such a difference -- they brought me a warm towel to clean my hands and even a basket for my purse so it didn't have to go on the floor or hang off my chair. Love that. The cocktails were fresh, balanced, and not overly sweet. I tried the Japanese Margarita and the White Pearl -- both were delicious. The spicy tuna appetizer might honestly be one of the best I've ever had. The sushi rolls were a great portion size and you can really taste the quality and freshness. Everything was just so good.
Came in for a quick bite during the holidays. The vibe here is super inviting. All the chefs had the festive Christmas hats which was so fun! Our chef was awesome. We went with a half omakase and every bite was so yum! Awesome place. You can't order wrong. Will come back fully hungry next time!
The food, drinks, and ambiance were all wonderful! All of the rolls we tried were great, and we happened to go during happy hour so they were 50% off. The happy hour value for rolls and drinks is great, and we will definitely be back! Highly recommend the torched salmon roll and the butterscotch crepe cake.
Sleek casual. Server on training. Lovely cuts of sashimi. Dainty bites of refined sushi. Most impressive this Saturday night were Pearl's fluffy and crisp "Japanese Fish & Chips" and decadent "Black Sesame Cheesecake"! CHEERS!
Delicious sushi food! The ambience was very classy, but also very comfortable. The staff were very responsive, and make sure to refill water as quickly along with cleaning up the tables. All the sushi was really tasty, but my favorite was the torched Salmon roll. There is parking right beside it. A trick is that you pay for parking on the QR code, but they have a validation code at the restaurant so that it gives you back the funds. Tyler was the staff, and he was very patient and friendly and helpful regarding this.
The restaurant is beautiful Me and my Fiance were treated like royalty the minute we sat down . Amazing service! 10/10 Best ive ever had. The FOOD!!!! :D Spectacular. 10/10 The Torched Salmon roll was very good Fatty Tuna Nigiri was excellent!! 10/10 The desert was incredible! Matcha dessert and the Cheesecake was delicious. 10/10 The Chefs special filet mignon skewers were also a nice addition! 8/10 Miso soup was a 8/10 Hmm what else did we eat. Came for happy hour with my friend and we enjoyed the food! Parking was easy and the restaurant will validate parking for you once inside. We opted to sit at the sushi bar so we were able to see all of the action! First, our servers were amazing and made us feel welcomed from when we first entered and left for the night. My only complaint is our sushi chef, who took our orders, wasn't friendly at all. There were a few times I was nervous to ask for more sushi, etc. Other than that, we didn't let it deter our evening. We started out with drinks (cocktails were half off) and I ordered the PurPearl and I didn't care for this drink. I ended up drinking wine for the rest of the night. For food, we ordered a variety of items - softshell crab, yellowtail serrano, spicy tuna roll, wagyu miso roll, aburi trio, and a few nigiri pieces. All of the food was delicious and fresh! We ended with their white chocolate dessert and that was tasty as well. Overall, this is a great spot to check out for happy hour! read more
My friend and I went to Pearl to check out their Happy hour. We heard about the happy hour special from tiktok. We arrived as soon as they opened at 5PM and within in 30 minutes, the restaurant was packed. The happy hour is a steal! They have half off sushi roles and drinks. We didn't get any drinks however we got four different sushi roles and split them. Everything was so delicious. The torched salmon roll was my personal favorite. The service was great and they also offer complimentary parking validation if you park at the garage next to the restaurant. I will forsure be back! read more

This little sushi spot is going to be big. I have a good sense about this place so from what I understand it's from the renowned Nobu chef , which makes sense because the food is absolutely drop dead gorgeous delicious. All be it small portions... I have to say four of my favorites, the spicy, tuna, crispy rice . The smoked yellowtail . Salmon, chili garlic . And the Japanese Miyazaka Wagyu. They were all so incredibly flavorful . The service at the pearl is impeccable . Honestly, we never had to wait for anything. our server. (his name escapes me.) was completely on point. Honestly, WOW! I am impressed that this sushi place was delicious. I am not sure as to why my reservation was cancelled when we are checked in and seated. We were seated outside which was extremely warming and comfortable. It was also covered. It would be next to come back to feel out the ambiance inside next time. We started off with white pearl and japanese highball. Both drinks are delicious and you can barely taste the harshness of it. Here is the things we ordered in foods (sorry its not exactly stated on menu) 1. Spicy edamame 2. Crispy Tuna Rice 3. Scallop 4. Chutoro Nigiri 5. Wagyu Cream Roll 6. Torched Salmon Roll 7. Crab Nigiri Our absolute favorite is the Wagyu Roll! OMG!!!!!!!! Definitely a must. My favorite fish is Chutoro, so definitely had to get the nigiri of that. You can pass on the spicy edamame, there was nothing special about it. Also second favorite is the Crispy Tuna Rice!!!!! I want to come back to just ordered these two again! Parking can be validated but we did not know so we found street parking which wasn't too far at all. read more

