The drinks were nonstop, and the chips and dips were awesome. Our waiter, Jose, made ordering easy. We got chicken Flatuas and Fish tacos OMG when I say the best Fish Tacos I have ever had. I've been to several restaurants since then, and none even came close to the fish tacos. The tacos were flavorful, the fish was well-seasoned, there was crisp coleslaw in the taco, and there was this sauce that was the highlight of my meal. This is a must-try at least once. read more

We found this place with the new Yelp AI Assistant when I searched a place that had great Mexican Food and great Agua Frescas. I have to say overall, this place hit on both of those accounts! Walking in we were seated immediately and we sat and took in the atmosphere. Mexico was playing in the World Cup so there was a good energy in the place and they were busy,but not packed. I ordered the Shrimp Tacos and they were really good. My only complaint for the evening here was the food service was a little slow. Even being sat immediately we were there for an hour and 15 minutes, which seem so long to me, so I am dropping a star for that. read more

came here on a whim bc we were in the area and it was yummy. they had a special going on so lunch specials were offered all day and happy hour on drinks. we both had agua frescas and just added liquor to those. they were thicker agua frescas than im accustomed to still delicious though! the steak was good, everything was really flavorful. read more

We were in the area running errands and craving fajitas, and this was the closest Tex-Mex spot. The place looks great with fun, welcoming vibes. The restaurant was clean, the servers were very kind, and it definitely felt family-owned. We ordered the fajitas for two, and the kids got kids' meals. Our appetizer platter was forgotten, but we were okay with it since we ended up full from our meals anyway. Came to Dallas and found this little place! Chips are nice and 3 little dips! A warm black bean dip was delicious! My son ordered the ribeye fajita on the menu however they did not have them so he settled on the beef! They were pretty good! The flour tortillas were "store bought" the onions cooked down really nice! The chicken in the enchiladas was a little dry and the sauce was not very warm however they had a pretty good flavor! Honestly don't understand the hype surrounding this place. I'd rate this way below Mi Cocina, which is pretty mid. Chips: bland Salsa: salty, probably bottled, a little heat, otherwise bland Bean dip (complimentary with chips) very good flavor, nice touch Iced tea: VERY watery, almost clear, tiny bit of ice, seldom refilled, even though the place was only 1/3 full; the server later brought me sweet tea,(yuck), no ice in it, and insanely sweet, would've had to start insulin therapy after imbibing Chicken flauta: SO disappointed. Part of each flauta was burnt black. I was surprised they served them. The meat and tortillas were literally black and all 4 were just dry, burnt, no chicken flavor at all. Very little chicken in each. Guacamole side: maybe a couple of tablespoons, probably less. Again, very little flavor, but high chemical/ salt taste. Didn't taste lime, onions, cilantro, or peppers. Server acted rushed the entire time, no smiles, so did the host. After reading and hearing all about the "friendly" atmosphere and service, I was surprised. I REALLY wanted to like this place- small, independent, close by. Sad to say, I most likely won't return. read more

Very good Mexican food in a nice quiet atmosphere with very friendly service. We started with beef and cheese nachos which were a 10 out of 10. In fact my wife said she will get a full order for dinner next time. She got the beef enchiladas and I got the beef fajita Chimi. Both were good, but lacked a little bit of flavor. Woof, I am zero for four in getting good Mexican food in Texas. Seriously, what the heck? MB and I went to this restaurant hoping for their famous margaritas and good Tex-Mex. She liked her quesadilla, but I liked none of my food, nor the margaritas. MB ordered spicy marg but it was not and I found them to be weak and sour. The guacamole "prepared table side" was not, it just arrived from the kitchen and was just okay. The chips were unsalted and too thick. The salsa and beans were also just okay. The tortilla soup and the bean soup both had a watery broth MB likened to dishwater. No me gusta. I think I'll quit seeking authentic Mexican food in Texas and just keep getting the good stuff here in Minnesota. read more

