Fantastic food, ambiance, and service! 10/10 experience at Mot Hai Ba! My friend and I had a reservation for dinner at the bar. Gabe took the best care of us! He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and gave us fantastic recommendations. To drink I got the Lychee Lemongrass Martini, which was perfectly sweet! Gabe started us off with the Gruyère Kimchi fritters on the house, which were so crunchy and savory! Our other apps were the beet salad and Crispy Vietnamese Rice Cake. The beet salad was refreshing, but the rice cake stole the show. Warning -- the portion was massive, but the mushroom filling was beyond flavorful! For our mains we got the Eggplant Curry and Garlic Noodles. I've heard a lot about their garlic noodles, and enjoyed them, but wished for a bit more garlic flavor. The curry was phenomenal! Spicy with such a bright flavor. 10/10!

First time at Mot Hai Ba exceeded expectations This restaurant is truly worth all the hype people say. Service was great and for your first time they'll bring out a complimentary appetizer to try! Highly recommend the stuffed leeks, absolutely have to get them, they were mind blowing. One of the best bites I've had in Dallas Garlic noodles and shaking beef were good, but not the best I've had. Definitely worth trying. Everything we got was tasty. No complaints and flavors were all very well balanced Recommend the chocolate cake as well, very decadent but not too sweet

LOVE Mot Hai Ba! Blink and you'll miss it. I'm not sure where the parking is actually supposed to be but we managed to find street parking not too far away. Book well in advance unless you want an early and less ideal reservation time. The service was incredibly helpful and made some wonderful suggestions. They have a version of the menu which is marked up for dairy free and modifiable options for those who need it (like my friend). We started with the Swiss Chard Tempura and it the highlight of the meal for me. I could not believe how crispy the tempura stayed despite sitting in the sauce. Second was the garlic noodles and then the shaking beef. I enjoyed the viet rice cakes and the branzino but I honestly think we just ordered way too much food for two people. The Vietnamese cakes were an interesting twist and a bit messier to eat since it's basically a giant lettuce wrap. Definitely a fusion restaurant with wonderful flavors. The service was great, the lychee martini delicious, and it was definitely a cute little restaurant. I definitely need to come back and try more dishes!

I think my favorite restaurant I've been to in Dallas! So amazing. The service is super friendly, and we were given a complimentary appetizer for it being our first time there. It's a very cozy and small space which adds to the ambiance. Everything was incredible, but the ravioli and chocolate cake were my favorites. The chocolate cake might be one of my favorite chocolate cakes ever. I had enough for leftovers the next day - it's a very large slice. Our reservation was at 8:30pm, and we got their last slice so I think they might sell out towards the end of the night. Parking was pretty easy on a nearby side street. Make reservations well in advance. Would love to go back again!

This is the closest thing Dallas has to a Michelin star. Truly a dining experience. The place is small and intimate. Great lighting. Great bartenders and servers. The food is amazing. Some of the best oysters I've ever had in my life. The shaking beef, short rib, and coppa are my go to's with the garlic noodles of course. Great drinks. You'll need to come here at least 3 times to experience all the different wonderful flavors. Def one of the best spots in Dallas.

My son and I enjoyed the most fabulous last dinner out of 2025, at Mot Hai Ba. Service was exceptional from start to finish. We were sandwiched between two young dates which can probably make your young adult son feel a little uncomfy, like I'm here with my Mom and these dudes are on dates but I didn't know it would be a datey crowd on a Sunday evening. Nonetheless, we had a really lovely experience. I had their 5 spice old fashioned and my son had a beer. We ordered a bit of everything starting with one banh bao, the grilled octopus, stuffed leaks, shaking beef, branzino, bok choy, and garlic noodles. The flavors were out of this world. We both agreed the food was rich and not the type of thing you need on a heavy rotation but so scrumptious! Loved the ambiance here, perfect spot for a date or fam bam dinner. I love recommending solo dining spots since most of my time here is spent solo dining, what I will say about Mot Hai Ba is the food is all so delish and family style is really the way to go. Bring a friend! If I were to have gone solo, I wouldn't be able to try so many items and this meal is probably most enjoyable as a shared experience so your taste buds can fully explore their incredible offerings. You'd be doing yourself an injustice to have to skip anything, but you could prob scale way back and have leftovers for the next day. We snagged parking in the neighborhood, not sure what the parking situation is as I don't recall seeing valet.

