LOVED THIS PLACE! I was in the mood for some pad Thai since I hadn't had it in years. My husband chose this place, and I immediately fell in love! The interior was gorgeous, clean and lively. This would be a perfect place to have a date or to enjoy happy hour with friends. The service was also outstanding . Our cups were constantly being refilled and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us and our children which we really appreciated. They also packed up our leftover for us! For starters, We had the edamame and the ceviche and the ceviche was incredible. All the flavors and textures worked together so wonderfully! My husband got the pad Thai and I got the yellow curry with chicken. We both got the level 5 spice, and the curry was delicious...the pad Thai was very spicy, even the smell had heat, but we loved it so much. Definitely recommend!!
I was a bit skeptical about Ka Thai but the food went over my expectations. I worked at a Thai restaurant for 2+ years so I expected a lot from every new Thai restaurants I tried. The inside is beautiful and it is very modern, they also have a bar too. I got their Pad Thai (level 5 spicy) and Pineapple Fried Rice (level 4 spicy). The pad thai was REALLY spicy, while the fried rice didn't have much spice. They both were really delicious and the portions were pretty big, enough to share between 2 people. My friends got their Pad See Ew and Green Curry. While some enjoyed the pad see ew, the others didn't enjoy their curry as much. The Thai Tea was ok, nothing surprising. Service was really great though they were nice and attentive. The prices were pretty expensive but given the aesthetics and portion sizes, I think it's understandable. This place is comparable to Too Thai Street Eats, while Too Thai might be slightly better (cheaper)!

Pad kee mao has so much chicken and vegetables which balance the noodles perfectly. 4/5 is perfect level of spice. Adds a lot of flavor but not too much heat.
We've lived around the area for about a year and always drove past this restaurant. We ordered one of their pork based soups, ka kai style pad thai, and their ka thai curry. Pad thai was alright. Curry was delicious. However, when they brought out the soup, I had one sip and immediately felt like the pork was spoiled. My boyfriend tried it as well, we're both asian so both of cultures have pork-based broth but we were 100% certain it was spoiled. We notified the server and they took back the soup. We were still charged for the soup because we took a sip out of it. The experience was decent, but it could have been better. We also went during a busy time, so maybe their service was lackluster due to dinner service.
Location Ka Thai is a chain but we went to the one north of Dallas-University Park area-off the 75 and Walnut Hill (There are a few restaurants located there-Ka Thai is on the end) Parking Lot Atmosphere Upscale asian restaurant Seating Bar, booths, low tables-good for groups. Service Friendly, attentive, immediate Menu So many choices! We sampled the appetizers- dumplings, chicken wings, and grilled pork. The servings were generous-about 10 small wings, 6 dumplings, and a huge serving of pork with multiple sauces. The fried wings were yummy. The dumplings stuffed full and delish with tasty sauce. The grilled pork was the best! I had the thai basil chicken- not stir fry, which was a huge portion of ground chicken with green beans, peppers, and kale with a scoop of white rice. My friend has the green curry that was chock full of veggies and chicken-really delish!! So happy to sample it!! They have a full bar and selection of teas and beverages. Summary Outstanding restaurant with something for everyone on the expansive menu! Great food, outstanding service. Wonderful experience!
This is my cousin and my favorite Thai food place. Went today and Tuesdays are half price bottles of wine! Big plus. We shared a bottle of wine and two appetizers which is what we usually do. We had the Heaven Beef which is a crispy beef jerky with an awesome sauce and sticky rice on the side. Super good! But let me tell you about the Thai Dumplings which were so good we ordered another order after finishing the first order. Steamed dumplings with pork, shrimp, shiitake mushrooms, water chestnuts with a wonderful chili vinegar soy sauce. The service is wonderful! Sweet, sweet servers that are so attentive! You should really give this place a try!
Excellent little Thai place in the strip mall at Wallnut Hill, tucked in the East corner of the development. The staff is very friendly and makes sure you're taken care of. They gave us some good advice about spice levels as well. They haven't a Thai tapas menu that's usually only available at dinner time, but they let us order from at lunch anyway. It has some Thai street food dishes with authentic flavors (they even warn that it could be too much for some people), but the Thai BBQ pork and Crispy Rice salad were fantastic. The pork came with a sweet and spicy sauce and a sour and spicy sauce, which was very refreshing, but I can see how it may be unusual for some. The crispy rice also had a slightly sour sauce, which worked very well with the richness of the rice and saltiness of the peanuts. We also had a Ka Thai curry and Shrimp Pad see ew. The curry was kind of like a mix of red and yellow curry. It was creamy but not to rich and came with brisket-like beef that was fork tender. The pad see ew was sweet, rich and, at a nr 3 spice level, just spicy enough without burning my mouth. All of it was delicious. Finally, my son had a hand-crafted cream soda, which does not come from a soda fountain, but was actually prepared at the bar with cream froth on top. It was a little sweet for me, but my son loved it. Overall it was a great lunch, which I will gladly repeat!
This place is amazing! My husband and I had our honeymoon in Thailand so we love when we're able to find authentic Thai food near where we live. Everything here tastes very authentic! The restaurant is a bit on the smaller side but I love the intimate feel. The service is great and everyone who came to our table was so nice. They kind of collectively take care of the tables which I think helps with making sure customers are taken care of. It is very reasonably priced, especially for the ambiance, service, and food provided. 10/10 recommended for a date night or family outing. Food we got: Crispy Spring Rolls: fried very well and the dipping sauce was amazing. Thai Basil Stir Fry: this was my favorite dish to eat in Thailand and it tasted just like I remember. Kao Soi w/ Braised Beef: my husband really enjoyed this but noted that it was a heavier soup. Matcha Ice cream: not as sweet as I was expecting which I really appreciated. Very fresh taste.
I visited this location close to closing and they were very accommodating. They give great entre sizes and the food is super fresh. This place feels elevated, but not formal. It's has dim lighting - moodier environment. The location in Uptown has a slightly different vibe - more bright light. I like both locations. read more
Wish I had gotten pictures of our food before it was inhaled. Met some girlfriends for happy hour and it did not disappoint. The service was attentive and not overbearing. Interior was lovely and quiet. Parking is currently a bit of a pain with construction but overall not an issue. Happy hour is fantastic with both food and drink specials. We tried edamame with spicy garlic sauce, thai dumping (bit like a siu mai), ka thai shrimp ceviche (everyone was very impressed with this dish), crispy vegetable spring roll. This was enough for three adults and we also ordered pad woon sen which was cooked perfectly. Will be back with the fam! read more