Table Side Handmade Guacamole 8.5/10 - Be sure to tell them you want it made "at the table", otherwise they make it in back. Very good. Extremely creamy with small chunks of avocado (I don't like big chunks - too much). I skipped the jalapeños, and it's definitely a repeat item for me. Beautiful flavor and enjoyable. When in Dallas you have to go for tex-mex. My husband's go to is Mi Cocina, which is a solid option, but I suggested we try something new this trip. And thanks to Yelp we found ourselves at Gabriela & Sofia's Tex-Mex. We ordered some guacamole, which they make tableside and it was sooo good. And then we ate our weight in chips and guac. I could have been done eating for the night after that, but my husband and I split some fajitas. They were nice enough to do half shrimp (for me) and half chicken (for my husband). I also ordered a skinny margaritas, which I should have ordered sans salt because it was way too salty for my liking and I couldn't have more than a few sips. Overall, some great tex-mex. Was told to come here and we were not disappointed! The ambiance of this cute little place is chill and the service was great. Walked in on a Sunday evening and were immediately greeted and seated. We enjoyed the chips and dips- black bean dip and a red salsa, as well as tried the queso- kids loved the queso! ** a little tip for the red salsa- it was great by itself BUT! Was even better when we added lime! Hubby had Pacifico and I had a skinny margarita, which was tasty and boy did I NOT NEED ANOTHER. Lol the food was delish- we had the chicken flautas, cheese enchiladas, chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce, and tostada with ground beef. All yummy! The sauce on my fish was delicious. Son and daughter in law got chicken and beef fajitas for 2 and it was enough food for three to four people. A lot of places skimp on sides but these had lots of peppers, onions, and potatoes and meat was super tender. Only comments needed to add were prices were higher than normal but sure that was due for extra quality and serving size. So if you want quality and quantity it is definitely the place to go. If this was review was based on the food alone, I would give it 5 stars but unfortunately my overall experience wasn't as great. I arrived on a rainy Sunday, and was surprised by how rude the woman at the front desk was. The AC was on blast and when she tried to seat me in an area directly under the vent, I politely asked if I could be seated elsewhere. She got an attitude & response "it's cold everywhere". My waiter on the other hand was the complete opposite. He was very kind and patient (I was indecisive on what to order). After a few minutes, i went with his recommendation and I'm so glad I did, I highly recommend the chicken enchilada with sour cream. I received two rice portions because I don't eat beans, I like the fact that the rice was not overly soft. I initially ordered a virgin strawberry daiquiri, but it tasted so bad I had to send it back. To my surprise I was told the manager ( or whomever was in charge) does not allow that. The waiter than decided to talk to that individual who allowed me to switch my drink. The ambiance is more laidback, homey vibes, def more of a casual place. Overall, I would probably not come here again unless I was in the area, and would recommended training for the hostess, because her attitude was such a turn off. read more

This was an amazing experience! The Carne Asada was delicious! The flavor was wonderful, and the portion was perfect. The brisket tacos were great, with generous portions. Margaritas are good, and plentiful, but not particularly strong. This brings us to the best part. The Denny's Enchiladas are so much more than chicken enchiladas! I know this, because I mistakenly ordered the chicken enchiladas on my second visit. The difference between the two was so great, I ordered the Denny's enchiladas after eating half the chicken enchiladas. Don't get me wrong, the chicken enchiladas were good, but nothing particularly special. The Denny's Enchiladas are hands down the best chicken enchiladas in Dallas! read more

The food and atmosphere has always been the best. I've had a lot of their entrees and they are all delicious. Being from El Paso their food is more authentic than most other Mexican restaurants. The Pollo con Hongos is one of my favorites, the table side guacamole is amazing. Tortilla soup, salads, quesadillas and nachos are so good. I like this place so much I'm there every Monday meeting friends and some Wednesday's. All the staff and the owner are all amazing. My FAVORITE hidden little gem for authentic Tex-mex. They have the best fajitas in town hands down, and I don't say that lightly!! The fajitas for two are top notch while served with combo beef, chicken, shrimp and veggies (onions, mushroom, squash and zucchini) along with all the other fixins. Happy hour is also available, which their drinks are strong, but their bar isn't as popular as their food menu. Service is genuine and the people here are eager to please.
