My friend is moving away from Dallas and I wanted a special place to say goodbye. I love the lounge area at Capital Grille. It feels warm and t's cute and classy. We can still be fancy, but comfortable and not be as dressy in this area of the restaurant. I decided to visit for happy hour. My favorite hour and also try the special Wagyu and Wine Special. It's a limited time offer and priced fairly. John the bartender who was also my server was AMAZING. He made great cocktails and provided excellent and exceptional service. He was attentive, polite and friendly. The experience was great because of him. Service was so satisfying. The ambiance is always perfect for a sassy happy hour. It's clean and cozy in the bar and lounge. This visit the food was good, not great. It's also been a while since I have been to this location. Plano is closer to me, but sometimes you have to mix it up. So I drove to the Dallas location. The Parmesan Truffle Fries were fantastic. A generous portion, hot and fresh. The lambs chops were good for a medium well cook. Still juicy and with little pink. The lamb chops were a good size. Nobody wants tiny lamb chops. The burger was dry and lacking in flavor. It needed more onions and steak sauce. The presentation was good though. The wine was lovely and the Peach Bourbon Smash Cocktail is the perfect concoction. It's my favorite drink on the menu. Overall a good visit, and I appreciate they offer validated parking for the garage. I left feeling satisfied, but the burger is a NO. The congratulations dessert was the perfect ending. read more

I went to The Capital Grille in Dallas to celebrate my friend's birthday, and the entire experience was absolutely amazing. I called ahead to let them know we were coming for a birthday celebration, and from the moment we walked in, they made it feel special. The hostess greeted us warmly, asked who the birthday guest was, and made a point to acknowledge the occasion right away. No waiting we were taken straight to our table, which was beautifully decorated with birthday confetti and a handwritten card just for him. It wasn't even my birthday and I was genuinely excited!!!!! Our server Felipe went above and beyond. His service was impeccable, attentive, kind, and professional. And the food? Absolutely top-tier. The birthday boy ordered the chicken breast dish, and I went with a dry-aged New York Strip, cooked medium and it was perfect. We shared two sides: the corn and mashed potatoes, both great! Just when I was thinking about ordering dessert, they surprised us with two complimentary desserts for the birthday celebration, along with a round of champagne for the table. Our first time dining here was while in town house hunting and our server Oscar was phenomenal! From start to finish he delivered excellent service. He started us off with celebratory glasses of champagne, which we really were not expecting. We were seated past the bar in a nice secluded booth away from the main dining area.For starters we ordered oysters, a glass of Riesling and a Capital Cosmopolitan. The oysters tasted fresh and delicious. My husband and I both ordered the filet Pittsburgh style which was very tender. For sides the creamed corned and bacon and creamed spinach. My husband devoured the creamed corn with bacon. We ordered so food a few boxes were needed to go. Throughout the entire meal Oscar made it truly a nice wonderful experience. My husband was blown away by his level of service. This isn't the first Capital Grille we've been to but the quality of service has made it stand out from the rest. When you arrive, valet parking is available for $10 if you prefer not to use the parking garage. My visit to The Capital Grille in uptown was exceptional--the best service I've had in a long time. My friend Josie and I arrived on a Friday around 2 PM. The restaurant wasn't crowded, and we were seated immediately. I enjoyed the pineapple martinis and the boneless ribeye with mashed potatoes, both of which were outstanding. The steak was perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful. I finished half my meal and took the rest home for dinner. I also ordered the coconut pie to go and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. The staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure excellent service. Although there was a slight delay with the desserts as they were making fresh whipped cream, they provided them at no cost to us. My date took me Capital Grille for Valentine's Day yesterday and I couldn't have felt more special. We were seated in a booth towards the back corner of the restaurant. It was perfect for us because it felt a little detached from the main dining area, affording us a more intimate feel. I also loved the dimly lit room and moody decor, and can't forget the table scapes which had a beautiful rose placed on each table for that added romantic touch. Tattiana was our server. She was knowledgeable about the menu & great w/banter. For drinks we had the mojito & cosmopolitan cocktails. Please know they don't skimp on their alcohol at the Grille. The way the drinks snuck up on us....chiiiiiile lol. It's a good thing you're greeted with bread and butter once you're seated, because you'll need it if you're drinking. For dinner my partner ordered the salmon dish & I got the bone in NY strip. One thing I can say I don't like about steakhouses is that everything comes a la carte, so we had to order sides. He got mashed potatoes & I opted for the creamed spinach. As internally annoyed as I was at first about the setup of the menu, all was forgotten once we bit into our food. Simply put everything was made according to our specifications & there was flavor in every bite. Zero complaints. Before we left we were also given dark chocolate truffle candies (complements of the chef) and I was gifted another rose, so overall it was a great night. read more

