Overall: 2.6/5 [delivery] We ordered on UberEats, and the food arrived fairly quickly. Crab Fried Rice ($21.45): We chose jasmine rice which. Right off the bat I was not a fan of the texture and the crab tasted like it came from a can. The flavors were not great either so we ended up adding our own sauce. It also did not taste spicy at all despite ordering level 4. Pad Thai Pork ($17.45): Got this with spice level 3 and vegan sauce. The pork was overcooked and tasted almost like chicken. The spice level came through on this one but the sauce leaned too sour, which I think was from too much tamarind. Mi Krop Crispy ($12.50): Crispy wontons tossed in a sweet and sour tamarind sauce with some scrambled egg and one jumbo shrimp. The wontons were not crispy at all and the flavor was only slightly better than the pad thai. Still not worth it. Dallas has so many solid Thai options that this one just did not make the cut for us. read more

I was on my way downtown and detoured through uptown to catch a taco at a place recomended by my California friend John D. After parking and walking to my destination Ka Thai caught my eye. For mains, I had the Traditional Thai Fried Rice with Chicken (spice level 3). Jasmine rice with egg, onions, tomatoes, and scallions and I must say ....the spices were spicing, the chicken was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. We started off with the steamed Thai dumplings which had a great flavor profile and were of a good size. We then got the chicken pad Thai and black pepper beef. The roti canai was SOO flavourful my only suggestion would be MORE ROTI to soak up all the delicious curry!! Great flavors and fast service! I stopped into Ka Thai and immediately ran into the best kind of problem: I couldn't decide between the pad kee mao and the crab fried rice... so, I ordered both. No regrets. Both dishes came out together. The drunken noodles were piping hot. The sauce leaned a little sweeter and saucier than I usually prefer, but the flavor was still solid. The noodles were about 2 inches wide, which was different than what I've experienced in the past. The crab fried rice ended up being my favorite of the two. Great texture, great seasoning, and overall really comforting. I just wish it had a bit more lump crab meat mixed in. Still, I liked it enough that I packed up the leftovers for later. Tried dinner during the weekend after hearing some great things about this place. They validate parking in the apartment garage in the same building. Super convenient and easy- just make sure not to park in any reserved spots. For the food, we tried to crab avocado spring rolls, which were unique and delicious! Would recommend trying them! For my entree, I got the chicken pad see ew, which was filling and had lots of chicken and vegetables. I finished about half of the dish. For dessert, I split the sweet mango sticky rice, which was really good! They cut up the mango into small pieces, which makes it easy to share and eat. Had a taste for Thai last night and Ka Thai came through! I've been doing takeout and delivery from here, and this time ordered through Instacart (which uses Uber Eats). The delivery was estimated at 30 minutes, but took over an hour (for a place less than 10 minutes away), but that's on the service...not the restaurant. Thankfully, the food was wrapped up perfectly and still very warm when it arrived. So, I was pleasantly surprised and grateful for that "win"! We had the green curry, black pepper beef, and traditional Thai fried rice...all super tasty and super flavorful. I was especially impressed by how fresh everything still tasted. I ordered a Pad Kee Maw (wide rice noodles stir fried with chicken, egg, basil, onion, bell pepper, and jalapeños) with a spice level of 4 over the phone. This dish is what I usually get at Thai restaurants, and it was as good as I was expecting. It wasn't very spicy so I would get a spice level of 5 or ask for a side of peppers next time, but it did build a bit with each bite. There is validated parking in the Cortland M-line Apartment Garage at Bowen St & McKinney Ave, although they said not to worry about it since I was there for under 10 minutes. I appreciate how there's a window next to the entrance from the garage specifically designated for to-go orders. My food was ready upon my arrival packed in a paper bag with napkins and utensils, so the entire process was very smooth.
