She provided an excellent overview of the menu and provided recommendations (if you ever come try to sit in her section)! I started out with the Endless Pit of Desire and this was a delicious drink - made perfectly! I love Buffalo Trace so on my next trip, I'll have to try a drink with that. We ordered appetizers of Caviar Bites (x2) and Whipped Ricotta. Then we ate the Ricotta Gnudi - I enjoyed the duck/duck skin in the pasta but wish the carrots were cooked a little bit more - dipping the pasta in their crunchy bread made the dish better! My main included - Prawn Scampi - and I enjoyed it. The prawn was cooked good and the noodles were settled nicely in the sauce. My only complaint would be the saltiness of the dish. The Bone Marrow fries, as a side, is a nice touch! We did enjoy the fries as the marrow added very tasty notes! This was my second time at the establishment, but first time at this newer location. Came in for a birthday dinner, and we were sat immediately, and did not have to wait long for our servers to great us. For the table we ordered the ravioli and oysters on the half shell as apps. Both were really good, the ravioli is a relatively small portion size, but it makes up for it in the flavor department. The oyster were fresh and I enjoyed the mignonette.. Service once the food arrived was lacking, I had to ask for pepper 3x before finally getting it. The crab and lobster spaghetti was just okay for, I didn't feel like there was too much crab in there, and I would have liked the pasta portion to have a little more as-well. When we arrived the restaurant it was very dark with low warm lighting at the tables, in the middle of our dinner, unannounced they decided to open the curtains and make the restaurant SUPER bright to the dismay of the entire restaurant. I like to ask for their opinion of what to order and she couldn't recommend anything. She was also not friendly or polite. That probably should have been a red flag. For our main, my lover and I split the pork chop. This was an absolute beauty. So perfectly cooked and displayed in such a lovely way, begging to be devoured. Double cut, double delish. The charred Brussels sprouts were a lovely accompaniment. And...after reading all about them, we got the bone marrow fries. It feels like a bit of misnomer to call them that. The fries are undoubtedly tasty. And the spectacle of a person using a torch to melt what is most likely an herb butter that has been placed into a bone onto fries is fun and unique, but it isn't just marrow being melted with a torch onto fries. Let's just call them what they are. We were too stuffed for dessert, so Stephanie was kind enough to have a limoncello sip made for us to finish out the meal. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at The Saint. Our waiter, Joe, went above and beyond to not only make our anniversary meal special but also accommodate an allergy. I gave this place two tries and the second visit was a hit! First, the vibe is very chill and stylish. The location is hidden off Gaston with just a black door. When you enter there are eye painting everywhere which is kind of cool. Lights are dim and they have designated seating at the bar and bar adjacent. Larger tables throughout the venue for bigger parties. I really thought the atmosphere was chic. The drinks were by far my favorite. Try the one with Mezcal! Delicious. The food was OK. What an incredible night of dining for us a this gem of an Italian steakhouse. We chose to sit at the bar which wound up being a great decision because the insight we got from the bartenders on the food was insane. We started with the bread and beef tallow candle. It's actually candle that melts and you dip the bread in to soak up the rich flavor. We got oysters, which were solid. The Italian onion soup was packed with flavor and just delicious, definitely a must try. We also had the caviar, twice! We were able to get it on tiny baked potatoes! The brisket ravioli is something I have yet to see at any other resturant, and it didn't disappoint. The hand made fresh rigatoni was also a star dish. I easily could have had multiple dishes of both. The Texas wagyu ribeye was unreal. I've had plenty of ribeye before but this steak just crushed it!! I also got to order the burger which the bartender recommended and is off menu. Let me tell you, it was a damn good burger. I'd order that burger every single time I'm there. Came here on a Saturday for a date night and overall had a pretty good experience. It was a little empty when we arrived at 6:45 pm and I was easily able to push my reservation back by 15 minutes which worried me a bit, however the crowd picked up closer to 7 pm. For drinks I started with a cosmopolitan martini which was delicious and perfectly balanced and I was so excited to see Franciacorta being offered by the glass so that was my second drink! For appetizer we started with 1/2 dozen oysters and the lobster arancini. The oysters were great and nice and fresh. Loved the lobster arancini and was happy with the amount of lobster meat! For entrees we ordered a Filet Mignon, Rigatoni Carbonara, Brussel Sprouts and Bone Marrow Fries. The filet was good but a bit salty. The rigatoni was also good but it was definitely lacking on the pancetta flavor and just a few too many peas. The Brussel sprouts were also good but it had something that made it entirely too creamy which made the dish a bit heavy which kind of defeats the purpose of having a vegetable. The bone marrow fries were the high list of the meal - SO GOOD. For dessert I was disappointed they only had two options. We got the dark chocolate creme brûlée and it was just average -- dark chocolate and custard just don't go together. All in all we had a good experience, but not a GREAT experience. read more