The most amazing birthday celebration was had at Capital Grille in Dallas. We were seated at a table full of birthday confetti and a birthday card. Our waitress was extremely professional, friendly, and accommodating. The restaurant was beautiful, lighting was elegant. Appetizers for the table: oysters, shrimp cocktail, calamari, and lobster & crab cakes (which they made in bite sized compared to one cake since we were splitting) were all delicious and we would order all AGAIN! The steaks were absolutely stunning, from the porcini rubbed ribeye with balsamic, to sliced filet with mushrooms, onions, and fig essence, each bite was mouthwatering! The salmon was also delightful. The same is said for all of the side dishes ordered to share at the table: lobster Mac n cheese, brussel sprouts, au gratin potatoes, and asparagus. The dessert topped it off with a beautiful birthday plate with a mini cheesecake and the flourless espresso cake! Yum! My wife and one of our sons dined on a Friday night. We had an early booking so that likely improved our service. We had notated it was to celebrate our anniversary. We had a tag along, as one of our sons joined us as we were all in Dallas for the big Oklahoma-Texas football game. Our server was Anthony F., and he was terrific. The table was decorated modestly for our anniversary with a red rose and a handwritten note. He quickly offered us a complimentary champagne as well. Ice cold vodka martinis helped move things along. Starters included the steak tartare and beet salad. And of course I love their bread basket, with the lahvosh being my favorite. Our son had the French onion soup. The steak tartare was good as usual, but the beet salad was just okay. My wife has the filet au poivre, our son had a ribeye au poivre, and I had a shrimp cocktail and tuna tartare. Their steaks had a nice peppery crust with the classic cognac cream sauce - the sauce was on the side which was a nice touch. Both thoroughly enjoyed their steaks. We all shared some Parmesan truffle fries which are always delicious. My shrimp cocktail was on point as usual, and the tuna tartare was as expected - which is a solid dish. We were in a hurry so we had cheesecake to go, and it was excellent later at the hotel. Overall - service was outstanding, steaks are the star of the show, and Capital Grille proved as consistent as the many others I have visited around the country. read more

My husband and I have dined at various Capital Grille restaurants around DFW and love our experience every time. For this specific occasion, we came to celebrate my birthday. Upon arrival, the table to decorate with some birthday confetti. We got the lobster bisque as an appetizer along with the bread that is provided. For our entrees, my husband got a steak, Oscar style, and I got the Porcini-rubbed Bone-in Ribeye (my absolute fave and go-to meal!). We also got a side of Brussel sprouts. My sister and I had an absolute fabulous experience here last night! Upon walking in, we were greeted by the manager, Rock, who was incredibly kind and gracious and showed us to our table where we had the pleasure of meeting our server Guillermo. He told us he had one of the best servers for us, and he wasn't wrong. My sister and I ended up getting calamari, Caesar salad, porcini rubbed ribeye, mashed potatoes, and everything was absolutely perfect. Guillermo constantly checked up on us to make sure we were OK and everything came out to our liking. Customer service was absolutely phenomenal, while the ambience was quiet and cozy. We will definitely be back whenever we visit Dallas again and kudos to the amazing team who made the night extremely special and very memorable for us. The Capital Grille is great. During a recent work trip, I was invited to attend a private dinner here. I had no idea what to expect but I assure you I did not expect it to be this great. The private room at the rear of the restaurant was used and I would highly recommend it for your private party. We were secluded from the rest of the restaurant and able to have our event with no interruptions. What really set this place apart was the food. I have been to plenty of private events and none had the level of service or the level of food that Capital Grill put out. We had prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella and calamari to start. Both were the best I have ever had. Next up was a wedge salad which again, was amazing. Rounding things out was the fillet that was cooked perfectly and among the best, I have ever had. I was actually mad at myself for ordering it when I realized there was a NY strip on the menu. But when it arrived, and I took a bite, those concerns evaporated. In addition to the great food and service, there were great