What an amazing experience! This might my one of the top restaurants in Dallas for me. In relation to the food, everything was well thought out. Amazing blend of ingredients, textures and flavors. My favorite dish was the shrimp crudo! Service was good, a little lost at first. There wasn't a hostess at the time we arrived for our reservation and they didn't seem to know what to do lol, but other than that it was okay. The food stood out so much to me that this wasn't a huge deal. Ambiance is so nice too. It gives me Austin vibes, kind of like a modern desert decor and a beautiful venue with high ceilings.

Far Out totally lived up to the hype! Everything is made fresh to order and you can taste the difference. We started with the Melted Leek and Cauliflower Gratin to share; the sherry pickled cauliflower and mushroom XO gave it such a savory depth, and the house focaccia was perfect for scooping up every last bit. For entrees, I had the Tagliatelle Wagyu Sugo Bianco, which was so flavorful and the toasted pecan crunch added the best unexpected crunchy texture. My mom and sister split the Texas Chuck Flap and the Texas Sweet Potato Textures, and they said both were delicious. To drink, we went the mocktail route my sister and I ordered the Garden Party, which was so tasty and refreshing. My mom ordered the Root & Remedy and said it tasted kind of earthy and bright. We saved room for dessert and I'm soo glad we did. The Texas Olive Oil Cake with caramelized apple was cozy and comforting, and the Chocolate Texas Pecan and Mushroom Dacquoise was unlike anything I've had! The smoked mushroom chocolate oil sounds unexpected, but it works so well and doesn't even taste like mushrooms. It's just so delicious! Great food, creative menu, and Texas ingredients shining throughout. Will absolutely be back!

Have had Far Out on my list of date nights for over a year now and my girlfriend and I were finally able to make it out. We were not disappointed. Started off the night with the mushroom croquetas which are locally sourced from a family in Rockwall. The orange sauce underneath was the standout and the dish had an excellent acidity to it. We then tried the duck salad which was my favorite of the night. The duck was tender and the pickled carrots mixed well with the savory taste. We finished with the pork shank pasta. I personally think the pasta was a little undercooked for my liking but it was still a good plate. The biggest highlight of the night I'd have to say were the drinks. Boom goes the dynamite is my pick but if you like sweeter get the velvet kashmire rita. Expect to pay $50-60 per person just fyi but worth it in my opinion for the ambiance alone.

Came here for an early dinner yesterday, and while I was disappointed there weren't any entree options for pescatarians or vegetarians, we really liked the appetizers and dessert we had! The cake was by far the best part of the meal, the homemade applesauce with it was so good. We loved how organically decorated the restaurant was, and the grounds outside looked ready for a great party. We didn't have a reservation but arrived at 4:3@ and were seated immediately.

I've been to FarOut a dozen times and have never been disappointed. The food menu rotates seasonally for optimal quality and nutrition. In fact, not one ingredient is sourced from over 50miles away. I think a lot of restaurants claim to be "farm to table" but few actually are. Far Out even has a small garden in the back for herbs and veggies. The feeling you get when you're at FarOut is like you're on vacation, like you're not in Dallas, like you're at a retreat in New Mexico. The building used to be an old military hanger which is where they get their iconic domed ceiling. I know I can always count on the host greeting you right at the door, food coming out at a reasonable time, and water being refilled before having to ask. When I want to impress out of town guests, this is where I take them. Also, check their Instagram for live music on Thursdays!

On my last trip to Dallas, my friend made reservations at this amazing restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and seated at a cozy booth (five stars for that alone). Our server came by right away and offered to answer any questions about the menu. We ordered some delicious cocktails, and they were spot-on. The food arrived promptly. The dishes are on the smaller side (tapas-style), so we ordered three plates and one dessert to share between the two of us. We tried items No. 1, 6, 9, and 11, they were all beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Kudos to the chef and to the bar manager, Drew, for making the most amazing margaritas I've had in the past year. If you're in the area, this place is a must try!

My husband and I have been fans of Misti Norris since the Petra and the Beast days and we also really loved the Saint Valentine food experience we had last year, so when my out of town friend was coming into town for a Tuesday hockey game, we had to come and get, among other things, the pig tails. Unfortunately this particular night that dish was really tough and stringy, not like the pig tails we used to order at Petra; I figure it was maybe an off night because the other dishes we tried were quite excellent. We particularly enjoyed the white bean dip, the sweet potato textures, and the leek cauliflower gratin. The drinks we got at the bar were also great! Definitely want to come back here with my husband and see if the pigtails are more tender + try some of the other things on the menu.

