The interior is spacious, fun, and modern, with a fantastic looking bar. Our server explained their specialties and frequently stopped by to check on us and fill our water. We started either the biscuit donut bites, which were generously dusted with cinnamon sugar and had a fantastic chocolate dipping sauce! My fave plate was the server rec of chicken biscuit sliders. The place is beautiful though and was giving elevated casual vibes. Lewellyn's Fine Fried Chicken ($40): Comes with half a bird, mashed potatoes, and a side salad. We swapped the mashed potatoes for crispy brussels. They weren't very crispy but had a generous amount of spiced honey glaze that made them sweet and yummy. The side salad was good. The fried chicken itself was just okay though. There was a lot of meat, and it wasn't dry but the flavors were lacking and the skin wasn't as crispy as I was hoping. I ended up eating mine with a lot of hot sauce. Deviled Eggs with Jalapeno and Bacon Jam ($18): Pretty average. The bacon jam leaned too sweet and overpowered the eggs so you lost any savory flavor. Smoked Sausage ($9): A huge sausage link cut in half with incredible flavor. My friend let me try her sharp cheddar waffle and it wasn't bad but just too subtle for me. It did taste better after air frying it since it crisped up on the outside. Yardbird Hashbrowns ($10): A bit pricey but worth trying at least once. Two thick slabs of hashbrowns that were super crispy and looked and tasted completely different from your typical hashbrowns. Perfectly seasoned too. The dipping sauce was the only miss since it just didn't complement them well. My husband and I shared, and the food was very filling so we had leftovers. read more

We celebrated my daughter birthday at Yardbird, on June 24th 2026 and unfortunately, what should have been a special evening was ruined by the service we received from our waitress, Jayda C. From the moment we were seated and she greeted our table, her attitude came across as rude and unwelcoming. The entire meal felt rushed. She brought out our appetizers, but then immediately took away our appetizer plates, leaving us with nowhere to put our food. Throughout the rest of the meal, she rarely checked on our table. What made the experience even more disappointing was watching her provide attentive, friendly service to the table behind us. She regularly checked on them, boxed up their leftovers, and made them feel valued as guests. When it came to our table, she simply handed us takeout boxes and bags and expected us to package our own food. We have dined at Yardbird several times before, and the staff has always boxed up our leftovers, so this treatment was unusual and disappointing. Another concern was that an 18% gratuity was automatically added to our bill. According to Yardbird's policy, that gratuity is typically added for parties of six or more. Our party consisted of only three adults and two children--a total of five people. We were never given an explanation for why the gratuity was added. The difference in how our table was treated compared to the table behind us left us feeling uncomfortable. While I can't know the reason for the difference in service, it certainly felt as though assumptions were made about us before we were ever given the chance to show otherwise. Our family always tips well for good service, and had we received the level of hospitality we've experienced during previous visits, Jayda would have received more than the automatic gratuity. This experience was especially disappointing because it was my daughter's birthday dinner. We've always enjoyed Yardbird in the past, which makes this visit stand out for all the wrong reasons. I stopped by Yardbirds yesterday after going to the Big3 basketball event downtown with friends. The ambiance at Yardbirds is amazing. It's a southern upscale vibe. Our server was attentive and on point. We started out with a cool nonalcoholic beverage on a hot summer afternoon, the Passion Fruit Breeze. It was the perfect blend of passion fruit with a hint of basil and lemon and topped off with ginger ale. We decided to share family style rotisserie chicken, hot chicken, green, Mac and cheese and deviled eggs. The hot chicken was the best. It really wasn't too spicy but had a nice flavor. I really wasn't sure about the rotisserie chicken after seeing it, but it was actually tasty. It's not as good as the hot chicken but it is good. The rotisserie chicken comes with blackened green beans. Those green beans were delicious. They were spicy but not too spicy and very delightful. The greens were the best side. The Mac and cheese was basic and I would not order it again. The deviled eggs were ok. Overall Yardbird is still a great option and go on open table to book reservations. read more