drinks as well. Extra points for having The Prisoner wine available. It's my favorite. The one unfortunate thing about this whole dinner was the wait for an Uber afterward. This has nothing to do with CG but it brings me to my last bit of advice. Check your Uber or Lyft app before you leave the restaurant. That way if it will take 40 minutes as it did for me, you have more time to enjoy the restaurant and the wine. Wow! Our anniversary dinner was perfection from the food , service (Tattiana) and of course ambiance. Our table was prepared for an intimate anniversary celebration with a rose and a nice note . We had to start with a Stoley Doley which are signature to Capital Grill. We didn't order appetizers because we knew we wouldn't finish our meal and we still had leftovers. When I say I haven't had this kind of service at a restaurant, I mean it. I'm including all of those fancy Michelin star restaurants I've been to. It was my birthday and honestly this was a bit of a last minute choice. I've been here before, loooong time ago and the only thing I remembered about it was that the food was good, except the mac and cheese. So I was happy to re-visit when I was brought here. First, our waiter, Julio was outstanding. Never have I had someone more attentive yet balanced with understanding that you don't want to be shadowed every 2 seconds. The table was decorated with birthday confetti and had a card on the table. When we asked about the "Generous Pour" option, Julio said it was 7 wine tastings but if we liked any we would get a little extra. And for $35 a person, this is a steal. Not to rat on this dude but he legit hooked us up! He also brought a free calamari app after our crostini amuse-bouche. Lily loves free bites of food. I ordered the porcini-rubbed bone-in ribeye and my lovely partner ordered the veal tomahawk. I guess it makes sense to have other kinds of tomahawk but I've never seen veal tomahawked and so we were excited to try it. And yes it was good. But honestly the ribeye was just perfect! Seriously, not a single complaint. We also shared the mashed potatoes, creamed corn and the sauteed spinach and I could go into detail about each one but just trust me when I say the mashed an the corn were also perfect. And honestly after all the bread, the calamari and the wine, I was only able to eat a small portion of the delicious steak before I had to get it to go. And of course they brought out a dessert as well. The espresso chocolate cake and the cheesecake and I was just so happy at this point. And of course to top it allll off, our kind waiter brought out the most beautiful long-stemmed rose for me before we left. This young man definitely did an outstanding job. So please request him and treat him right when you Yelpers go visit. My take on the lobster mac: I remember it being good, but honestly I think for me, and maybe for a lot of Americans, I tend to want my mac and cheese to be unbelievably cheesy and gooey. I want it to have that cheese pull and make me regret eating that much cheese. And so I think when you have something as delicate as lobster, you don't really want anything too sharp or strong to mask that taste (otherwise there's no point) and so I remember being thinking to myself that it was simply "fancified" creamy pasta dish instead of what I was wanting. But again, this is me reviewing a dish from several years ago. Still 10 stars all the way. read more

So here's the deal. Yess Capital Grille is worth it. I was skeptical when my husband came back from Seattle after eating at their location and told me he wanted to take me out here in Texas. I freaked out when he told me how much it costed and even when I read the raving reviews. After going out for a family night, I take it all back. The food is exquisite and top quality. Our table host was above and beyond, he met every request with a smile. We had a reservation for 5pm right as they opened and we were given immediate seating, so I don't agree with the review that says they don't honor reservations because they do. We decided to park in the self park garage which was $10 for anyone wondering. I think on the weekend it's a set price? Otherwise it varies by the hour. You can take the elevator up/down to the appropriate level which is conveniently marked. There is also valet parking available if that's more your style. We were started off with a basket of different types of breads, reminded me of Germany so I was impressed. I haven't had bread that fresh since my overseas travels. It was served with a pat of butter lightly salted and with our drinks, of course. I ordered the Salmon which was cooked to perfection and the seasoning was delicious. The green beans were salted just the way I like mine. Hubby ordered the tomahawk chops and completely obliterated them, that's saying a lot. We both ordered mashed potatoes but we could have gotten away with just one order; however, we took the extra home to enjoy later. And let me tell you, we enjoyed those potatoes. Every bite. We ended our scrumptious dinner with brûlée and I was hesitant for hubby to order because I'm not a caramelized brûlée kind of girl. This one was tasty though, it was served with an array of strawberry, blueberry and raspberry on top. You guys, the manager came over to our table after our meal and thanked us! What?
