Very disappointed, we generally like the food here but don't think we will come back. We just placed an order for pick up. When we asked for a receipt to review the items, they said after we pay that the receipt will print out. When we got home, we realized that they charged 10% service charge. Service charge for what exactly? We called in in order, picked it up, and left. I've never seen a restaurant charge a 10% service charge for a pick up order and for what reason? Why was this not disclosed? And when we called to ask them, they indicated that it was their policy. I will be filing a dispute. This is bad business and bad character. read more

First time at this location. My go to is usually Grapevine. This one has a whole different vibe - much more casual, buzzing, and noise level much higher. Service was excellent - we had a reservation though we were a tad late, they worked with us to accommodate. Menus are the same. What I really enjoy about Oishii is that they have a wonderful selection of rice less rolls. We sampled many of them including two special ones. Always love the oysters and soft shell crab appetizers. Super flavorful. Everything was very fresh and beautifully presented. We also weren't rushed even though we chose to linger and catch up. Biggest challenge is the parking. Not a surprise in this part of town. read more

Service was good. Rolls were good. The kitchen got the order wrong. And the lady manager kept one of our entrees under a heat lamp for 30 minutes and returned it to us later during the meal. It was not good. It could have been handled much better. Then she ignored us for the rest of our stay. Obviously, she knew the entrée was subpar. read more

Definitely a solid choice in the regular lineup. The service is definitely consistent and fish is fresh. Our favorites are the Himalayan roll, the G roll, and the Royce roll. Tried the lychee martini and it was good! Atmosphere is casual, and great place for girls night or date night! read more

We love Oishii and eat there frequently, but the last time we went--party of 4 with a reservation--they were unable to seat us for 40 minutes. This is unacceptable. If they can't manage their seating better than that, they shouldn't take reservations. It weakly soured us on this place. read more

First time at this location. Wycliff and the SMU location are my places. I loved this location. Nice vibe inside and smaller than others. Bar are is nice with full meal service. Food was good. Menu has something for everyone. Flat noodles were great! Loved the salmon tacos. read more

Came in the week of Christmas and they decorated really well plus had good Christmas playlist. Plenty of options for the picky eater or the sushi connoisseur. Shrimp fried rice was so good and I've never had it presented to me like I did here so will come back to try more dishes. Server was attentive and checked in frequently. read more

Good: The staff were terrific. Environment was nice. Pricing pretty competitive. Bad: The Tuna sushi was grocery store grade. Yellowtail had gristle and chewy. We spent over $100 getting take out from Oishii last night and to say it was a disappointment is a massive understatement. Let's start with the obvious - the rolls are the smallest, weakest version of any sushi roll you will find at any establishment on the planet. They do not even pretend to bulk it up with rice. Our spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail and California rolls had the seaweed nearly overlap twice. There was less than an ounce of filling in each entire roll. Obviously, due to this scam version of sushi, the rolls tasted of nothing (since they were 90% rice and seaweed). Just as they would not allow Taco Bell to call their tacos 'beef' because they contained a majority of filler, Oishii, should be banned from describing their rolls as anything other than MINIATURE RICE ROLLS with a hint of chopped fish. Airport sushi would be considered Nobu when compared to this thievery. Moving on to the pieces, we ordered salmon, eel and tuna sushi - each order of two came in its own box and I swear we thought the boxes were empty. The pieces of fish were less than 1/2 of what you would expect a piece to be. These were not one-bite sushi, they were NO BITE sushi. The flavor was fine but raising the fish to your mouth when considering the expense creates rage rather than satiety. Lastly, the pork dumplings - we waited for the order to be ready yet when we got home, the dumplings were ICE cold. I am not saying they were room temperature. They were COLD. Clearly they were pre-made and stored in the refrigerator. The side dipping sauce was also COLD. This place is an avoid at all costs takeout scam shop. Perhaps they are doing that old con where they just screw over the to-go orders and eating in the restaurant is better because I cannot believe that food of this quality and price would not be sent back if delivered to a table in-person. Love coming here with my kids! Such a chill easy-going place that's very welcoming for families. Service was amazing. Great recommendations. I think I got the Royce roll and it was so good. They have everything for everyone, including orange chicken for my kids, and they even had the sweetest little orange made of bears at the end. We all really really enjoyed Sushi here. read more

Great food and service. The only thing I didn't like was the tables were very close together, however it is a small spot.

