Nori was my favorite food spot in Dallas! Pretty straight to the point with hand rolls, but they offer different tiered menus depending how hungry you are at very reasonable prices. The apps and cocktails are good as well. The hostess is great with keeping time and sitting you at the time of your reservation and was sweet enough to even hang our coats on hangers so it's not on our laps during the meal. I've come back here a couple times already and I was just visiting. It's also located in a popular area where you can hang and walk around for more eats or shopping.

Oh man im super bummed they changed management about a year ago because this place used to be my favorite place to go and would come back for when i visited in 2023. I would make day trips to dallas from orlando just for the handrolls. But it doesnt taste the same anymore as the flavor wasnt there for each handrolls and fish wasnt as fresh. The handroll that stood out the most to us was the scallops as it was super crunchy. But they gave us lean salmon, the toro did not hit the same and the crab and lobster just wasnt as good as we remembered. Also prices have gone up alot compared to their competitors for what we had. The crunch is there still and our staff was super sweet and gave us a chance to try the strawberry crepe cake but sadly i dont think we will be visiting dallas for nori anymore.

Not sure if there's a Sushi Bar quite like this in Dallas, but it's definitely reminiscent of a high end sushi joint in New York or Japan. This place is very quaint and unassuming. You have no idea that you're about to experience a top tier sushi/izakaya experience. You could tell by the service alone. They were very attentive, professional, and the sushi chef behind bar was happy to chat us up a little and give us a free education on wasabi root and why it's so unique and hard to procure. Ok on to the food. I'm sure everyone has had fried Brussels sprouts a million times over but these are slightly different. The leaves are fried and lightly mixed in a delicate sauce which lends out such a nice eating experience. The rock shrimp tempura tossed in what seems to be a very elevated sriracha dressing is a whole other texturally blissful moment. A near perfect izakaya dish. The takoyaki is very top tier with its custardy center and perfectly cooked octopus. The tuna flight is absolutely exceptional. Completely understated and every bite of tuna is actually better than the last. The Loro Uni Truffle Caviar Nigiri though pricey is one those types of experiences you treat yourself to. Nothing wrong with watching a high caliber sushi chef shave endless black truffle over your nigiri. And now for the name sake, the handroll. We ordered the spicy tuna, ebi, and torched crab. If you're coming for anything at all, come for the handrolls. Best deal on the menu and incredibly delicious. We cannot wait to come back!

A Must-Eat Experience! Do not let the location fool you ~ this place is a hidden gem and absolutely worth every bite! From start to finish, the food here is phenomenal. Every dish is crafted with care, flavor, and artistry that's rare to find. The owner Duke is always behind the sushi bar preparing everything himself ~ from fresh sashimi to perfectly rolled hand rolls and creative specialty dishes. He's incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his craft, and it shows in every plate he serves. Watching him work adds to the whole experience ~ it's like dinner and a show in one! This time we had the: Chicken Karaage, Torched Crab Hand Roll, Salmon Sashimi, Yellowtail Special and Tuna Sushi. I've eaten here numerous times and will continue to come here ~ Everything is Wonderful! The service is excellent and the ambiance is fun, inviting and full of good energy. Whether you're a sushi or hand roll lover or new to it, this place will win you over. Parking is super easy, directly next door ~ and it's 100% Worth the drive. We drive from Rockwall. This spot is truly one of a kind. If you haven't been yet, GO. You'll thank yourself later! I only give HONEST and TRUE Reviews from the Heart. Thank you for taking the time to read it & react to it.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Nori Handroll. We ordered the Starving 5 piece set. All the sushi served was fresh and delicious. It was an interesting experience. I liked the long sushi bar aesthetic.

