My husband and I have been going here for years. Went this afternoon for a quick bite and learned that several of the longtime staff have left. That was a major disappointment. After we paid our bill with a credit card, I noticed that we were charged a 3% credit card fee. That was a first, and likely began in April since our last visit was on 3/24/26 and no credit card fee was assessed. Nowhere on the menu was it mentioned there would be a credit card fee, nor was it articulated by a bartender. That sort of fee makes me wonder what's going on in this establishment. Fun dive-type bar but super unique and really fun feel. Great to see this in an area with so many chains. I didn't have any food but they have a nice selection of drinks. Definitely recommend for happy hour. read more

Not bad of a place, but not my favorite either. Bartenders seem pretty decent, lighting is better, no longer a dungeon. It's the just planned layout that drives me nuts. It's so crammed! There is this long ass table between the main part of the bar and the external walls. When you try to get to the bathroom, you have to literally nudge by every thing and every one. read more

Went to Holy Grail last night for the first time. It's a really awesome pub for a casual hang out or date. Loved all of the cool flags hanging from all over the world. Our waiter who introduced himself as big Mike was pretty cool. Loved his vibe! We didn't order food but had a couple of beers. I tried the Deep Ellum IPA which was pretty tasty. There was also a waitress who would walk around with mini glasses of Guinness handing them out to whoever wanted them. That was pretty cool too! I came with a friend for a drink recently. It was opening weekend for World Cup and the place was decked out and packed. I had been here only once before here years ago, but they have expanded considerably since then. Love the dark pub feel and the prices were amazing. The bar staff was so attentive and friendly. Fun Irish bar in North Dallas with a great interior decor and vibe. Service is good and happy hour prices for Bier is welcome. The food is good but, not as good as it could be. Came by on a Monday for lunch, besides my party of 2 there was just one other patron inside. Obviously not busy so we decided to sit at the bar. We were immediately greeted by the bartender - I forget his name but he was very professional and friendly. For a starter we ordered the soft pretzel twists ($10) - pub food for the win! Then onto entrees, I ordered the pork schnitzel ($16) and my bf got the fish & chips ($20). Both meals were fantastic! I absolutely loved the schnitzel I got, even the green beans were seasoned/cooked well. My bf also enjoyed his meal, there were no leftovers for either of us. I didn't drink but my bf did, they have a good beer list - he was happy. We really liked the medieval pub style ambiance and the cleanliness. Plus, pricing is 100% reasonable in my opinion. This is definitely someplace that I will be returning to soon! read more

We went in for lunch on a Thursday- it's in a strip mall so it's not terribly hard to find a spot to park- pretty much had the place to ourselves. Sat in a booth and had the bartender as a waiter. He was a nice fella and didn't forget we existed. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer, they were out quickly and were DELICIOUS. Great dipping sauce too- ranch is so tired, I liked the zest! I saw a picture online of the steak frites and... oh man was that not what I got. The meat was cooked perfectly, however, if I had closed my eyes I would have told you with 100% certainty that no seasonings whatsoever were anywhere near it. I had no idea chimichurri could taste blank. The fries in the photo looked amazing. Apparently that's a special menu ask or something- no flavor in sight. My fiancé had... brisket sandwich maybe? It was good. My food made me sorely regret not getting the Cuban that I originally had my eyes on. His sandwich was good enough to still be open to trying it again. Cool setting and music There is seating indoor and outdoor. Service from our waitress was great and food came out really quickly. The pretzels were my favorite. I wasn't expecting how soft they were and the chunkiness of the salt. It came with two dips- cheese and horseradish (very strong). Personally, I enjoy strong horseradish, however my family wasn't a huge fan. The cheese dip was a little bland. The burger was large and cooked well. The peri peri chicken wings were cooked well (crispy on the outside and tender on the inside), however not as flavorful. Peri peri is usually pretty packed and has some spice. We specifically came for the Fish n Chips. Huge portion that can be split between two. The beer batter was great and so was the tartar sauce. I do, however, think you should know your fish. We hadn't tried pollock previously. It was "softer" than we expected or what we are use to with cod and mahi mahi. If you like pollock, then this is a really great plate! read more

After biking at Erwin Park in McKinney, it was late and I needed some grub (and Guinness, for strength!). My friend recommended this on his list of Irish Pubs around here, so I decided to give it a try. For a strip mall Irish Pub, it does take you into another world. Cool entrance that opens up to a horseshoe bar with tons of tables and booths. It was Trivia night, so they only had the Stanley Cup playoff on one TV. Sat down at the bar and ordered my Guinness and reviewed the menu. There were a couple of selections I was interested in (always gravitate to Bangers n' Mash), but went with the fish & chips with French Onion soup. Get these together, because the fish is delicious in the beef broth of the French Onion! It was good, though fish could've used a little more batter with the thick walleye filets. I loved it all and enjoyed the conversation with the bartender with the I Love Indie Horror hat. Some good ones out there that aren't being made like they use to!! read more

