This is the 2nd Vietnamese restaurant I've been to in Dallas, in search of a good Bun Bo Hue noddle soup. It wasn't bad, but it isn't the best. I was surprised that it didn't come with bean sprouts, which is a must. The broth was decent, the meat was tender, and the noodle was soft... I give it a 7.5/10. I would come back when I have a bun Bo hue craving since it's the closest Vietnamese restaurant to me. But I would also like to try their seafood tom yum next time. I love good pho, and I love not having to drive far (or at all) to get it! I like spicy foods, but not stupid spicy foods. The Curry Chicken Pho was the perfect level of spice, and the perfect size, too (at least for a hungry, food-lovin' 26-year-old like myself). My favorite part about my visit though was how flawlessly the server put my girlfriend's leftover pho into a to-go container. He was the embodiment of calm, cool and collected. Flawless execution. I ordered takeout here so will just be reviewing the food. A great Vietnamese spot in uptown Dallas that has all of your favorites. From pho, vermicelli, spring rolls, dumplings, and banh mi. I got the vermicelli bowl with a choice of protein, lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, chopped peanuts, in a fish sauce. The dish was really delicious and the portion size was pretty generous as well. Pho Crimson Cafe is located in Dallas. There isn't designated parking for the restaurant, so you will need to find street parking, or a parking garage in the area. We were able to find parking around the corner. Upon arrival, it was not busy. There was maybe one or two other groups seated already once we arrived. Our group of two was seated quickly. My boyfriend and I decided to order the Crimson Wings (5 chicken wings deep fried and toss with salt and pepper) to share. The chicken wings were smaller than I expected and pretty dry. We each ordered a Vietnamese Iced Coffee, which was fine. Nothing special about it. It was quite concentrated. I ordered the Crimson's Special Pho and he ordered the Tom Yum Pho. The pho were both good, but again nothing special. I found it pretty odd that when we received our pho, the bean sprouts, jalapenos, etc. that usually come on a side dish were already in the bowls. Not sure if that's normal for this restaurant given the table we were seated at was SMALL and there was no room for another dish. read more

Every time I come here it's always so great! This is my boyfriend and my go to spot for our pho fix. We both usually get the Crimson special which has all the beef meats! Not authentic pho! My fav place for pho in Dallas area was closed so I decided to give this a try. The prices for pho was $13-$16 which is pushing it but only valid if the food was above average. The portions are bigger and what was weird was that they put all the toppings IN the soup versus on the side. It made everything kind of soggy. The broth it self was bland and very greasy. The sides of my bowl was stained with yellow oil. I see other similar reviews so I'm sure it's not just me. Service and seating was great but I'd rather recommend Vietnam Restaurant nearby. Disappointing Customer Service Experience I wanted to share my daughter's experience from visiting Pho Crimson Cafe yesterday. Unfortunately, the service was very poor and left a bad impression. She asked for a plate of vegetables to be served separately, and the waiter flat-out told her "No," saying the cooks and chef would get mad at him. That response alone felt unprofessional and unnecessary. When her stew arrived, it tasted unusually sweet -- and since she's very sensitive to sugar, she mentioned this to the waiter and asked if there was any sugar in it. Instead of trying to help or check with the kitchen, he insisted there was no sugar and refused to remove the dish from her bill when she said she couldn't eat it. Overall, she left disappointed and frustrated. The waiter's attitude was dismissive and unhelpful, and the lack of basic customer care really stood out. A restaurant experience should never make you feel uncomfortable for simply asking a polite question or expressing a concern. Hopefully management takes steps to improve both their customer service and communication with guests. read more

I miss Bruce. He always made sure the quality of the food was good and that everyone was properly taken care of. I'm not at all a picky eater, but I am a big believer of food being made correctly if you're paying for it, especially in this economy. I always come here, so good no complaints any of the times I've came before. Just recently they have been very greedy with the protein portion of the pho and sometimes the noodles. I have to order double even then it's looks like what should have have been regular ! When I ask for condiments for my pho (Hoison) (chili oil) they seem to always put just 1 or 2 packets and a small chili oil. Maybe I should look for another pho spot around? read more

We've passed this place so many times but never tried them out, today we stopped in. Best decision ever!! We arrived around 1:30ish so traffic was dying down. They had a good music playlist going which I enjoyed. Very clean inside with a nice atmosphere. For the food- We started off with the pork spring rolls, so good!! I ordered Chicken Pho and my husband ordered Beef Lo Mein. Again, so good and delicious! The portions are very generous and worth the price. I didn't get the guys name but he showed us to our table and waited on us. He was so friendly and attentive. I wanted to try the Vietnamese Iced Coffee and he was so helpful lol he wanted to make sure I didn't drink it in one gulp and give myself a panic attack. It's very strong but OMGOSH!! Delicious!! While the focus of the menu is Vietnamese with features such as Pho, Bahn Mi and Spring Rolls, they also offer a variety of other Southeast Asian dishes, including; Pad Thai, Lo Mein and Korean BBQ. There's even a very unique Korean BBQ Burrito! The décor is warm and relaxed, with an upscale urban feel, and the service is very prompt and friendly. I began my meal with a Grilled Pork Spring Roll and a Peach Tea with Jelly (if you're not accustomed to this sort of drink, it's not like the jelly you'd smear on bread, it's like little, firm cubes of Jell-o). The Spring roll was filled with delicious Grilled Pork accompanied by crunchy sticks of Carrot and Cucumber, Fresh Shredded Lettuce and a tasty Peanut Sauce for dipping. The Tea was very refreshing. It was like I could taste the fuzz of the Peach, and I got pieces of Jelly in each sip! It was difficult to select my main dish. Pho and Bahn Mi both sounded so good, and I love Lo Mein and Pad Thai, but I just couldn't resist trying the Korean BBQ Burrito! Come on! Grilled Pork Short Rib with Kimchi, Rice and Grilled Onions and Jalapeno wrapped in a Burrito! How can I NOT order that!? Now don't expect a giant burrito the size of your head, but this isn't loaded with a lot of Lettuce and Refried Bean filler either! All the flavors were represented with nearly every bite, but it was a little difficult to keep together, so I'd advise small bites. I don't get to Dallas very often, but this place is worth the trip. We visited on New Year's Eve during the day and were seated immediately. They had plenty of seating and were not crowded at all. Service was fast, but our server was a bit rude. Pho Crimson was just ok. The restaurant is located at a busy intersection and easy to find. After reading several reviews from other yelpers, my family decided to give it a try. I had the tom yum pho soup. I wish I could pinpoint why I thought it was average but it's just a little bit of everything. The seafood in the soup texture was off maybe previously frozen or defrosted and refrozen. I am not too sure. the soup lacked the strong lemon grass flavoring I would expect from a tom yum soup. I don't remember seeing any kaffir or tasting it either. Instead it was tomato and salt mainly. The noodles were average, veggies- average, portion -average, service - average. The atmosphere did remind me of some great pho places I've been too. Roof was leaking, bathrooms are dirty but unfortunately the food didn't stack up.
