I asked for extra bread so I could taste more of the sauce after the vegetables were gone, ha! And by coincidence, the 3 vegetables tapas were what the waiter recommended. Food I tried Roasted cauliflower with green goddess - best sauce imo I couldn't get enough of how flavorful and buttery(?) it was. Really liked the texture contrast too, I'll get this again Asparagus with pistachio pesto - the in house made pesto fell off the asparagus easily and there was a bed of it underneath. I ended up putting them on the bread too, haha Chicken thigh with aji verde - this is a must get no matter what, incredibly fresh chicken I would have every day if I could. But alas, I don't live near here. Broccolini with lemon garlic - the orange sauce was also delicious but not as amazing as the others. I would still get this again though! Olive oil cake with sea salt - they flip the olive oil cake several times so the apricot syrup permeates. We ordered several menu favorites like the patatas bravas, jamón croquettes, Brussels sprouts, and pork belly, the chicken thigh was bomb-!!!! along with a mix of other small plates to share. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Paella wasn't a hit for me- too saffron forward and not very flavorful, needed more salt. The food was good across the board, and the wine selection is great for pairing with the tapas. We had an 8:00 pm reservation but didn't get seated until about 8:45. The staff was nice and apologetic, which we appreciated. While waiting, we were standing near the DJ booth, and the DJ was a little rude, which was a bit awkward. Cool concept and lively atmosphere with a packed parking lot, so we came in excited. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the hype. The restaurant appeared noticeably short staffed, our waitress was largely absent throughout the meal, the patatas bravas arrived cold, and the croquettes were forgotten entirely until we were basically ready to leave. Adding insult to injury, parking cost us $21 for just two hours for two people. Between the service issues, food execution, and parking expense, it simply wasn't worth it for us. read more

I've been to this place twice and I believe it's time for a much overdue review. The first time we came here, I focused more on their wine flights and I really enjoyed it so I didn't really get to focus much on the food. I did remember the olive cake being so good. I wasn't expecting it to taste so good. Fast-forward today, I am pregnant so I couldn't really enjoy their wines however, during this time, my focus was more on the food and this place did not disappoint at all. I started out with the ham and manchego croquettes, which was a chef's kiss. Then my husband tried the beef empanada, which he really enjoyed as well. Then we went ahead and split the potato tortilla, which was so tasty as well. We decided to finish it off with the paella salvaje and the burnt basque, cheesecake which has so far become another favorite on top of the olive oil cake. By the time we were done we were full, all of that just for $70 which honestly wasn't so bad for that much food. I think that also includes one mocktail. The service here is so attentive as well. I tried one of their tempranillos and enjoyed the recommendation. Overall, the tapas were fantastic. We got the heirloom tomatoes, empanadas, patatas bravas, bacon wrapped dates, and croquettes. I recommend every single one of these but my favorites were the patatas bravas and the empanadas. They also bring by a delicious bread that I enjoyed eating with the meal. I felt that this meal was well sized, extremely well made, and reasonably priced for what you got. I would definitely come back here and am excited to try more of their tapas. But the real star of the night was Bowser -- our server, our wine guide, our unofficial therapist. Manager by title, comedian by nature. If this man ever leaves the restaurant industry, Netflix better be ready. I got the patatas bravas and jamón & manchego croquetas which were basically little fried hugs from Spain. My partner had the chicken pimientos and immediately entered a deep emotional relationship with them. I don't even know where to start. We walked into Barcelona Wine Bar late in the evening and the vibe was perfect. Low lighting, laid-back energy, and stylish without trying too hard. It felt like stumbling into a hidden gem except everyone already knows how good it is. We were lucky enough to be taken care of by Bowser who also happened to be the manager. Absolute legend. He was funny, attentive without hovering, and clearly passionate about what he does. You don't always expect that level of care when you show up close to closing but he made us feel genuinely welcome. I ordered the chicken pimientos and I'm not being dramatic when I say it was next level. Possibly the best chicken dish I've had in years. Something about it just hit different. My partner tried a couple tapas and every plate was spot on. Now wine wise I'm normally all about Napa. But Bowser picked out a Spanish wine that completely surprised me. It was incredible. We booked a reservation for Saturday at 6:30 pm, and I'm glad we did because this place was packed. We waited about 15 minutes at the bar before being seated at our table. I had been craving Spanish food for a while, and after seeing all the glowing reviews, I thought it was worth a try. We ordered several popular Spanish dishes, and while I didn't expect them to be exactly like what you'd find in Spain, I did hope they'd be somewhat close. Overall, the dishes tasted lovely but authentic? Not really. When I ordered the pulpo gallego, I was expecting the traditional style: sliced potatoes layered at the bottom with pieces of octopus drizzled in olive oil and paprika. Instead, the octopus came out whole with just two potatoes on the plate. The chorizo, however, was excellent, and the patatas bravas were really good too. The salads, like the burrata and watermelon, were very small and nothing memorable. The bacon-wrapped dates came with a Valdeón mousse, which I personally think could be swapped for something else. I've had dates stuffed with chorizo at another Spanish spot, and those were truly chef's kiss! The olive oil cake, though, was absolutely delicious--I would order that again and again. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor seating area, perfect for cooler evenings when you just want to enjoy a glass of wine with a few bites. The staff was super friendly and attentive, which really added to the experience. Would this be my first choice whenever I'm craving authentic Spanish food? Probably not. But if you want to get a taste of some Spanish flavors, it's worth checking out. Having tried so many restaurants in Spain, it's hard not to compare but overall, this is a solid option in Dallas.
