Five-Spice Pork Belly Bahn Mi
Megan L.

I like that the menu was relatively simple. It was quite easy to make a decision with 3 people. Bahn Mis: My friends ordered the grilled lemongrass chicken (4/5) and the five-spice pork belly bahn mi (4/5) respectively. They were quite impressive, especially the chicken. The five-spice pork belly was marinated just as well, but I would prefer the chicken. However, I was disappointed by tempeh satay bahn mi (2/5). I only tasted the daikon and the vegetable. Not so much on neither tempeh nor satay. I wouldn't recommend them. Bao Bun - Bao Trios (soft shell crab - 5/5, five-spice pork belly - 4/5, vietucky fried chicken - 3.5/5): All three of us agreed that soft shell crab was the best. Five-spice pork belly is eh. I am not so sure if vietucky fried chicken is the appropriate name since there's kimchi in it. The kimchi was indeed outstanding and complement the slightly bland fried chicken well, but because there's kimchi, it's more Korean than Viet...? But yeah, if I go back, I would 100% order the soft shell crab bao bun again. Sides: - Red Curry Mac N Cheese 4.5/5: Just a disclaimer, I am a sucker for mac n cheese. I am surprised how well the slightly sweetness of the red curry complements the mac n cheese so well. And it's not too spicy (red curry technically is not too spicy). - Sriracha Fries 4/5: My friends who love sriracha love this. I am not very biased towards this so I don't have much to say. But my friends love this - great for folks who love sriracha.

This was my second time here as an out of towner. It's been a few years and the quality still hasn't dipped. The bread is airy and crispy. The ingredients are fresh and bright. The meat is tender and seasoned well. All around Bahn Mi Station is making incredible sandwiches. I ordered a lemongrass chicken bahn mi and it was devoured quickly. I added sriracha and jalapeños to compliment the pickled carrots, onion, cilantro and avocado. Not to mention they added plenty of (aoili?) sauce that was so great I wish I had a cup to dip the sandwich in.

Fast casual Vietnamese cafe with nice menu. Easy access off Sylvan Avenue. Clean place with 2 and 4 tops and communal table with stools. Plenty of covered patio seating too. Free Parking on Sylvan Ave or in Sylvan Thirty strip mall lot. Friendly and fast service. Tasty Vietnamese classic sandwiches and bao buns, salads, & appetizers. Soft drinks, beer, etc. Casual ambience with contemporary music playing.

BANH MI SALAD

This place is so refreshing the food is delicious I love the kale salad and I'm hooked on the Sriracha fries just make sure you add extra sauce the condiment containers are very small. Everything I've tried here has not disappointed and the cashier is so kind.

Dallas doesn't exactly scream Vietnamese, but hey why not switch it up from time to time? Manh mi station is primarily Vietnamese subs, which happens to be one of the sandwiches I find most enjoyable. Pretty simple concept: order at the counter kiosk, grab a table and wait for the food to be delivered table side. I go for the spring rolls and the pork belly banh mi. The rolls are extra crispy and come with a sweet dipping sauce. Satisfaction achieved! Now on to the main character. Did I mention it is 5 spice pork belly? Who can possible resist? The sandwich itself is enormous and comes filled with a generous portion of pork belly.....tender and flavorful. The one downside, the bread(which I know Is normally crispy in a typical banh mi) might be a little too crispy and doesn't have enough chew. But still a good sandwich overall.

BUFFALO UN-CHICKEN
Maeleth C.

Ahhhh!!!!! What a successful banh mi excursion. The bread was the perfect level of crunch and the buffalo unchicken was so juicy with the perfect buffalo sauce flavor. There's not much else to say, they had quick and prompt service, and the establishment had a cute, modern aesthetic.

Ratings from a teen and a pre-teen: They loved it. They raved about how great it was, although I've been to authentic Vietnamese places in Arlington and Richardson that serve legit bánh mì and bánh bao in those cash-only spots. That said, since it's not too spicy or overly seasoned, I can see why it's rated the "top bun bao" spot by folks new to Vietnamese cuisine. The spot isn't even owned by a Vietnamese family (Thai owned). It's a vegan-friendly spot, which is encouraging to see in this area. The interior is immaculately clean, and the decor is subtle yet bold with accent wall enhancements. The menu is short, straightforward, but rewarding. On the flip side: When you walk in, there is an order line and a pick-up line. The college student cashier had us waiting five minutes until the owner in the kitchen flagged that we needed to order. There is a large iPad-like kiosk facing the cashier that was offline (during lunch hour, no less), and we were asked to move to the pickup line to place our order. While the ordering took about 10 minutes, the food was out in less time than that. I'll return but only if my kids ask me to. Catch me outside in Arlington or Richardson Viet supermarkets instead.

Pork belly bahn mi

Nice little place. Hardly anyone there on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Say outside on the patio. Peaceful. Didn't really care for the bahn mi. Good bun. Not enough crunchy veggies and the pork was more like sweet pulled pork from a Texas barbecue than a traditional bahn mi. Four stars for the ambiance but the bahn mi was meh. Seems like I remember it being better last time I was there several years ago.

I'll be honest, I don't remember exactly what I ordered (lol), but I do remember enjoying the food and the overall vibe, which says a lot. The ambiance is one of my favorite parts--this area is lively, walkable, and full of shops and restaurants all along the same street, making it perfect for a night out or a casual stroll. It's definitely a place I'd bring friends who are visiting from out of state. Great atmosphere, solid food, and a fun neighborhood to explore. I'd absolutely come back again.

I was hoping the crispy rice tuna would cure my tuna craving, but the rice was very hard and chewy and I couldn't finish the rice :( my first thought when I took a bite of the tuna was "it tastes like a low quality tuna salad sandwich". It had been sitting out for a while and had an odd taste to it and wasn't fresh. I wouldn't recommend it. I would come back to see how the rest of the food is since the drinks and vibe were great! The service was slow, but kind and helpful.

Nice and saucy while still being very crispy and juicy. Was my favorite dish we ordered. Pad Thai- (16.5$)- 8.5/10 Came with a fried egg, shrimp, and chicken. Had a hint of spice that elevated it from good to great. Curry Laksa Ramen- (16$)- 9/10 Very flavorful curry broth. Noodles were excellent and also came with tofu and a boiled egg. When we walked in, the hostess had a poor attitude and was off putting. Unfriendly and borderline rude. We made sure to get there as soon as they opened because we knew it would be dead, and we'd have better luck at quicker service. Unfortunately, they sat us outside because we had our ESA animal in an enclosed carrier after grilling us about what services he performs, and I believe we were forgotten about since we were the only ones on the porch. It was a very warm day with high humidity. I asked the hostess if she could make sure the fans were on since it was so hot, and she asked, "So, you want me to turn them off?" We only ordered two apps of Roti Canai, one order of the twice friend wings, and an order or the donuts (all were ordered at once to help speed things along since it was so hot outside.) It took quite a while, and the wings came out soggy and cold, which is not the norm. A thunderstorm was coming in, and we had been waiting on our donuts for at least 20 minutes at this point. My husband informed the hostess that we would have to either cancel the order or move inside since it was about to start raining. She flippantly said that she would have to ask the manager first if we were allowed inside. We were so turned off that it really ruined the experience, and it was not the way we wanted to celebrate Mother's Day. The donuts finally came out (also cold), and I had my husband just give her the credit card without the check so we could hurry up and get off the porch before it started coming down. We rushed through the dessert and left. Not loving our experience and not sure if we'll be back until the attitude and service changes. We're bummed because we were always a fan of this place until now.
