House-made Beer Biscuit & Gravy
Chelsea O.

Food so good we went twice in a weekend! First was to try their lunch! BLT was perfection and the pesto pasta was a nice, fresh side. Bread was perfectly toasted and bacon was yummy. The next morning, we tried the breakfast. Highly recommend the pancake and biscuits and gravy. Their sausage was a little spicy, so going to try something with bacon next time. My husband did pickup both times but he said "vibes were good" in there and service was quick.

YUM! Always a delicious experience at Goodfriend. I ordered the club sandwich and added bacon. Suchhhhh a great combo of ingredients. They use a sauce called "bacon mayo" and I think that's what sets it apart from others. First of all, it's HEFTY. The first half made me full. Second, it stayed fresh! My husband ordered this for me to go, brought it home, and 45 minutes later I was devouring it. Still tasted like I was eating for dine - in. Good stuff, Goodfriend!

I love this spot! My favorite breakfast biscuit in Dallas. This place is good vibes all around.

Warbird sandwich (the BEST!!)

Cultivar/ good friend is the my #1 spot to go for a coffee and an amazing breakfast sandwich. I always go for the warbird (biscuit, turkey sausage, tomato, and cheese) The staff is always amazing, and it's very reasonable prices. Whenever my family is in town this is where they ask to go to.

Everyone needs a "good friend" well, I got you! In a VERY unassuming east Dallas strip shopping center at the corner of Peavy and Garland Road. This outpost for good eats, craft beer and Cultivar coffee ... has all the vibe one hopes from a neighborhood joint. Judging by the crowd, these folks are doing good business! The atmosphere is laid back and comfortable, completely unpretentious. The chow? We (offspring and moi self) tucked into breakfast offerings. She got the Standard, 2 eggs to order, meat (bacon, sausage or chorizo) taters and a choice of toast or biscuits (beer biscuits more specifically) In her own description she declared her food "An OG MF" ... high praise considering the source. I did the biscuit sandwich (sausage, egg & cheese). This ain't no itybity fast food puck of sadness ... no, this is a substantial breakfast. The biscuit however, is the big player. Beer biscuits done well are near a magical thing. They got theirs on lock! All in all, a great experience and a good time. We'll be back, sho nuff!

Veginator

Came here late Sunday morning to grab some breakfast and was delighted with the options. I got the veginator-- scrabbled eggs over wedge potatoes and a dollop of guacamole. The dish was delicious! Paired with a cup of coffee and it made for great combo. I like my potatoes a bit more seasoned but they worked well with a side of hot sauce. The space is low key-- order at the counter and seat yourself situation. There were a lot of families so I'd say is definitely family friendly. I'd come back to try the bacon and pancakes next time!

Eggs, bacon, potatoes, beer biscuit (gravy $1 more but so worth it!)

I've only had breakfast and coffee here and it's always so good. I tried their matcha latte and loved it. They have different biscuits but will sell out quick. Great breakfast /lunch spot with outdoor seating as well. Good selection of craft beers. Handful of people with their laptops.

Turkey Sandwich

I've been coming to this place for a little over a year now. The quality of the food is always excellent and I never leave disappointed. The biscuits are so good, the veggie sandwich is amazing but today I tried the turkey sandwich, the pesto mayo with the spicy cheese makes an excellent combination. Also wanted to mention that my boyfriend is in LOVE with Tyler's tomato soup! (Thank you Tyler)

Seemed like a nice spot to try. Is their inside restaurant only open during certain days or times? Paid $9 for an iced caramel latte with almond milk....im a fan for supporting local businesses but even I could get a cheaper coffee at Starb*cks. I really liked their patio space, it was clean and had plenty of space. Their workers are nice, they made my drink incorrectly but quickly made a new one. It was empty and chill, but maybe the guy was distracted.

This is a east dallas gem. It's one of the best sandwich spots in Dallas. If you're a fan of GoodFriend across the street, you will be a fan of their Goodfriend package. There are plenty of tasty vegetarian options as well. There is usually a line but it's worth the wait. Everything is made fresh and to order. They have included a full service coffee bar. Side note: Take advantage of the patio when the weather permits. Staff: a bunch of friendly faces treating you right on a regular basis. Parking: Parking is plentiful. There is also a EV charging station for those who like to make the most of their time.

