Kid's noodle bowl with shrimp
Jimmy K.

We tried this place recently for dinner and had a good experience. We started with the gyoza appetizer. It came with 6 pieces and a dipping sauce. The gyoza had good flavor. My wife tried the General Tsao's chicken, I tried the bulgogi and our daughter tried the kid's noodle bowl with shrimp. The portion sizes matched the price. My daughter had enough for 2 meals. The flavors of our meals were great. The staff was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back to try more.

I was in the mood for Asian and it seemed to be a nice option to Taco Joint (same shopping center) which was our original intent. The family and I went for lunch on a Friday. The place was not busy. Only one other table besides ours was occupied. The interior is modern with clean lines. The atmosphere was rather sterile, more like a fast food chain. They have a lunch menu so we ordered from that. The kid had noodles with chicken and tofu. She did not like the chicken, although I tried it and it was tender so there was nothing wrong with it. She did eat the sesame noodles. The wife had a pork dish that we cannot spell or pronounce. It starts with a T. The dish is fried pork with veggies. She did not like it very much. I ordered bulgogi and although the meat had good flavor, the meat was tough and chewy. The rice was cooked perfectly. The lunch menu comes with a soup or salad and an egg or spring roll. We both had hot and sour and thought that there was too much vinegar. I had the egg roll and it was good, perfectly fried. The wife had the spring roll, which was fried, and said it was mushy. For starters I ordered steamed gyoza and they were pretty good. No complaints. Our server was gracious and polite. No complaints. If this place is going to make it, they food is going to have to improve.

Hot and sour soup, Mongolian, beef, and egg roll They were all delightful,

Service was quick and efficient, horseradish was spicier than I expected, but I did enjoy it

Meh. Food is bland for Asian. They had good selection but nothing was particularly spicy or flavorful. Service was good, atmosphere was nice.

Egg rolls- very tasty. Crab Rangoon-ok.

This place is new to the neighborhood and I was excited to see it. Apparently this is another concept from the people that own Howard Wang. It took over the same spot where another Asian restaurant was that didn't last long at all. I don't want to see this happen to this business, but... I liked that the space is open and bright. There is a separate area that looks like it may be good for groups. They serve Korean, Japanese, and Chinese food. My daughter and I ordered strictly from the Korean area of the menu. We got japchae, beef bulgogi, tangsuyuk. Sadly all the food was bland and tasted nothing like Korean food I have had in South Korea and Koreatown in Carrollton. I was very disappointed. We spent $73 on 3 mains and 2 appetizers no drinks. They don't offer any lunch specials. It doesn't matter because all the mains were bland. I gave 2 stars because the food came out fast and it was very fresh with fresh ingredients. Sadly the best thing we had were the egg rolls. They were packed, but not heavy and greasy. I would only go back for the egg rolls. They don't have sweet and sour sauce. She left a sauce on the table and said it was duck sauce. I asked for some sweet and sour and she pointed at the sauce she just said was duck. Duck sauce and sweet and sour sauce are not the same thing. The sauce she left wasn't even duck sauce. The mystery sauce was good, just not what I wanted.

We went on Thursday which was $1-$2 nigiri night! Good quality for the price. The curry was good but the pork belly was awesome!! Service was incredibly friendly. Much more so then the other yama! Cool young sushi chef behind the counter. The ambiance was super cool. Felt like I was back in Tokyo. That's the main reason I like it more than other yama! The one in Carrolton is kinda a more sad vibe. Darker. Can smell like beer. Waitress can tend to look upset or depressed. Just not fun. This place was intimate and well lit with fun music playing and cool little menus up everywhere. The staff smiled and kept asking if we were enjoying! Only note is to the management. Your bathroom is leaking water pretty bad lol I would look into that. Cheers!

The interior was understated, clean and intimate; perfect for date night. Sashimi starts at $1.50 a piece but was $1.95 for salmon, and the pieces were thick and fatty! The pork belly skewers were also so tender, and if we weren't already so stuffed, we would have definitely gotten more. I'd order everything again except for the dynamite roll, which we struggled to finish because of how saucy and heavy it was. Overall a great and satisfying meal open late and not too far from Dallas proper. Will be back!

The food here was INCREDIBLE and well worth the wait. To be transparent, I did wait almost an hour…read morearound dinner time (7pm). The inside is tiny and there isn't even a proper "waiting" area. I've also tried coming here before, and there was also a long wait. I'm glad I decided to stick it out this time. We ordered the Wagyu sushi, Yakitori, Tonkotsu Miso Ramen, and the Tomato Ramen. The Wagyu sushi is torched right in front of you! The Wagyu was incredibly tender and the sauce was delicious. My only *nitpicky* critique is the rice was ever so slightly too moist, but that didn't stop me from inhaling the sushi. Next, the Yakitori was phenomenal. I've never had such tender chicken in my life. There was a nice layer of delicious sauce coating the skewer. Again, just a really nitpicky feedback I have was that I wish the Yakitori had the tiniest bit more char to it, but nevertheless was an incredible bite, and I'd 100% order again in a heartbeat. Onto the ramen - easily hands down one of the best ramen I've had in DFW. The broth is flavorful, and I love the noodles. I'm not sure if they're handmade from scratch, but they had the perfect thickness and chewiness. I also loved generous the portion of cha shu slices. Most other places only give you 1-2 thin slices, but that was not the case here. The pork was tender. The ajitama was solid too, although I prefer more of a soft-boiled egg. While the meat portion is more generous here, the tonkotsu didn't come with many vegetables. A lot of other ramen places I've been to will have corn, fried garlic, etc as default, but those are all additional cost add-ons here. The ramen was delicious without them though but just something to note. We also got the tomato ramen as it's the chef recommendation. The dish is very creative and the execution was great. Personally, I still prefer traditional ramens but it was certainly a nice culinary creation to try. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and would come here again. Just be aware there may be a wait, and because they're so busy, you do have to proactively flag down staff. However, the staff are still really nice despite all the tasks they're juggling at once.

