It was such a special day for my son as he proposed to his girlfriend of two years, and choosing Yardbird Table & Bar made the celebration even more memorable. Although they could only accommodate 20 guests, the staff went above and beyond by allowing our additional guests to make separate reservations and strategically seating everyone near our main party. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. The hostess was incredibly understanding and accommodating, even seating our party a little earlier after I explained that we needed to be seated before my son entered with his soon-to-be fiancée. Their kindness and professionalism truly meant a lot to us. Our waitress handled everything with grace and composure, even while clearly managing a very busy evening. Came for brunch before visiting the art museum: food was bomb, and Shonda was THE BEST. Love a server who keeps my coffee cup FULL and gives good, honest recommendations. Started with the biscuits which were hot, fresh, buttery, with a touch of salt. The jam was killer. Followed up with the Holy Trinity Hash, which hits in a skillet. Super delicious. Everything went well! The food was fresh! I had the wedge salad with bacon and not only was it filling but every single ingredient was super fresh and tasted amazing. I ordered the margarita for happy hour and it was made to perfection. Stopped in again with my son today for lunch. Like always the place has an amazing ambiance great for a date or girls night out. For lunch there plenty of seating and no reservation is needed. Their happy hour deals are actually legit! I loved their cocktails and that they don't skimp on the fancy ice or barware just bc it's during happy hour. Their food is actually tasty and the patio is set up nicely for some good people watching. The location is also super close to downtown, uptown, and Klyde Warren park so it makes for a great meeting point before / after events. I have been to Yardbird before, but I think this was the first time since I started my pescatarian diet. The decor is very chic and all the staff was super friendly and helpful. Also love that they comp parking in the parking garage. Our waiter went above and beyond, to make sure I had something good to eat. Andre helped me tweak the chicken and egg sandwich and we switched it out for salmon. I also got a side of their spiced watermelon. It was amazing! I also had some of my friends fried green tomatoes. I just took off the bacon. It was the perfect little bite. Andre also helped my friends and kid with their food selections and answered all of our questions. I also got their smoke on the water cocktail... At first I was a little nervous because it came in a bottle, the bottle was very cute by the way, but can I tell you this drink was hitting! It had the perfect amount of smoke when it came out of the bottle and the flavor, if you like cinnamon and a whiskey, this is the drink for you. My only complaint was the hash brown. It was pretty and it was crispy but it lacked seasoning. And maybe because I ate it last, but it was cold and hard to cut through. I added some hot honey hot sauce and pepper and that helped. They actually tasted like they were made and maybe putting in a refrigerator and brought out later but they still were fantastic but I could tell they were not fresh. Everything else was amazing. I really liked the food although the quantity was not there but I can see for the ambience and highlighting the cuisine. Location -9/10 right off the highway and close to Kyle Warren Park so if it were earlier in the day, the kiddos could play before or after. Service- 8/10. Speed if service was great. However there was not a ton of "checking in". When you're sitting close to the kitchen and several water glasses need to be filled, it makes a customer feel unnoticed. Our order was taken quickly and the food came out expeditiously and piping hot. Food portions 10/10 - Chicken platters were expansive. The four pieces and watermelon with a couple of sides literally fed me, my wife and my six year old son. Food quality- 9/10 Everything was really good. Well seasoned and served hot and fresh. The only ding was that the Collard Greens were too salty. Price 8/10- given the fact that many portions were large, it might be worth offering smaller portions for lower prices. But hey, that might be their business model to feed you and give you enough to take home? This is my second time to this location and I have been to other Yardbird restaurants in Las Vegas and Miami. I'm a fan of the restaurant and it is an easy place to give most people plenty of variety. I'd recommend for a small or a large group. Met with family & friends who were in town for the weekend. When I called to reserve a table which was highly recommended, I was informed due to the size, I needed to put a credit card of file and if we cancelled (as it was less than 24 hrs) I would be charged $25 per person!! Needless to say, we didn't make the reservation and just walked in at 2:30 in the afternoon and literally the place was empty. We were seated immediately and I wish I had gotten the servers name because he was AWESOME, as he asked what we usually like to drink to make drink recommendations as well as made sure that my water glass was always full. We opted for drinks & appetizers, I got the blackberry burbon lemonade however I subbed out the Jim bean for crown, we got the cornbread, the wings (that come with fries), both of the deviled eggs, the BLT, and the Texas Twinkie (happy hour portion). My family member also ordered the shrimp & grits. Personally I loved my drink, I loved the wings, I liked the BLT, everyone liked the cornbread, the eggs were okay, and the Texas Twinkie was my least favorite. My family member said the shrimp & grits were okay, she even mentioned sausage in the dish. Made a reservation and was sat quickly but the whole meal felt rushed and we were not asked if we wanted any deserts or drinks after they took our plates. Just told not even an hour after our reservation that we had to hurry up because they had another party at 7 that had reserved our space. We were not finished yet and felt this was extremely rude. They didn't even offer to move us or apologize just "get out" attitude. We won't be going back and will not be recommending them to anyone. read more

