I've been to the New York location, and I actually think I prefer the Dallas restaurant. It's spacious yet still feels intimate, with a warm, comfortable atmosphere. The patio is especially nice, with plenty of seating. One thing to note: they don't serve food between 4 and 5 p.m. while transitioning to dinner service, and that wasn't mentioned anywhere. We arrived starving, but Andrea at the bar took great care of us while we waited. I was craving a hot drink, and although there weren't any on the menu, she whipped up an Irish coffee-style cocktail that was delicious. Later I asked for something "cute," and once again she delivered. At 5 p.m. we were seated, and Michael took over from there. We were in no rush, and he let us enjoy the evening at our own pace as we worked our way through appetizers and drinks. Everything we tried was excellent. The calamari was crispy and fresh, the shrimp toast was buttery with just the right amount of crunch, and the fries were a winner. The standout, though, was the ribs. They came with a grilled mandarin orange to squeeze over the meat, adding a bright flavor to ribs that were incredibly tender and practically melted in your mouth. Great food, even better hospitality, and a comfortable atmosphere that makes you want to linger. Little Ruby's was a really solid lunch spot for us, and honestly one of the better service experiences we've had in a while. We came in for lunch and were seated pretty quickly. The staff was super kind and attentive throughout the entire meal. They constantly checked in on us without being overbearing, which we appreciated. Food: Spicy Vodka Pasta + Chicken (8/10): This had a really good flavor profile and the portion size was solid. Adding chicken was definitely pricey at an extra $9, which felt a bit excessive, but overall the dish was still enjoyable and filling. Bronte Burger (8/10): This was probably my favorite entrée. The burger was cooked well and packed with flavor, and the ciabatta bread worked perfectly with it. But honestly, the real star was the truffle fries and truffle mayo sauce, which was a 10/10 alone. My wife and I could not stop eating them. Easily the highlight of the meal for us. My only small complaint was the water cups being tiny. I felt bad because the staff had to keep refilling my water every few minutes. But again, they were so attentive that my glass never stayed empty long. Visited this after work with my husband and we had a great experience! I knew I wanted to try the spicy vodka pasta with the fried chicken on top- and it was delicious. The pasta was the real show stopper and I would def order again. Had a great time trying Lil Ruby's, went on a Saturday morning and was sat fairly quickly. The outside patios are super cute however, I do wish they had fans. The food also took a while to come out, and we weren't asked if we wanted dessert, which made the service feel inattentive overall To start, I ordered the strawberry lemonade. All of their juices are made fresh, and this one was very refreshing. For my main, I tried the spicy vodka pasta. It had a strong basil flavor, which made it taste different from a typical spicy vodka pasta. Since I'm not a fan of basil, I found it to be just average and have definitely had better spicy rigatoni elsewhere. Interestingly, it tasted better the next day, with a less pronounced basil taste. The fries came with an aioli sauce that was exactly what you'd expect - good, but nothing memorable. On their own, the fries weren't particularly a standout either. Tried Little Ruby's Café for the first time last night and had a great experience. The space is super cute inside with a warm, slightly dark ambiance that feels perfect for either a casual dinner or a date night. The calamari was amazing and a great way to start the meal. I also tried a couple of the non-alcoholic drinks, the passionfruit ginger and the strawberry lemonade, and both were excellent and really refreshing. For cocktails, I had the spritz with prosecco and St-Germain, which was light, refreshing, and well balanced. Food-wise everything was really strong. The bolognese was delicious and the noodle texture was perfect. No notes there. The spicy vodka pasta was flavorful and actually had a real kick to it, which I appreciated. The salmon was the standout for me. It was cooked beautifully and the sauce it came in was incredible. Very velvety, flavorful, but still light. I would highly recommend ordering the salmon. Service was great, very attentive and kind throughout the meal. If they are newly opened, they are already off to a strong start. I have a bone to pick with this place. First of all, i ask for a table for one, hostess tells me to go to the bar and that there's plenty of seating (news flash it was full and i had to wait 5 minutes looking like a fool) i wait another 10-15 min before im even given water or acknowledged as a costumer, the girl who took my order is super rude. Little Ruby's is a somewhat new restaurant to the area, and I believe is a perfect addition to the Uptown food scene vibe. It's a new construction building nestled behind the Bank OZK building, and the whole surrounding area reflects a modern and clean atmosphere. Parking is easy to find and available below the building and is validated by the restaurant. We originally booked for an inside spot at 7pm, but the weather turned out nice so the hostess was kind enough to let us move to an outdoor