Fancy spot! You wouldn't mind if I review it, would you? Eating out in Dallas can get really expensive, really quick. Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests. read more

We went to Haywire on a Friday night during happy hour. I made reservations in advance so just a slight wait. The place is so cute and there were many graduations parties going on. We were seated near the kitchen so we could see all the hustle and bustle. Parking was easy, we found the garage and took note of the parking spot level. Thankfully they give free parking validation, so make sure to scan the code once inside. Food was good. We ordered drinks then appetizer of pork belly. I enjoyed it. For entrees, I had the chicken fried chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes. It was good and plenty because I had to take some with me. Found this restaurant here on Yelp as we were looking for something close to American Airlines to get a good meal. Loved everything about our waiter Kev. Knowledgeable about the menu & great recommendations. Kev was a joy to have as our server. The food is amazing & love the ambiance of the restaurant. My only complaint...we came in early Saturday prior to Stars game. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked if we had a reservation. We did not, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. We called ahead to confirm if our party of 8 could be accommodated and were told it wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, when we arrived 10 minutes later, we were told they couldn't seat us even though the restaurant appeared nearly empty at the time. It was disappointing because we had specifically called in advance to avoid exactly that situation. Clear communication about availability would have saved everyone time and frustration. The space itself looked beautiful and the menu sounded great, which is why we chose to try Haywire in the first place. I hope the team can improve how large-party inquiries are handled so future guests have a smoother experience. read more

The food and service were amazing. We went on a Saturday evening and had no wait time. The decor has a modern western feel which is cozy and chic. The food came out hot and fresh. The drinks were delicious. I had a frozen margarita. What makes me wanna go back again and again are the baby back ribs. Best I've had since I moved to Dallas a year ago. UPDATE: Came on a Tuesday evening and sat at the bar. I will say it was busy but I was disappointed in how long it took to get my food. The bartender Myles, had to check twice. Also two men sat next to me about 10 minutes after I ordered and they only ordered the tacos but those came out in less than 5 minutes while I had already been waiting like 25 mins for my food. I ordered the $30 women's month special which consisted of a 5oz steak, Caesar salad, fries and l did a lemon drop martini versus the dry martini. In looking at the glasses other people's martinis came in, I feel like I received a smaller glass for. I drink - it wasn't in the typical martini glass. And no they didn't run out of glasses nor was it specific to this meal because other ladies at the bar who had the same meal, had a martini glass. Overall this was a 5/10 for me. Steak was salty and lukewarm, fries were cold and I wasn't a fan of the salad. I think it was the Caesar dressing na famine the lettuce. But the ranch and barbecue sauce were good. Despite having a reservation, my group still had to wait 15 to 20 minutes just to be seated. The service was just okay, nothing terrible, but it didn't exactly make up for the initial wait. However, the real disappointment was the food. Most of our entrees were over-seasoned (specifically very salty) and felt quite underwhelming for the price point. Stopped by for lunch and enjoyed my experience! We were sat in the "covered patio" side of the restaurant which I loved. It was so warm and cozy. Our server Jen was great! The most memorable thing about our lunch was the choice of unique flavors for every menu item. From the broccolini and green beans to the creamy corn, to the chicken fried steak. Everything had its own original flavor. I can't say there's anywhere else restaurant wise I could compare the flavors here to. I think my food was slightly lacking in salt but for most things on the table I was able to add that myself. I was just hoping for more saltiness in the chicken fried steak batter. For this outing I sat at the bar with bartender Paul to enjoy my food, I ordered the barbacoa stroganoff with everything on the side. Now while this dish was good, it did have a tang to it, weird but It did work. I had the Texas mule minus the jalapeño. The manger tuner was delivering food and cleaning tables. We had a reservation for 6:45 and arrived at 6:50--no long wait at all, which was perfect since we were rolling 12 deep. We went to celebrate Women's month with their Cowgirl Dinner-- steak, fries, salad & choice of lemon drop or dirty martinis for only $30! Steak was cooked perfectly! Fries were delicious and crispy. Salad was okay... drinks were exceptional & STRONG (we tried their Bluebonnet 75, espresso martini, a spicy jalapeño something, the mimosa flight & the drinks that came with the special). We also got their lump crab dip and fried green tomatoes, both were so so good! Our waitress was great and attentive. I deducted a star because even with reservations we still had to wait a good while for our table-- the place was SUPER busy and packed for a Sunday-- but I added it back in because of the convenience of parking and the elevator bringing you right into the restaurant. I came for brunch around noon on a Saturday and it wasn't packed at all. Haywire has one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had. Absolutely top 3. The cold brew they use has a lot of flavor on its own and I appreciate they did not use any kahlua. My friend and I shared the lemon blueberry biscuits as an appetizer.. such a great balance of sweet and tart. I chose the barbacoa chilaquiles. My only complaint would be the amount of fat on the meat made some of the bites unpleasant. Still had great flavor. My friend chose the pastrami hash with the duck egg. Brought my granddaughter her for the first time. My granddaughter said this is my first time here and the worst I've experienced. We had to send back our blueberry biscuits three times because they were cold. On the third time we couldn't even pull them apart. My food came out, I was trying to be polite.