We got spicy gyoza to start, black pork tonkatsu w/ small curry rice bowl and a spicy dan dan. Gyoza came smothered in their sweet garlic chilli which defeats the purpose of a crispy gyoza skirt. It might be better to retain the crisp and crunch of the gyoza skin with the chilli sauce on the side? On to the ramen -- if you want to know if you're getting a quality bowl, look no further than the preparation of the egg. No respectable ramen shop would serve you well done boiled eggs which was the case here. The tonkatsu had heavy garlic flavor which is good but was unfortunately overshadowed by the abundance of burnt garlic bits. Not much to say about the Dan Dan. Bathroom clean but had a strong smelled. Would not go out of my way nor return with the amount of noodle options in dfw.

I had read the Yelp reviews and had pretty low expectations going in, but was in a pinch and wanted a bowl of udon on my way home which was nearby. I ate on a Wednesday night and sat at the bar. I was welcomed to a very smoky environment (hibachi grill smoke). The dishwasher machine is visible when sitting at the bar and they had loose dishwashing trays and a bag of baking soda out underneath the glasses also visible. What!? I've never seen that at a restaurant. Many of the hibachi tables were full and there were maybe three non-hibachi tables seated. There was one other solo diner at the bar and was no one at the sushi bar. I ordered a bowl of shrimp udon and some edamame. The edamame came out within a few minutes, and the udon came out not long after the bar waitress was friendly. That was a plus. The udon was pretty bland and the edamame were quite salty (saltiest I've ever had). My bill was $24 ($15 for udon; $5 for edamame), pretty pricy given the quality of food and experience. I also had an automatic 15% gratuity added (1-2 people; 18% for 3+ people) for my sitting at the bar. What on earth. I would've probably tipped that or more but I'm not sure what kind of place it is that charges an automatic gratuity for non-hibachi customers. Overall, I have no plans to return. This was a completely underwhelming experience. The whole place felt very rundown.

Good…read morething we did because about 30 minutes into our dinner, the restaurant filled up really quickly and there was a crowd waiting outside. The ordering system was simple since everything was done with a pen and paper, which made it easy to keep track of what we wanted to try. One thing I would recommend though is asking for a new order sheet immediately after turning one in because the wait time between rounds could get pretty long. We learned that the hard way after sitting around waiting for the next paper to arrive. The ambiance was really nice with a modern Japanese restaurant vibe mixed with EDM music playing in the background. It felt lively without being too overwhelming. Our server was also very attentive and friendly throughout the meal, checking in often and making sure we had everything we needed. My favorite item of the night was definitely the chutoro. It was rich, buttery, and melted in your mouth. I was sad that it was limited to only 4 pieces per person because it easily became the standout dish for me. I was also surprised that each sushi order only came with one piece instead of the usual two pieces I'm used to at most sushi places. At first it caught me off guard, but honestly it worked out nicely because it let us try a much larger variety of items without getting too full too quickly. Out of the appetizers, the squid legs were incredibly flavorful and had a great texture. I also really enjoyed the steak ribeye which was tender and satisfying. One unexpected thing was the edamame. It was cooked so soft that we could basically eat the whole pod, which I've never experienced before. Overall, the experience was really enjoyable and reasonably priced for the quality and variety. The atmosphere, service, and food all made for a great dinner spot. My only wish is that they would allow unlimited toro because I could honestly keep ordering that all night.

The sushi was good for the most part. A bit lukewarm. Some tasted... a bit fishy and off, particularly the salmon carpaccio and salmon truffle and Caribbean roll. The seared salmon and Chu toro and yuzu salmon and yellowtail jalapeño were my favs. Apps: okay. The cucumber salad was surprising but not bad. Lots of chili oil but not spicy. I think I was expecting a vinaigrette but it wasn't. The crab Rangoon was extremely stale. I could not eat it. The seaweed salad still had frozen ice in the middle. Cheese corn was cold and congealed. Not warm at all. Like it's been sitting there on the counter. Squid legs nicely fried and crunchy. The steak pieces had good flavor and sear but a lot of pieces were pure fat. I think I would come back only for the salmon and chu toro. But the price point is a bit more than other AYCE and no dessert included. I wish even a scoop of ice cream or one mochi ice cream to finish our meal. small restaurant. So for a large table I would not recommend more than 6. Also with time limit and limit on how many sushi you can order in one go will be hard press with a larger group.