Such great food and service. I tried this spot out with some girlfriends and had to go back 3 days later. Food is so fresh and flavorful. Portion sizes are fulfilling. Happy Hour is EVERYDAY including weekends (ALL DAY on Sundays). This will be a regular spot I visit often! read more

I've been coming to Thai Kai for years, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious, the service is always warm and attentive, and the ambience makes it a place you genuinely enjoy spending time in. It's one of those rare spots you can always count on. read more

Finally got to check this place out after hearing great things. The service was great and the ambiance was nice. We ordered pad Thai and Thai basil fried rice, and I can honestly say that this was the best Thai food I've had so far. I see why people rave about this place! I wanted to try their mango sticky rice, but unfortunately was unable to due to the mangoes not being ready yet. I can't wait to try it the next time I visit! read more
FOOD Pad Kee Maw - tasted pretty good! The noodles had nice texture and all the vegetables were cooked well. Seasoning was on point and not too strong. We ordered medium spicy which was pretty good. Pineapple Fried Rice - We didn't like this one as much. The flavor was very strong . Typically the pineapple balances out the saltiness but in this case a bit more on the saltier side. Not too bad but just a lot stronger in flavor and overpowering. VIBES Very nice vibes. The lighting is on the dimmer side and which is perfect for dates. There is a nice wooden aesthetic around. Seating consists of booth, tables, and then also bar seating. Very spacious and pretty interior! SERVICE Service was good! They were quick to get our order in and to bring out the food. One thing I thought was nice was my friend was trying to get a picture of the bar area and the lady kindly stepped out so she could take the picture. read more

Good food - good service. Came in on a Saturday around 4pm and watched the restaurant fill up by the time we were leaving. Daily happy hour with app and drink specials! We had two drinks and left in a really good mood! lol - also order our entrees with max heat and it was great. My salmon was a little over cooked for my liking but that was the only dish I did not love. My husband's sea bass was the perfect temperature. Our apps were good - dumplings and ceviche - I never eat ceviche but theirs made me want to try to make it at home! We will be back! read more

Wow! I am blown away by the quality and quantity of the food here. The serving staff are cordial and friendly. The place is trendy and beautiful aesthetics. Lots of options on the menu, they even have handcrafted sodas. I really liked the coconut flavored one. The basil fried rice with tofu was soooo flavorful, perfectly sticky and chewy. We also got the ka thai curry, the beef brisket was exceptional with it, loved the red onion and pickled onion garnish. The chicken udon noodle soup was delicious as well. Great experience! read more