This happens on more occasions than the one I'm mentioning today. The service is absolutely terrible. I come in and sit for over 10minutes before someone offers me a drink and then I have to wait another 10minutes before I receive the drink. The wings were very dry and black when peeled off the bone. They tried to add more sauce to cover it up instead of just not serving them to begin with. My dirty plate sits on the bar for a long period of time and I have to beg for my check to Cash out and leave. It's frustrating and happens all the time. Even the customers next to me noticed I was being treated differently than the other customers at the bar. read more

On our, "Wanna try" list so we popped in for lunch and it wasn't busy at all. We sat at the bar and had a fun time chatting with Rachael while we pursued the menu. Hubby loved the Bangers and Mash. The sausage is house made and tasted very "beefy" but lots of flavor. I had the Chicken Cali. The lettuce was wilted and brown but the flavoring on the grilled chicken was delicious! Ask for Morgan - amazing bartender! Didn't get a picture of the entrees but the fish and chips give you a giant portion and are amazing! The goat cheese balls are amazing! The look of this place is really cool, however, the food is bad, like, just barely on the side of edible bad. I had fish and chips and my bf had chili. We also shared the espresso cheesecake. It's very dark . Dark wood typical bar feel. We went to watch the cowboy game said on line a place to watch . They have lots of screens all across the long bar . They were all playing the same soccer game . There was 1 small tv that had no visibility from anywhere . I hinted could they do one with Cowboys game . Nope. Ordered a burger that got good reviews . Ordered medium well. We've usually found well done. It's too dry. But medium comes out too bloody. This one basically came out raw. So they took it back, took the patty off, cooked it longer and stuck it back on the same bun. Fries were good. Waitress was nice. We should've gone somewhere else to watch the game, but we had already sat down. It was a soccer type crowd. I think this is a more go and sit at the bar and drink kind of place. My friend and fellow Yelper Diana D. hipped me to this place and it has quickly become a favorite! The atmosphere is very on-theme as a medieval tavern. There is an extensive drink menu, with particularly well-crafted (read "strong") bourbon drinks, and all for $10-$12! The Lavender Old Fashioned is really great if you're into Old Fashioneds, and the Bulleit Proof is also really great and extremely strong! As for food, I've had the fried pickles, the fried goat cheese, the brisket grilled cheese sandwich, and the meatloaf. Everything has been good! No notes. The service at The Holy Grail has been consistently good the times I've been here as well. The staff are all very friendly and patient. I look forward to coming back to try more things and have more of the menu. If you're looking for a good no-frills bar and grill at a decent price, your quest ends here. first of all the ambience!!! this place looks like a medieval bar inside i loved it! i totally wasnt expecting that but i want to come again just because of it the waiter was really nice and came by often now the food!!! honestly i got a burger but i was tipsy so i forgot to take a picture of it but im still thinking about it days later.. it was flavorful and big and perfect. my boyfriend got the regular burger and it wasnt special but it was the perfect classic burger the gravy fries were fantastic but we did have to ask for extra gravy on the side cus it didnt have enough. totally chill though they didn't charge us and honestly? amazing. its kind of like poutines if youre into that the drinks are STRONGG but they don't taste it. definitely need to go back and try more read more

My boyfriend has been talking about this place for MONTHS & we finally had a chance to stop in. We started with the Hummus (delish!) & a cpl of beers. They weren't too busy yet for an early Friday evening. The bar is a big wrap around w/ plenty of seating. Great ambiance even w/o any music (or if it was playing it was super low). Bartenders were attentive. We finished w/ the Espresso Cheesecake which was hands down one of the best I've ever had!! The Lindermans Framboise was a hit as well. 10/10 will return! The burgers are supposed to be awesome, however I had the Steak Frites (which the Yelp menu showed to be beef tenderloin for $22 / reasonable) - however I was served a small portion of "flank steak" instead. (Pissed - bait and switch!?!?) Good thing the staff apologized and gave me 50% off for the error. Very professional and the right thing to do. Very impressive, I never asked. Awesome empowerment to the staff from the owner. RARE TO SEE!! They explained there was a menu change and evidently the Yelp website was not updated. They are to have a meeting tomorrow and the Mgr was going to have it fixed! I could not be more proud of the staff and the way they handled this. PERFECT! While I would normally give a 2-3 star, I'm giving 4 because of the excellent service I got and the way they handled everything. And several people around me said the burgers were crazy good. THIS IS A PLACE WHICH CARES ABOUT MAKING SURE YOU ARE HAPPY!! This is too rare of an attitude to score low. In several years, I've never said this.
