My husband asked me out for lunch today! Any time he does that I know that he found a good place for us to try. Today we went to the Derbyshire Pub. He's British and wanted to find some really good Fish and Chips. I had high hopes, especially since this was a "Pub". Pub's over in England have the BEST food! He ordered Fish and Chips and I ordered a Patty Melt. The waitress brought us out drinks (waters) and we waited. And waited. And still waited. There was a couple at the table next to us and they were waiting also. FINALLY the Fish and Chips arrived, it was SO exciting! Well, I should say it was just the Fish and Chips that arrived. The lady at the table next to us had ordered the Fish and Chips also. The gentleman next to us had to wait for his food just a little bit longer, and when it came I saw that it was a hamburger. I was the only one now who was still waiting on their meal. At this point I was thinking of just canceling my order because it was taking so long, but then it finally appeared. I looked at the chips and thought to myself, "what are these?" They did not resemble the Chips that we were accustomed to having. I was hoping for thick slices of potato, like Steak Fries or Cottage Fries. These resembled thick slices of potato chips and they really weren't thick at all. My husband continued to eat his meal. I looked at his meal and thought "why is that one piece of fish over on the left side of his plate/tray?" It looked overcooked. Really overcooked. He didn't look very pleased. Come to find out, it wasn't just over-cooked, it was also dry. And it was a very small portion. Please note: he ordered the larger portion, not the half portion. But it was really small. We both continued to eat our meals and then asked for the bill, paid and then left. As usual, we always discuss the new places we visit on the way home. We both agreed this time. We had high hopes. But the Fish and Chips were not as authentic some reviewers have mentioned. So we most likely won't be back. Which is too bad, because it is a really cute place and we really wanted to like it. Food is great. I was missing Camelot's in the Bay Area and this spot is honestly a bit better overall. Arrive hungry lol. Burgers are massive. My kid had one and we had to cut it in 4's. She loved it. We tried the pretzel and it was great. I had fish n chips and dad had the bangers n mash. All amazing. Desert was sooo delicious. Like I said bring your appetite. Derbyshire is across from Frisco City Hall where there isn't too much parking directly in front of the building so plan to walk a bit. We had the Fish and Chips (substituted with French Fries) and it was delicious. The fish was perfectly battered and fried and the French Fries were thinly sliced and crispy. It was dead during lunchtime on a Tuesday so they definitely need more people stopping by. It seems like a casual place for a meet up and can accommodate large groups if necessary. read more

My wife and I split a full so we could get an appetizer and dessert. Next time I'm skipping the app and getting a full and a half because the dessert was good and deserves tummy space and the fish, more of it in my face. Far as the place goes it's cool. This bar advertises itself as a Chicago Bears bar. I was in town last weekend visiting family and decided to go to this bar to watch the Packers game with a group of six. We walked into the bar 90 minutes before kickoff and found a table in the middle of the bar that could accommodate our party and had good viewing of the screens. As we went to sit down, a man approached us and told us that the table we were sitting at was for some "regulars" and asked us to move. The table had no sign on it that it was reserved and this man did not identify himself as an owner or manager of the establishment. Choosing to take the high road, I moved our group to another table that could accommodate our party that was off to the side. Sure enough, the "regulars" came rolling in shortly before kickoff to their "unreserved" reserved table. This is just bad business. And discourages people who are not "regulars" from coming to the bar. I regularly attend a Chicago Bears bar in Los Angeles where I live and have never had such issues. There are no unspoken "reserved" tables for "regulars." It's completely first come, first serve as it should be. If you want your "regulars" to have their table waiting for them when they arrive, just stick a reserved sign on it. Or tell them to get there early. Not difficult. We also waited forever for our drinks while the "regulars" at their "unreserved" reserved table were kept fully stocked. The service and the food was mid anyway and not worth the price. Trust me, I picked up what you were laying down. We aren't regulars, so it's whatever. I won't be back. read more

This is a bar that serves poor food. I have been in many pubs and this is not one. The music was deafening and the "songs" were profane. There was a television tuned to a channel from India that was not playing sports. The bartenders were not interested in anyone that was not ordering their overpriced alcohol. read more

We went to the Derbyshire to play darts and hang out at a bar. This place was not a bar and their dartboard was kind of shitty but the food and the service was amazing. I'll go back... just not to play darts. I don't even understand why they have a dartboard. read more

Friendly pub experience. Our waiter Jackson was so amazing; he single-handedly took care of all the tables (inside and outside). Although he handled it so well, I would say that he definitely needs help. On Sundays, they show NFL games on TVs. Most impressive is the food! Fish and chips were delicious and the best in DFW. The London Pride beer was great, very smooth. Toffee pudding is a must try if you have a sweet tooth. They even decorated for Halloween with a British flair. Will be back for sure! read more

Like the atmosphere in here for the most part. Sometimes the music is meh but overall good atmosphere. Wouldn't go as far as calling it "authentic" but a great little pub. Does carry Fuller's London Pride and some other such as strong bow, Guinness as well as local beers. Service is okay. Gets your order and moves on and that's probably the most authentic British part. Food is okay. I got the kind club today as a half portion and it was very large. However cold meat and hot breast make a soggy sandwich. Deli meat is generic pre packaged like you'd get from grocery store and not a fresh shaven. Lettuce and tomato on sandwiches very fresh. The chips were cold and a little stale. After 1 hour, someone from the kitchen came out and told us they were out of bangers & mash, which is just sausage and potato. Did they run out of potato at 5pm? How can that happen? Couldn't they go to the store and buy more? The "royal with cheese" was missing the sauce and was overcooked, dry, and tasteless. Our waiter never came back so we couldn't get the missing sauce. After 1 hour and 15 minutes, our second appetizer came out. We had already finished eating and thought they forgot it. The bar was a little smaller than most, but the outside patio was very spacious and nice with tv & surround sound. I believe they have trivia nights on certain day from 7 PM to 9 PM. We stumbled on this restaurant in frisco square and it has the best atmosphere. It has a great bar with some booths too. Service was very attentive. We started with the hummus. It was served with tiny toasts but left us missing celery, carrots or pita. We probably would try another appetizer next time. We had the chicken sandwich and chips. The chips are fantastic. What a great addition to the square!!!! We stopped by here last evening and left extremely satisfied with our meal and drinks. For our drinks, I got a nice fresh pint of London Pride (a classic British lager) and my partner got an excellent cocktail named tea time with contained an earl grey simple syrup and tasted fantastic!!! For our appetizers, we opted for the derby fries and the Scottish eggs, I was a fan of the derby fries (the chips were crispy yet no greasy and the sauce was yummy) Unfortunately wasn't a huge fan of the Scottish (note the play on words) as I usually prefer a nice outer coating above the sausage and also an egg yolk that isn't fully fully cooked. For entrees, we opted for the full fish and chips and the bangers and mash. Both very good but the bangers and mash were the winner! Finally we ended the meal with a sticky toffee pudding which was also pretty good. So why the 4*? We'll after we sat down and made our drink orders, we waited close to 20'mins to get our drinks and at one point noticed our drinks including my beer was just waiting on the bar aisle to be delivered to us in addition to 3 other orders, so I literally walked over and served our table. Heads up, this is not family-friendly but more of a fun-looking bar. Our waiter did not come to our table once after the food was ordered even though it wasn't busy, and didn't bring ranch as ordered.
