Just to be aware, it is self serve. You order at the counter and then have to find an open table. That part was a little bit chaotic, especially since they required a few people on a Sunday morning. I wish there was a hostess to help guide the chaos. From an aesthetic, it's fine. A little bit more industrial than I had wanted, open kitchen, and grocery store type industrial fridges. Food so good we went twice in a weekend! First was to try their lunch! BLT was perfection and the pesto pasta was a nice, fresh side. Bread was perfectly toasted and bacon was yummy. The next morning, we tried the breakfast. Highly recommend the pancake and biscuits and gravy. Their sausage was a little spicy, so going to try something with bacon next time. We tried their food for the first time after stopping by cultivar for some coffee! I tried the breakfast sandwich with egg white, avocado and tomato and it was delicious! Everyone loved their food which was a nice portion and service was fast despite a packed house. The ambiance is nice even tho it was busy there was plenty of seating for 4 of us including a toddler and they bring the coffee out to you. Definitely recommend this place! read more

YUM! Always a delicious experience at Goodfriend. I ordered the club sandwich and added bacon. Suchhhhh a great combo of ingredients. They use a sauce called "bacon mayo" and I think that's what sets it apart from others. First of all, it's HEFTY. The first half made me full. Second, it stayed fresh! Really amazing coffee, but I think that credit officially goes to the spot nextdoor Cultivar. They share the same space. I got the local oat which is a shaken oat milk espresso. I will warn y'all, it was packed on a rainy Saturday morning. There was really nowhere to sit so we got our coffee and breakfast to go. Maybe if the weather was better there would have been room with the outdoor seating but it was pouring rain. We also got breakfast. I had the ol dirty, my husband had the one with avocado and our friend got the mcbagel. Hella good food. We ordered two sandwiches, The Queens Blvd - they did not prepare correctly it literally just had turkey on dry rye bread (which we had to pay $12 for) and the Reuben was filled with fatty pieces of pastrami. Everyone needs a "good friend" well, I got you! In a VERY unassuming east Dallas strip shopping center at the corner of Peavy and Garland Road. This outpost for good eats, craft beer and Cultivar coffee ... has all the vibe one hopes from a neighborhood joint. Judging by the crowd, these folks are doing good business! The atmosphere is laid back and comfortable, completely unpretentious. The chow? We (offspring and moi self) tucked into breakfast offerings. She got the Standard, 2 eggs to order, meat (bacon, sausage or chorizo) taters and a choice of toast or biscuits (beer biscuits more specifically) In her own description she declared her food "An OG MF" ... high praise considering the source. I did the biscuit sandwich (sausage, egg & cheese). This ain't no itybity fast food puck of sadness ... no, this is a substantial breakfast. The biscuit however, is the big player. Beer biscuits done well are near a magical thing. They got theirs on lock! All in all, a great experience and a good time. We'll be back, sho nuff! read more

Paired with a cup of coffee and it made for great combo. I like my potatoes a bit more seasoned but they worked well with a side of hot sauce. The space is low key-- order at the counter and seat yourself situation. There were a lot of families so I'd say is definitely family friendly. They offer a generous selection of sandwiches, breakfast plates, coffees, teas, snacks, treats and drinks! I ordered the corned beef and potatoe hash, topped with the most perfectly fried egg. I honestly wish I ordered two eggs because the yolkiness added that extra bit of perfection! As a Chicagoan I grew up eating good corned beef,but moving to Dallas, that's basically foreign fair. However, after eating (only half) of today's breakfast, Goodfriend has hit that spot! Their corned beef is just the right amount of tenderness and fatty goodness , while still maintaining the meatiness of a good piece of beef. It's perfectly shredded and laid upon the chunkiest most seasoned bed of potatoes a hungry girl could ask for! I love it here!!! This little hole in the wall breakfast place is SOOO GOOD. Their breakfast biscuits are UNMATCHED especially for the Casa Linda area. My husband and I love the East Point biscuit which is a super hearty breakfast sandwich. Every time I come here the food is fresh and delicious! There's also Cultivar coffee shop attached which makes it the perfect all in one stop for to go breakfast or brunch. That. Biscuit. Omgsh that thing kept me full for 4 hours no joke. The beer battered, greasy goodness is perfection. You will likely smell the barley/beer but it works wonderfully well with turkey sausage, egg and Sriracha cheddar. The flavor combo was amazing with a peppery, herbiness from the turkey, buttery texture of the biscuit that SOMEHOW magically held together despite being so soft. I doubt I would even bother trying anything else, not that the other things probably aren't equally amazing, but that turkey biscuit was unreal.