When we first entered the restaurant, I was a little skeptical. First impressions were small, loud, cramped. But things changed quickly. As soon as we were welcomed we got seated and welcomed by a top notch waiter. It felt like he genuinely loved what he was doing. He gave insightful recommendations on what to order and what items were better than the others. We got the bao buns as an appetizer. Pretty good. With flavorful beef filling. 8/10 After some discussion we decided on the branzino which had a sweet, tasty sauce--among the best we've had. We also ordered the shaving beef as our 2nd entree and it was incredible tender. 10/10. For sides we got the garlic noodles and the rice. Both were pretty good. 8/10. Flavorful but at the end of the day rice and noodles. We finished the night off with chocolate cake--so rich but so good. It's also beautiful. 10/10

Stopped by a few weeks ago with a friend and we had a decent time. Some dishes (garlic noodles) were extremely salty while others (bok choy) were bland; this may be because my friend has a dairy allergy and dishes had to be modified, so I definitely want to return in the future and try certain things again without substitutions and see if they're more balanced. My favorites of the night were the stuffed leeks and the kimchi foie gras dumpings, though I didn't think the latter really needed the beef tallow or wagyu; it made everything super oily. Also didn't love paying $40+ for 7 small pieces of shaking beef, but it is what it is. I do want to give the restaurant another chance since several of the dishes look excellent but my friend couldn't eat them (she also has a soy and shellfish allergy, sadly) - it's a bit far for us but I'm sure my husband and I will be back at some point.

This was an expensive meal and I regret not a single penny spent here. Parking was available across the street along the opposite, though it was a weekday evening, so not sure about weekends. The restaurant was packed at 8.30pm on the week night when we had our reservation. It's small but they have a good amount of seats including enclosed outdoor seating as well. It exudes, eclectic eatery vibes. Service was fantastic. From our server Mia to the many staff members assisting, there were no complaints. My wife dropped her napkin and in under a minute had a fresh one without us even having time to call for help. The food is absolutely amazing. The plates looked gorgeous and it's as good to eat as it looked. From the simple grilled mushrooms dish to stuffed leeks or the branzino, it was great! Definitely save room for dessert. This is a high, high quality restaurant well worth the $$$ you will spend here.

Easily one of, if not my new favorite restaurant in Dallas. We celebrated my birthday here a few weeks ago and could not have had a better experience. We were seated at the bar, where a branded 'Happy Birthday' sign waited. From there, the bartender, Gabe, gave us a full rundown of the menu and offered suggestions for us. He could not have been more helpful or knowledgeable about each dish. He truly made the night feel special and even sent out two appetizers so that we got to try the dishes that he liked. Also, when we got were finishing up our meal and ordered the chocolate cake, there was a candle in it and he took our picture with a Polaroid camera to help commemorate the occasion. A small gesture that went a long way. The first dish that we got was the Kimchi and Gruyère rice fritters, which were one of the dishes that Gabe sent out and a great start to the night. From there, we ordered the stuffed leeks and the dauphine ravioli, both of which were fantastic and the highlights of the meal. Both must-order dishes. We opted for the branzino as our entree, and Gabe sent out a side of rice which paired with the fish perfectly. The only surprising miss for our meal was the garlic noodles, just felt a bit one dimensional. The chocolate cake was fantastic and a great way to end the meal. Overall will absolutely be back; we have talked a few times about what we will order the next time we visit.

The restaurant is very hidden and looks like a hole in the wall. It is very small so we highly recommend a reservation. Parking was frustrating but the food is totally worth the visit. The servers are very knowledgeable when it comes to the menu and have wonderful recommendations for first timers. Apps. Swiss Chard Tempura has to be my absolute favorite. Very savory and perfectly crisp! The vinaigrette gives it a perfect balance. Double orders would be totally worth it! The ravioli was so beautiful and tasty! There's a nice citrus finish. Entree- Shaking beef - very good! If you like meat this is the perfect dish. Duck Breast - I'm not the biggest duck fan but I will order this again! Very good and overall a beautiful dish. Garlic noodles - say less. Just order it. Zero regret and can eat it as a meal alone. Dessert!! The cake was decadent and amazing. The hazelnut gives it the perfect saltiness.

