I justttttt could not love this place more. Mezcal margs, chips and various dips, and banging shrimp tacos. The service is so polite as well. What more could a girl want? I would like to mention that they nickel and dime you pretty hard. There's a split plate fee and they voluntarily brought out veggies for my GF friends when they inquired if they could eat the chips, but they ended up charging us $6 for it. Not the end of the world, but good to note!
Taco salad is amazing! Favorite one in the DFW area. Drinks are hit or miss- sometimes they are super strong and delicious and sometimes they taste not well. Saturday night and Friday nights the music is great and the servers bring the energy.
Service was great & the margarita was acceptable, but a little on the sour side for my taste. We had the number 4 and the mole enchiladas. The chicken enchilada verde and black beans were amazing. All other items were tasty but not stand outs. The place is quaint and clean.
Doce Mesas serves authentic tex mex with your favorite food and drinks. We went on a Saturday night and we were able to get a table with no reservation. A smaller dining area which it can get very loud. They also offer a patio that wraps around the restaurant. Food and drinks were delicious and really enjoyed the service. If you are looking for an upscale Tex mex spot this is your spot.
Yes yes yes !! We've passed by here many times always wanting to try and last Thursday (5th) ! What a pleasant experience.. Arrived @ 5pm for early dinner / decided to sit inside .. Greeted immediately w chips/ salsa and water .. Everyone on the floor so professional and very friendly.. I love the space between the tables enough to enjoy your own but check out your neighbors food selection! Jose was amazing.. I definitely needed help with deciding on some many wonderful selections . I ended up with the brisket taco/ enchilada verede w chicken!!! Love love every bite and the green rice was on point!! So much food had to ask for a to go box and some how I got talked into the chocolate cake w raspberries!! Oh my my so moist and delicious... so glad that I got the dessert!! Definitely will be back to try more selections in the near future!! Thank you guys for an awesome dining experience I can't believe we've never dined here before so so Worth it .
We were looking for a place to have a light supper, but was close to downtown Dallas. Doce Mesas came highly rated per Yelp, so we gave it a try. Not a large establishment, that's a good thing! We asked to be seated outside, because the weather was perfect. To our advantage, we had two waiters! Not sure why, but we wanted for nothing! Started with chips and two different salsas and a cold margarita. We the had the nacho supreme. All the above were great! Wonderful beef (great taste) and cheeses topped off with a fresh avocado. The table next to us ordered the cinco leches cake and it looked great !! Yes, we had to try it and I think you should too! When in Dallas, go to Dice Mesas. Go get Full!
The perfect place for lunch! Sat on the patio and enjoyed an amazing lunch and drinks! I got the taco salad which was the a huge serving with fresh food! I also got a margarita and mojito, which were delicious on a hot day! We sat on the patio and had the best time! The food was great and service was amazing
Had to have a phone fixed at the Apple Store and it was going to take longer than we anticipated so decided to get a bite. Walked around on McKinney and decided on Doce Mesas and so glad we stopped in. Everything was amazing. The margaritas the chips and dips, the food and omg the tres leches cake was to DIE for! We will be back again soon, worth a return trip, heck worth many return trips. Go, you can thank me later.
Overall, I enjoyed the food here but felt that it was overpriced for what you got. We started off with chips, salsas, and queso. The chips are of high quality and I found the salsa and queso quite enjoyable. We got margaritas (Classic and a mambo). The mambo was good but I felt that the classic was much better. For the entrees, we got the al pastor tacos and the blancas enchiladas. The flavor was well done on both plates and I would get them both again. Sitting on the patio is great on a nice day and the service was overall fine with no issues.
fast and friendly service. Hubby enjoyed his chicken Molay enchilada, but I did not enjoy my crispy chicken sandwich as it was way too spicy. Plus, it said it was served with bread and butter pickles and instead I got sour dill. French fries were kind of mealy probably won't be back for a while

I knew they did not have a happy hour previously, but after a friend showed me their website listing happy hour I decided to forego las Palmas happy hour and try it out. As the video shows I verified that the happy hour was advertised, I arrive and inquired about the specials and to which my server said "no not here".. he also could not tell me which location had the happy hour. I showed the server the website and his response was "no happy hour" ... not a critique on the quality of food or service but feedback for management to a) correct their website and b) standby what you advertise.
The service was very good, as soon as we walked in we were seated, we chose to sit on the patio. Once we were seated, our waitress came and took our drink orders as well as brought us water and chips and salsa to the table. I appreciated the 2 different types of salsa. One was a red salsa that didn't look spicy, but it had a little kick, and there was also a chipotle salsa, it was very fresh. I ordered the sangria Roja to drink, it was very tasty, not too sweet, and I liked that it had brandy in it. I got pescado al ajillo, fish was cooked perfectly, the veggies were fresh, my carrots could have been good a little longer but overall very good. My daughter got the burger, nice size for the price. I would definitely come again.
Everything was perfect. We shared the agua chile, al pastor tacos, and blackened salmon plate. We couldn't even pick a favorite, it was all so good. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town!