What a find! We were in the area and wanted Thai so we stopped here based on the great reviews and had a great dinner! We stayed with the Spring Rolls, Crab and Avocado Rolls, and Edamame. The rolls were awesome, perfectly crisp with great flavor. We also tried the Lao Papaya Salad and the Crisp Rice Salad from the Tapas section. The fact that this section had a warning for strong flavors had me curious right away. I asked our server and she said that these items had some more authentic flavors that some guests are not as fond of. I thought they were great! This the the section you should try. Both dishes had a perfect balance of flavors and I would come back for just these dishes. We also did have the Pad Se Ew since it is a longtime favorite and the preparation in this was also elevated. There was a smoky flavor along with the other flavors in the dish that really added to the enjoyment. The staff here was super friendly and the restaurant itself was super cute and very clean. Another hidden gem for Thai food! The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The service was outstanding--very nice, professional, and attentive. I absolutely LOVE this Thai restaurant! The two locations I have been to are Midtown and Uptown. Both are adorable for the decor and both have great service! I'd say the Midtown location is maybe a tiny bit better in service. Both locations have amazing food!! It's best to come here with at least 4 people so you can order a bunch of different items to share... what we had tonite was the Ka Thai Pad Thai Noodles, Thai Basil Fried Rice and Tom Kha Udon. It was all so delicious I can't wait to go back to try more stuff!! Our waitress could not have been cuter and more attentive even though she was clearly busy! I can't say enough good things about the restaurant.... It is my favorite Thai in Dallas! So good! read more

Went to the Ka Thai, Walnut Lane on a Saturday at lunch with a group of 8. Seated immediately. Took them a bit for them to take our orders, but once the orders went into the kitchen, food came out rapidly. Fantastic service, with no drink glasses ever empty. Fresh, delicious food. Simply put....Best Thai Food I've had in DFW. We ordered the Yum Moo Yor and Esan Pork Rib Soup to start. Moo Yor's sausage was good but the sauce was incredible. Esan Pork Soup was sweet / salty broth and the pork melted off the bones. Main courses we split Pad Kee Maw (because this is the great equalizer for all Thai restaurants) and it was incredible....sweet noodles, rich sauce, and tender chicken with fresh bell peppers and tomatoes. But the best dish was the Ka Thai Curry (named after the restaurant). We had it with braised beef and it was legitimately one of the best red curries we've ever had. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. Service note: the busboys were incredibly attentive and refilled our waters after every one or two sips. Ambiance note: casual to upscale casual. Good spot for families, friends, foodies, lunch, or casual date night. read more
I've always loved the food here at Ka Thai and have visited several times now - the service is always extremely attentive and they get constant business for a reason! You'll never see the space ever empty. Beautiful establishment and kept clean as well. Highly recommend coming here during their happy hours for discount on the food!!! Food review and the ratings: Roti Canai - AMAZING, hands down my favorite thing they have here, especially at $6 during happy hour omg you just cannot beat that anywhere! Roti is super buttery and soft, the curry was delicious with a slight sweetness to it. 10/10 Thai Dumplings - you can get this either steamed or fried, either way it's sooo yummy. I order these everytime I'm here! Extremely similar to siu mai. 8/10 Chicken Wings - They take out one of the bones so you're able to eat it like a drumstick or easily take off all the meat! Sooo efficient and the first place I've seen do this. Plus the sweet chili sauce paired perfectly with the wings as well. 9/10 Thai Basil Fried Rice - It isn't my favorite Thai basil fried rice I've had, BUT it's definitely not bad. The veggies were cut an appropriate thickness as I tend to have issues with how thick the bell peppers are cut. The ones here are a good width and carrots were not overpowering the dish at all. I would still say the crab fried rice is my favorite one from Ka Thai though, so definitely get that if you get the chance! 8/10 Fried Banana & Ice Cream - superrrr yummy dessert and really light for something that's fried! We paired this with vanilla ice cream and it was delicious for sure. 8/10 Mango Sticky Rice & Coconut Ice Cream - OMG! You need to try this!! I loooove Thai mango, it's my favorite fruit ever and the sticky rice was so sweet and soft (not too sweet either) this paired perfectly with coconut ice cream, I don't think I can eat this any other way anymore! 10/10 read more

Delicious experience at Ka Thai. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. Shout out to Jacque for amazing service. The whole team were terrific at working together. The Ka Thai bbq with pork was tender and tasty. We loved the green currie with chicken and Tom Kha Udon with shrimp. Trashy Tuesday half price bottle of wine topped off this dining experience. Look forward to coming back! read more
