Was really in the mood for Thai last night and immediately thought of Asian Mint. I entered an online Take Out order for my favorite, Shirataki Pad Thai. It's a delicious selection made with no carb Shirataki noodles, shrimp, chicken, house made tamarind sauce, egg, scallions, bean sprouts, and crushed peanuts. The waitstaff was very friendly when I got there for Pick Up. The vibe, as always, was lively and relaxed while I waited for my order. Fortunately for me, my order was ready earlier than predicted. I was hungry and really looking forward to digging in. My Shirataki Pad Thai was still warm when I got home, so I was not disappointed. I've been coming here since 2005!!! Asian Mint is an amazing staple to the 75 and Forest area. The ambiance is always amazing and their food and drink is always on point. Recently, I attended a private event in their Skye lounge. The staff welcomed us with a cocktail (lychee martini) and appetizers (calamari, sushi, and a veggie roll). The food was amazing and their staff was even better. We were blessed to get the floating noodles as well! All the entrees (we had 5 courses) were outstanding. She had the red curry and loved it, while I had the traditional pad Thai - really good, just wanted for more veggies. We each had another meal with our take out. YUM! We last visited February 18 and it was just spot on! I think we got there between five and 5:30 pm. We ordered happy hour drinks and appetizers. Specifically, the work of art of the lychee martini was very impressive and delicious. The environment was clean, modern and well designed, servers came in at just the right time. All the food was really delicious and so enjoyable. The sticky rice and green tea ice cream was the Finishing touch. Just a great visit and is on rotation for restaurants we visit! This is one of my favorite places across DFW. Haven't been for a while as I don't live close by. This is their original location in a strip mall and parking is ample. As always, the vibe is clean, bright, fresh and casual. Service is nothing short of terrific. Every single person is friendly, attentive and responsive. Now the food - love the wide range of drink and food options on the menu. You can adjust the heat level a mild, medium, hot, Thai hot etc. we started with the papaya salad which was fresh, filled with peanuts and a delightful layered set of flavors and textures. We then had the special seasonal Siam Boat noodles (savory, delicious broth, generous portions - be sure to eat it right away as the noodles absorb that broth fast! It's served with fresh basil, chili crisp, pork rinds). We also had the glass noodles pad Mee kow woo San with shrimp - perfection. For dessert we had an iced cappuccino, ginger tea, and the sticky rice with ice cream which is a coconut lovers dream. Love this place and will keep coming back to explore all the culinary delights! Very disappointed in the food! I am shock to see there is such a high rating place. In my opinion, it seems that Asian Mint caters to non Asians. The good quality is no where close to the Asian culture. We ordered the orange chicken. I was shocked at what the texture of the orange chicken looked like. It almost looks like I could have gone to Canes. I really wanted to leave and not have eaten there but I did as much as I could which was mainly the rice and broccoli. The soup was so disappointment. The broth tasted like water. It definitely lacked ingredients. The dumplings were decent. Service was attentive and ok! The server almost dropped the food in my hand when handing it over. He definitely spilled the soup on the dish as you can see in the photo. It's alright. We asked for chili oil for the dumpling and ended up with hot sauce. That's ok too. The tulip dumplings fell apart and the summer rolls had a lot of fluff to it when it could have had more shrimp than 1 full shrimp per roll. I'd order this again when I go the next time. I've had the Shrimp Rangoon at many places and this is hands down my favorite place to get them I cannot put into words just how good they are! As far as appetizers go, I'd highly recommend getting this at least once even if you don't want to try any of the others. The House Fried Rice was good, but nothing I'd rave about. Prices have gone up and food quality has decreased tremendously! Several staff members barely speak English and cannot follow simple requests for meals. Asian noodle salad soggy and a total waste of money.. Sushi was mediocre at best. Asked for soy sauce and it never came until I went and asked another staff member. I ordered the Asian Noodle Salad and it was everything I wanted and more. The ingredients were fresh and crisp. The ratio of veggies to noodles was perfect. The dressing was sweet and tangy, and I'm actually already craving it again. I'd recommend it if you're in the mood for a salad. Also, it was a huge portion, so I wasn't able to finish it all. You've been warned! The Red Curry was the star for me. It was easily one of the best versions I've ever tried. My husband loved it, but complained that he wished they served it with more white rice.
