The shrimp appetizer was a hard pass. Ok sized but bland beyond bland. The wedge was ok but I'm not big on sweet flavor and there was a sweetness to the dressing I didn't care for. This is a 16-foot-long, 9-foot-high Swarovski crystal chandelier designed by Jeffrey Beers International, featuring 4,075 bohemian cut crystal beads and weighing 1,500 pounds. Now onto the food...specifically, the king crab! Life-changing. I'm not saying I fell in love, but I am saying if that crab proposed to me, I'd say yes without hesitation. Forget love languages, mine is clearly butter-drenched shellfish, and Trick Rider understood the assignment. Also, I ordered asparagus because I needed to pretend I'm a responsible adult who eats green things, and wow, I did not share. Not one spear. My bestie and I wanted to try an afternoon tea and this place was very local to us both so we decided to give it a try. I will say it was a bumpy start to actually getting to this place but it all worked out. We had originally booked our Saturday before the snow storm. They obviously canceled our original reservation due to weather. However when I went to rebook for the following Saturday there was some sort of complication with the Open Table app to where it would let me do everything except take my payment for the tea. After about 6 attempts I called the place. I could never get someone from the restaurant to answer for 3 days; even after leaving two voicemails. Then I called one last time and finally someone at the front desk transferred me to the hotel concierge and she was wonderful. She actually helped me and emailed the restaurant; then actually called me back the following day to see if anyone had followed up. (Which a person did not; just an automated text to book; resulting in the same issue with the payment part) So she told me she would put our reservation in and I'd just pay when we were there. She was an angel and I truly appreciated all her help. I'm not sure if it was a computer glitch; because I used that same card to pay in the restaurant. So after all that I still went in with an open mind for tea. The hostess was a young girl with no emotion. She wasn't super welcoming upon arrival. For my first time there; there was no "hi how are you today" or what can I do for you" she just didn't seem like she wanted to be there. They need a more friendly or bubbly person at that desk. We had such an incredible first time experience at Trick Rider for my sister birthday. The interior is so beautiful with a crystal balls sculpture at the center bar. To sum up this experience, our party of four was in agreement that the value for the dollar you spend is not there. Definitely an expensive menu and we are willing to spend the money. Totally understand they up charge everything being a nice restaurant, though if that's what you're going to do then make sure the quality is top notch. Our server was excellent, no complaints about him (I think his name was Steve). They treated us very well and we did receive a large booth and it didn't get too loud for the night we were in there so we could have a good conversation. The flow is excellent and you'll get complimentary champagne and dessert for a celebration. The cocktails were fine. The espresso martini was definitely more coffee forward though almost too bitter that you didn't know what to pair it with. The wine was fantastic as was the appetizers. I want to first start by saying that the staff here are all very nice. We liked the selection of food. However, there are some very notable things that need to be improved on, in our opinion. Their wine list struggles. The presentation of the wine list itself and the lack of variety beyond a Napa cab were both lackluster. The wine is a huge part of experience in a steakhouse and if I'm going to a steakhouse like this, I want the pomp and circumstance that a proper sommelier will provide. While people were accommodating in their service, it is not to the level that this type of establishment should be. Servers walked by our table without picking up finished dishes and when they brought us out a new course, they didn't change out the dishes or silverware, and we had to ask the servers dropping off the food to take away the dirty dishes. This is a big deal. I have no problems paying a premium for food, but the service has to match the price point. The place is very loud. At this point I don't know if that can be changed. I absolutely loved the flavor of the broiled oysters, but they came out so hot, that after waiting to be able to eat them, the sauce had literally hardened and had to scrape the oysters from the shell. Those maybe need to be taken out sooner to be able to enjoy them with its juices. The calamari and sauce were very good. I loved the flavor of the lamb and the sauce with labneh was fantastic. I was just surprised to get only four small pieces of lamb. The carrot cake was to die for. Many people came to our table throughout the meal to ask how the experience was. I know it's not meant to be intrusive, and they are all very nice, but it would be awkward to not say anything but, "it's great". I hope they take the constructive criticism and work on the overall dining experience. read more

