This is a shady business. State Street Coffee has been a staple of the neighborhood and was pulled up seemingly overnight with very little notice to the previous business that occupied this spot. Only to have the Alcove kick them out to open their own shop. This is NOT the same coffee shop the bar seems to be claiming it is. This is NOT a renovation. This is NOT a reopening. This is what stealing business looks like. Letting another business build clientele and rapport over nearly 10 and trying to steal it out from under them is a spinless move This is a business with a complete lack of integrity. The Alcove should be honest about what they are doing. That's you J. Take your business elsewhere in the neighborhood.

Delicious coffee. Period. Great staff and wonderful ambiance. During a rainy Saturday morning, I stopped by this cute place to get a coffee and I was not expecting such a nice treat. Next time you are at State Thomas, take some time to enjoy a cup of your favorite pick me up drink.

Pizza is sub par and wine is often old. I'd suggest to check out Parterre if you're wanting better options.

Great local spot in State Thomas. Laid back vibe, a rotating set of taps with lots of local flavor. Always a must stop after work.

This place is great (made better because he doesn't come here anymore).

The bartender, Ryan, then went to work turning the pool table into a large dining table. He then amazed us by not only taking great care of all of the patrons at the bar but our large crowd as well. We ordered many drinks, appetizers and each had an entree as well. Ryan was flawless the entire time we are there. We walked in and immediately had low expectations. Ryan turned that around quickly and convincingly. Not only was his service excellent but the food was excellent as well. It reminded me of a trip I took to Ireland about 9 years ago. The quesadillas was delicious. The tacos were crates and the wings had all different flavor flavors to them. The dry wings were my favorite. They were so crispy and seasoned perfectly. The wet wings were a lot of sauce and of course I'm trying to look dainty like a lady and I've got sauce all over my face, lol but it was all good. It was a great great time and the service was fabulous.

Food is amazing, best veggie burger in town, the lentil soup is perfect! Recently tried the chicken sliders (too damn delicious) to try something new - at my daughter's request - that is how long I have been coming back, long enough to become a mom, raise her up and take her to the best dining spots :) I highly recommend the black widow, it is my go to daytime sip if we stop in for lunch, daughter recommends the Shirley Temple, says "they do it right." During the day and early evening this is easily a family friendly spot, we often see babies. But never may kids to make you regret stopping in, it is relaxing and fun. I don't think Harwood Arms was prepared for how many people were going to show up- it seemed completely disorganized, chaotic, and just ridiculous. We were sitting down at one of the tables outside in the alley area and the walkway was clear- at first. After the game had actually started, I guess they just let everyone in and the entire walkway was PACKED with people to the point that our once clear view of the TV, was gone in an instant. As the night progressed, obviously a girl has to pee, so as I was walking into the actual restaurant/ pub to use the bathroom and I guess the "bouncer" stuck his arm between me and the door and dismissively said I couldn't go in. Excuse me? After telling him I literally have a table outside, he yanks at his collar and speaks into his little walkie talkie asking if there's a table of 4 outside under my name. Sorry, I didn't know I was watching the Mexico game at the freakin White House surrounded by Secret Agents. Give me a break. So when he magically confirms I have a table (because I do), he lifts up his arm and gives me the ALL CLEAR! It's actually funny looking back at it. But give me a break. When going back outside to sit at my table, the same bouncer/ Secret Agent/ FBI dude gives attitude to my boyfriend and myself for the commotion caused earlier. The actual police officer next to him told us it's ok and to just have a good time. The only nice thing someone said to us and he doesn't even work at Harwood Arms lol. To management, if you do not want people "off the street" to go in and out of your pub or inside to use your bathrooms, then I don't know- maybe come up with a wristband method so your paying customers can smoothly go in and out to use your bathrooms? Just a thought. OR just don't be unwelcoming to people that are actively spending money at your pub. Harwood Arms was NOT prepared at all for the high velocity of people coming in to watch the FIFA games. Quite frankly, it was a MESS. I did visit Bar W a few days after that and had a MUCH BETTER experience-- go there instead.
