Way too salty!!
Chad J.

Had lunch here with 4 co-workers. Food: Calamari was ok, just your average fried calamari. Grilled beef sliders were decent, apps all came out pretty quickly. Main dishes: Rueben - pretty good Steak Salad- steak was cooked perfectly Fish and chips- a little oily and over cooked Kung Pao Chicken - presentation was nice, but the chicken dry and the sauce was so salt forward I could not eat more than half of it- flavor not that great either. Service was slower than expected, had to hunt down the waitress a few times. Probably won't be back with so many options at Grandscape.

Went for happy hour!! Was a very busy Wednesday but our waitress was so attentive. We had the tuna stack , pear n prosciutto flat bread was delish !!!

Harvest bowl (I think?) - recommended

I had put off trying this place because of the so-so overall rating. My wife had been here once with friends and vouched for it, and im glad she did! It was hopping when we arrived on a Saturday evening, without a reservation. Super happy to have gotten a 2-top upstairs without a wait. Upstairs is cool, btw - definitely not a downgrade from the main area downstairs. And when it's NOT winter, they have a rooftop patio with access to the upstairs bar! Emily took GREAT care of us. Super personable and very genuine. My wife and I both had the harvest bowl (think that's what it was called?) and it was awesome. Loaded with healthy stuff yet managed to be tasty - I mean, unless you're craving a burger or nachos, etc, ha ha. Dry January is no fun, so I did try a mocktail. Always risky. The NA old fashioned was... interesting, but... okay at best. Just didn't hit the spot for what I wanted. But frankly, I've never had a cocktail that did, so... I didn't ding the rating. I should have gone with a Heineken Zero. Looking forward to coming back after Dry January!

We had dinner last night at Thirsty Lion before checking out Cosm and the rest of the Grandscape area. This is located in a great spot around everything but parking can be rough on the weekend. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. We were nervous when they didn't have any reservations left but they got us in without a wait. Our server had great recommendations and answered all of our questions. The fried rice was very flavorful. French fries were crisp. Burger got soggy a little quickly but was seasoned well. Mediterranean bowl was different but good. The menu has many options so we will be coming back. Highly recommend the pear martini as well!

I like there outdoor areas a lot (both upstairs and downstairs). It's great for family and friends gathering with fun choices of food. The quality and taste of their dishes are decent. Servers are nice and friendly too.

Excellent spot for breakfast/brunch with friends! Taps weren't working when we went for a fresh crisp beer but bottled worked just fine.

Our food was excellent! Our service eas phenomenal with Emmanuel. He was always smiling and pleasant. Very thorough. Nate, the GM, was just such a nice guy with making sure our experience was top notch. The drinks were very delicious as well. The atmosphere was great. We will definitely be frequent customers!

Classic Reuben with slaw.

Went there last night for dinner and I was not disappointed. Huge space that is very clean and inviting. Our server Andrea was awesome. Ver attentive to our needs. Food was delicious and came out in a very timely manner. I had the Poke Stack and the Fried Calamari for starters. Then moved onto the Rueben and my GF got the Tuscan Chicken. Both were very good and the portions were perfect. The Blood Orange Margarita was excellent. I strongly recommend this place.

I think I was expecting more of just a burgers and fries type of pub, but was pleasantly surprised at how multicultural the menu was. Our table had everything from a French dip sandwich to kimchi fried rice. All very good and the atmosphere was pleasant with a decent amount of TV screens with sports but yet comfortable enough to sit with family, friends, or even business colleagues for a drink. We went on a Friday afternoon and the business was fairly brisk but wait times were minimal. I'm guessing that would change as more of the prime dinner closes in but reservations are available so it's helpful.

I love the happy hour at Thirsty Lion! You can get drinks and appetizers for under $10, which is such a great deal. The grilled salmon bites were absolutely delicious, served with a bit of arugula and a light vinegar dressing on top, super flavorful. I also ordered the crispy calamari and some tacos, both of which were tasty and well-prepared. For drinks, I had a bourbon and a margarita both were good. I usually like my bourbon a little on the sweeter side since it can be strong, and they nailed the balance. Definitely a go-to spot for good vibes, great food, and solid drinks without breaking the bank! Happy hours is 3-6pm every day, 9pm-Close Thurs-Sat.

An evening spent with New friends and a good time. The Thirsty Lion located in the Grandscape offers delicious food surrounded by a variety of social experiences. Service was friendly. I enjoyed the shrimp baja tacos. Delicious!!

Love coming here for their bacon burger oh my God it's a hit every single time. The bun is super soft and the bacon I do extra crispy and these aren't thin slices of bacon. These are thick slices of bacon cooked perfectly. I always order the burger, medium. I get all the fixings and you cannot go wrong. It's the perfect meal when coming here. The service is always good as well and it's a great atmosphere to come either sit at the bar or grab some friends and make it a little party.

What does upstairs bar area look like?

Has high top tables for eating. A nice bar large bar. Lots of windows. I recommend it because it's quieter and you have to be 18 to eat upstairs.

Is it loud?

It can be. When I went, I sat upstairs near the patio are. The sound wasn't too loud there. You can hear the person across from you just fine.

Do they offer gluten free buns etc?

We have gluten free options but gluten free buns we do not.

Is there a wait for thirsty Lion Gastropub?

If there are people waiting, then yes there is. If not, then no there isn't.

The venue is designed to resemble a Prohibition-era speakeasy, with an entrance accessible through a rotary phone inside a red telephone booth (which actually works!). Our tour was led by Jamie, who shared his extensive knowledge as he guided us through the Prohibition Era alongside our concierge, Landon. The speakeasy features stunning floors made of 120-year-old Italian wood, beautifully decorated with art, books, and a selection of premium entertainment and spirits. Patrons can request "prescriptions," which are 2oz alcoholic shots inspired by the owner's grandfather, who was a pharmacist. Cocktails and friendly service was provided by Emma and Kyle, their services were a nod to Bob Ruede, RPB's renowned Intoxicologist, along with other award-winning bartenders recognized for their excellence in service and hospitality. Eric, the Cigar Attendant, is knowledgeable about how to properly enjoy an exceptional cigar experience. First our waiter kept getting distracted by waitresses and took forever to come back to us even just for simple drink orders. Forget about ordering food. Since we were in happy hour we ordered a ton of apps, so disappointing. The food was nowhere near the caliber ridiculous cost. The crab tasted old and like drinking ocean water, the ribs were dry and the shrimp app came with 9 small/ med shrimp for $20. My martini was okay the first round and then the bartender kept adding soda water for the next two. $20 smoked martini was smoked for literally 5 seconds. Then we get our check, which is completely wrong and over charged so if you don't heed the warning, check your ticket. And then to top of the extremely slow service and mediocre overpriced food, the night ended at 7:10 when the evening hostess came over and loudly announced we were only able to be seated because we promised to leave by 7. One of the most unprofessional and inaccurate interactions I've had. Don't bother. Don't go. Unless of course you enjoy disappointment at a deep cost.

I lucked out and found this place; came there on a Monday night and it wasn't busy at all. Their smoking area was small, but laid out extremely well with leather chairs and a large TV screen. The humidor was also rather small, and several of the cigars were pricier than I've seen. Where this place takes the cake is the ambiance, service and whiskey selection. My hostess, Mary, was extremely attentive and provided good recommendations on the food and beverages. And regarding the whiskey - their selection was massive. Mary recommended a Texas bourban (Unbendt BiB) that was delicious. It was so good that I brought a bottle back to Chicago.