Stopped in again with my son today for lunch. Like always the place has an amazing ambiance great for a date or girls night out. For lunch there plenty of seating and no reservation is needed. We were greeted by our server almost rapidly and he quickly brought out water. Not long after placing our order or lunch entrees came out and was so enjoyable. Their happy hour deals are actually legit! I loved their cocktails and that they don't skimp on the fancy ice or barware just bc it's during happy hour. Their food is actually tasty and the patio is set up nicely for some good people watching. The location is also super close to downtown, uptown, and Klyde Warren park so it makes for a great meeting point before / after events. The old fashioned was tasty and the popcorn shrimp and wings are can't miss items. I have been to Yardbird before, but I think this was the first time since I started my pescatarian diet. The decor is very chic and all the staff was super friendly and helpful. Also love that they comp parking in the parking garage. Our waiter went above and beyond, to make sure I had something good to eat. The only ding was that the Collard Greens were too salty. Price 8/10- given the fact that many portions were large, it might be worth offering smaller portions for lower prices. Met with family & friends who were in town for the weekend. When I called to reserve a table which was highly recommended, I was informed due to the size, I needed to put a credit card of file and if we cancelled (as it was less than 24 hrs) I would be charged $25 per person!! Needless to say, we didn't make the reservation and just walked in at 2:30 in the afternoon and literally the place was empty. We were seated immediately and I wish I had gotten the servers name because he was AWESOME, as he asked what we usually like to drink to make drink recommendations as well as made sure that my water glass was always full. We opted for drinks & appetizers, I got the blackberry burbon lemonade however I subbed out the Jim bean for crown, we got the cornbread, the wings (that come with fries), both of the deviled eggs, the BLT, and the Texas Twinkie (happy hour portion). My family member also ordered the shrimp & grits. Personally I loved my drink, I loved the wings, I liked the BLT, everyone liked the cornbread, the eggs were okay, and the Texas Twinkie was my least favorite. Although they could only accommodate 20 guests, the staff went above and beyond by allowing our additional guests to make separate reservations and strategically seating everyone near our main party. Probably one of the most expensive fried chicken places I've ever been to, so of course had to try the fried bird. I ordered the Llewellyn half chicken which came as four golden pieces of chicken. On the side are mashed potatoes and a side salad. The mashed potatoes were fine - on the gummier side than fluffy unfortunately, and the side salad was very savory and could have used more acid to provide freshness to offset the fried chicken. The fried chicken was good! Decently crisp despite the reviews on here but not crunchy because the batter is thinner and not super craggy. My dinner mate ordered a charcuterie board which comes more on a tea-tower, multi-level type contraption which included all sorts of dips and sausages. She devoured it by herself and did not need my help. Got the Chicken & Waffles, Grilled Blackened Salmon Filet and Deviled Eggs. You can't go wrong with the chicken and waffles, it's SO good! It comes with honey hot sauce, chilled spiced watermelon, Vermont sharp cheddar cheese waffle, and bourbon maple syrup. The waffles are so fluffy and the chicken is fried to perfection. Didn't think I'd like the watermelon paired with it, but it definitely complimented the meal. I love salmon, but wasn't the biggest fan of the salmon dish I ordered. It lacked flavor in my opinion and I've had much better. The deviled eggs make for the perfect appetizer! I don't care for deviled eggs much, but definitely enjoyed these. Had a great meal at Yardbird on a weeknight. The restaurant was quite busy even on a weeknight so a reservation is recommended. The staff seated us quickly on the second floor which we preferred since it was a little quieter than the bustling main floor. They have an extensive drink menu with cocktails and wine options. We tried all the Classic cocktails: the Southern Revival was definitely the best one. For apps, we got a Texas Twinkie and cornbread. The Twinkie was excellent; the glazed syrup over the bacon wrapped jalapeno was awesome. Note it only has one pepper in one portion, so consider ordering multiples for large parties. For main dishes, the chicken & waffles stood out the most. The side watermelon was definitely unexpected but it brought a surprisingly refreshing taste. The fried chicken was excellent, you won't be disappointed. Overall a lovely experience, def a recommended spot! read more
