My husband and I started off by splitting the Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket which were good but I wouldn't order again. It just didn't seem to be anything over the top special so I would rather order something else as an app. My husband ordered the fried chicken and I got the Crispy Chicken Katsu. Both were delicious and I would definitely recommend trying both! The Katsu came with a spicy mayo that made the sandwich perfect! Came here Saturday with my mom and sat on the rooftop. The Dallas skyline view alone is worth it, but what always stands out to me is the culture of this place. You can tell everyone genuinely enjoys working there. Servers were attentive nd incredibly cool, while the manager was walking around checking on tables and enjoying to customers -- just a really warm, welcoming energy throughout. The good news is this place is a solid 4 stars, and for me, 5 is very much within reach. Everything was good, just a few easy misses. We had planned to hike the Katy Trail and grab lunch somewhere along the trail, but it started raining on the drive, so we pivoted to my nearest bookmarked spot and ended up here. The space is really nice inside, kind of a Hillstone vibe inside. We already knew what we wanted since I had done a little research during the detour, also we were hungry, no time to deliberate!!. I do love that they split the dishes for you, so we each got our own plated portions. The fries were outstanding, I'm not sure the secret here, but I mean it... maybe the best part of the meal. Attentive, friendly, and the staff overall did not seem overwhelmed, which I appreciated given how packed it was. The vibe was definitely a highlight. I went to this place after having heard about it for a while. They have a great happy hour on their rooftop area but wasn't able to get a table good to get there early or make a reservation. The restaurant is large and inviting making for a nice mix of casual luxury. Love, love the crispy brussels sprouts and the texture it adds to the meal. I've ordered the Evil Jungle Princess most times but when I went a while ago, I did not enjoy it like I usually do. The lime flavor was extremely overpowering and I couldn't taste anything else in the drink. Caramelized Banana Bar is such a yummy dessert! Their patio is so nice with an amazing view of Dallas- I bet it's great to be there during patio weather! The food is pretty good too. I had the prime rib Sandwhich and it was tasty. It's basically a French dip but oh so delicious! My only hesitation with this place is that it's very expensive. Drinks are like $16-18 each, my meal was like $26. This might be one of the worst things you can do in restaurant service. It made our entrees & appetizers cold, and even our DESSERTS were brought out during this time, so they were melting as well. To me, this just about fully cancels out the quality of the food. The shaved prime rib dip had great flavor & was tender. The pigs in a blanket were delightful. The soft pretzels were good, but literally the EXACT same ones that were served to me at the Henry a while back - these must be some frozen pre-made ones or something. LIVE BUG IN THE SALAD the only thing they offered is to take it off our tab. On top of that, it took 35 minutes to get just a singular beer and over an hour to get our food. Would not recommend to anyone. Especially in this area there are great restaurants with in blocks of here that the service is better and you won't get bugs in your food. read more

Went for their happy hour on a Friday evening and was able to get a spot on the rooftop without a reservation. Their happy hour is Monday to Friday, 3 to 7 pm. Of note- we were not offered the menu and had to ask for it! Docking one star because the service was a little slow (took 30 minutes to get our food) and our order was rung up incorrectly (didn't apply the HH deal for our drinks), but the waitress was kind and apologetic about it. As for the food - my favorite was surprisingly the frosty fries! Crispy and not too salty with a side of vanilla soft serve. Such a fun and nostalgic ode to the classic McDonalds pairing! I also enjoyed the spicy tuna crispy rice, but the california roll was comparable to grocery store quality. I can't believe it's normally priced at $17 for just 8 small pieces! Would give 3.5 if I could- not for the food but for the overall experience. Came here two weeks ago for the DFW Restaurant Week Prix Fixe menu. It was a great value for the price and the food was delicious! The vibes both inside and on the rooftop are great. Unfortunately my biggest complaint was the service. Our waiter let us know that since we were ordering from the restaurant week menu that we could place our entire order right away. What he didn't tell us was that literally everything (2 margs, 2 apps, 2 entrees, 2 desserts) would all come out at once.... Our small table was quickly way too full and could barely fit everything. The other waiter who brought out all of our food just apologized for the small table and consolidated the plates but I genuinely could not believe they were okay with bringing everything out at once?? Our apps and entrees were tasty, but our cheese fondue quickly got cold and thick, the prime rib au jus got cold, meanwhile our vanilla ice cream was melting, our chocolate ganache was too thick to pour, and the monkey bread was cold and hard by the time we got to it. If you've never been to Culinary Dropout, it's an up scale (maybe mid scale?) scratch kitchen that offers a great twist to tons of Southern classic cuisine.
