    British steak and eggs

5 stars! Fantastic staff Have it all menu Plenty of seating Pups allowed outback 15 outback patio seats 7 upfront patio seats I love when a restaurant cuts my steak up for me. Free coffee refills. My server Matthew was so kind and the manager Gregory went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and get to know me and welcome me back. This is one of the better steaks I've had here in Dallas so far, I was really surprised. Didn't even use A1. It's quiet, bright, friendly. Almost too much food haha. Oh annnnd they have beignets! Fresh juice Juice shots Coffee (real coffee bar) Of course drinks galore What a gem!

Solid brunch spot if you're in uptown area and curious on trying it. The yelp waitlist for this area is very inaccurate. It said about 30-45 mins for a wait time around 10am on a Saturday. 1.5 hours later and we were still on it and we assumed it was busy. After calling the serve just said to come on over. It appeared that they sit patrons walk ins faster than people on the waitlist. However we got a cinnamon snail ($7) and it was somewhat flat, lacked flavor, and good for 2 -4 bites. We got the monte cristo ($16)which was very solid and had lots of flavor. The farmers market ($14.50) was huge in portion but lacked flavor or seasoning. Our waiter did forget our hashbrowns that they immediately brought out in a few mins- but this place looks disorganized and somewhat chaotic. There's better brunch spots in uptown- I wouldn't recommend this place immediately as the bar section was offering seasonal cocktails for about $17 each. At that point I'd go across to Bowen house for a matching price but higher quality.

I had ordered from this place for delivery, but I always wanted to come into the restaurant. My nephew came to help me out with some planting projects and I told him I would take them to breakfast. He said he wanted a real breakfast breakfast not hippie toast with avocados on it so I told him let's come to dream Café. First off you could use the Yelp app to make a reservation or get on the waitlist which is fabulous. We had wanted to go after church today and I saw that there was actually no weight happening so this was a double bonus. The restaurant will validate your parking in the adjacent parking garage for up to two hours for free seeing that there was no waitlist meant that I wouldn't be spending part of that time waiting to get seated. We were promptly greeted by several people. It was great coffee came out right away as did our popovers that's what their iconic here for. My Nephew ordered chicken and waffles. The chicken was plenty full and juicy, and the waffles were nice and thick they were served with real maple syrup. I got this chicken fried steak breakfast with eggs on the side and there was also a biscuit which my nephew took and hashbrowns. I have half of my breakfast for a meal tomorrow. The place was great. The prices were great and the food was delicious. If you're coming over here put into your GPS dream Café parking and it will take you right to the appropriate parking garage. Too simple.

Cute location with great staff. My dad and i came here for brunch today and shared the cloud cakes and quiche. The cloud cakes were disappointing. The bottom pancake was overcooked on both sides. Also- it doesnt come with enough toppings. The quiche was pretty good- the hashbrowns were unseasoned and underwhelming. I got a juice shot that was pretty good- complexion or something. Anyway- it reminds me of snooze but not as good. Just ok.

Not sure which view I liked more: the food on the table or the girl across from me! Seriously, the food here is amazing, and the wait staff is equally amazing. I wasn't sure what to get because everything looked good, and I joked with our waitress, Misty, that maybe I'd just start with the first thing on the menu and work my way down every time I come back. The monte cristo was delicious and the one bite I had of the mile high omelette was pretty tasty, too. You have to try the popover if you go. It's a nice side to any meal, and the house-made strawberry butter is fantastic. Oh, and for my iced coffee lovers out there, I thought it was neat that instead of traditional ice cubes (which inevitably melt and water down your coffee), they use frozen coffee cubes! Five stars. No notes. I will be back (and soon)!

Took my mom and son for lunch at dream cafe. First I will say the parking was easy. It's I parking garage and once you go up it's right around the corner and dream cafe does validate. Once inside it's set up like a diner with plenty of seating but because it was so nice outside we wanted to dine out there. Plenty of seating and really nice. Our waiter was very helpful. Because I plan to come back later to try breakfast I went with a lunch option of grilled cheese with ham and tomato soup. It was really good and filling. The serving size was just the right amount.

Cinnamon Snail or Danish - 3/5

Shout out to the waiter that took care of us- Diego! He was awesome!!! I ordered the Rancheros and it was pretty good. The whole time I had my eyes on the cinnamon snail pastry. I got one of those and a coffee and it made my day. It wasn't the best I ever had- but it was good and the vibe of the place combined with how nice and attentive the staff was made the whole thing an amazing vibe!