Crispy Vietnamese Rice Cake Delicate crispy rice cake with bean sprout, scallion, lettuce & herbs choice of either shrimp or tofu

Y'all. Một Hai Ba is GOOD. I had a late dinner here with my mom, brother, and a family friend last Saturday when I was visiting home. I had had it on my to try list for a while, and I was thrilled it worked out on this particular visit. So we made a reservation for 9:45 pm (after a movie) and arrived just a couple of minutes late. Looking back, I really wish I hadn't had that afternoon snack. I had panicked that I'd be starving by 10 pm and had a snack around 6. Mistake. Because every bite at Một Hai Ba was delicious and I really wish we could have ordered more. So what did we order? Their crispy Vietnamese rice cake (with bean sprouts, scallions, herbs, and shrimp) were great - a classic version of Bánh Xèo (crispy pancake, great sauce, tons of herbs...). It was messy and delicious. Next - the Swiss chard tempura (tempura-fried Swiss chard filled with pork and shrimp served over a Nước chấm vinaigrette and dill) was AMAZING. I would go back and order this dish again right now. After that - their Hokkaido scallops (grilled and then sliced scallops served over champagne grapes, diced sour apple, crumbled hazelnuts, resting in a coconut milk and Hungarian wax pepper sauce, and finished with pickled peppers and mint oil) - was another great dish. It was incredibly sour and those scallops were cooked to perfection. Next, we ordered their kimchi and foie gras dumplings (house-made kimchi and foie gras dumplings served with a warm compote of Anjou pears cooked in pear vinaigrette until caramelized and topped with thinly sliced Texas wagyu ribeye; the dish is finished tableside when they pour a sizzling hot beef tallow flavored with pho spices over the dish). I don't even know where to start with this dish. WILD. Why aren't we pouring melted pho-flavored beef tallow on everything? Why are dumplings served with pears? Because no one else could think of this dish. I bit mine in half and ended up covered in dumpling filling over a favorite top. I didn't even care. It was so good I couldn't even be mad at myself. Taking it to the dry cleaner was worth it. We also had a few sides - their garlic noodles, the vegan version of their garlic noodles, and the vegan version of their grilled mixed mushrooms. These sides were consistent with the rest of the meal - delicious. I love restaurants. I love menus. I love ordering. At Một Hai Ba, I deferred to my brother and family friend, because - after great descriptions of highlights from the menu by our waitress - I wanted every single thing on the menu and was getting too stressed out. So I let my brother hand it and he was a champ. Their staff are incredibly knowledgeable about the restaurant's menu and very helpful in assisting you with ordering and coursing out your dishes. They also had a special menu which noted which dishes could be veganized (my mom is vegan, so this was very helpful). The service overall was just great. Two of us had drinks. They have a - you guessed - great menu of drinks as well. We stuck to wine. A Montepulciano for my friend, a Grüner Veltliner for me. Great wines. (The Grüner Veltliner I ordered surprised me - I actually just visited the winery in Austria's Wachau Valley last summer and geeked out a bit after finding it on the menu!) The restaurant is cool but understated - not as trendy as so many places are now. But comfortable and cool with a great playlist on the night we ate our dinner (although - a very small complaint - the music was a little too loud when we were ordering). They have some outside seating as well (covered with clear vinyl tarps for comfort and warmth in winter). Street parking wasn't too bad either (but we were there super late). The bathrooms were tiny and could maybe use a little upgrade, but when a restaurant is this good, I really can't be bothered about something as minor as that. Overall, just a great meal. One I'd be happy to repeat. In fact, one I need to repeat since I was stupid enough to eat that snack. Rookie mistake. I'll be back for more.

One of the most amazing meals in Dallas. You can tell that everything is made with love and precision with a beautiful balance of flavors without anything being too overpowering. It's an intimate setting with not a lot of seats out outside and inside and their street parking only. There's about four bar seats. I love that it's smaller as it reminds me of New York City restaurants and feels more hospitable. They change the menu frequently, but if they have it on the menu when you go must order is the stuff leeks, branzino, squash blossom tempura, shaking beef, garlic noodles and the dirty rice. Almost everything on the menu is outstanding so you can't go wrong with ordering. Even our least favorite dishes would've been our absolute favorite if we're eating anywhere else. Can't wait to come back again soon - this is a must go.