seat. The venue is beautiful, well-decorated, and comfortable. The road isn't loud at all if you sit outside, however our table was really wobbly so you might need to grab a cocktail napkin and stuff it underneath the table to keep your meal steady. To start, I ordered the guava slushy. I love sweet drinks, and this definitely fulfilled any sugar cravings. It was yummy and I appreciated the cocktail design. Glass was a little small for the price though! My friend ordered the jalapeño margarita, which I had a sip. We both enjoyed the drink as it was refreshing without being overly powerful on the alcohol taste. Our server Lane was great and super attentive. He recommended the shrimp toast and the burrata. Both dishes came out SUPER QUICKLY which we were pumped about because it was a post work hunger. Both were excellent. The shrimp toast was crispy and could stand alone, but was extra delicious when eaten with the spicy aioli. The burrata was fresh and creamy, but the cheese portion itself felt a bit small for two people. However, the overall flavor profile accompanying the cheese with the sweetness of the pear combined with of tangy from cucumbers was next level delicious. Would come back just for the burrata! For the entrees, I got the brick chicken and my friend ordered the tagliatelle bolognese. I enjoyed my chicken and thought the honey mustard jus was delicious, but it was just that. Good chicken. I wish there was a side or something additional to add an extra wow factor, especially since the appetizers were such stand outs. My friend thought their pasta was also good and well-priced for what they received. To accompany our meals, we also both ordered the Aussie Mule, which I enjoyed but was just a pretty standard mule. Nothing too different in the taste of Australian ginger beer, just as yummy as another other kind! While we skipped dessert this time, I really loved how they provided checks with postcards. We recently checked out Little Ruby's and overall had a mixed experience. The space itself is really cute. It's long and narrow with great energy and it feels like a trendy martini diner you'd stumble into in NYC. The aesthetic is on point and the vibes are good. Service was warm and friendly. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive to the table, but she felt a bit green and unfamiliar with the menu. It might help if the kitchen had the wait staff try more of the dishes so they can speak confidently about them; it would elevate the experience. Drinks were solid. I ordered my go-to Reposado Old Fashioned. It was well made flavor-wise, but it was served over regular ice instead of a large block, which watered it down a little too quickly. For a properly crafted cocktail, that detail matters. We also ordered a couple of Pornstar Martinis, which were well received, and a Mango Margarita that looked great (didn't get a chance to try it myself). For appetizers, we had the burrata spread. The spread itself was delicious, but oddly it doesn't come with anything to scoop it with. We had to add sourdough slices just to enjoy it properly. That feels like an easy fix... chips, pita, crudités, or even basic veggies would solve the problem. We also got the avocado spread, which was excellent and came with flatbread (that one was done right). For mains, we ordered the NY Strip and the Glazed Ribs. The steak was supposed to be medium rare but came out very overcooked, closer to well done, and tasted tough. The sauce and horseradish lacked flavor as well. It was poorly executed, especially for a steak in TX. The ribs, however, were really good -- flavorful and cooked properly. If you're deciding between the two, skip the steak and go with the ribs. For sides, the Pomme Purée was great -- creamy and well done. The grilled broccolini was fine but basic. In hindsight, we probably should've tried the Brussels sprouts; they looked great at the table next to us. Overall: great atmosphere, good drinks, solid ribs, but some execution issues in the kitchen. With a few tweaks, this place could really level up. read more

I was looking for a brunch spot this morning and Little Ruby's caught my eye! I had no idea they were so newly open! Our server told me that its been a week! Love being one of the first to try a place. So, when I searched on yelp, they came up in my brunch search and we made a reservation. However, when I went online to look at the menu while we were waiting, I did not see a brunch or breakfast menu, so I thought we were going to be stuck with lunch and dinner items which I wasn't really in the mood for but their lunch and dinner menu does look good. When they gave us the paper menu, there was a brekkie section so that was perfect. This place is really interesting because how many Australian food restaurants are there around and how many times can you say you've had Australian food when you haven't been to Australia? I will say that nothing we ate seemed all that international. However, they definitely did have some Australian looking items on the menu, notably Vegemite toast, which of course we did not get. I went online to make a reservation around 10:30 am and was able to get a table for 2 at 11:15. Parking is either on the street or valet. We opted for street parking so I'm not sure if the valet is complimentary or not. We waited by the bar for about 5 minutes for our table to be ready and we had gotten there at 11 so it was fine. Our server