If vibes could teleport you, this spot would be your one-way ticket to another world. First Impression I almost didn't want to leave this review because part of me wanted to keep Nori Handroll Bar all to myself... but it's too good not to share. From the outside it's easy to miss, but step through the discreet entrance and you're transported into a warm, intimate space. The lighting is low, the wood finishes are sleek, and the entire dining room is one long bar where everyone sits shoulder to shoulder watching the sushi chefs at work. It feels exclusive and personal, almost like you've stumbled into a hidden spot not everyone knows about. The Food I tried three handrolls: lobster, crab, and scallops. The lobster was the standout with its buttery, meaty bite wrapped in crisp seaweed. The scallops was juicy and refreshing with nice flavor. The crab had great flavor too, but it had stiff competition sitting next to the other two. I left satisfied with three, though I know four would have filled me up completely without needing sides or appetizers. The Experience Service was attentive, which made the night feel smooth and relaxed. I noticed that the center of the bar offers the best view of the chefs rolling sushi, though it also means possibly being seated closer to more guests compared to the ends depending on how crowded the venue is. Highlights - Star of the Show: The lobster handroll. - Insider Secret: The center bar seats have the best view of the action, while the ends are a bit more private. - Final Word: Exclusive, intimate, and the kind of place I'd gladly come back to.

At first when I walked in and saw that it was completely empty I was a bit worried thinking this place wouldn't be as good as I was told. I was far from wrong because it was such an amazing restaurant from the food to the service. Ping was friendly and kind the entire time. Loved every dish that was served. Especially the yellowtail hamachi, Brussels sprouts and the crab hand rolls. I can't remember the name of the drink I got but it was with tequila and it was sooooo good. This is definitely a great place to checkout and I'll for sure be going back next time I'm in town!

I loved this place! We had a reservation so no wait time, but even as we were eating the food came out really quickly. I've never really had handrolls like this, so I'm not sure if I can make comparisons, but I overall really liked them. The fish tasted really fresh and the seaweed is wrapped right before serving, which keeps it really crispy! I liked that they had set options on the menu to make decisions easier but also the option to add handrolls ala carte if you want more afterwards. Would come again!

Five star experience at Nori Handroll Bar. We came into Dallas for the day around lunchtime and stumbled upon this handroll bar. I am a sucker for a good handroll so I was excited! To my surprise, they had an amazing lunch special so my friend and I opted for that in addition to on of their specials for the day. Sharing was the move since we were eating our way through the city. For the special, we got the Kanpachi which is an amberjack with uni, caviar & gold flakes. This was divine and we both enjoyed it, plus felt oh so fancy with the caviar and gold flakes. For the lunch special, we actually shared it one special. This came with our choose of appetizer (we got the edamame), and choose 4 temakis thinking we'd get two each. The two I chose were the King Salmon and the Negihama, and my friend also got the King Salmon but she got the Maguro. To our surprise, the chef divided the handrolls we got differently in two so we actually got to try everything. I absolutely loved how they did that. The contents in each handroll were so fresh and the seaweed so crisp! Safe to say, I'll be back here if I'm every visiting in the area again.

I first came to this restaurant years ago during its soft opening and it instantly became one of my favorite spots... there have been ups and downs since then with quality, covid, and ownership change. I went recently this past week and am pleased to say the fish quality is truly at its best. Everything melted in my mouth and I had to even go back for seconds of some nigiri. If you're going I definitely recommend going for the hangry because the final 2 rolls make the experience 12/10.

Happy hour! Maguro Nigiri Salmon Nigiri Hamachi Nigiri

As a sushi addict - hands down best sushi in Dallas. The fish is unbelievably fresh. Hand rolls are to die for. And the price for what you're getting is unbeatable.

I'm a huge sushi snob and can honestly say how amazing this place is. You must come and support this incredible place. They cater to every customer and really make every piece stand out on its own. So simple yet so incredibly good.

Ask the Community - Nori Handroll Bar

Since they don't take reservations, should I expect a wait on Saturday night dinner time (if so how long)?

we had a group of 5 last saturday and we waited 15-25 mins!

    Does nori offer omakase?

Yes. When their dining room is open

    Does this place take reservations?

    No they do not.

Is this place like sugarfish in LA?

It is similar to KazuNori (also part of the Sushi Nozawa group) in LA, but personally, I think it's better than KazuNori.
