Two Stars. Both from the Truffle Fries. This place really broke my heart. I love this area and the beautiful Crescent complex. Word of mouth and Yelp have sang praises so we finally made it happen. The lead up is insane. Park under the building, take an elevator up, walk through the beautiful alcove and there it is - Sixty Vines. Swanky, dark, and sultry - a bit much for my taste, but I get the idea. Our waiter was nice, but could not get wine to our table. Like - acted as if there was some Harry Potter issue going on, just could not get wine to our table. And I know that's a lot to ask, but also shouldn't be, considering it's a wine bar. The place was dead - 5 PM on a Monday and he even prefaced by saying as much, and suggesting we try a few, but every time we'd order a glass, or heaven-forbid a flight, he'd disappear for literally a half hour. I get that people get busy, but wine at a wine bar just feels easy. We had the zucchini and the truffle fries - they genuinely banged. Zucchini could've used a little more love and care, but the fries were crazy. I could've eaten them all night. Had a few great wines too, but again, crazy how long it took to get to my table - and I could see the taps! No one was busy. Real Bummer. I told him several times to bring some red before my main so I could enjoy something dark with the red sauce, and low-and-be-freaking-hold, I finished my BRAISED PORK with a Sauvignon Blanc. Did I do something to offend? Was I being punished? IDK. The Braised Pork Pappardelle and the shrimp-garlic pasta thing was fine. The shrimp one being really garlicky - probably a bit too much. For some fu**a** reason, they both came to our table on the colder side, again, why? We literally had plans to go through a few reds and bubbles, but after two hours of this, we said "let's leave". So we paid and bounced. It's a fine place, I guess, it just really flopped for us. James T. put it nicely, "So middle of the road, absolutely and unmistakably average." Just hurts after months of this place being talked up, getting a baby sitter, driving an hour, and dropping $150 for this place to miss the mark. This is our first experience with Sixty Vines and we appreciated the recommendations and service. My pork chop was DELICIOUS! Perfectly cooked! My nephew came by to help me with a project on my apartment Terrace. We were putting together a planter that self watering so of course we ended up starving by 2 o'clock. We ordered pick up from sixty vines because we weren't dressed to sit in. By the time we got back to the apartment the pizza had gotten cold, but it's a nice thin crust with delicious sauce and flavoring. It was really good. We also shared well. My Nephew let me have a few bites of the - Pork Papparedlle -it was absolutely amazing. Very home made taste and texture. Delish!!!!! Fig & prosciutto pizza and Creste di Gallo pasta were both delicious and satisfying. The pizza was thin and light and the crust was perfectly chewy with the right amount of crispiness. The pasta was rich but not overly so and packed a punch of flavor. The portion sizes were generous and pricing was right on point for the quality & quantity we got. The shopping area was so beautiful and dining the restaurant was easy. Upon entry it's just too gorgeous! Very cozy and warm for the winter. We were greeted immediately, and given water. It did take a really long time to place our order, I even had to all them if we could go ahead, but it's understandable when there are 32 at the table. Luckily there had a vegan pizza that I was able to get! It's the mushroom pizza. I wish it had been on regular bread (which not thinking of it maybe I could have asked), not on gluten free bread. She took time to help me pick a good wine by offering multiple samples, and checked on our table frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. I have actually come to this spot multiple times and the reason my friends and I keep coming back is not just a beautiful restaurant with delicious food, but also for the amazing service we get. We have spent multiple birthdays, girls night, etc and every time we come, we get the same consistent service. Also huge thank you to Jacob (one of the managers). We visited Sixty Vines twice this past weekend -- Friday at the Dallas location and Saturday at the Plano location (which I've been to before). I've also dined at the Dallas location previously, and I have to say, the ambience and overall customer service at both locations are consistently impressive. The Dallas location stood out this time because we were celebrating my mom's birthday, and the staff truly made it special. I ordered the bacon shrimp pizza. I'd rate it a 6/10 -- it wasn't my favorite. However, the watermelon margarita was excellent -- refreshing, flavorful, and definitely something I would order again.