The location is in the heart of uptown. Easy to find, and there is plenty of free street parking around the perimeter. There is a parking lot but you have to pay for it. The restaurant is very quaint, modern, fresh. The staff was sweet, and helpful, although they did take a long time to get us the check at the end. The best part of this restaurant is they do cater to vegans and people who want to eat healthy when going out. I ordered an oatmilk chai latte with whole grain pancakes, and hashbrown. The latte hit the spot instantly! The hashbrown was Heaven- it was a perfect mix of soft in the middle and crispy on the outside. The pancakes in the otherhand were a bit heavy and bland, nothing special. Of course we have to consider i am getting the healthy pancake, it's not going to be the most delicious in the world. I will definitely come back for brunch again because they offer vegan dishes, The place is cute and the staff were respectful!

Hot hazelnut latte. It was "okay"

Good selection of food. greeted as soon as we walked in. Our server was Diego, He was very friendly and attentive. We ordered huevos rancheros, it was a runny egg so let them know how you want it. Also order the cinnamon snail, the taste was good but it was hard and difficult to cut into. Place was clean and bright.

It was my first time, and I loved the you're so vegan! I was also grateful that they have hot sauce and black pepper at the table. The host was extremely kind and literally bowed at my feet (completely serious), and my server was very nice as well.

    Austin Tacos
    Chloe S.

The food was good, I got the Austin Tacos (subbed the breakfast potatoes inside for the hashbrowns) & the skintastic juice was really refreshing- also thought pretty small for $7. Giving 3 stars because the woman who was at the front when we arrived (some blonde headed lady, 45+ in age if I were to guess) was so snippy & rude for no reason. So if you want a pretty good cheap meal I'd go here just make sure to steer clear of the blonde woman.

Me and my girlfriend traveled to Dallas from San Antonio for the State Fair of Texas and was in search for a good brunch spot. Dream Cafe was perfect from the moment we walked inside to the moment we left. Our Server Misty was the best. She was personable and 5/5 on all recommendations. We ordered Bignets and Deviled eggs for appetizer with Mimosas and for our entrees we split the Country Fries Steak platter with the French Toast platter and the Omelet. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. Shout out to the host as well with the white and black polkadot suit he was very professional and fun always checking in with us and making sure we're enjoying ourself. The inside and outside deck is a vibe 10/10

Silly ole me asked if onion cups could be provided and the resturant obliged, thank-you! Now for the taste test. The shrimp and pork dumplings were well packed with the protein. They dressed it well in sauces too! As I placed my dumpling in the onion cup i can say the sharpness of the onion meshed well. The crunch also brought another level texture to a soft dumpling. Now this is usually done with soup dumplings but when I say its a trend it ended diverting from the original post. Regardless, the restaurantet let me be silly and I appreciated it! As for our pizza, not to sound like im a pizza critic but this was a good one. The slice held well the toppings were fresh, especially the basil! It was thin and airy. They do not have a brick oven in case you were wondering. It didn't matter to me. I enjoyed my pizza! The cocktails were spot on in liquor and flavor balance. Thank you once again for being a great start to my vacation!

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

WILL NEVER BE BACK!…read more HATED. EVERY. MOMENT. OF. THIS. PISS. POOR. EXPERIENCE. EVERY. SINGLE. MOMENT. VALET. NOT. FREE. I called before deciding where to eat on a Sunday afternoon to confirm parking situations. Parking is not easy downtown so this played a huge factor in figuring where, out of the dozens of brunch places, to eat. Definitely a bit of a walk to get accommodated at the actual restaurant so valet seemed the most reasonably enticing for parking solutions. Well, I called and spoke with the lady at the front desk. I confirmed with this little girl FOUR TIMES IF 1. They had valet available today 2. If it was complimentary. Come to find out it was not complimentary. And $7 for parking just doesn't sit well with me when there are ample free options else where with satisfying beverage, meal, ambiance, and service. All of which, I DID NOT GET AT HAYWIRE. I come in and although I had a reservation that I was 10 minutes early for while noticing tables available, I was told by that same girl who lied to me about parking I needed to take a seat. Reassuring me that it would only take two minutes to be seated. 10 minutes later I see coupled and groups walking in and guess what? They were immediately sat. While I am waiting to be sat at one of the three clean tables I'm staring at. I finally tell my boyfriend I am about to eat at the bar and he goes to the hostess stand to inform them our frustration and guess what? We were sat immediately. I get seated and there are two standing fans placed next to my table that's blowing my hair all over the f*****g place. I had to tell them to turn them off. What? No AC in this place either?? We immediately ordered and got the elk tacos for an appetizer. The tacos are WAY too spicy and way too salty. Too spicy AND too salty?? They're a no for me. You literally can't taste anything because of both! I HATED these little tacos. Probably the worst I've ever had. Ever seen someone attempt to pinch a bit of salt to season and the entire top comes off?? These tacos. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak. He loved it (loves spicy and seasonings because he's Cajun) but I tried it and it was over seasoned. Again? Couldn't taste what I was eating. The mashed potatoes were divine. Enjoyed those! And then the green beans were tasteless. Hahaha what a joke. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles and it was literally too spicy to eat. Inedible. My eyes teared up, my nose started running, and I couldn't taste anything after a couple bites of the spice. I was so f*****g over this place I just ate my boyfriend's mashed potatoes and we left. If I had it my way, I wouldn't have paid for a thing here. They don't deserve our money and I HATE they got a cent from me. I'm livid. I hate this place W I L L N E V E R B E B A C K

