If you're looking for a great dining experience in Dallas, Fearing's is now at the top of my list! We visited it during restaurant week but now I want to go back and get some more from the main menu! I started with the shrimp aquachile and it was delicious. It had a subtle spice but also felt some Asian flavors to it. Next, I had the Denver steak. It was mouthwatering! They cooked it perfectly and there is a southwestern rub on the edges that give it a nice feel to compliment the texture of the smooth steak. Finally, I had the chocolate tart for dessert. It was so rich and decadent. I'm a chocolate lover and it was the perfect cake! The staff was amazing. Though this gives a very upscale vibe, the staff made us felt comfortable and relaxed and they were very attentive to us. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Holiday Tea at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas -- Extremely Disappointing Experience I attended the Holiday Tea at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas expecting a polished, festive afternoon. Unfortunately, the service and overall execution were so poor that it didn't resemble Ritz-level hospitality at all -- nor the standards of a Michelin-recommended property like Fearing's. Food The savory items were the highlight: * The smoked salmon & crème fraîche sandwich was excellent -- easily the best bite of the day. * The lobster roll was a close second and very well done. After that, things went downhill: * The scones were cold and tasted day-old. * The desserts were lackluster and largely forgettable, which made the long wait for them even more disappointing. Service Problems The service was the most concerning aspect of the entire experience. Missing Basics * Our table wasn't set with teaspoons, which is baffling for a tea service. * The waiter poured the wrong teas into both cups, and then we didn't see anyone again for 35 minutes. * I had to request a spoon just to stir my tea. Later, when desserts arrived, we had to request spoons again -- including for items that require one, like the peppermint verrine. Food Handling Concerns Multiple moments felt unprofessional and unsanitary: * Staff carried the tiered cake stands down by the floor instead of elevated or on a cart. * We watched a waiter talk to a cake stand by his leg before delivering it to another table. * Our server pointed at each dessert with her finger, unsure of what any of them were despite the printed menu. * She also wiped something off the serving stand with her bare finger before setting it down. * By dessert time, I had finished my entire pot of tea and was never offered a refill. Slow, Disjointed Timing * Sandwiches and tea: 35-minute wait * Desserts: another 30-minute wait * Total time before we brought concerns up: 1 hour and 30 minutes Resolution When I finally mentioned the missing spoons and long delays, I told the waiter it wasn't his fault. He replied, "Yes, it is," and told us not to pay for the tea. We insisted on paying so we could leave a tip. The hostess generated a bill for 11 cents, and we left a $100 tip for the staff. A kind gesture -- but it highlighted how unusual and uncomfortable the entire experience had become. Overall This Holiday Tea was not representative of The Ritz-Carlton. The sandwiches were genuinely good, but the cold scones, mediocre desserts, and deeply unprofessional service overshadowed everything. I truly hope this was just an off day, because based on this visit, the Holiday Tea fell far below what the Ritz-Carlton Dallas is known for.

Came here for Mother's Day brunch over the weekend. I was a bit disappointed in the service originally as I had to call 6 TIMES before I got a hold of someone as my daughter has celiac (gluten allergy) and I wanted to ensure they could accommodate. When I finally got a hold of someone they confirmed they could accommodate her but wouldn't tell me what her food options would be. LUCKILY she loves filet but that was the only option for her and I imagine many kids would be disappointed by that. Also her filet ended up a bit salty so that was a bummer. For the kids the starter was a berry bowl which they forgot to bring out until we reminded them. My other daughter had chicken fingers for her main entree and for dessert my celiac daughter got a flourless chocolate cake and my other daughter had a few small different desserts. I started with the fried shrimp Cobb salad which was really good but it was totally unnecessary to fry the shrimp, it really should have been grilled or sautéed because frying it made the whole dish super heavy. I got the halibut as my main entree which was good but a bit bland. Dessert was a variety of small desserts. Overall we were underwhelmed and service was also quite slow.

Came here for Valentine's Day and it was amazing outside the forever wait time. They stayed open to accommodate the crowd. While we waited, I ordered a dirty Shirley from the bar and it truly was the best I've had. When we were finally seated, the fine dining experience began immediately upon being seated. We even received this delicious, unexpected mushroom tarte from the chef. Chefs kiss :) For starters, we began with a trio of sampler items they had on the menu (see photos). Delicious! Then, we I had a fish dish with potatoes. The whole experience was great, and there was different types of breads offered. The order of mushrooms are so worth it, super delicious. Drinks were strong, Nice experience. Hefty price tag. Nice treat for a special occasion

Located inside the Ritz-Carlton we found this restaurant during a recent stay which I am glad we did. The atmosphere was both beautiful and inviting, the perfect balance between upscale and comfortable. The food really good, But the real highlight was the drinks. The cocktail menu was top-tier, featuring expertly crafted drinks that were both creative and elevated. The Dean margarita was my fave.