Unfortunately the food did not "wow" me or my friend. Yes, the ingredients were fresh but that is about it. We ordered the entire menu minus the 2 chicken dinners. The menu is seasonal so we did not get a chance to taste the pasta. It seemed as if a lot of dishes were heavy cream based. Plus, I like a bit more flavor. I probably enjoyed the fried pig ear dish the most. My fish did enjoy the steak dish. The service was meh. We asked for the plates to be timed and they kept all coming at once. It was like they wanted to rush us out of the place. We had to say more than once to slow down and not bring 3 dishes at a time. Then we asked for the last dish and waiter asked if we still wanted it. Just strange Now the decor was very nice. It is relaxed and desert feel.

Finally got to try the food here and it was amazing! The duck confit salad, white bean dip and the steak were so good. I'll be dreaming about that white bean dip forever. They have a great soundtrack too. Very much a vibe.

Wow, this place is in a random spot but the vibes are great. The setting is so well done and the service is great. The food though, that was gorgeous. I wasn't even hungry when I till got there but still ordered some tasty bites. I let the bartender make my drink selections and that was a good experience for sure.

Amazingggg vibes both inside and outside. I REALLY wish outdoor seating was available for food orders too and not just drinks. The bar spaces are as little crowded and the inside can get loud with all the conversations. Food was AMAZING! Drinks were strong.

I love the unique bunker structure and tranquil design of this incredibly delicious restaurant. If you're looking for something different and adventurous and, most importantly, guaranteed delectabilty, Far-Out will take care of you with every dish and every drink. The menu changes frequently so I cannot recommend a specific dish. I can only assure you that no matter what you order it is a guaranteed OMG reaction.

This place would be perfect for a date night! I went on Saturday night and they did have about a 30 minute wait which isn't bad, but I will say they don't offer food services outside so felt that was a missed opportunity. Love the look of this restaurant. Literally felt like I stepped into a spot in the desert. So cute! Food was good. It was hot on Saturday and the inside wasn't super cool. Like it wasn't hot but definitely not heavy on the ac.

The service was just ok. I've enjoyed fine Dallas dining and eschewed bad since 1985. The glitz was fine, but the food left one wanting.

He literally told me, "If a drop of rain comes, then I'll give it to you." It had rained for much of the day, and multiple customers were asking about the same promotion. If the requirement is that rain must physically be falling while you order, that needs to be clearly stated in the advertisement. Otherwise, the promotion feels misleading. I've been to Parliament several times and have never had a bartender interpret the rainy-day happy hour this way. I ended up ordering a smoked Old Fashioned from another bartender I've had before, and it was great. He was friendly, engaging, had great energy, and even did tricks while making the drink. I still enjoyed my cocktail, but it would've been nice to have the option to order from the happy-hour menu as advertised that day. I'm including the Instagram post for reference. I'm very disappointed as I've never not had a good time at Parliament. I really think that the owner should look at the Times stamps around 930 to 10:15pm part night and see the difference of business and traffic flow from when the taller bartender with the glasses versus the shorter Bartender with the glasses was at the front as it was instantly more business. Oh and lastly, I left my Betsy JOHNSON purple umbrella. I'm so sad and they don't have a number to call.

It has a special, magical charm of the perfect dive bar. I'm ignoring my previous trip there as, well, I should not have brought that person to this place. This place is not for pretentious people. Thus I was at home at this spot. It looks camouflaged by plain wrapping with a boring exterior. Open the door and it is a world of more things to explore than you have time to. You are treated like family as a stranger. Be ready to be among people who want to know you. I guess I fit as some there knew my friends from other dive bars. I never realized how small the Dallas Dive bar world was. I have some cool friends. The music is good on the video jukebox. The tears came to my eyes as a few post 9/11 patriotic songs were played (I bleed Army green and so did some that didn't return home to their moms intact.) Glad none there saw my eyes or noticed my toast to my memories. The couple dancing on the next song made me feel more at home. Good thing a good 2 step or waltz never played or I might have had to find a partner. The decor is somewhat Green Bay Packer-ish. Okay, a lot of Green Bay love in the decor. Heh, yes, I still carry a grudge from the 1967 Ice Bowl as a life long Cowboy fan should! But, I respect a bar owner who has actual stock in his/her team and displays it proudly! So that adds another star or would that be Starr? The patrons make this one special. This is one of the great dive bars!