Latin Deli - Chicken Salad Sandwich with Mango Lemonade and Strawberry Lemonade

As soon as we entered the parking lot, he went from regular Eddie to hulk smash if I don't get a sandwich soon. And that is how we found Latin Deli. It's small, quaint, and a cute patio on the outside. You walk in to a little almost what a desert kiosk would be like at the mall with a fountain soda station, and some cucumber lime, horchata, and Jamaica constantly tumbling I. Their tanks. The menu is extensive, from Latin crepes, to sandwiches and salads, to even breakfast items. I opted for some chilaquiles, it was tomatillo heavy and super acidic which made it delightful. The beef was well done and paired nicely to the sauce. I would probably sauce on the side next time but man it was scrumptious. Eddie ordered a salad but somehow got a sandwich, which he enjoyed so much more than he would've a salad. Should we have checked? Probably but he was hungry and he wasn't complaining. Service was quick and delightful. If there's any issues, is that this place is on the pricier side. It was $30 for both our meals plus drinks which came out to almost 40ish dollars without tip, so it turned to $50. Would we come again? Probably on pay day.

We tried the place recently for brunch and had a good experience. My wife tried the chicken salad…read moresandwich. I had the Cubano sandwich and my daughter had a side of scrambled eggs and bacon. Everything had great flavor. The fries were unique. We sat outside on the patio because it was a nice day, but were approached by an unhoused person wandering the parking lot. You Make your way to the counter where the gentleman takes your order and gives you a number. We went with the Prosciutto and Hot Italian Sausage. The Prosciutto sandwich was super tasty with fresh ingredients and top tier bread. The Hot Italian Sausage was over to top and delicious. Great sausage and amazing bread with just the right amount of spice overall. The sauce they use could be a meal by itself. Super great sandwich! The whole experience was fun and we would definitely come back. Highly Reccommended!

It truly feels like you've stepped into a legit Italian market. It's packed--in a good way--but be prepared to rub elbows while you shop. If you don't have social anxiety, it's all part of the experience. We met another couple there for sandwiches, and they absolutely delivered. I had the Italian beef, which was delicious--but definitely spicy. I even asked for light peppers and it still brought some heat. So fair warning: if you're sensitive to spice, you might want to pivot to something else. My wife has been missing New Orleans, so she went with the muffaletta. Let's just say it was a much cheaper solution than flying her to the Big Easy. No gumbo on the menu, but the sandwich hit the spot. After we ate, we did a little shopping and grabbed some fresh Italian ingredients imported straight from Italy--which is always a win in my book. Great food, great vibe, and a true Dallas institution. We'll definitely be back.

Well, talk about a hidden gem. I had this place bookmarked but could not tell you where I heard…read moreabout it. It is basically a little luncheon oasis dropped right in the middle of a gigantic industrial park. On the drive over I was seriously questioning my Yelp choices. It is that kind of location. But trust Yelp and sometimes you are handily rewarded, which we absolutely were. We came after a few hours strolling around at the Botanical Gardens, so we rolled in around 1:30 and there were still plenty of people there. I can only imagine at noon this place is packed, and honestly it should be. My biggest complaint is the menus. There is one above the counter that does not include everything, and then a different, more complete version if you scan the QR code at the table (But 2 different navigations even on the website with slightly different menus). Do yourself a favor and look it up ahead of time so you are not standing there making panic decisions. There is a half sandwich and half soup combo (Not on the board but online menu), which is definitely the move. I got the pozole, which you should absolutely order, and a half grilled cheese on their housemate sourdough. Normally not my go to, but I was trying not to be completely stuffed since we had dinner plans. And they bake their own sourdough, so I had a strong feeling it would be great, and it delivered. Toasty and melty, American and cheddar. My husband got the southwestern wrap, and my friend went with the half club and half tomato soup. She immediately regretted not getting the pozole and the half birria sandwich, which tells you everything you need to know. Also need to mention the snickerdoodle. Not much to look at, kind of humble, but it completely makes up for it with flavor and that perfect soft texture. Go ahead and get the cookie. You are not here to make responsible decisions. Bottom line, it may feel like you are driving into the middle of nowhere, but keep going. This place is worth it.

This is exactly the kind of hole in the wall lunch spot you'll miss if you're not paying attention…read more I literally drove past it twice before realizing it was right there. It's also one of those "if you know, you know" places, and clearly people know, because the to-go orders were nonstop. The second you walk in, you're hit with cases of fresh baked bread, and pastries. The almond pistachio croissant was the biggest one I've ever seen and had me drooling before I even placed my order. It is counter service, and I went with a Mediterranean sandwich with chicken while my lunch date got a classic BLT. Both were incredible, super fresh ingredients, excellent flavor, and next level fresh bread/ flatbread. Try the sourdough ! You can tell this place is legit because you see everyone in there from construction workers, people, in scrubs, law-enforcement, executives, all grabbing lunch. When that many hard-working people trust a spot, you know it's got to be good. If you're in Garland, add this place to your must try list. It is an excellent lunch spot.
