Young Coconut Juice
Ruth G.

This is great hangover food, but not a Thai place I'd go to on a regular basis! We always get Pad See Ew at Thai restaurants, we're not from here, so we decided to try it out! The noodles were covered in oil, it was way too much oil...kinda soggy. The chicken in the noodles was dry. However the food was hot and spice level was perfect! Love that they have sides of chili oil available to purchase for extra spice. Coconut water was not what I expected. States in the menu that it has the coconut pulp in the water, usually when I see that I see bits and pieces of pulp, but this drink had two huge pieces of coconut so I couldn't drink it (see pictures) it was interesting! We're hung over so the food was still bomb, but not a place we'd go to again. Service was meh. She didn't say hi just asked for name and handed it to me. Didn't even really look at me... just kinda odd!

Drunken Noodles

Service was quick but food wasn't that good. This is the first time I've ordered take out from this location and I always get the same thing drunken noodles level 3 spice, xtra noodles, and mixed veggies along with either the crab cream rolls or the veggie rolls. Not here to complain about the rolls though, the drunken noodles seemed over cooked, too crispy, and have a peculiar aroma. A couple bites in and I realized I couldn't stomach eating the rest. I'm more disappointed in the food but other than that. Nice staff, calm environment, and decent service

Basil Fried Rice

It was a good spot to get a light lunch. We wanted to try something homey so we decided to try out this thai/lao place. It is more like a take out/ fast food place, not so much a sit down and order. You have to go up to the counter and order and then sit down. We got a few items on the menu to try. The basil fried rice was good, it had a good amount of flavor of the basil. The thing I enjoy the most was the pad see ew, it was spicy and delicious. I am a high tolerance spice person, so their spicy wasn't spicy at all. However, if you don't have high tolerance, just stick to the low or medium. The tom yum soup was too tart/sour. I didn't not enjoy that dish, the thai tea was oka, it wasn't the best thai tea I have had. The rib bits was good and crispy and so was the chicken wings. The sausage was oka, I perferred the spicy one and this was kind of flavorless. The chicken wings were okay, it was kind of on the try side. The beef jerky was oka, it didnt taste any different and just more sweet. The plating of the food was in takeout containers, it just feels awkward to sit down and eat the food in take away containers. Oh well it is what it is. The services was good, they brought us our food. The food came out fast.

Fresh Rolls

I've had Zaap a handful of times and I've enjoyed it. I usually get the pad see ew, pad woon sen, or mango sticky rice. Today I ordered the fresh rolls to go as well as the cream cheese rolls. Unfortunately it was a complete miss. The cream cheese rolls were ok, kind of dry on the inside. The fresh rolls were filled about 85% with iceberg lettuce... (I've never seen a fresh roll with iceberg lettuce in it ever). To charge someone $10 for mostly iceberg lettuce wrapped in rice paper is disgraceful. I don't know if they were running out of all the other ingredients so they filled it up with mostly lettuce or something, but that is crazy.

Excellent place for Thai/Laotian takeout! Nearly all the foods here are rich and tasty, with a diverse assortment of textures, flavor palates, and types of dishes (ranging from salads, soups, meats, rice/noodles, drinks, and desserts). The staff is helpful and kind here as well. During one of the times I ordered takeout here, they were running about 5 minutes late with my order and apologized profusely and offered a drink to me for free for the wait (great customer service!) A few things to note: first, they can vary spice levels (including none/level 0) but I'd recommend going lower, as most dishes are quite spicy by default. I would say mild/ level 1 is a good baseline. Second, their Thai iced tea is really, really condensed and sweet. We split it into three cups and mixed them with water, meaning that one of their regular Thai Iced teas can serve 3 people (which is great, considering it's rather expensive). Last is that, for some reason, their in-person orders are about $1 cheaper across the menu than over Yelp's online menu (maybe due to operational costs), so bear that in mind if you order online. Overall, would definitely go back!

15. ZAAP Combo with wings

Sooooo deliciously spicy. I am a glutton for punishment and asked for level 10 spice out of 5 and they delivered! Generous portion sizes and quick walk up service. It took longer waiting to order than it did for my food to come out. And it was fresh, to boot! I will definitely be hitting up the location closer to home in hopes that they maintain the level of quality and service I received here. I would definitely recommend the pad woon sen and combo with papaya salad. Not pictured but the garlic riblets were to die for.

Got it delivered from this place for the first time. I wanted Thai hot being the hottest but it is not spicy at all. I think the portion size is good for the price and also the taste.

I love Zaap! I wish it was still in HEB area! Only place where I can get a papaya salad, sticky rice, and meat choice combo. That's my go to authentic Laos dishes and usually I have to buy all three separately. But here I can buy the combo! The Laos papaya salad is legit ! They actually use the correct sauces for it. I've tried some other dishes here and my fav so far is the drunken noodles. It was excellent ! The basil fried rice is good but we had some better at their other locations. Please rebuild in HEB area! We need more authentic Asian food there !

