Went to Las Palmas for lunch and had a great meal of chicken fajitas. They offer the typical complementary chips and salsa. Service was friendly and attentive. Las Palmas has a very dark decor and is dimly light. It's a different setup from your average Mexican restaurant and is also very loud. Overall it's a unique and interesting place and a popular place for people to enjoy some great fajitas. read more

Went to Las Palmas for dinner around 6pm and we were able to get a table for 3 with no wait, which was really nice considering it's a little bit of a nicer restaurant! We were seated upstairs, which was quieter and had a nice atmosphere. It was pretty chilly up there, but to be fair, the rest of my family was totally fine and I was wearing a thinner top, so I may just be dramatic lol. Definitely not a big deal, but something to keep in mind if you tend to get cold in restaurants! We started with the queso blanco, which was actually really good. It definitely had a little bit of a kick to it, but I still really liked it. The chips were decent too. I also got a skinny marg with Tajín, which was pretty good and definitely on the stronger side, but still a good margarita! For three people, we shared the chicken fajitas and the #3 combo plate, and the portions were great. We actually had leftovers, which I was impressed by considering we were splitting two entrees between three people. The fajitas came with rice, beans, guac, sour cream, lettuce, and pico. I thought the fajitas were good overall, but the chicken was probably what kept this from being five stars for me. It wasn't quite as juicy or flavorful as some other fajitas I've had and leaned a little dry. Definitely not bad by any means, just nothing that really stood out to me. The combo plate was also good and came with a sour cream enchilada and tamales with beef. I'm honestly not a huge tamale person to begin with, so that may have just been me not ordering according to my own preferences. Food: Ordered the House Elotes, Hugo's Plate, as well as Fajita Fiesta (for one). The House Elotes was a nice appetizer to start, with a char, creaminess, and tang in each bite. Comes out of the kitchen, sizzling on a skillet, and is paired with homemade tortillas, as well as refried beans & rice, cheese, pico, guacamole, sour cream, and bone marrow butter. Okay!!! Las Palmas has officially been added to our work trip dinner rotation!! No reservation...just a walk party of 6 and they had a table for us...as long as we could be out by a certain time...about an hour and a half after we walked in. We were there to eat so if they were going to wine and dine us in that amount of time, we were there for it!! Everything was delicious, everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks and we are so glad we found this location and made it happen! I was looking forward to dinner here the entire day and it was worth it!! We had the queso blanco...it's got a kick...worth it! My wagyu fajitas were perfectly cooked medium rare and soooo flavorful!! I was my dessert in my pjs back at the hotel...the sopapilla cheesecake and ice cream held up perfectly and was everything I wanted it to be!! It's a dark atmosphere in the bar area, but the vibes were so cool. It wasn't too loud to where people were having to scream to converse...but it was not intimate where you could talk across the table softly with the other person hearing. I came here for my birthday dinner with a couple of friends and overall had a really great experience. A few important notes though: this place is SUPER loud, especially upstairs, so if you are trying to take your older parents somewhere for a nice dinner where you can actually catch up and have a conversation, this might not be the spot. Also, avoid the upstairs dining room if anyone has mobility issues. The stairs are a little sketchy in that dark space because you basically have to TRUST there is another stair step in front of you even though you can't see it. And a heads up, do not wander into the wrong bathroom upstairs like my husband did because the "men's" and "ladies" signs upstairs are also nearly impossible to read in the dark! But honestly, those are really my only complaints... The service and food were both very good. We had a couple of ordering fumbles. We got the regular queso, and then immediately watched another table get the tableside flaming queso and we were seriously bummed. Like, really bummed. That is definitely what I will be ordering next time. The chips and smoky salsa were excellent!! - and I always appreciate when everyone gets their own little portion of salsa so everyone can double dip without feeling like a heathen. I ordered the wagyu fajitas (the half portion), and it was still easily enough food for two people. I will say the meat was more like a filet mignon texture and less like the flavorful fajita meat I was expecting. My friend's pork fajitas were actually much better and had more flavor. When the manager stopped by to check on us, I had to announce my own birthday because apparently my friends were not going to help me out with that (some friends, huh?). They brought out a complimentary sopapilla cheesecake with a candle, which was a very nice touch. All in all, I loved the place and totally understand the hype. We came in on our trip to Dallas as this spot was highly recommended by friends. We ordered some dishes and drinks off the happy hour menu and everything was delicious! We ordered the crispy cheesy taco and tamales covered with queso. We ordered one chicken and one beef taco, so we could try each. Since the weather has been so nice lately, outdoor seating is super popular, so I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. This place has the best fajitas I ever had. I got the mesquite chicken fajitas. The chicken was so juicy & smoky. The bone marrow butter is the reason why it's so good. I wished it came with more than 3 tortillas or at least 4 since I don't put too much meat in my fajitas. I also tried the hickory grilled ribs. It was kinda salty, but the barbecue sauce was ok. The meat was very tender & falls off the bone. The fries that it comes with were alright. There was a little of wait, but I didn't mind since the food was good. Our food did take a while. My go-to spot if I can get a reservation. This place is always so popular, and for good reason. I went with my girlfriend on a Thursday evening and we were sat quickly after arriving. The goose in the garden drink is our favorite, however not on the menu any more. Isai and Kenia were helping us out all night and they were amazing! Accommodating, prompt, and great personalities! We love to leave friends with our servers, and it isn't hard to do with a staff such as that. Chips and salsa are always fresh, flavorful, and the perfect amount of spicy. I was introduced to Las Palmas at the food and Wine festival at the Arboretum recently and I knew that I had to visit the actual restaurant. I came here with my dad on a Sunday morning for brunch. We didn't order very many things unfortunately but we did try the Elote and flautas. I enjoyed the flautas, but the Elote was giving more of like a corn salad than actual Elote. I wasn't a really big fan and it was served with crackers which I found kind of odd. Chips and salsa were solid. Service was solid. Would definitely go back to try more items, just not a fan of the elote. The restaurant seems to have a really cute vibe, but I did think it was a little bit too dark especially for morning time. There was a long wait line but we told the server we can eat at the bar and got seated immediately which was nice. Otherwise, we wouldn't had made it to work on time. I got the Akausghi wagyu fajitas full size ($51). After I got the food, full size means double the portion on everything like meat, rice, beans, etc. I thought it would be double the meat only. I'm so happy. This was a great call. Dad and I came here for dinner and it was perfect. We came on a Monday at 630pm and it was packed but we did get a table outside with no wait. Surprisingly, it wasn't too hot. The service was top notch. I had my eye on the manager as soon as we came in (super cute ) the hand tattoo will be in my dreams tonight. Highly recommend sitting in the covered patio on a cooler Texas day if you're not a fan of extremely moody(read dark) lighting. Here's what we got: - Queso Blanco: Fantastic and highly recommend. The jalapeños and micro greens are what truly make the queso. Also love the fact that the queso itself is a thick boy. - Wagyu fajitas WITH BEEF TABLITAS: the renowned people's favorite. It's good, but not God's greatest gift on Earth, the way people describe it. The beef tablitas as an add on though were phenomenal. If it were just me going back to this place, I'd do a side of tablitas without the fajitas. - Birria tacos: solid. Would get again. - Sopapilla cheesecake: Delightful. Would get again. My wife and I walked in on a Saturday afternoon at 4:40pm and were quoted a 45 min to an hour wait. We were fortunately alerted in about 30 mins of a covered patio opening. Parking can be tricky so keep your eyes peeled for street parking near the restaurant. There is a sign that says there is parking at the back of the restaurant, but I haven't gone to see how it looks like. read more

