I was a bit skeptical about Ka Thai but the food went over my expectations. I worked at a Thai restaurant for 2+ years so I expected a lot from every new Thai restaurants I tried. The inside is beautiful and it is very modern, they also have a bar too. I got their Pad Thai (level 5 spicy) and Pineapple Fried Rice (level 4 spicy). The pad thai was REALLY spicy, while the fried rice didn't have much spice. They both were really delicious and the portions were pretty big, enough to share between 2 people. My friends got their Pad See Ew and Green Curry. While some enjoyed the pad see ew, the others didn't enjoy their curry as much. The Thai Tea was ok, nothing surprising. Service was really great though they were nice and attentive. The prices were pretty expensive but given the aesthetics and portion sizes, I think it's understandable. This place is comparable to Too Thai Street Eats, while Too Thai might be slightly better (cheaper)! read more

We've lived around the area for about a year and always drove past this restaurant. We ordered one of their pork based soups, ka kai style pad thai, and their ka thai curry. Pad thai was alright. Curry was delicious. However, when they brought out the soup, I had one sip and immediately felt like the pork was spoiled. My boyfriend tried it as well, we're both asian so both of cultures have pork-based broth but we were 100% certain it was spoiled. We notified the server and they took back the soup. We were still charged for the soup because we took a sip out of it. The experience was decent, but it could have been better. This is my cousin and my favorite Thai food place. Went today and Tuesdays are half price bottles of wine! Big plus. We shared a bottle of wine and two appetizers which is what we usually do. We had the Heaven Beef which is a crispy beef jerky with an awesome sauce and sticky rice on the side. Super good! But let me tell you about the Thai Dumplings which were so good we ordered another order after finishing the first order. Excellent little Thai place in the strip mall at Wallnut Hill, tucked in the East corner of the development. The staff is very friendly and makes sure you're taken care of. They gave us some good advice about spice levels as well. They haven't a Thai tapas menu that's usually only available at dinner time, but they let us order from at lunch anyway. It has some Thai street food dishes with authentic flavors (they even warn that it could be too much for some people), but the Thai BBQ pork and Crispy Rice salad were fantastic. The pork came with a sweet and spicy sauce and a sour and spicy sauce, which was very refreshing, but I can see how it may be unusual for some. The crispy rice also had a slightly sour sauce, which worked very well with the richness of the rice and saltiness of the peanuts. We also had a Ka Thai curry and Shrimp Pad see ew. The curry was kind of like a mix of red and yellow curry. It was creamy but not to rich and came with brisket-like beef that was fork tender. The pad see ew was sweet, rich and, at a nr 3 spice level, just spicy enough without burning my mouth. All of it was delicious. Finally, my son had a hand-crafted cream soda, which does not come from a soda fountain, but was actually prepared at the bar with cream froth on top. Always our favorite Thai spot in Dallas. The happy hour is my newest favorite - our go to order is the heaven beef (so unbelievably delectable with its peppery fried exterior and tasty dipping sauce), the steamed dumplings - perfectly seasoned, the glass noodles at level 4 spicy is a real bright punch in the mouth that you will welcome over and over again, and a plate of chicken pad see ew to share. When the noodles are perfectly al dente, the plate is so good, but other times, the noodles always hit the spot even when slightly overcooked. Service is quick and friendly. Wow! I am blown away by the quality and quantity of the food here. The serving staff are cordial and friendly. The place is trendy and beautiful aesthetics. Lots of options on the menu, they even have handcrafted sodas. I really liked the coconut flavored one. The basil fried rice with tofu was soooo flavorful, perfectly sticky and chewy. What a find! We were in the area and wanted Thai so we stopped here based on the great reviews and had a great dinner! We stayed with the Spring Rolls, Crab and Avocado Rolls, and Edamame. The rolls were awesome, perfectly crisp with great flavor. We also tried the Lao Papaya Salad and the Crisp Rice Salad from the Tapas section. The fact that this section had a warning for strong flavors had me curious right away. I asked our server and she said that these items had some more authentic flavors that some guests are not as fond of. I thought they were great! This the the section you should try. Both dishes had a perfect balance of flavors and I would come back for just these dishes. We also did have the Pad Se Ew since it is a longtime favorite and the preparation in this was also elevated. There was a smoky flavor along with the other flavors in the dish that really added to the enjoyment. The staff here was super friendly and the restaurant itself was super cute and very clean. I absolutely LOVE this Thai restaurant! The two locations I have been to are Midtown and Uptown. Both are adorable for the decor and both have great service! I'd say the Midtown location is maybe a tiny bit better in service. Both locations have amazing food!! It's best to come here with at least 4 people so you can order a bunch of different items to share... what we had tonite was the Ka Thai Pad Thai Noodles, Thai Basil Fried Rice and Tom Kha Udon. It was all so delicious I can't wait to go back to try more stuff!! Our waitress could not have been cuter and more attentive even though she was clearly busy! We got a spice level of 2 which was fine, just enough heat. Decided to try something different and glad we did, Roti Canai, an Indian pancake served with yellow curry. So Good! Simply put....Best Thai Food I've had in DFW. We ordered the Yum Moo Yor and Esan Pork Rib Soup to start. Moo Yor's sausage was good but the sauce was incredible. Esan Pork Soup was sweet / salty broth and the pork melted off the bones. Main courses we split Pad Kee Maw (because this is the great equalizer for all Thai restaurants) and it was incredible....sweet noodles, rich sauce, and tender chicken with fresh bell peppers and tomatoes. But the best dish was the Ka Thai Curry (named after the restaurant). We had it with braised beef and it was legitimately one of the best red curries we've ever had. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. Service note: the busboys were incredibly attentive and refilled our waters after every one or two sips. Ambiance note: casual to upscale casual. The veggies were cut an appropriate thickness as I tend to have issues with how thick the bell peppers are cut. The ones here are a good width and carrots were not overpowering the dish at all.