Every time I come visit my son and his family in Texas, I made sure we stop by for lunch @ZAAP. This is my first visit in this location and about 12 minutes away from the Dallas Lovefield airport. Zaap Kitchen serves authentic Lao and Thai cuisine in the Dallas area. Its friendly staff and casual environment feels like home. This location has a wall art that catches your eye as soon as you enter the restaurant. I love art and so I really appreciate any artist's creativity snd gifted talent. For appetizers we ordered the CRAB CREAM CHEESE ROLLS , Filling is a concoction of imitation crab meat, cream cheese, carrots, and white onions wrapped in rice paper and then deep fried with with a thin sweet & sour dipping sauce on the side. My favorite signature dish is the DANCING GARLIC RIBLETS , They are Fried savory , tender pork riblets topped with fried garlic. And mind you you' ll sure be dancing while nibbling on these yummy riblets. My grandkids and daughter in law's best loved choice is the PAD SEE Ew-Sweet Soy Sauce Noodles which has Thick wide rice noodles with egg, carrots, broccoli, & white pepper and your choice of meat. We ordered 1 with shrimps and another order with beef. They were both equally yummy and heavenly flavorful. My son pretty much eats everything and anything served. Actually he loves the riblets so I got 2 servings of those. I can't pass on the PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE , that's my must have staple food right there. Rice, Eggs, cashews, pineapple, raisins, peas, carrots, white onions, green onions, and tomato were all blended in a mouthwatering tasty smoky flavor. Pineapple chunks were so sweet and very well added to the authenticity of a Thailand cuisine. Gotta have those THAI ICED TEA!!! And my son his LAO ICED COFFEE to perk him up from a graveyard shift till 8am then came straight to drive 2 hours to pick us up from the airport by noon. Always a blessing to visit family and good restaurants as well. Total meal $75

Come for the wings, stay for the noodles! Some of my favorite drinks noodles I've tried in Dallas thus far, and they really don't hold back with the spiciness! I went with a 4 level but will probably tone it down next time, but appreciated the flavor and huge portion! The wings are some of the crispiest I've had, while still staying plenty juicy.

S U M M A R Y My absolute favorite Thai place in DFW. I will stand tall on that hill. I always get the same thing, and it never lets me down. T A S T E Basil Fried Rice : The All-Star. I'm obsessed with rice, it is my favorite carb. Probably because I am Nigerian. Moving on. I absolutely love basil fried rice I always customize it to have all three meats: chicken, beef and shrimp. I also add bean sprouts to it and extra onions. I usually get spice level 3/5 and you can definitely taste it in the rice. I also get their chili sauce on the side which I add to the rice to give it some extra heat. The rice is always a little bit al dente, a little sweet, a lot of umami with that soy sauce and just bursting with flavors from all of the vegetables that they put in there like mushrooms, baby corn and other stuff. Wings : perfection in a wing. I never eat dry wings I usually like a sauce but a lot of Asian wings are not necessarily wet but have a lot of flavor. And these wings do not disappoint. They are sweet and salty and perfectly crispy. They have a strong garlic flavor and I am salivating just thinking about them. Riblets : These are AMAZING as well. They are little pork bites. They have the exact same flavor as the wings. I don't know how - but it works and I often can't choose between the two. Drunken noodles : This is my second favorite dish to get at a Thai restaurant and this is what holds this place back from five stars. Unfortunately I've had better drunken noodles elsewhere. I don't like that they use chopped up beef in the noodles (whereas it is strips in the rice). Also, the spice does not carry in this dish. I always get a 3/5 and it tastes like there's not one bit of chili pepper in there. Thai tea : There is much better Thai tea out there. This one is subpar. Malai kitchen has better Thai tea. S E R V I C E Service is always great because the interactions are minimal. There's one counter where you order your food or pick up your food and then you can choose to either sit at a table or leave. No one serves you beyond that. A M B I E N C E The inside is small and super cute. The outside is a half occupied strip mall in uptown? (what do we call this area lol) P R I C E - 12.99$ fried rice or drunken noodles (3$ surcharge for shrimp) - 3.99$ Thai tea - 8.99$ Wings or riblets R A T I N G 1 star off because the spice in the drunken noodles needs to improve.

It seems to me that this should not happen ever, but I grant that it's possible that it was an honest mistake. Consequently, we get to spend some scarce weekend time to go to the business and get the duplicate-double charge reversed tomorrow, and will be hesitant to return in the future on the heels of this error. Dining out is a treat until you find that you've been gouged with an obvious double charge. I recommend that you check your statements for recent visits here to ensure that the same error was not inflicted on you as well. Update: we returned to Thai Thai today to give them a chance to make the chain of events described above right, and they fell significantly short. The woman who gave us our refund (for the pre-tax amount, after asking us what we wanted and replying the full amount with tip) did not apologize for our troubles, or offer any additional concessions to make up for their error (running our card TWICE for different amounts at the same time, after giving it to our waiter). I asked for a gift certificate for our troubles/their error, and she refused, still with no apology. See you never again, Thai Thai, for double charging us and doing the bare minimum (not even an apology) to address their "mistake."

This location is takeout only, and its location in Victory Park makes it a convenient spot for quick and delicious food. The first time I came I had the crispy wings, vegetable rolls, and the Pad Kee Mao. The wings were huge and meaty - real chicken. Nothing like what you get in mass quantities at places dedicated to wings. The wings were sprinkled with fried garlic, and the flavor was out of this world. My Pad Kee Mao was also cooked perfectly. I ordered the dish at a spice level 4, and it wasn't overly spicy at all. It was a real treat! The vegetable rolls were my favorite by a hair. They were fresh made and the veggies inside were abundant. The taste and texture of the cabbage inside was perfect. The second time I came I did a repeat with the wings and the rolls. I have rarely ever had "fast Asian" this fresh and made to order. It goes to show that fast food needn't be bad, but still, certain needs in this country need to be met.