I think it's the end of an era. Las Palmas was always a place I would recommend to any and everyone who comes to Dallas. I have been multiple times and it had been about a year since my last visit. A couple of weeks ago, we tried to squeeze in a reservation on our way home from traveling. We couldn't get in that weekend so I booked the reservation two weeks out because why not! It had already been too long since I have had the amazing wagyu fajitas. When we arrived, we were seated quickly so that was really nice. It was our first time being seated upstairs - not sure if that's why our experience wasn't great. The waiter also came pretty quickly and I ordered a margarita - my husband was still deciding. My margarita came out quickly but of course the waiter took 20 minutes to come back and get my husband's drink order. The ice in my rocks margarita was melted. I could not believe it because I have never had bad service here. My husband asked the waiter what was on draft and the waiter started to tell us and then his face changed and he told us that the draft beer is really flat. That he should order a bottle. That was kinda weird for such a "nice" restaurant. I swear this restaurant used to be nice. Our food came out in a timely manner. The food runners were really on top of it. But we probably didn't see our waiter for almost an hour after that. When we were finished, the waiter chatted with the table behind us for a bit and we were sure he was going to come to our table EVENTUALLY. It took maybe 20 minutes or longer until I started sitting with my purse on my lap, both me and my husband looking around the whole dining room, when a different waiter offered to clear our table. My husband asked for the check and our waiter magically appeared and the second waiter joked that "that was fast huh?" Absolutely insane. Our waiter had some visitors coming up from downstairs and I think this is why he was checked out. But it was so incredibly rude to pay literally no attention to our table. We are very easy customers. I cannot believe I waited two weeks to have the worst service in Dallas. The other Tex Mex restaurants in the area have way better service with equally good food. After all we don't need bone marrow in literally everything to enjoy a great restaurant. I can no longer recommend Las Palmas after this experience that made us feel so unwelcome and I have LOVED Las Palmas over the years. read more

The food is dialed in every single time. Chips perfectly salted. Salsas elite, especially the rojo which deserves federal protection. My forever order is the sour cream enchiladas and a mango frozen margarita. If consistency were a sport, Las Palmas would be undefeated. Period.