We visited Fearing's for restaurant week! Great choice! The food was delightful, the ambiance was relaxing! Overall a great experience! The service can use some improvement! Our waiter was a bit over extended, as he was waiting multiple tables in our area, like at minimum 6-7 and it was just a bit much for him to keep up with and we felt the lack of attention to service. Outside of that, the food was everything it needed to be; we did the 3 course meal and it was very tasty! The salmon was cooked to perfection( flakey, flavorful, and presented well)! A pretty nice start to Restaurant week!

A little early Valentines treat so we tried the set tasting sampling Food just kept on coming, we were definitely full by the time dessert came out. Our service was phenomenal from the hostess, server and food runner. Even the manager JD came to chat with us and the Senior Sou Chef came by to ask how everything was. It was a delightful experience!

A great restaurant in an equally great hotel. The service was impeccable with all staff members being friendly and helpful. The overall ambience of the restaurant was bright and open. We were seated in a booth close to the kitchen but we didn't notice the sound. We started with the Southwest Sampler. The crab cakes were fried perfectly, the short rib enchilada was a little too sauce heavy but still delicious, and the lobster tacos were delicious...but let's be honest, the tacos were one bite and not two bite. My gf had the Chilean Sea Bass and I ordered the Antelope over Mole Rojo with Rabbit Enchilada. Both the sea bass and the rice it sat on were cooked perfectly. Absolutely delicious dish that I'll order next time for myself. I'm usually disappointed with rice in Texas so this was a pleasant surprise. The antelope was amazing. Whenever I see it on a menu, I always order it and I encourage everyone to try it. The only miss on this dish was the rabbit enchilada. The meat was a little dry and there was a bit too much cheese for the size of the enchilada. Overall, this a great dining experience and I highly recommend it.

Had a wonderful dinner at Fearing for an engagement party. We had the private room and impeccable service. The servers were great with knowing to have drinks out immediately but then giving people leeway to talk. Drinks looked wonderful, but I had a Prosecco. The starters were great, someone tried and enjoyed the tortilla soup and my husband and I had the Caesar Salad. Dinner came out snd looked and tasted wonderful. I will be including multiple pictures of different dishes ordered. Had a great latte and desserts were amazing. All around a wonderful experience and a great place to host a dinner of around 20 - 30 people.

Food was excellent. Ambiance was dated. Service was very kind but very slow. For a top notch restaurant inside the Ritz-Carlton, even the uniforms or the waiters staff seemed drab.

Thanksgiving 2025. For the $155 price point I had high expectations, but food was average at best. I could barely find any scallops in my appetizer, which was mostly gnocchi, and the truffles barely had any taste. Their take on a traditional Thanksgiving meal was descent, but the stuffing and mashed potato was rather dry, as was the darker turkey meat on the bottom of the white meat. Service for our large party size was generally good, but weird how they brought out each round of dishes for one row at the table and not the other row until several minutes later.

We came here for a private group dinner one Saturday night. It was packed but not ridiculously loud like some restaurants. For dinner I had the beef carpaccio and the buffalo steak. The steak was literally the best steak I've ever had. It cut like butter and just melted in your mouth. I have never had a steak like that before, even at other really nice restaurants! Service was impeccable! It's definitely a great place for a nice dinner out or a special event.

    Sam H.

Amazing customer service! Scheduled lunch here on a Saturday and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. The basil mocktail was a great start then on the beef empanadas and tortilla soup. The recommendation was to try the burger and the short ribs- which was cooked to perfection! Another must try is the banana pudding with their beignets which has been a special item for the past 17 years, so flavorful! Special shout out to Jesus for making our visit special along with a birthday treat and cookies! We will definitely be back for dinner!

Anyone bring their kids here recently? I would like to make a reservation for my husbands birthday and our two children.

I go there with my wife and toddler all the time. Other than him being fussy sometimes when we go, they are very accommodating. I would ask about kids menus when you book for reservation, can't remember if they have one or not.

We invited a couple for dinner to celebrate their wedding we weren't able to attend. They are foodies, so we thought to try something different. The bread that looked amazing tasted like cardboard. The Hummus was terrible, and we are pretty snobby in the Mediterranean department. The Cesar Salad was good. Then the food came out. The seabass had to be sent back once, the second time our friend just dealt with it. I had the rack of lamb, which I get often. Awful flavor and strange celery mix underneath. The guys got Cowboy Ribeyes. My husband ate his because he hadn't eaten all day. He said, he couldn't make a better steak. Our friend had ONE BITE and didn't touch it after that. They bagged it up for him, and he left it behind. A $78 steak, not even touched. The mashed potatoes were great actually. Brussel Sprouts were the worst I've ever tasted. I think the poor server saw we weren't enjoying dinner and brought us out a complimentary chocolate tart, said to celebrate their married couple. It too was not good. Most everything was left half eaten or barely touched. I've never felt like I just threw $500 in the trash can, as I did last night. The food looked good (as shown in the pictures below, but don't be fooled) Complete disappointment. I say this as someone who worked for a restaurant group of high end restaurants for many years.