Our waitress was absent quite a bit, meanwhile, the waiter at the next table was constantly present and had high energy; we found ourself wishing we could trade waiters by the middle of dinner. Sadly, it took so long to get the sides of our dinner, we sent items back because they were cold. Yukon gold potatoes with roasted garlic and crispy onions was amazing. I was super excited for the white asparagus, the top 2/3 cooked al dente. The bottom 1/3 was very fibery. The manager came by to check and I let him know to inform the chef, hopefully they change up prep based on the quality of the ingredients. Saturday night we're in the neighborhood for a Flamenco event. Looking for a place nearby and came across this. Pricy for a spur-of-the-moment dinner, but the night was magical up to that point, so why not dive into the deep end and see what happens? I can report that it was mostly positive! First, I checked online and it seems we could get a reservation in the bar, lounge or main dining room within 15 minutes. Knowing that, I decided to just drive over and do a walk in, as I had no clue where I would want to sit. We valet parked, walked in and were greeting by a nice hostess who pointed out the various spaces and said we could have our pick. Nothing happening in the lounge, bar was of course bar seating (high chairs) so we went for main dining room and were placed at a two top near the back of the house. Not great as all I could see was the back wall, but there wasn't much to look at people-wise as it was a very light Saturday night for 8:30. As for ambiance, it's dark, dark walls, floor, ceiling... very much a 40's speakeasy feel. I loved it. Our hostess turned out to be our waitress, which was good as she was personable, and knew about a few things on the menu, to help guide us. It was late so we decided we would just do some shared plates. Started with whipped ricotta served with some hot honey drizzled over it and pepper flakes. Toasted bread was perfect. This dish was 5 I had a half dozen gulf oysters. Mississippi I think she said. They were tasty- I prefer gulf oysters for their full flavor- but they were very small. Served with some interesting "sauce"- rose mignonette... which is generally made with finely minced shallots, cracked black pepper, and vinegar, often red or white wine vinegar or champagne vinegar. I know this is the stuff of high end dining, but I would have preferred a red cocktail sauce with a bit too much horseradish. When it comes to oysters I'm traditional that way. And while Pappadeaux generally offers both with their oysters, I tend to skip the fancy stuff, and either have them raw by sliding them into my mouth, with the juice, directly from the shell, or dunking in that overly hot cocktail sauce. I'm going 3 here. Maybe it's just me. Probably. Next up was the Gorgonzola Tortellini. I'm not going into detail here. I'm just giving it 5 and saying don't miss this! It was the highlight of our meal. Amazing! One to the entree: Pan Seared Diver Scallops. 4 scallops as I recall. Creamy mascarpone polenta, Wagyu bacon jam. I'm quite mixed on this dish. I love real scallops. But even if these were real, it was had to tell as they were very small cubes, and chewy. The bacon jam was a nice touch. The best thing about this dish was the "garnish" they called mascarpone polenta. It was 3 clumps of arugula with seemingly thin crunchy strips of parmesan on a bed of mascarpone. I would love to have a full salad of that! It was delicious. The scallops themselves just were underwhelming. Especially at $38. 3 As a side we had the Mac and cheese. We were warned about its sharpness. After the Gorgonzola tortellini it seems fairly ordinary. Not sharp at all. And we were sold on it because we love sharp aged cheese. If it's for crystals forming, I want it! I'm going to say skip this and try something else. 2 For desert, a wonder chocolate pana cotta. If it were not so chilled I might go higher than 4 In summation, there is a lot I like here. I suspect if I lived in the area I'd want to find my groove with this menu as I bet some of our poor choices could be replaced with better choices. After tip we were just north of $200.00. And remember we had one entree. I should mention the valet just handed us our key and didn't even bother to point out our car. Which was close by, but seriously, bring up the car, ope the door for the lady, and I've got a nice tip for you. Just hand me my keys and continue your convo with the other guy standing there? I made a reservation for Saturday evening and first off I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere of this place! Luxurious, classy and dim lighting for a perfect date night. My fiancé and I ordered the ricotta cheese appetizer and filet mignon's with a side of Mac and cheese and papas bravas. Be careful because they definitely mean bravas!! Everything was so good, I think the filet mignon is a must try. The sauce it comes with pairs perfectly.