The location is a bonus, close enough to the trail that we parked once and made a full morning of it. We got there close to opening, and with World Cup later that afternoon the wait was nonexistent. Good timing on our part. The vibe inside is cool and laid back, exactly what you want after a morning outside. Service was friendly from the jump, and the bar clearly knows what they're doing. They make a great Carrajillo, which for me is a non-negotiable bonus. On to the food. I went with the Eggs Benedict and they were top tier, great flavor, well made, and came out fast. My wife got the jalapeño biscuits and gravy, and I'm genuinely glad she did because I was torn between that and what I ordered. I ended up getting bites of both, which was the right outcome for everyone. Both were phenomenal. This one is an easy add to the rotation. The trail, the food, the Carrajillo, it all works together. I've been here once before a few years back and the sentiment has held true since then. We were looking for a place to get brunch and Chelsea provides a waitlist in their website, so when we saw it didn't show any time on the estimate portion we decided to go check them out without adding our names (what's the point if there's no wait, right?). We walked in only 5 minutes after I'd look at that waitlist and were told they actually DID have a 30min wait. I pointed out the issue with their website and they just said it was normal, and I was also confused because there were plenty of open tables all around. We sat at the bar and not even 3 mins later we got a text saying our table was ready, and we just laughed as we walked back up to the hostess. The space is laid out in a way that seemed to cut down on the overall noise which was nice, and the seats were comfortable. We were sat inside and I could see that there was further seating in an outdoor area that also looked cute. Our drinks and food were pretty good. Nothing mind-blowing, but very reasonably priced for what you get and the dishes had good portion sizes. We left more than satisfied! Our server was nice but overall kind of slow, especially towards the end. It took a while to be able to request our checks so we could pay and head out. We'll keep this place in mind for the future because of the food variety and the prices. Definitely recommend calling ahead of time and not trusting their online waitlist estimates.

I also recommend their iced latte with whatever house-made syrup your prefer (usuals like caramel, vanilla, mocha, and then not-so-usuals like coconut pandan, lavender, brown sugar date, etc.). Enjoy!

However they were attentive and the overall ambiance was nice and upbeat for a brunch place. Food wise, everything here was average. Nothing stood out as something I absolutely would come back for. We got two Benedict's that were not very warm and has hollandaise/gravy that was not very flavorful but the home fries were seasoned and fried well. The French toast was quite good but was very obviously put in the microwave right before serving with a steaming hot center. The best part was the blueberry kale salad which had a nice vinaigrette and the cashews were a nice touch. Overall, with the number of brunch spots in Dallas I would reserve halcyon for study/coffee spot as opposed to a must try weekend brunch.

Ended up here after a longgg walk on Katy Trail with my three dogs. I was looking for a…read moredog-friendly spot to grab a drink and relax, and Knox Bistro's covered patio was exactly what I needed. Arrived pretty late, so the kitchen and dessert service had already closed. I was really hoping to try the sticky toffee cake but that'll have to wait until next time. Instead, I tried the Hibiscus Paloma mocktail with grapefruit, lime, and Topo Chico, which was incredibly refreshing after being outside. The Garden soirée was also excellent and refreshing. The NBA game was on, and the whole place was really into it (including the staff) which made for a fun atmosphere. Service took a little longer than usual, but given the energy in the room, I honestly didn't mind. The covered patio was comfortable, dog-friendly, and a great place to unwind.

I've had many wonderful meals at Knox Bistro, so my boyfriend and I were really looking forward to…read morea delicious, relaxing evening. The night started beautifully--we enjoyed espresso martinis at the bar and were then seated at one of our favorite tables. We ordered a bottle of wine and caviar and were settling in to plan the rest of our meal when the experience took a turn. A tween/teen birthday party was seated in the private room. At first, we assumed the noise was just initial excitement and would settle after a few minutes. The parents of the birthday girl were seated nearby, and when the mother got up, we expected she might ask the girls to lower their volume. Unfortunately, the opposite happened--she brought the group out into the main dining room for photos, where the noise level became even more disruptive. Another couple seated near us--at what is typically a very desirable table--lasted no more than five minutes before asking to be moved outside. Shortly after, a manager approached the private room. We anticipated they would address the noise, but instead, they greeted the party warmly and thanked them for being there, without making any effort to manage the disruption. After so many consistently great experiences, it was honestly shocking. We truly felt as though we were being punked. My boyfriend and I both have children and enjoy bringing them to nice restaurants, but part of that experience includes ensuring they understand and respect the environment. When that standard isn't upheld--especially with no support from management--it significantly detracts from the experience for everyone else.