Everything we got was delicious. Fresh sushi. I highly recommend this place. Their drinks were very good too! Service was great. When my friends went to the bathroom, they even tidy up their place settings. They keep it fancy here! The ambiance is chic and I love it. The only thing is it's a bit pricey. I was still hungry after. But scallops is one of my favorites and they have me dreaming about theirs because it's that good! read more
Dare I say... my new favorite sushi/Japanese spot? Chef Shine did an amazing job curating everything for this restaurant. The interior is classy and elegant. Music and ambiance not too loud but lively enough to feel the energy in the restaurant. Even their outdoor patio is beautifully decorated. From the moment you walk in, you're teleported to Japan with their top notch service. You first clean your hands with wet towels are you're even offered a basket for your bag(s). Even when you get up to use the restroom, your table setting is re-organized neatly for you. Both the cocktails we've had were amazing. I probably could have drank 2 more if I didn't have things to do after dinner lol. We had the White Pearl, very light with a hint of citrus flavor, topped with egg white was beautifully prepared. I feel like with a lot of egg white drinks, the egg white just disappears into the cocktail but that's not the case with their drink. With each sip, I was met with fluffiness and sweetness of the egg white. The Ube cocktail was just as good. At first, it didn't taste as ube-y but the flavor hits you after a bit. Both drinks weren't overly sweet nor overly flavorful in a way that would clash with your meal, they went perfectly with all the dishes I ate. I loved every dishes we had, but the top 3 were the scallop crudo, Japanese fish & chips and salmon nigiri. My go-to sushi piece is always salmon, and the topping Chef Shine chose for his salmon is just.. *chefs kiss* Imagine a creamy, melty piece of salmon with the crunch of some crispy rice puffs. It's a duo I never knew I needed. Moving over to my most favorite dish of the night: the Japanese fish & chips. They use curry powder in the batter and oh my gosh, Idek how it's possible for a flavor to be so subtle yet flavorful. Both the fish and burdock chips were fried to perfection and the dipping sauces.. it was like flavor fusion (think of the cheese and grape from Ratatouille). This might be the longest review I've written in awhile lol sooo.. I'm gonna end it here. All I can say is I hope you get to experience it for yourself :) read more

Sushi was delicious. Not much food for the price but all was very good. Rolls weren't very big so we ended up ordering a couple more. Crispy rice was tasty, but I've had better at other places. Oysters were fresh and had good flavor. Drinks were also very good as well. Service was amazing! We never had to ask for anything the server came and checked on us often. Ambiance is great. Dimly lit and romantic. read more
The service is some of the best I have experienced recently. The host staff thought of everything from baskets for purses to clothing appropriate color napkins. The food and drinks were delicious as well. The restaurant is small but has a lovely convertible patio for extra space. The bar area is also lovely but compact. I do think the food/drinks are a tad overpriced, especially with a competitor around the corner. But, I will be going again! read more

RUN, don't walk to Pearl! LOVED LOVED everything here. From the food to the drinks to the ambience, everything was just fab. Starting with three food, we got the chef's special of the day, Brussels sprouts and Kanpachi crudo, both exquisite! The spicy edamame had a great kick, the torched salmon nigiri and the salmon roll was chef's kiss, the yellowtail sashimi was fresh! My friend got the avocado roll and said it was great too. The oysters had the best dressing I've had yet, ANYWHERE! I ordered the Lychee martini for my drink and it was the best I've ever had, light, crisp, refreshing and not too sweet, just perfect! Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order here. I liked the black sesame cheesecake dessert over the matcha one. Pearl is my absolute favorite Dallas sushi restaurant. From service to the quality of the food. I highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar, the service from the chefs is fantastic and enhances the overall experience. Their fish is so fresh and delicious, it melts in your mouth! I've been about 7 times now, and they have been consistent each time. My husband booked this cool new spot for our latest date night and I'm so glad he did! Initially the cool decor and intimate setting made a great impact. We were seated at the sushi bar and got to the masters at work the whole time which made it like dinner and a show! The staff and were so kind, attentive and knowledgeable. The team of sushi chefs offered great advice on ordering and even took our orders for rolls! The food itself was scrumptious. My favorites were the torched salmon roll and the lychee martini. The ingredients were so fresh and the rolls were really well coordinated and had such an amazing balance of flavors. Can't wait for our next visit! read more