The food here was great! But the service here was bizarre to say the least. We had actually booked a reservation at another Doce Mesas location, but I did't know there was another location. So thinking we showed up for our reservation, this location says they don't take reservations. They stop at is anyway, which was nice. We were seated on the porch, and here's where things got weird. We ordered our drinks and when the drinks were delivered, we said we were ready to order, and the waitress, hesitated and then said she would be back. Kinda strange, but eventually we had our order taken. I ordered a mango agua fresca which was pretty good. The complementary chips and salsas were also really good. For an entree I had the Tempura Fried Fish Tacos. These were very good and the coleslaw served with them was very good- crunch and bright. Overall the food here is pretty solid. The service was a bit off, but not a deal breaker, just be prepared to wait a while to have your order taken. read more

Lovely is Doce Mesas. Sophisticated cozy white. Seamless connection of being seated in or out. A private club vibe with many loyal customers. Impeccable lunch service. Heavenly Mango Aqua Fresca. Delicious Chips and Salsas. Under seasoned Guacamole and Shrimp Lettuce Tacos. Just as fitting with being casually dressed or to the nines. An inviting spot I'll be back many times over for lingering chats, sips, and, nibbles. CHEERS! read more
Good food and excellent location. We took my mom there to celebrate her birthday and all enjoyed our food. Would have been 5 stars if the waiter had acknowledged we were celebrating a birthday. When we saw another table celebrating, we asked and learned it cost $15 for a piece of cake. It was a large piece of cake and absolutely worth the reaction from my mom. read more

Stumbled upon this place after husband did Yelp search - he wanted Mexican for lunch. Tucked away on a busy corner we ate outside since temperature inside was a little too cold for us. The outside dining was great even though it was warm. We enjoyed the sunny day and breeze We were greeted and seated immediately and our server came over immediately. Chips and salsa appeared and these were yummy. Server gave us information on the catch of the day for the fish tacos- my favorite to order. COD was the catch and I was all in for the tempura kind of cooking. Husband got the brisket tacos. The portion sizes were really good. 2 tacos per order but they were large Brisket was well seasoned and tender. My fish tacos were really good with roasted corn and tomato. Both dishes came with rice and slaw. Would go back again and try some of the other items on the menu. read more
This is my go-to neighborhood spot for Mexican food. The waitstaff is lovely and the restaurant itself is great for when the weather is nice. They open all the doors so every seat is a good one. The food and drinks are typical of a Mexican menu but more elevated. I can never leave without having at least one King Mambo margarita. read more
Small, quaint little restaurant off Knox. Th e margaritas are delicious and food is great, healthy, Mexican/american options. There is a nice patio for a good day off katy trail. I'd assume it gets pretty packed here on weekend nights so may need a reservation. read more

Very solid mexican food and strong cocktails at this Knox / Henderson gem. The chips and salsa were fresh, and the enchiladas were filling and flavorful. We especially enjoyed the mole sauce; it was delightful and had strong notes of chocolate. Service is quick and servers are attentive; the entire restaurant is essentially one big room so it's hard to get forgotten about. Loved the intimate and airy space; their patio was in full use and would be a great spot for happy hour. read more

The food here is okay. It seems like a knock off version of Masero across the highway. The ambiance is upscale and a bit yuppy hipster. Very loud environment, with lots of families. The service was very prompt and attentive. The Chips & Salsa are good, vey thick chips if you like that. The Queso was VERY thick, in a good way. Delicious Queso, but again Masero's is better. I had the Chicken Enchiladas with Sour Cream; they were good, but nothing to write home about. The same can be said for the Brisket Taco & Chicken Enchiladas with Molé Sauce. Bordered on 3-4 , but the similarities with Masero's, which I rate at 4 made me lean to the 3 rating here. With all the other great Mexican options in the area, I won't likely be going back. read more

Doce Mesas is so beautiful and the food is so delicious! I personally enjoyed the dad's brisket tacos - the tomatillo sauce is great if you like a mild salsa. The pollo adobado sopes were a hit with our group and perfect for sharing. The drinks were equally as great and both desserts were the perfect amount of sweetness to end our dinner (pastel de leches and flan). Lastly, the service was great- our server was so knowledgeable! If you're in the Knox area, give Doce Mesas a try! read more

I live in the neighborhood and have frequented Doce Mesas often over the last several years. As of recent, I'm shocked by how they treat their customers and the quality of their food. I ordered the Chin Chin salad and there was multiple pieces of raw chicken within the meal. I expressed my concern to our waiter, and was met with extreme opposition. It quickly became a hostile environment, and as a single female dining on her own, extremely uncomfortable. Despite the raw chicken, my meal was not comped or offered to be swapped for something else. I'm sad to say, but I don't think I can ever dine here again after this experience. Customers, and specifically women, beware. read more
