We had dinner here tonight. Our drinks took forever. Our appetizers came out before our drinks. Not a great start. I ordered the filet that the menu said came with sauce on it, asparagus and some sort of double baked potato I think? When I ordered it I was told it came with broccoli...not asparagus, and a different kind of potatoes tonight instead. I asked to get it without the sauce, and with no potatoes and extra broccoli. Not unreasonable. I was told "the chef is really strict about substitutions." I said "he substituted what is listed in the menu, but I can't? We should have been informed of this change before we decided on our entree. Not when ordering it." A few minutes later a manager came over. I explained my frustration. He said he couldn't make it the way I wanted, but could comp my whole meal instead. WHAT??? You'd rather lose money and diminish a customer's experience over the chef's ego? Make that make sense! Had the most beautiful time and our server was attentive and great. Staff was professional and kind and allowed me and friend to take photos after dinner. However, though consuming not fully cooked meat is everyone's own personal responsibility, I assumed they would properly cook a rare steak. Instead, it was chewy, the fat hadn't even been cooked out of the meat, still showing some of the marbling inside. I enjoyed it, and it tasted great so I didn't complain and I did ask for rare after all. However, right when I got home I didn't hold in a single thing from the meal and was sick to my stomach. We've lived in Dallas for ten years and finally made our way to The Henry. We definitely loved the aesthetic of the place and the customer service was kind and professional. They were able to seat us upstairs on Friday night without a reservation with no wait so that was nice too. The quick reason why The Henry was 4 stars and not 5 was I don't think the 5 drinks, 2 apps, and shared burger was worth a $220 experience (including tip). The drinks were pretty good but again the average price of a cocktail was $16. I have to say the grilled chilled shrimp cocktail and the short rib potstickers were absolute stunners. These were exceptional dishes. The shrimp so fresh and clean tasting which made the char on the shrimp shine. The short rib potstickers were one of a kind. They could build a whole pop-up around this dish. I secretly found myself sopping up the sauce on the plate with a spoon. The Wagyu cheese burger was good, not great, just good. We would definitely comeback and explore a little more the menu. read more

I loved the feel of this restaurant as soon as I walked in. It was spacious and airy even though the decor was dark. We came for early breakfast on a Sunday. The cinnamon French toast here is fire -- hands down the standout dish. What really makes it are the cinnamon butter and cinnamon butter syrup that come with it. I ended up putting both all over it myself and did not regret it. Unfortunately, the two-egg breakfast let the meal down. I ordered mine with cheese and they came out way too salty, to the point where it threw off the whole plate. This isn't a one-off for me -- I can't remember the last time I had eggs this salty at a restaurant. To drink, I had the pomegranate hibiscus spritz, which was excellent -- I'd come back just for that alone. Service was solid -- the staff gave good recommendations and steered us well on the menu. But the salt on the eggs is a real issue they need to address, so I'm landing on three stars for now. read more

We ordered The classic Caesar Braised Short rib Egg fried rice Everything was fine, but since I don't speak French I had no idea that the short rib came with blue cheese lol. I'm going to have to give this place another chance, been wanting to try... however it was too hot for the top patio/ bar to be open. Only Small bar sits about 6 for the whole restaurant. It was a Friday afternoon around 1:30 in almost 100° weather at the end of this summer (with one overwhelmed and uneducated bartender) for a very busy lunch. We were Carded even though no drink was asked for yet eventually ordered. Took a while to even receive a water, no greeting, or wait advised for the few table drink tickets coming in. One drink made at a time. Sticky bar top, had to all for cutlery after receiving by food runner. Took over 20 minutes to get the attention to order an appetizer really good popular pot stickers. Originally wanted to order what looked like a great waygu burger being made close by on the grille instead Beverly hills club chicken sub side salad and shrimp salad. We sat for over an hour asked to pack up to go to a waiter passing by that "forgot". Tab over $100 no