I ordered the Pork Ba, Pickled Smashed Cucumbers, Pan-Fried Chicken & Mushroom Dumplings, Pork Bao Zi, and Peach Dessert Dumplings. The Pickled Smashed Cucumbers with the sweet and spicy chili dressing were a nice start, but the Pan-Fried Chicken & Mushroom Dumplings were fairly unremarkable. They weren't bad, but they reminded me of gyoza I've had at many other restaurants and didn't particularly stand out. The Pork Bao Zi had one of the better fillings of the meal. The pork itself was flavorful and delicious, but the bao bun was very plain and lacked enough flavor to complement the filling. I was especially interested in trying the Peach Dessert Dumplings because they sounded so unique. They were definitely an interesting treat, but ultimately fell a little short for me. The peach filling tasted more like preserves or jam than a fresh fruit-based filling, which made them sweeter and less balanced than I expected. The restaurant itself has a modern, clean, open interior and a casual atmosphere. One thing worth mentioning is that it was fairly warm inside, probably around 78°F. It wasn't unbearable for me, but with North Texas temperatures easily reaching 100°F+, some diners may find the dining room warmer than comfortable. Parking is also somewhat limited, so keep that in mind during busier times. Overall, I'm glad I tried Hello Dumpling, especially after seeing it on *Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives*. There were some enjoyable flavors and creative ideas, but based on this visit, the food didn't quite live up to the expectations I had from the TV feature. I'd give it a solid 3 stars and will go back to try some fresh noodle entrees.

Between the four of us we ordered the roti canai -- with an extra piece of roti, since the base only comes with two, roti murtabak, two orders of the pork belly baos, chili crisp cucumbers, nasi lemak, beef haw fun, and bò tái chanh -- Vietnamese rare beef salad. Overall, the food was outstanding. I feel like the restaurant took all the greatest hits from every Asian culture and put them together on the menu. My favorite dish of the night was a toss up between the rare beef salad, the roti, and the pork belly baos. I loved how crispy and flaky the roti was and the curry dipping sauce that it was paired with was super aromatic, nutty, and rich. The pork belly in the baos was incredibly tender, well-marinated, and had a nice balance between lean and fatty parts. If you enjoy sour dishes, you will love the rare beef salad: there is enough lime in the dish to make you pucker. Every bite is a concentrated punch of flavors, and there is a nice variety of texture between the chopped peanuts, thinly sliced onions, rare beef, and crispy rice cracker. If you're in this part of town looking for a dinner spot, I would not hesitate to recommend Hawkers Asian Street Food. In addition to the solid food menu, the service and drinks were equally spectacular.

I accidentally mixed up the broth and curry so we essentially ended up with curry ramen, but honestly it was delicious so it worked out. I did not realize the ramen broth is a dashi broth, which is clear instead of cloudy, so I mistook the curry for the ramen broth. Clearly my brain was not working that night but it ended up being a happy accident. One thing to note is that they charge extra for spice levels above level 2 and the price increases with each level. We got level 3 for both items and it was genuinely spicy. You will feel it while eating and definitely after as well. Hinodeya Special ($20.70) + Oni-kara Level 3 ($1) + Naruto ($1.50) + Inari Fried Sweet Tofu ($3) = $26.20: We swapped to spinach noodles which worked really well. The naruto came in 4 big thick slices but did not have much flavor to me. The tofu came in 3 small thin strips that were sweet but I did not think they were worth the add on price. Sukiyaki Curry ($22.42) + Oni-kara Level 3 ($1) + Spicy Pork ($4.50) = $27.92: You can tell this is homemade curry because the color and taste were completely different from the store bought curry roux you typically find elsewhere. It was creamy and made from a pork stock soup which is apparently also used in their ramen. The beef was a bit too fatty for me but I absolutely loved the spicy pork. I loved both items and will 100% be reordering from here. Can not wait to try their other items too.

Our server was attentive, provided us menus and the restaurant's decor created a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that transported me back to Okinawa Japan. After traveling abroad, it is especially refreshing to find authentic Japanese cuisine in the United States, and Hinodeya Ramen truly stands out in that regard. We ordered several katsu curry plates, bento boxes for the children, and started with an order of gyoza as an appetizer. The gyoza arrived crisp on the outside with a juicy filling that we demolished within minutes of being placed on the table. The katsu curry arrived as crispy cutlets paired with a thick, curry sauce that was rich and delicious. The chicken bento boxes contained a variety of vegetables, rice and their selection of proteins. Our meal was flavorful, and absolutely delicious. This establishment also brought back memories for my sister and me of our time serving abroad in Okinawa. Finding Japanese food that encompasses those flavors is not easy to find, but this restaurant truly delivered. We arrived right as the kitchen was about to close, but they still graciously seated us and provided amazing, welcoming service. The restaurant was also incredibly clean. The ordering process was completely digital. We scanned the menu code with our phones and then selected our dishes ourselves. There was very little "human" touch. I still prefer having a server come take our order, which also makes the tipping decision easier. Anyway, we enjoyed the food and will probably come back again.
