Came here for an early dinner yesterday, and while I was disappointed there weren't any entree options for pescatarians or vegetarians, we really liked the appetizers and dessert we had! The cake was by far the best part of the meal, the homemade applesauce with it was so good. We loved how organically decorated the restaurant was, and the grounds outside looked ready for a great party. We didn't have a reservation but arrived at 4:3@ and were seated immediately.

Have had Far Out on my list of date nights for over a year now and my girlfriend and I were finally able to make it out. We were not disappointed. Started off the night with the mushroom croquetas which are locally sourced from a family in Rockwall. The orange sauce underneath was the standout and the dish had an excellent acidity to it. We then tried the duck salad which was my favorite of the night. The duck was tender and the pickled carrots mixed well with the savory taste. We finished with the pork shank pasta. I personally think the pasta was a little undercooked for my liking but it was still a good plate. The biggest highlight of the night I'd have to say were the drinks. Boom goes the dynamite is my pick but if you like sweeter get the velvet kashmire rita. Expect to pay $50-60 per person just fyi but worth it in my opinion for the ambiance alone.

My husband and I have been fans of Misti Norris since the Petra and the Beast days and we also really loved the Saint Valentine food experience we had last year, so when my out of town friend was coming into town for a Tuesday hockey game, we had to come and get, among other things, the pig tails. Unfortunately this particular night that dish was really tough and stringy, not like the pig tails we used to order at Petra; I figure it was maybe an off night because the other dishes we tried were quite excellent. We particularly enjoyed the white bean dip, the sweet potato textures, and the leek cauliflower gratin. The drinks we got at the bar were also great! Definitely want to come back here with my husband and see if the pigtails are more tender + try some of the other things on the menu.

On my last trip to Dallas, my friend made reservations at this amazing restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and seated at a cozy booth (five stars for that alone). Our server came by right away and offered to answer any questions about the menu. We ordered some delicious cocktails, and they were spot-on. The food arrived promptly. The dishes are on the smaller side (tapas-style), so we ordered three plates and one dessert to share between the two of us. We tried items No. 1, 6, 9, and 11, they were all beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Kudos to the chef and to the bar manager, Drew, for making the most amazing margaritas I've had in the past year. If you're in the area, this place is a must try!

Love this place! They have the best mocktails, cocktails and tapas style plates :) I always love popping in here to try out the new menu items. Can't go wrong with anything really.

Amazingggg vibes both inside and outside. I REALLY wish outdoor seating was available for food orders too and not just drinks. The bar spaces are as little crowded and the inside can get loud with all the conversations. Food was AMAZING! Drinks were strong.

Unfortunately the food did not "wow" me or my friend. Yes, the ingredients were fresh but that is about it. We ordered the entire menu minus the 2 chicken dinners. The menu is seasonal so we did not get a chance to taste the pasta. It seemed as if a lot of dishes were heavy cream based. Plus, I like a bit more flavor. I probably enjoyed the fried pig ear dish the most. My fish did enjoy the steak dish. The service was meh. We asked for the plates to be timed and they kept all coming at once. It was like they wanted to rush us out of the place. We had to say more than once to slow down and not bring 3 dishes at a time. Then we asked for the last dish and waiter asked if we still wanted it. Just strange Now the decor was very nice. It is relaxed and desert feel.

Finally got to try the food here and it was amazing! The duck confit salad, white bean dip and the steak were so good. I'll be dreaming about that white bean dip forever. They have a great soundtrack too. Very much a vibe.

This place would be perfect for a date night! I went on Saturday night and they did have about a 30 minute wait which isn't bad, but I will say they don't offer food services outside so felt that was a missed opportunity. Love the look of this restaurant. Literally felt like I stepped into a spot in the desert. So cute! Food was good. It was hot on Saturday and the inside wasn't super cool. Like it wasn't hot but definitely not heavy on the ac.

Wow, this place is in a random spot but the vibes are great. The setting is so well done and the service is great. The food though, that was gorgeous. I wasn't even hungry when I till got there but still ordered some tasty bites. I let the bartender make my drink selections and that was a good experience for sure.

I love the unique bunker structure and tranquil design of this incredibly delicious restaurant. If you're looking for something different and adventurous and, most importantly, guaranteed delectabilty, Far-Out will take care of you with every dish and every drink. The menu changes frequently so I cannot recommend a specific dish. I can only assure you that no matter what you order it is a guaranteed OMG reaction.

Feels like you're stepping right into Terlingua. There's ample outdoor seating with some tables and a bar inside. All the food and drinks we had were so good, I was a little surprised. The white bolognese is honestly to die for.

The vibe of this place is phenomenal! It reminds me of Austin with the classy, outdoorsy ambiance. The food + drinks were great. I like that it's a seasonal local menu however the prices were a bit much. The other con was that the tables are spaced very close together to other customers so everyone could easily hear the conversations around them. Overall: Great service, ambiance, + food but on the pricier side and close quarters

Limited menu and the air conditioning wasn't working well. The ambiance was nice however.

Came to celebrate a Birthday last night. We arrived early and didn't know a soul. Within minutes…read morethe owner, bartender and patrons invited us in. Don't let the dive bar ambiance scare you it's definitely the people and the vibe that keeps you here. We witnessed people from all walks of life from Tesla to bicycle singing and sharing moments that can't be duplicated. Had a blast and can't wait to go back!

This place should be kept a secret and limited to invitees only. I almost didn't want to review…read morefor that reason as I'm not sure everyone should check it out. It has a special, magical charm of the perfect dive bar. I'm ignoring my previous trip there as, well, I should not have brought that person to this place. This place is not for pretentious people. Thus I was at home at this spot. It looks camouflaged by plain wrapping with a boring exterior. Open the door and it is a world of more things to explore than you have time to. You are treated like family as a stranger. Be ready to be among people who want to know you. I guess I fit as some there knew my friends from other dive bars. I never realized how small the Dallas Dive bar world was. I have some cool friends. The music is good on the video jukebox. The tears came to my eyes as a few post 9/11 patriotic songs were played (I bleed Army green and so did some that didn't return home to their moms intact.) Glad none there saw my eyes or noticed my toast to my memories. The couple dancing on the next song made me feel more at home. Good thing a good 2 step or waltz never played or I might have had to find a partner. The decor is somewhat Green Bay Packer-ish. Okay, a lot of Green Bay love in the decor. Heh, yes, I still carry a grudge from the 1967 Ice Bowl as a life long Cowboy fan should! But, I respect a bar owner who has actual stock in his/her team and displays it proudly! So that adds another star or would that be Starr? The patrons make this one special. This is one of the great dive bars!
