There's a split plate fee and they voluntarily brought out veggies for my GF friends when they inquired if they could eat the chips, but they ended up charging us $6 for it. A smaller dining area which it can get very loud. They also offer a patio that wraps around the restaurant. Food and drinks were delicious and really enjoyed the service. Still one of our top five restaurants / stops anywhere in the US. Margaritas and authentic food here is unbeatable. Stopped in September for late dinner. Started with Queso Doce - Chips and Margaritas. Sandy and service team were amazing. Entrees this time were Enchiladas Blancas and Pescado Al Ajillo. Both were perfect. As before, if you are in the Knox/Henderson area - stop and have an amazing dinner. Parking is limited but street parking and the lot behind their lot is open and public too. Yes yes yes !! We've passed by here many times always wanting to try and last Thursday (5th) ! What a pleasant experience.. Arrived @ 5pm for early dinner / decided to sit inside .. Greeted immediately w chips/ salsa and water .. Everyone on the floor so professional and very friendly.. I love the space between the tables enough to enjoy your own but check out your neighbors food selection! Jose was amazing.. I definitely needed help with deciding on some many wonderful selections . I ended up with the brisket taco/ enchilada verede w chicken!!! Love love every bite and the green rice was on point!! So much food had to ask for a to go box and some how I got talked into the chocolate cake w raspberries!! Oh my my so moist and delicious... so glad that I got the dessert!! Overall, I enjoyed the food here but felt that it was overpriced for what you got. We started off with chips, salsas, and queso. The chips are of high quality and I found the salsa and queso quite enjoyable. We got margaritas (Classic and a mambo). The mambo was good but I felt that the classic was much better. For the entrees, we got the al pastor tacos and the blancas enchiladas. The flavor was well done on both plates and I would get them both again. I have been eating at this location since early 2022. The staff is usually great and I love the food and service. I knew they did not have a happy hour previously, but after a friend showed me their website listing happy hour I decided to forego las Palmas happy hour and try it out. As the video shows I verified that the happy hour was advertised, I arrive and inquired about the specials and to which my server said "no not here".. he also could not tell me which location had the happy hour. I showed the server the website and his response was "no happy hour" ... not a critique on the quality of food or service but feedback for management to a) correct their website and b) standby what you advertise. read more

Once we were seated, our waitress came and took our drink orders as well as brought us water and chips and salsa to the table. I appreciated the 2 different types of salsa. One was a red salsa that didn't look spicy, but it had a little kick, and there was also a chipotle salsa, it was very fresh. I ordered the sangria Roja to drink, it was very tasty, not too sweet, and I liked that it had brandy in it. I got pescado al ajillo, fish was cooked perfectly, the veggies were fresh, my carrots could have been good a little longer but overall very good. My daughter got the burger, nice size for the price. Place was cool, food was really good, service was below average. We were there for a birthday dinner for 3. One of the people who's birthday it was had the hot grease from an order of fajitas spilled all down his back and arm not only burning him but also ruining his shirt. Manager didn't come over, other than a "sorry" nothing was done. The least they could have done was comp his food since they ruined his $80 shirt. Also charged the birthday people for the deserts they brought out and charged someone for a drink that was sent back due to it tasting bad. The issues were strictly the service. The outside dining was great even though it was warm. We enjoyed the sunny day and breeze We were greeted and seated immediately and our server came over immediately. Chips and salsa appeared and these were yummy. Server gave us information on the catch of the day for the fish tacos- my favorite to order. COD was the catch and I was all in for the tempura kind of cooking. Husband got the brisket tacos. The portion sizes were really good. 2 tacos per order but they were large Brisket was well seasoned and tender. My fish tacos were really good with roasted corn and tomato. Very solid mexican food and strong cocktails at this Knox / Henderson gem. The chips and salsa were fresh, and the enchiladas were filling and flavorful. We especially enjoyed the mole sauce; it was delightful and had strong notes of chocolate. Service is quick and servers are attentive; the entire restaurant is essentially one big room so it's hard to get forgotten about. I live in the neighborhood and have frequented Doce Mesas often over the last several years. As of recent, I'm shocked by how they treat their customers and the quality of their food. I ordered the Chin Chin salad and there was multiple pieces of raw chicken within the meal. I expressed my concern to our waiter, and was met with extreme opposition. It quickly became a hostile environment, and as a single female dining on her own, extremely uncomfortable. Despite the raw chicken, my meal was not comped or offered to be swapped for something else. I'm sad to say, but I don't think I can ever dine here again after this experience. The food here is okay. It seems like a knock off version of Masero across the highway. The ambiance is upscale and a bit yuppy hipster. Very loud environment, with lots of families. The service was very prompt and attentive. The Chips & Salsa are good, vey thick chips if you like that. The Queso was VERY thick, in a good way. Delicious Queso, but again Masero's is better. I had the Chicken Enchiladas with Sour Cream; they were good, but nothing to write home about. The same can be said for the Brisket Taco & Chicken Enchiladas with Molé Sauce. Bordered on 3-4 , but the similarities with Masero's, which I rate at 4 made me lean to the 3 rating here. With all the other great Mexican options in the area, I won't likely be going back. read more

Doce Mesas is so beautiful and the food is so delicious! I personally enjoyed the dad's brisket tacos - the tomatillo sauce is great if you like a mild salsa. The pollo adobado sopes were a hit with our group and perfect for sharing. The drinks were equally as great and both desserts were the perfect amount of sweetness to end our dinner (pastel de leches and flan). Lastly, the service was great- our server was so knowledgeable! This place is very popular and I can see why - the decor is trendy, the food menu is varied, and it's in a great location. We came on a Saturday around noon. It was packed, but our server was attentive and our food came out at a good pace. We shared the guacamole for an appetizer - that is seriously some of the best guac I've ever had. Two of us also had their house margarita on the rocks - it is DELICIOUS. It's close to being competition for the restaurant that has my favorite margarita of all time. And trust me, that is a high bar. For entrees, a friend and I shared the Chin-Chin salad and Pollo Al Pastor tacos. They were kind enough to accommodate my slight pineapple allergy by putting them on the side. The Chin-Chin salad was incredible. The tacos were good too. Another friend got the Taco Salad and said it was good as well. The area is pretty busy so parking can be difficult, but they do offer valet. Overall, a great experience here. They don't currently take reservations and keep in mind that it's very popular, so you might have to wait for a table, but I think it's worth it. read more
