I have been here a number of times and have never been disappointed. My favorite is the venison chili and sweet cornbread! The chili is meat heavy and a tad spicy- to perfection. The cornbread is as moist as cake and just sweet, cannot recommend this enough even if it's just a side order. I've come here for a personal and business meals, and it accommodate both nicely. The rustic decor and music are top-notch, it feels elevated. Parking is in the garage downstairs and a short elevator ride up helps you avoid the inclement weather outside. We went to Haywire on a Friday night during happy hour. I made reservations in advance so just a slight wait. The place is so cute and there were many graduations parties going on. We were seated near the kitchen so we could see all the hustle and bustle. Parking was easy, we found the garage and took note of the parking spot level. Thankfully they give free parking validation, so make sure to scan the code once inside. Food was good. We ordered drinks then appetizer of pork belly. I enjoyed it. I ordered the $30 women's month special which consisted of a 5oz steak, Caesar salad, fries and l did a lemon drop martini versus the dry martini. In looking at the glasses other people's martinis came in, I feel like I received a smaller glass for. I drink - it wasn't in the typical martini glass. And no they didn't run out of glasses nor was it specific to this meal because other ladies at the bar who had the same meal, had a martini glass. Overall this was a 5/10 for me. Despite having a reservation, my group still had to wait 15 to 20 minutes just to be seated. The service was just okay, nothing terrible, but it didn't exactly make up for the initial wait. Some of the best bbq food I've ever had!! Baby back ribs were so lean and flavorful and sauce was spiced just right and not too sweet. I will dream about those ribs!! broccolini and tomato side was garden fresh perfection. Corn muffin was toasty and perfectly sweet and buttery. And the apps we shared were amazing! Hey! I didn't know this was a sister restaurant to The Ranch so if you have been there it's practically the same thing. I had been wanting to go here forever and finally did I thought it would be a new experience or different but it wasn't it's the same food as The Ranch but both places are fire regardless. Hey now! Hey nowww! What a cute rustic, place that's for everyone. I love how everyone is dressed up and wearing cowboy hats! I think that's so neat! For this outing I sat at the bar with bartender Paul to enjoy my food, I ordered the barbacoa stroganoff with everything on the side. Now while this dish was good, it did have a tang to it, weird but It did work. I had the Texas mule minus the jalapeño. The manger tuner was delivering food and cleaning tables. I confirmed with this little girl FOUR TIMES IF 1. They had valet available today 2. If it was complimentary. Come to find out it was not complimentary. And $7 for parking just doesn't sit well with me when there are ample free options else where with satisfying beverage, meal, ambiance, and service. All of which, I DID NOT GET AT HAYWIRE. I come in and although I had a reservation that I was 10 minutes early for while noticing tables available, I was told by that same girl who lied to me about parking I needed to take a seat. Reassuring me that it would only take two minutes to be seated. 10 minutes later I see coupled and groups walking in and guess what? They were immediately sat. While I am waiting to be sat at one of the three clean tables I'm staring at. I finally tell my boyfriend I am about to eat at the bar and he goes to the hostess stand to inform them our frustration and guess what? We were sat immediately. I get seated and there are two standing fans placed next to my table that's blowing my hair all over the f*****g place. I had to tell them to turn them off. What? No AC in this place either?? We immediately ordered and got the elk tacos for an appetizer. The tacos are WAY too spicy and way too salty. Too spicy AND too salty?? They're a no for me. You literally can't taste anything because of both! I HATED these little tacos. Probably the worst I've ever had. Ever seen someone attempt to pinch a bit of salt to season and the entire top comes off?? These tacos. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak. He loved it (loves spicy and seasonings because he's Cajun) but I tried it and it was over seasoned. Again? Couldn't taste what I was eating. The mashed potatoes were divine. Enjoyed those! And then the green beans were tasteless. Hahaha what a joke. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles and it was literally too spicy to eat. Inedible. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. We had a reservation for 6:45 and arrived at 6:50--no long wait at all, which was perfect since we were rolling 12 deep. Valet parking was super convenient and only $7, which covered our cars all the way until closing (a huge plus since we lingered over conversation after dinner). Our server Juan deserves a special shoutout! He was patient, engaging, and always checked in with a smile to make sure our table was taken care of. With a large group, service can sometimes slip, but he kept the energy flowing and the refills coming--truly top notch. I went with a glass of Riesling (solid, crisp, just as expected), while many of my sisters enjoyed the mocktails, which were a big hit. We ordered a variety of appetizers and entrées, and not one plate disappointed. I came for brunch around noon on a Saturday and it wasn't packed at all. Haywire has one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had. Absolutely top 3. The cold brew they use has a lot of flavor on its own and I appreciate they did not use any kahlua. My friend and I shared the lemon blueberry biscuits as an appetizer.. such a great balance of sweet and tart. I chose the barbacoa chilaquiles. My only complaint would be the amount of fat on the meat made some of the bites unpleasant. Still had great flavor. My friend chose the pastrami hash with the duck egg. We ordered several things Mimosa Flight, Fried Green Tomatoes, Crab Dip, and The Cowgirl Dinner. Everything tasted really good and fresh. The Cowgirl Dinner which is their special stood out the most. It comes with a 5oz steak, Fries and Caesar Salad. The steak was tender and flavorful and the fries were delicious. Salad was okay... drinks were exceptional & STRONG (we tried their Bluebonnet 75, espresso martini, a spicy jalapeño something, the mimosa flight & the drinks that came with the special). We also got their lump crab dip and fried green tomatoes, both were so so good! Our waitress was great and attentive. I deducted a star because even with reservations we still had to wait a good while for our table-- the place was SUPER busy and packed for a Sunday-- but I added it back in because of the convenience of parking and the elevator bringing you right into the restaurant.
