I come here for the ambiance. That said, the outdoor area is fabulous. I love the views and sitting by the fire pits on a chilly night. However, in the summer, spring and fall, when it is hot outside, I do not understand why the fire pits are on! No one wants to sit by a fire when it's 80+ degrees. I'm sure it looks cozy and nice from the hotel rooms, but it is not practical. Last weekend a few of my friends met there and we sat outside. We saw 6 mice running around very close to us. I understand this place is in what used to be a field, but at a 5-star hotel, I expect better rodent control. A qualified, experienced exterminator could handle this. The bartender, Chevon, (who is always there) was rude and ugly to our whole group and to those she didn't even know was in our group. The new DJ, (Shawn) skipped over our friend twice. Chevron (bartender) who didn't know the person she was speaking to was my sister, said "I hate that guy, all he sings is rock songs." I mean... it karaoke. And that guy she's talking about has been bringing a group of people here for over a year. So carry on the "high school drama" there are a ton of places in McKinney that are lovely and welcoming.