My wife and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. Everything about our experience with Trick Rider was amazing except for one item. The moment we sat down we were quickly offered our drink of choice. From there we moved onto an appetizer which we shared a Caesar salad and calamari. Both of which were top tier. She had the 8 oz filet while I had the 10 oz. Both cooked to absolute perfection. Mac and cheese, asparagus and mashed potatoes complemented our steak for a wonderful meal. Afterwards we chose the massive decadent carrot cake for dessert. The experience was fantastic, and I look forward to coming here again. I take off one star because the restaurant is in a massive atrium with a bar in the middle and regular patron seating around the bar. This room is extremely loud. We were shouting with our waiter, and spent the evening in conversation with our voiced raised quite a bit just so we could hear each other. I hope that Trick Rider would consider some acoustic paneling that could blend in with the walls and ceiling to help with this problem. Panels would absorb the sound rather than bounce off the walls with constant echo and reverberation through the atrium. I think this would allow for better conversation between patrons, and staff. Only stopped in for drinks and appetizers but a small preview has me excited to go back and check out more! A friend was in town visiting and staying at the Omni so I stopped by to have a couple of drinks. It was late and didn't expect much. I live close by and honestly didn't have high expectations because restaurants around here are hit and miss but I was pleasantly surprised that a place this nice is so close by up here in the suburbs. It didn't just stop at the ambiance. The customer service might've been the best part. Although it was late and close to closing time, the staff was bright, energetic and extremely helpful. The manager Jimmy also came over, introduced himself, chatted sports a bit, and gave us an incredibly warm welcome. The food was absolutely incredible as well. We only had appetizers but everything was solid - the grilled oysters, which are probably some of the best I've ever had. No idea what sauce they put on that but it was amazing, 10/10. Would've been even better with some bread on the side. We also had the tuna tartare which was nice and fresh and the burrata, which isn't something I'd usually go for but was really good. Also had the grilled artichokes. I wasn't a fan but that doesn't mean they weren't good. Just not a big artichoke person. The star of the show was the wedge salad. I eat a lot of wedge salads and they're a dime a dozen but everything about this one was special. Thick chunks of bacon that are perfectly salty, the right balance of bleu cheese, fresh tomatoes and crisp lettuce, and the wildcard was the candied walnuts they put on it. It works so good. 20/10 seriously The drinks were good as well. I only tried one from their cocktail menu- a mixture of uncle nearest whiskey, grand marnier, and vanilla. Not a big whiskey drinker but it's been one of the best drinks I've had. Really well balanced I could see some people balking at the prices. It does feel a bit expensive just looking at some of the steak prices but also, look around at everything else haha so I get it. With all of the anticipation of this restaurant, I had very high expectations for this steak house. This is the closest fine dining restaurant in my community. Literally 4 minutes from my garage to their front door. My husband and I dined there Saturday night. It was an early dinner, so it was pretty quiet when we first arrived. The decor is very elevated Texas chic with a beautiful crystal horse floating over the center bar for an added splash of glamour. The server was knowledgeable and attentive, but could be have used a bit more finesse. Simple menu showcasing a variety of premium steaks as the star of the show. I do wish I there would have been some additional vegetable side options to accompany. We enjoyed a sampling of cocktails from the menu. All complex in their flavor profile and presented with sophistication. The food was good. Solid,, but not memorable. Overall I gave the dining experience a 3 out of 5 stars. I would definitely go back to the have a drink at the bar, but with the stiff steak house competition in Dallas, I think that the food should better reflect the pricing. For such a beautiful resort where it's clear every single detail was labored over and the menus at The Apron, poolside restaurants, and Ryder Cup Grille are well thought out and the food is actually good, Trick Ridder fell short for me. It's conveniently located in the resort so we didn't have to go far or worry about an Uber. The atmosphere is wonderful and like the resort, every detail is well thought out and appealing to the eyes. We were seated at a cozy booth facing the bar and the gorgeous crystal horse art display. Our waiter was wonderful, patient and knowledgeable. We both started with a glass of wine and got down to figuring out what we wanted to eat. Before arriving I'd perused the menu and figured I'd get the Salmon, but my husband was intrigued by the Grand Wagyu Beef Tasting and after he gave me that amazing smile I agreed. We added the Charred Broccolini as our side. The Grand Wagyu Beef Tasting was a disappointment (see image). Having been to Nick & Sam's and with the price tag of the option, we felt the presentation was lacking as were the portion sizes of each. To top it off, it tasted like any other steak I've had. There was nothing special or amazing about it. I had a slice of each and didn't bother going back for more. My husband enjoyed the meat, but agreed, there was nothing special about it. The cook on the meat was wonderful, but nothing else stood out. The dessert menu was was balanced, but nothing special so I skipped it. There was nothing wrong with the restaurant. From the front desk to the gentleman clearing our dishes, everyone was kind and friendly. Our waters stayed full, our drinks were good and a decent pour, the meat was fine, the broccolini good, but it just didn't stand out as amazing as we'd expected it to. I would definitely give Trick Rider another shot on my next stay and maybe try a seafood option. read more