was friendly and attentive, taking drink, orders and bringing water right away. I really like that their water glasses were really small maybe 4 ounces and then they had a bottle of still water at the table as well so you could refill as needed. I ended up ordering the breakfast bowl, which was not quite what i expected, and my dad ordered the ricotta hotcakes. We also shared the grilled halloumi. The breakfast bowl is avo, prosciutto, whipped ricotta, peas, sprouts, poached eggs and sourdough. Normally, would you get a breakfast bowl, its kind of all mixed together. This presentation had everything in a bowl but very separate. I loved this meal and would order it again. The whipped ricotta was in the middle and it had the peas and sprouts on top of it beautiful and refreshing. You got half of an avocado sliced and it was perfectly ripe and there weren't any brown spots or anything gross on it. Often when I get actual avocado in a restaurant it's not fully ripe or healthy looking so I was very pleased with that. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked, nice and jammy. The toast was lovely and the perfect vehicle to load everything up on. The prosciutto was good, pretty standard. The grilled halloumi was 2 spears grilled and served with a piece of lemon to squeeze on top. It was highly recommended by our server but it wasn't that exciting. I'm not sure if they were just trying to upsell us or if they actually really liked it. My dad ordered had the pancakes (with coffee). The pancakes (hotcakes) were served with bruleed banana halves, maple butter and maple syrup. He enjoyed them. I took a bite and found that they were raw in the middle. He didnt seem to mind and they werent all that way, but not impressed. We did not bring it to anyones attention to do anything about so that's on us. I'm sure they would have fixed it if we had said something. They were very attentive with lots of staff throughout making sure all was good. Everything was very quick and i think it was about 30 minutes from start to finish and we were thanked by several employees on our way out. I was excited to try this new spot in Dallas. I made a reservation online, and when my friend ended up running late due to traffic, I called about an hour beforehand to see if we could move the reservation. Because of the rain, they had to move all outdoor reservations inside and were not able to keep our table. However, they were able to secure a high-top table for us, which I really appreciated. When we arrived, we were seated next to the bar and I immediately loved the ambiance. The restaurant has a warm, dimly lit glow that makes the space feel cozy and inviting. My friend and I had already been watching videos online of what to order, so we decided on the whipped avocado, grilled chicken with spicy vodka pasta, and the sticky date pudding for dessert. The whipped avocado was excellent, especially with the pita that came with it. The avocado flavor was noticeable but not overwhelming. The spicy vodka pasta was decent, though slightly saltier than I would have preferred. I did enjoy the shape of the pasta since it held little pockets of sauce that burst when you bit into it. The grilled chicken was a bit thin for my liking but otherwise pretty standard. The standout dish of the night was the sticky date pudding. The contrast between the warm cake-like pudding and the cold vanilla ice cream was incredible. The ice cream balanced the richness of the dessert perfectly. For drinks, we ordered the Pornstar Martini and the Yuzu Jalapeño Margarita, and both were great. Service was also fantastic. The staff was attentive throughout the night and checked in between dishes to see if we needed anything. Portions are fairly generous, especially the mains, which made for great leftovers. I also loved the small touch of matchbooks that guests can take home. It is a fun detail that adds to the experience. Overall, it was a great dinner. I would definitely come back for drinks paired with the whipped avocado or the sticky date pudding. read more

The service, food, and ambiance were amazing!!! Our server was kind, brought our drinks and food fast. She refilled our waters and made sure everything was good. Our spicy vodka pasta and Alfredo pasta was delicious as well as the vanilla lattes and strawberry lemonade! read more

Thanks to social media for introducing me to Little Ruby's! We were attending a show downtown and decided to have dinner beforehand. There is a parking garage underground and they validate parking. They said it would be $5 but we didn't get charged, so may change in the future! There was also some street parking by the apartments. We made a reservation for Sunday night, but didn't need one, which is good to know for future. We chose to sit on the patio, which is nice and shaded at 6pm. The patio is huge and the bench seats are very comfortable. They have little lamps for when it gets darker, but the flies started to get a bit annoying as the evening went on. I got the spicy vodka pasta and fries. The fries were delicious, as was the pasta, but the pasta wasn't hot and the fries could've used more aioli. I ate about half of each while there and the rest reheated wonderfully, but again, had no aioli for the other half of the fries. Servers seemed to rotate, or maybe just our table, which was a bit confusing. But our waters were refilled frequently, which was needed with tiny glasses.
