I have no words. I have been here before and remember it being decently good, and even though this visit we had a near identical menu, the food was clearly of a much better quality--much fresher and vibrant than last visit! And they always have so many dishes and such variety that they bring out that there's something for everyone. Just insane how much food there is. Our group barely got to touch the last few entrees--we were so full. We left with very loaded takeout boxes! Super friendly staff

Went with a large group on a Monday night. We were given a table a bit separate from the rest of the upstairs seating, which was great. The noise level is fairly high throughout the restaurant, this little section might have been a bit better. Food was fantastic. When they say make sure to get the okra, make sure to get the okra- it's got that hard to describe grilled/buttery/garlicky flavor that I adore! The sushi was top notch. The fried rice with shrimp had such an interesting yummy flavor, and the shrimp were chopped up which I appreciate. ****Monday nights wine bottles are half priced!****

This was my second visit to Shinsei and I think it was better than the first visit! The side we sat on was with the sushi bar, although we sat at a table, I did notice this time that they put some sound softening elements on the ceiling, which did seem to help the noise level was very good. Our waitress was amazing!! It seemed she had been there a while and knew everything!! I loved her! We started with the pork dumplings and Hamachi and Pear appetizer along with Katina's Sticky Rice... think the sticky rice was my favorite with Hamachi coming in a close second!! We also tried the Coconut Chicken Jalapeño Poppers. For dinner I had the miso plat cod and my husband had the baby back ribs, absolutely everything was delicious. My black cod was cooked to perfection and of course for dessert I had cotton candy. I mean is there a better dessert?? LOL

We found another delectable sushi restaurant in Dallas. This upscale sushi restaurant is the real deal ... show up, dress up and glow up! We were able to sample so many delicious sushi items , in addition to their steak with mashed potatoes. Such a crazy good vibe we rented out there top floor of the restaurant and just party for hours and hours. The service was amazing. The restaurant itself is very hip and cool downstairs. If you rent the top floor, it's big enough for graduations, family get together's birthday celebrations office parties, you name it they can accommodate you. The cocktails are amazing and I highly recommend you Uber .

We went for my friend's birthday dinner and had a blast. We loved Sameth!!! He was very attentive and made us laugh. The green goddess roll and fried rice were delicious. We had shishito peppers (these were okay) and beef dumplings for apps (very good). I will be back again to try more! Thank you for a great experience!

Shinsei is the definition of Asian Fusion cuisine. There's a lot of experimentation going on with the menu and you'll get the most out of your meal if you're willing to go for the non-traditional rolls and dishes. The flavors are really good and my group sat there trying to reverse-engineer everything we were tasting. The inside of the restaurant is dark and a little moody. They take reservations on Open Table.

really liked the fresh sushi rolls (the Purple Rain was a standout) and the brussels sprouts were amazing. The cocktails were great too--though it did get a bit loud and the bill added up fast, the food and service made it worth the visit

I really enjoyed Shensei. The location of the restaurant itself is pretty cool, as it is tucked into a strip of other establishments. I recommend car sharing as there is limited parking. I really like the interior of Shinsei. While it is tight as far as space between customers, it's not so tight that it's uncomfortable. The interior is more akin to an east coast restaurant, as opposed to a Texas restaurant. Onto the food! It was also amazing, and our waitress was great. She let me have a half portion of fried rice as opposed to a full portion, even though the half portion wasn't on the menu. The drinks were awesome too. I'd definitely go back to Shinsei. Great restaurant.

    Modern Seaweed Salad

I think we have found our new go to place for Asian food. A co-worker of mine recommended this place, and we decided to try it out one Saturday night. Upon walking inside, the ambiance was city casual with Asian flare. Very welcoming. Our table was upstairs and the decor did not disappoint on the second level. It even had a very well stocked bar, which was convenient for their fabulous cocktails. We started with the Modern Seaweed Salad and Gochujang Cauliflower. The Gochujang Cauliflower was simply delicious. My SO, who is not a cauliflower fan, could not get enough of it. The seaweed salad was not my favorite, but that's because the texture of the large pieces of seaweed is not ideal to me. The flavor was spot on and was delicious. My SO ordered the Slow Braised Short Ribs with noodles. When I say his eyes rolled back into his head upon first bite, I am not exaggerating. He said this is simply the best short rib preparation he's ever had - period. There was not one single drop of food left on his plate when he was done. He also tried their Old Fashioned Flask cocktail and absolutely loved it. He had at least two and still talked about how much he liked them on the drive home. For my main entree, I had the Kendall and Dragon Lady Press rolls. They both were divine, fresh, and flavorful. Probably some of the best sushi I've had in a long time. It was so good that my SO, who isn't the biggest fan of sushi (especially raw), gladly ate up all of my leftovers. He, too, thought they were amazing. While I was stuffed to the brim, my SO was dying to try their State Fair Fried Cookie Dough and Ice Cream. As full as I was, I forced myself to at least eat one piece, and I'm so glad that I did. It is like having the state fair delight without the crowd, blistering summer heat, or the crazy parking. Definitely a must try - even once. All in all we cannot wait to go back. This will be on the regular restaurant rotation for sure.

Went here recently with a bigger group. They have a great small room in the back of the restaurant. The staff was super nice. We tried multiple dishes but the things that stood out were the beef hot rock, pork steam buns, dragon pressed lady, glass noodles, and omesake. The Omesake was amazing and great collection of sushi. They definitely have a unique collection of sushi and flavors and is worth trying for a special occasion.

This place is absolutely amazing! We sat at the bar and had a wonderful time. The bartender was friendly, fun, and very knowledgeable about drinks and entrees. The food was absolutely delicious! We tried several items from the okra to the jalapeño poppers to dessert. Nothing disappointed. I'm definitely coming back here as it is now one of my favorite spots in Dallas. Be sure to make a reservation!

    Amazing sushi options.

Every plate has its own personality. The service strikes a good perfect balance: attentive without hovering, warm without being over-the-top. It feels personal. The sauce is rich and savory -- the kind that makes you slow down so you don't finish it too fast. I don't know where to start with the presentation - between the smoked old fashioned, the nigiri served in giant smoking boxes, the sauce and rolls assembled at the table, or IMO the coolest part: the sake glasses flash cooled at the table with liquid nitrogen. These guys went all out. Service was also extremely good, our waitress was super friendly, very attentive, very helpful. Actually one funny item was that on the note for our reservation we mentioned that we were looking for a 7 course omakase, which Musume doesn't offer, so the staff started making a personal menu for us. We went with an on menu option but... says a lot about the commitment. The owner (I think) came by as well and was also very helpful and friendly. This was a great experience - highly recommend.