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

I called before deciding where to eat on a Sunday afternoon to confirm parking situations. Parking is not easy downtown so this played a huge factor in figuring where, out of the dozens of brunch places, to eat. Definitely a bit of a walk to get accommodated at the actual restaurant so valet seemed the most reasonably enticing for parking solutions. Well, I called and spoke with the lady at the front desk. I confirmed with this little girl FOUR TIMES IF 1. They had valet available today 2. If it was complimentary. Come to find out it was not complimentary. And $7 for parking just doesn't sit well with me when there are ample free options else where with satisfying beverage, meal, ambiance, and service. All of which, I DID NOT GET AT HAYWIRE. I come in and although I had a reservation that I was 10 minutes early for while noticing tables available, I was told by that same girl who lied to me about parking I needed to take a seat. Reassuring me that it would only take two minutes to be seated. 10 minutes later I see coupled and groups walking in and guess what? They were immediately sat. While I am waiting to be sat at one of the three clean tables I'm staring at. I finally tell my boyfriend I am about to eat at the bar and he goes to the hostess stand to inform them our frustration and guess what? We were sat immediately. I get seated and there are two standing fans placed next to my table that's blowing my hair all over the f*****g place. I had to tell them to turn them off. What? No AC in this place either?? We immediately ordered and got the elk tacos for an appetizer. The tacos are WAY too spicy and way too salty. Too spicy AND too salty?? They're a no for me. You literally can't taste anything because of both! I HATED these little tacos. Probably the worst I've ever had. Ever seen someone attempt to pinch a bit of salt to season and the entire top comes off?? These tacos. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak. He loved it (loves spicy and seasonings because he's Cajun) but I tried it and it was over seasoned. Again? Couldn't taste what I was eating. The mashed potatoes were divine. Enjoyed those! And then the green beans were tasteless. Hahaha what a joke. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles and it was literally too spicy to eat. Inedible. My eyes teared up, my nose started running, and I couldn't taste anything after a couple bites of the spice. I was so f*****g over this place I just ate my boyfriend's mashed potatoes and we left. If I had it my way, I wouldn't have paid for a thing here. They don't deserve our money and I HATE they got a cent from me. I'm livid. I hate this place W I L L N E V E R B E B A C K

We were told we had to place our entire order at once, and despite our reservation noting that we were celebrating a birthday, he never acknowledged it or even asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. When we mentioned it ourselves, he didn't respond at all. While returning from the restroom (which was also uncomfortably hot and stuffy), I spoke with the manager, Jason, about our experience and asked if we could switch servers. Thankfully, Vlad, who had been serving nearby tables, took over our table. He was a complete turnaround. Vlad was personable, energetic, attentive, and provided the level of hospitality we expected. He truly saved what he could of the experience. Our group spent over $750 on food and drinks. The appetizers and sides were excellent and easily the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the entrees didn't live up to the same standard. One steak was overcooked and had to be sent back. By the time the replacement arrived, everyone else had already finished eating. The Salmon Diane was also dry and overcooked. To end the night, while we were waiting for our checks to be processed, Jason came over and told us the next reservation had arrived and that we needed to leave. We explained that we were simply waiting to pay, yet no effort was made to speed up the process by collecting our payment or offering to run the checks. It felt rushed and incredibly inhospitable, especially after everything that had already gone wrong. The only reasons this review isn't one star are Vlad and the excellent appetizers and sides. We've dined at many high-end restaurants, and this was by far one of the most disappointing service experiences we've had, especially for a special celebration. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

We used to have night out with dinner but now we do lunch. We chose this restaurant based on the D magazine article about the best burgers in dallas. Goodwin's burger was rated one of the best and it lived up to their reputation. We had one burger medium rare and one burger medium well and we had one patty melt, along with salad and fries. All were cooked perfectly. Service was a 10 and the ambiance was a 10. Drinks were great and they had every bourbon we asked for. I would definitely return with my spouse to spoil her.

Upscale steakhouse atmosphere with tasty, veg-friendly options!…read more We had my friend's birthday dinner here and enjoyed the experience! The service was very attentive and friendly. They added candles to the birthday cake that we brought in, which was very nice of them! Apps: Cheese Beignets and Zucchini Chips - both were tasty! The beignets were small and not too heavy. I enjoyed the herby sauce on the chips, but wished it was served on the side! Mains: English Pea & Potato Pierogi, Mac and Cheese, and Vegetable Pasta - they were very nice to make a vegetarian pasta dish for us, and it was delicious! The tomato sauce was flavorful. The Mac and Cheese was also perfectly cheesy and I enjoyed the garlic breadcrumbs. My favorite was the Pierogi -- savory potato's, sweet brown butter sauce, and fresh greens to balance it all out! Highly recommend!
