We tried their food for the first time after stopping by cultivar for some coffee! I tried the breakfast sandwich with egg white, avocado and tomato and it was delicious! Everyone loved their food which was a nice portion and service was fast despite a packed house. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is nice even tho it was busy there was plenty of seating for 4 of us including a toddler[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and they bring the coffee out to you. Definitely recommend this place!

Dang this place is good! The turkey sandwich I ordered was one of the best I have ever had. I can't wait to try everything. Great place to eat or get something to go.

Food so good we went twice in a weekend! First was to try their lunch! BLT was perfection and the pesto pasta was a nice, fresh side. Bread was perfectly toasted and bacon was yummy. The next morning, we tried the breakfast. Highly recommend the pancake and biscuits and gravy. Their sausage was a little spicy, so going to try something with bacon next time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My husband did pickup both times but he said "vibes were good" in there and service was quick.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

YUM! Always a delicious experience at Goodfriend. I ordered the club sandwich and added bacon. Suchhhhh a great combo of ingredients. They use a sauce called "bacon mayo" and I think that's what sets it apart from others. First of all, it's HEFTY. The first half made me full. Second, it stayed fresh! My husband ordered this for me to go, brought it home, and 45 minutes later I was devouring it. Still tasted like I was eating for dine - in. Good stuff, Goodfriend!

I love this spot! My favorite breakfast biscuit in Dallas. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is good vibes all around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Warbird sandwich (the BEST!!)

Cultivar/ good friend is the my #1 spot to go for a coffee and an amazing breakfast sandwich. I always go for the warbird (biscuit, turkey sausage, tomato, and cheese) The staff is always amazing, and it's very reasonable prices. Whenever my family is in town this is where they ask to go to.

Everyone needs a "good friend" well, I got you! In a VERY unassuming east Dallas strip shopping center at the corner of Peavy and Garland Road. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This outpost for good eats, craft beer and Cultivar coffee ... has all the vibe one hopes from a neighborhood joint.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Judging by the crowd, these folks are doing good business![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is laid back and comfortable, completely unpretentious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The chow? We (offspring and moi self) tucked into breakfast offerings. She got the Standard, 2 eggs to order, meat (bacon, sausage or chorizo) taters and a choice of toast or biscuits (beer biscuits more specifically) In her own description she declared her food "An OG MF" ... high praise considering the source. I did the biscuit sandwich (sausage, egg & cheese). This ain't no itybity fast food puck of sadness ... no, this is a substantial breakfast. The biscuit however, is the big player. Beer biscuits done well are near a magical thing. They got theirs on lock! All in all, a great experience and a good time. We'll be back, sho nuff!

Came here late Sunday morning to grab some breakfast and was delighted with the options. I got the veginator-- scrabbled eggs over wedge potatoes and a dollop of guacamole. The dish was delicious! Paired with a cup of coffee and it made for great combo. I like my potatoes a bit more seasoned but they worked well with a side of hot sauce. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is low key-- order at the counter and seat yourself situation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were a lot of families so I'd say is definitely family friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd come back to try the bacon and pancakes next time!

Eggs, bacon, potatoes, beer biscuit (gravy $1 more but so worth it!)
    Marianthe V.

I've only had breakfast and coffee here and it's always so good. I tried their matcha latte and loved it. They have different biscuits but will sell out quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great breakfast /lunch spot with outdoor seating as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Good selection of craft beers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Handful of people with their laptops.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I was always greeted immediately upon walking in and the staff was very nice and helped me with placing takeout orders. Service was always fast, and the food was so good. Over the days, I ordered a Ham&Cheese, Reuben, Club, and Patty Melt. The Reuben was my absolute favorite. I liked that the corned beef and pastrami was not too salty. The rye? bread that was used was sooo soft and fluffy which is what made this place memorable to me. Side pickle was also crunchy and tasty and I liked the potato salad! Thank you for making my court days a little bit better. I'm glad there are other locations so I don't need to return downtown to get a great sandwich again!

Heading towards Dallas, I asked Mrs. K. if she wanted proper smoked salmon for breakfast and she was all in. As we're in the area for the Sixth Floor museum, this was an easy stop once we found and paid for parking. A small storefront with a large dining room that is decorated with some New York themed photos, we seated ourselves and a waitress brought over menus followed by coffee. We placed our orders and about ten minutes later, breakfast arrived. Mrs. K.'s platter included a good portion of thin sliced salmon along with ALL of the fixings including capers, cucumber, tomato, red onion and cream cheese. The toasted everything bagel was very good but not quite "New York style" perfection. Hey, it's Texas. You get to slide. My nova, eggs and onion plate was excellent with a huge portion of home fries. Cooked properly and with plenty of salmon mixed in, I enjoyed it very much. The biscuits were excellent, the gravy was a little thin on sausage but still tasty. Five stars because it's great service and great food. This is as close to New York style as you'll get when you're 1400 miles from Brooklyn. [Review 394 of 2026 - 709 in Texas - 25578 overall]

Normally, I don't consider people from St. Louis to be credible deli evaluators, but I was desperate and made the hour drive to Grapevine. We got there at 11:15 and the line was nearly to the door. Within 30 minutes, it was well out into the street. That was a promising sign. The sandwich menu covered the entire wall over the counter. Lots of non-New-York sandwiches like Cubans, gyros, etc, but over in the left corner were the classic Ruebens and pastramis. I went for the latter. A REAL NY deli usually has a few soups like split pea and chicken noodle and matzoh. No soups. Bummer. They had a half dozen sides - 3 kinds of potato salads and a few slaws. I went with the German potato salad. The drink option was spartan - they tossed a styrofoam cup at me and pointed to the soda fountain. The pastrami sandwich was OK for Texas. A SUPER pastrami sandwich on hard rye can get me moaning like Meg Ryan in "When Harry Met Sally" -- only I don't have to fake it. The German potato salad was watery and bland - I should have gone with the mustard potato salad. Turnaround was on the slow side. Napkins = paper towel roll on table. Flimsy plasticware. The overall vibe was affordable utilitarian. I'll give the sandwich a 4, everything else a 3. Next time I'll drive the extra half hour to Cindi's.

I can't say for certain what caused it, but guessing maybe something from the display case, but the flavor was so HORRIBLE that I only managed two bites of each before throwing them away because I didn't feel comfortable eating any more in fear of getting sick. The coffee frosting also had an old, stale coffee flavor. The chocolate cake was better. It was good, but not great. The cake itself wasn't dry, but it wasn't super moist either. One detail I did appreciate was that each slice was wrapped with paper along the sides to help keep it fresh, and not drying out in th I would have gladly taken the cakes back, but I had purchased them to go and was already too far away by the time I tasted them. As someone who absolutely loves cake, I truly wanted this place to become a favorite. It was disappointing because I had such high hopes based on the reviews. While the atmosphere and customer service were wonderful, the cakes simply didn't meet my expectations.
