Chips, Salsa and Queso Blanco are very good.

This is a very good Bar & Grill in the Lakewood area. We were looking for someplace to get a relatively quick bite to eat and decided to give Hillside a try. The food was great, and the menu is more than just traditional bar food. They have a full bar with some good craft cocktails and lots of beer on tap. We ate inside and the crowd noise made it very difficult to carry a conversation. Our waiter was also "in the weeds" so things took a little longer than we anticipated. Nevertheless, we will definitely go back.

We were really pleased with how nice everyone was here. The service is amazing. I also really loved the interior as I'm very fond of string lights. Food is great too! Check out my photos!

Hillside Tavern has great food - the wedge salad is insane (maybe the best wedge ever?) and their fries are addicting. Drinks are solid too. Great spot to pop in for a chill dinner or to watch a game. Only complaint about this place is the prices. It's just a little too expensive for a casual dinner and for the type of food they serve. We would come back so much more often if it was more affordable!

Great neighborhood spot with amazing food and drinks! We got the wings, queso, and chicken Caesar wrap- all were amazing! Will definitely be back for happy hour

Hillside Tavern offers a relaxing neighborhood dining experience that's full of wonderful dining and cocktails specials for their guest daily; starting with fun happy hours, and weekend brunches. The staff guided by the watchful eyes and hands on management style of Melody and Stephanie assures each patron enjoys every minute you're with them. The generous digital menu offers many culinary and drink options to satisfy a diverse audience, many whom live in the area. The outdoor signage could be better, the placement and illumination, don't draw the attention the restaurant and patio deserve. Although a casual sports bar vibe is what you'll experience, I expected more of the restrooms which don't live up to the ambiance of the main dining and bar areas. You'll have problem parking because the plaza offers plenty. I hope you have a great time and take advantage of their amazing specials. See you soon! Xoxo Lorenzo!

Amazing place that feels like a neighborhood bar except it has great cocktails and even better food. The service is always spot on here and all the food is killer. What chef Josh pushes out of the kitchen is magic. We tried the grinder (best sando I've had in years) and the Nashville hot chicken tenders. Perfect amount of spice and way too much flavor. We also ordered the elote and loaded fries. Both are a must try! They also have a good draft beer selection. Can't wait to come back!

I was meeting a friend for brunch down in Dallas, and this is our go to. Easy to be seated, fun atmosphere. Good drinks list. And tasty tasty food. The service was great today, I got some bubbles, and we shared the tuna tartare nachos. We cleaned the plate, such a good mix of sauces. I then had the grinder. It was a super tasty sandwich. Pipes of meat on a super fresh roll. I ate it all!!

Coffee table in the casual sitting area laden with a Tate Farm burger, tots, the quesadilla plate, and beverages.

With the unexpected beautiful weather in Dallas today, the couch at Hillside Tavern just inside the from the sunny patio was the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine with a friend and celebrate the holidays a little more. Eventually, we ordered lunch. The Tate Farm burger was a winner on a nice gluten free bun. The quality meat cooked up well and was perfectly complimented by the onion jam and aioli. We shared some tater tots that were savory, fresh, and had the great mouth feel that you get with a crisp exterior and soft inside. My friend had the chicken quesadilla and said the tortilla was fresh and perfect with melty, gooey cheese and plenty of chicken. The guacamole and pico de gallo were fresh and tasty. Making the time even more enjoyable was the excellent service. So often, when you go to a restaurant at an off hour like the midafternoon, the rhythm is off and the service suffers. Not so here. The bar tender and busses kept everyone well taken care of with attentiveness without being overbearing. The kitchen was clearly in sync too as our meal was delivered in a timely manner. My only complaint is that I'm a bit limited in what a can order because of my allergies, but if I'm in the mood for a great burger, sandwich, or salad, I'm good to go. I'm pretty sure I'll be back soon.

We got a cheeseboard, but if I had to recommend one thing, definitely the fried mushrooms if you like mushrooms. They're huge and the spicy cilantro sour cream sauce is killer! We sat in the indoor/outdoor area, which was my fave. It can take a minute to flag someone down when it's busy, but that felt understandable for how busy they were. Easy place to settle into and lose track of time a bit--just drinks, conversation, and good food without overthinking it.

The Guinness is poured so perfectly it should be in the Louvre. The bartender, Austin (I'm pretty sure that's his real name and not just what he tells customers), has the patience of a saint and the sarcasm of a man who's been asked "Do you have anything like Guinness but less dark?" one too many times. Highlights: The fish & chips were so good I briefly considered converting to Catholicism just so I could thank God properly. The bathroom graffiti is poetic. "Roses are red, violets are blue, I came for a piss and met half the crew." - actual quote. Then you've got Hannah, who's basically the pub's chaos coordinator. She's got blonde hair that could guide ships in a fog and a laugh that echoes like a banshee having a great time. Don't sleep on Wes - He'll nod once, slide you your drink, and if you're lucky, mutter something profound like "Life's short, drink good stout." Then he disappears to polish glasses like he's auditioning for a monastery. Absolute mystery man, 10/10 enigma. And rounding out the crew is Paige, the wildcard. She's got stories that start with "Back in then..." and end with police chases, lost sheep, and at least one exploding still. She'll flirt with your grandma, roast your ex in three sentences or less. There is also this Asian guy that looks like a confused troll with blonde hair. He lives up to the saying once you go Asian it's amasian. Can't forget the blonde girl that's going through the Dallas legacy transition of bottle service to real estate. Shes as good at serving as she is selling real estate. These people run the bar like a well-oiled dysfunctional family. They banter with each other louder than the jukebox, remember birthdays you forgot you told them, and have an unspoken code: if you're having a rough night, they'll slide you a free shot and pretend it was a mistake. If you're being a gobshite, they'll roast you into next week without missing a pour.

This review is long overdue but hey as long as I get it done…read more We were luckily referred to Harwood Arms by the front desk of our hotel at check-in, which was conveniently within walking distance (~10 mins) and has a kitchen that's open late which was nice after a day of travel, later check-in and being hungry. It was a few days before Thanksgiving, there was a decent crowd in the bar and everyone including the bartender (who's name I now cant remember because I took so long to write this) were all very friendly and helpful. The bar was warm, cozy and decked out in Christmas decor (and cute bathroom wallpaper). Good beer selection, great food (I literally ate the tikka masala twice during our couple day trip) and they were conveniently open on Thanksgiving after the game and a fun shot wheel, which was both fun to partake in and fun to watch others do.