apology just an offer to remove appetizer after we had waited for Light food to be boxed up and paid cash. Declined the cash back in a rush to get out. Ambiance was pretty servers hanging around chatting coming behind the bar. Maybe have a second bartender, manager, or trusted server to at least pour wine or the few drafts/ easy makes. Waited Long enough there to observe what seemed to be either late or clocking in night shift bartender with a cup of coffee walk to the back not to return. Sad since it was both our first times. Better structure, education, and knowledge could be some feedback. However willing to go during the weekday/ night at some point and give another try. At some point. I came back as my cousin was celebrating her son's graduation. I will say that I'm always glad we make reservations as it gets crowded on the weekends. When we arrived I asked about seating upstairs as downstairs was extremely LOUD. At first there was some hesitation however then we were told that we could go upstairs. The server was accommodating and gave really good recommendations. Unfortunately it felt like they had her spread a little thin as we ended up going to the bar to place drink orders. I asked for eggs to be poached and was happy they were willing to accommodate it however my eggs were over cooked. My cousin order the Benedict and wasn't amazed with her her meal, the graduate ordered the bagel and said it was awesome, the other one ordered the French toast and said it was sweet but good and I was told that the breakfast sandwich would have been better with the ham (we didn't get an option). The fries to me were good fries but I can't say they were special. The Brussels however, I'm not one who loves Brussels sprout, but these I ate and ate more of. I was told that more cheese and balsamic glaze would have taken them over the top. The dip was okay but once again, not my favorite. We ended the meal with this lemon curd cake that was AMAZING! Better than last visit however for 5 people and an almost $200 bill, we have room for improvement. Last night in Dallas and we were in search of a good happy hour. The moment we stepped into The Henry, we were in love. We went upstairs first, which was a completely different vibe, with a Hawaiian tiki bar theme. We got a few drinks and apps, which were delish. Most of the drinks were around $9 and the selected apps were $4-5 off. Highly recommend the brussel sprouts! They offer "bites" versions of the entrees as well. We decided we wanted entrees from the full menu, so transitioned downstairs where the ambiance was perfect and classy. Joseph provided us with great service, and gave us a good rundown of the menu. We ordered the Korean skirt steak, braised short ribs, and sea bass. Everything was AMAZING, definitely 10/10! And you know we couldn't leave without dessert. We decided to try the lemon olive oil cake, molten butter cake, and bread pudding. Everything was literally chef's kiss, so much so that I had to request for Chef Khan to come out and let him know myself. Anytime I'm back in Dallas, The Henry is a must! read more

And I am SO glad they have locations in Houston and LA too. Our group had the fried tuna app which had the best crunch from the soft from avocado. Chef's kiss. Followed by their burger and sea bass tacos. I can't speak to the tacos but my husband loved them and so did my friend. My burger was very filling and the truffle fries were salted to perfection and the right crunch. We were mostly full from our food but Colin was kind enough to let us try the fudge pie (I think is what it's called) he described it as a Reese's cup pie and nailed it. SO SO delicious. This is the perfect date, brunch, friend hang out spot. The building is beautiful. We sat inside but the outside looked just as welcoming. It's a very nice restaurant and look forward to exploring other locations soon. Went with a party of 7 on a Saturday night for a birthday dinner. Everything was fantastic! We ordered 3x spicy tuna crispy rice, 3x short rib potstickers, pretzels and fondue, truffle fries for apps. All were delicious. Everybody had various entrees and gave positive reviews all around. Louis was our server and he was excellent. Service was prompt and everything came out as expected. I forgot how great the espresso martinis are! My coworkers who used to work/still do here always say great things about the food and I've always wanted to try! After a rough week, I finally got the opportunity to try. My go-to drink is an espresso martini. My friend told me that it's very sweet and not adjustable because it's batched before. I still wanted to try it though. The Hank's Espresso Martini was