It is a nice ad to the neighborhood however they need to work out some kinks with the menu and service. They have the potential to become a neighborhood gem. Watch out for the Himalayan roll or potentially other rolls because that one is served on a rock of wet salt, which isn't into appetizing if you plan not to finish it within two minutes. read more

I am a long-time patron of Oishii, mostly on Wycliff, so when it opened in N. Dallas, I knew I would often go. The food is always great and our waitperson is usually also very good. However, I have to call out the hosts for taking themselves way too seriously. My first visit I asked for the sushi bar, which was mostly open. The host said I needed a reservation for the sushi bar, which I knew wasn't true. Another host came along to correct him, and I chalked it up to working out opening issues. However, I went last night with someone else, so I wanted a table. We got there at 5 pm when they opened and did not have a reservation, thinking I would not need one at 5 pm. I was wrong - turns out there were "no tables" available unless I had a reservation, and seeing that there was only one other table occupied at that time, I asked again if we could have a table. I was flatly turned down, so we agreed to sit at the sushi bar. However, just before sitting, my companion pulled out his phone and made a reservation for 5:15 pm. I thought, "Ok, this is ridiculous," but we made our way to the host stand and he said "Reservation for xxx at 5:15 pm," and they immediately seated us at a table. I was pretty surprised - and amused at the same time. We occupied the table for about an hour, and during that time, there were no less than 6 tables around us that remained unoccupied. Oishii managers and hosts: Stop taking yourselves so seriously and work with your customers to make them happy. I'll be back, but guess if I want a table, I'll make a reservation. read more

Josh (with the amazing mustache) was attentive and very on top of our table of 3. He was quick with our drinks and orders. The longest we waiting without being checked up on was 6 minutes, he made sure we had everything we needed when we needed it. 10/10 would recommend and when you get here as for "Josh with the perfect mustache". read more

The food and service here is impeccable!! For the first time in my life I ordered a caterpillar roll and it came out looking like an actual caterpillar!! Finally! It was just a delight! There is something for everyone on the menu! The portions are for sharing. You can't go wrong with anything you order. I have yet to be disappointed! The Preston Hollow location is in the old Pei Wei location, and you wouldn't recognize it. The remodel is stunning. So beautiful and clean inside! Glad they are in the neighborhood!! read more

Long time Oishii fan. Mostly go to the location on maple. Have not frequented the newer locations much, but decided this was a must since it is in my neighborhood. Good, casual sushi is a missing dining option in the Preston Hollow are. This was a welcome opening and we have since done take out once and dined in twice. The experience in restaurant is hectic, fast paced and makes you feel rushed. they have a good wait and they are pressuring to burn and turn tables. On my first in-store visit, they forgot a roll and it took so long that we ended up just cancelling it and getting our check. Otherwise, food is very good, consistent and fresh. I WISH there was a picture menu where you could see each of the several dozens of rolls as we are visual creatures! I intend to go back and I expect I'll eventually raise this to 4 or 5 star once they work out the kinks of a new location. I hate giving them 3-stars, but I left with a feeling of being rushed and it rubbed me the wrong way. Give it a shot! read more

Went to Oishii Sushi Preston Hollow, at Forest/Preston, tonight. Looking for a good sushi place near our house. Came in around 5:15, got busy very quickly (good sign) and sat at the bar. Ordered couple of glasses of wine followed by dinner. Appetizer arrived, asked for silverware, and bartender focused on pouring drinks and received utensils 5-10 min later. Ordered sushi and it took over 30 minute to arrive (per bartender, "I should have told you it would take 20-25 min"). Food arrived and my wife's salad had a over 10-inch hair on the plate. Pretty obvious so do not know why they deliverer and we declined to eat that dish and asked them to close out our ticket. Unfortunately hoped for a better experience but will not go back. Sad and had hoped to put this restaurant in our regular rotation. read more