From the moment we walked in and were seated we asked if there is a happy hour and the server advised us that it's only at the bar which is okay but the waitress was not very happy with us from the second she saw us, we asked for a happy hour menu just to make sure we did not want to change the seating, while checking the menu manager Jill approached us and did welcome us on a patio where the happy hour menu was apparently extended to. We ordered multiple drinks and multiple appetizers from the menu and were reviewing main dishes and after we ordered the whole thing went downhill, the orders were coming out chaotically, one person would get all three things that they ordered while the rest wouldn't even have their water, cocktails were messed up one person of our group did not drink and ordered peach lemonade and the waiter brought out 3! Of them for that person Just a mess. And then when the time for the bill come it was all over the place. I was the only one with all items accounted for everybody else had pricing for regular item which were supposed to be discounted during happy hour, they had added alcohol which was not supposed to be there. Probably one of the most expensive fried chicken places I've ever been to, so of course had to try the fried bird. I ordered the Llewellyn half chicken which came as four golden pieces of chicken. On the side are mashed potatoes and a side salad. The mashed potatoes were fine - on the gummier side than fluffy unfortunately, and the side salad was very savory and could have used more acid to provide freshness to offset the fried chicken. The fried chicken was good! Decently crisp despite the reviews on here but not crunchy because the batter is thinner and not super craggy. My dinner mate ordered a charcuterie board which comes more on a tea-tower, multi-level type contraption which included all sorts of dips and sausages. She devoured it by herself and did not need my help. (I didn't want to help her anyway ;) Probably not a destination spot, in my opinion, but if you find yourself traveling to Dallas on the company dime, sure, come through. read more

Server was wonderful, he mentioned he was leaving- but all in the same, excellent. Friendly, warm and helpful. Food was outstanding, Nashville hot chicken and mac n cheese as well as the Wagyu burger! Ordered all as it comes, and excellent. The Ranch dressing should be bottled and sold!!! Beyond amazing! Yardbird is pretty consistent no matter which city you're in. This particular one is stunning. There's a great outdoor area in addition to the standard seating you'd find at most restaurants. The ambiance is great. I ordered the salmon, deviled eggs and cornbread. The salmon was underwhelming, but the cornbread and deviled eggs were tasty. I normally get the short rib, but the recipe has changed a bit. They added mushrooms and that's no bueno for me. The entrance can be a tad tricky and require circling the block a few times, but it's super convenient and the restaurant validates! There is outdoor sweating, but the interior is just chef's kiss. Didn't think I'd like the watermelon paired with it, but it definitely complimented the meal. I love salmon, but wasn't the biggest fan of the salmon dish I ordered. It lacked flavor in my opinion and I've had much better. The deviled eggs make for the perfect appetizer! I don't care for deviled eggs much, but definitely enjoyed these. Had a great meal at Yardbird on a weeknight. The restaurant was quite busy even on a weeknight so a reservation is recommended. The staff seated us quickly on the second floor which we preferred since it was a little quieter than the bustling main floor. They have an extensive drink menu with cocktails and wine options. We tried all the Classic cocktails: the Southern Revival was definitely the best one. For apps, we got a Texas Twinkie and cornbread. The Twinkie was excellent; the glazed syrup over the bacon wrapped jalapeno was awesome. Note it only has one pepper in one portion, so consider ordering multiples for large parties. For main dishes, the chicken & waffles stood out the most. The side watermelon was definitely unexpected but it brought a surprisingly refreshing taste. Have you ever had that one restaurant you keep meaning to try? You hear about it, drive by it, see it in your Yelp searches, but somehow you always end up somewhere else? That's been me and Yardbird for the past year. Even before I relocated to Dallas from Atlanta, Yardbird was on my radar. And this weekend I finally made it in for Brunch, and mostly, it was worth the wait. We visited to celebrate my niece's 7th birthday--she's in her "big girl brunch" era and Yardbird is a great pick for a celebration when you want Southern classics with an upscale twist, and the vibe delivers. Our server Fernando was fantastic--attentive, upbeat, and made sure we were well taken care of. We ordered a spread of brunch staples, including: the iconic Chicken & Waffles, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Deviled Eggs, Crispy Chicken Biscuit Sliders, Fried Okra, Iceberg Wedge Salad, Classic Buttermilk Biscuits and Cheesy Grits. We washed everything down with Southern Sweet Tea, which they offer in several different flavors. Everything came out quickly and was plated nicely. The portions were generous, and most of the food hit the mark: comforting, flavorful, and exactly what you expect from a place that celebrates Southern cooking excellence. Now, the few misses that made this 4 stars for me: #1... I added a note with my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and also mentioned to the hostess upon arrival that we were celebrating a special day for a special little girl. Somehow, the fact we had a birthday at the table never made it to our server. Fernando overheard us at the end and did his best to make up for it with a sweet "Fried Oreo" birthday dessert to-go, which we appreciated, but it would've been nice to have the celebration acknowledged for my niece during the meal and without the prompt. #2 for such a high-profile dish, the Lobster Mac & Cheese (market priced at $69) was underwhelming-- lovely presentation, but bland and a bit forgettable in taste compared to the rest of the meal. #3 the chicken that came with my Chicken & Waffles? Good flavor but soggy skin, even though I requested extra crispy. When fried chicken is your signature dish... the "crisp" matters. Still, Yardbird has a lot going for it. Now that I know which dishes shine, I'll be back with adjusted expectations and an appetite for the ones that do it right. My sister and I stopped in for lunch on a Monday and were seated as soon as we got there. The host, Elizabeth was very sweet and accommodating with us having a toddler and a baby. We were seated in a room area near the kitchen, which is reservable as well for events, parties, etc. the ambience of the restaurant was really cute and had a fresh feel to it with all of the plants /designs along the walls. Our server Christian started us off with an espresso martini, which was a bit on the strong side. A nice way to start the day and brunch. Haha For the appetizer we order deviled eggs and the tortilla soup. The tortilla soup was so flavorful and also had a slight spice to it. Absolutely loved it!! I'm not much of an egg person but my sister thought the eggs were okay and wished the filling would've been creamier. For the price, probably not worth it in my opinion. For entrees we ordered tenders and wings off of the lunch menu. We subbed the fries for Mac & cheese. The Mac was so cheesy and creamy!! I loved the noodles/pasta they used. I will be back for the Lobster Mac & Cheese next time.