good, but indeed very sweet. I also got to try the Seasonal Sangria. It was good and refreshing, but nothing too crazy. Food wise, I ordered the Short Rib Potstickers and the Roasted Chicken and Avocado salad. The Short Rib Potstickers were solid and flavorful. The Roasted Chicken and Avocado salad is basically a cobb salad. It was good as well. Service was efficient and straight to the point, he did what he had to do which was good! Ambiance is casual, but also nice! Definitely suites downtown Dallas vibes and scenery. The interior is nice and my coworker told me upstairs is where a cocktail bar is for happy hour too! It was quite packed on a Friday and I was looking forward to the brunch menu but I didn't realize it was only for weekends. That's on me for not checking. This time the seats were much nicer and not as cramped (I was on the balcony with the nicest views at night) Just like before, I got the short rib pot stickers which are fantastic as usual. Really liking the ponzu and cilantro with the potstickers - a combination I wasn't expected but worked out so nicely. Rigatoni alla vodka was nice - I'd get it again. Burrata cheese was a fantastic addition and made the dish well-rounded. The breaded crumbs made it gently crispy - I really enjoyed how it all tied together. Dessert was the best - loved the lemon olive oil cake and coulis, mascarpone, gelato that tied everything together so well. I was easily blown away by this part - did not expect the strawberry, lemon, gelato and mascarpone to create its own unique flavor profile that slaps! Molten butter cake had more bread than expected and was a bit of a letdown. Not enough caramel inside. I still enjoyed how fluffy and delicious it was! Points for fluffiness. read more

I planned a Christmas dinner at The Henry. It was great working with Brittany from the events management team. Appreciated how responsive and communicative she was, and she also kept me accountable and sent me reminders. Since there were going to be around 16 people, I had to do a prix fixe menu. I was grateful with how flexible the menu was so that I could accommodate folks with specific dietary preferences, such as no pork and vegetarian options. I've never been to The Henry, but I thought it was a fun spot and I was highly entertained. We ordered margarita trees for our tables, which were brought out with sparklers and a whole cheering squad like Las Vegas bottle service. Our server, Lucas, was awesome. He was friendly and helpful, and he took good care of us. He was also transparent about there being another party occupying our table a couple of hours after our reservation. He did a good job managing our time that didn't feel pushy or rushed at all, which also meant our food came out in a timely manner. The prix fixe menu that I curated included a chopped salad as our appetizer; 3 entree choices of salmon, short ribs, or penne alla vodka; and a lemon olive oil cake. The salad was fine, but the entrees and dessert were excellent. I was relieved that the entire party thought so too. I ordered the penne alla vodka as my main dish, which was really good, and I had the pleasure of trying the salmon and short rib. The salmon was beautifully cooked, and I really enjoyed the accompanying crispy quinoa, sweet potatoes, and pomegranate glaze. The super tender braised short rib with creamy mashed potatoes was the ultimate comfort food. You couldn't go wrong picking any of the 3 entrees. Lastly, the lemon olive oil cake was divine. They have a good size bar and some good sounding drinks that i didn't get to try unfortunately. I did get the chicken rotisserie frites and highly recommend. Foodie Alert! I've been to The Henry a few times (celebrated my birthday, dinner, HH, etc.). Overall, my experience has been good. This time was a little different. Upon entering the restaurant, the hostesses seemed to be all over the place, trying to figure out who, what, when, where, and why. They were busy complimenting each other on how they looked rather than being attentive to guests who were arriving and needed to be seated. I had a reservation on this particular day, and it was VERY, very cold. The host took me all the way back to the "outdoor heated" patio, where there was no one out there except for one other couple. Mind you, we passed several tables that were available, or at least seemed to be, so I was confused as to why I was seated on a patio on a VERY cold day. At least ask me if I want to sit on the patio. I want to be inside where it's warm! I asked the server why she seated me on the patio, and she explained (in a very dry, dismissive tone) that when making a reservation, you can sit anywhere in the restaurant, including the patio. Normally, on a warmer day, I wouldn't mind, but since it's freezing outside, I don't understand why I was seated outside. She then proceeded to take me back inside after I told her I would prefer to be seated indoors where it's warm. Aside from that, I enjoyed the experience with the waitress, who was excellent. The food was also great--I had potstickers, Brussels sprouts, and rigatoni à la vodka, with no complaints. I ordered a Sangria as my drink; it was okay, though I might have chosen something else. Unfortunately I would not come back here. We came here on a Saturday night to celebrate my daughter's birthday. She has a gluten allergy so I called during the day to confirm they can accommodate her allergy, they gave me all the reassurance. Let me preface by saying our server was SUPER kind but that wasn't good enough to make up for the evening. We were seated outside and waited forever for our server to show up. I had to flag another server and ask him to find ours. He came back and said "apparently I am your server!" Okay so you didn't even know we were your table? He also had a huge party he was servicing so I knew it was going to be a long night. By the time he came we already knew what we wanted for drinks and apps. He said the truffle fries were not gluten free, so I asked him to go double check, turns out they in fact were. The spicy tuna crispy rice was good but Brussel sprouts too salty. For dinner I had an entire conversation with him about what are "smashed potatoes" and are they gluten free and he said they were. When they brought out my daughter's steak and side, they brought a baked potato. He came and said the baked potato is gluten free. I told him I know but I wanted the gluten free smashed potatoes and he said "oh okay I'll have them make one on the fly." I'm still very unclear as to why that was so confusing. Before dinner came out my husband and I had ordered another glass of wine. Dinner came and we finished dinner and our wines still hadn't arrived. I said I still want mine (6 oz glass) and my husband sent his back. When my glass arrived it was 9 oz and he said don't worry he'll charge for the 6 oz. For dessert he offered to comp any dessert we wanted. It was a nice gesture but none of the desserts sounded that great and also no GF options. Now for the bill. He charged us for the smashed potatoes even though that was his mistake. And the second glass of wine I ordered he charged me for the 9 oz instead of 6 oz. It was bad enough I got charged at all given the delay, how much time does it take to literally pour a glass of wine. We were so exhausted and had run out of patience that we didn't even fight it. Me and my best friend had the pleasure of visiting Henry for the holiday season celebration. The top floor is beautifully decorated with all the lights and glitter. They have a special bites and alcohol menu for that section. You need special reservation for that area and it's phone only so keep that in mind when booking on OpenTable. They ask for $7 charity donation for the Event which goes to a good cause. The place is packed and reservations are tough. The food was okay nothing outstanding. The valet was so freaking rude that I almost didn't go to the restaurant. That was the beginning. We found a parking garage where we were able to get our ticket validated from the restaurant so that made it a lot better. The food was just OK. I got the Wagyu burger picture below and it, although it was good, it just wasn't worth the price that I paid for it. The service was just OK. They weren't that busy and he wasn't very attentive which was disappointing. Nice guy, but just not very attentive overall, I give it almost a four just the valet just pretty much gave it a three but definitely would be back to try other dishes. And park in the garage! I visited The Henry while in town and had a fantastic experience. We started with the Carajito drink, which I was initially concerned might be too sweet due to the banana. But no -- it was absolutely perfection! The balance of flavors was spot on, and I'd highly recommend it. The Old Fashioned was also a hit -- classic and well-executed. For brunch, I had the Eggs Benedict. The dish was delicious overall, though I found the English muffin a little too dry for my taste (I only ate one of the halves). However, everything else was great -- the breakfast potatoes were crispy and seasoned perfectly. We also tried the burger, and wow, it was amazing! The Henry Burger had crispy edges, a juicy interior, and was topped with a flavorful Henry sauce that really elevated the dish. Cooked to a perfect medium-rare, it was just delicious.
