Birdies is not what I expected, but I truly enjoyed my experience. Upon walking in you walk past the large outdoor dining and patio area. The colors are vibrant and bright. On a cool day outside it would be a great place to sit and relax while drinking cocktails. On a hot day in Texas you will definitely want to sit inside and enjoy the air conditioning. The inside of the restaurant is huge. They have tables and oversized booths. The atmosphere is buzzing with energy. It gets pretty crowded on Sundays for brunch. It's not a fancy place, but has a good vibe and simple decor. My waiter was pleasant and helpful. The hostess that greeted me was friendly. The menu is simple and not overly complex. The food is good and well seasoned. The hamburger sliders and waffle fries presentation is great. It was so cute and on point. The flavor on the burger is amazing. The pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard and 1000 island dressing are the perfect combination of flavors. The waffle fries were good, but needed to be hotter. Next time I will make sure I have hot fries. The mimosas were delicious. They offer a variety of flavors. I chose blood orange and enjoyed it. The soft serve margarita is a NO for me. We took my father-in-law here because we've had very pleasant experiences in the past, but unfortunately this visit was incredibly disappointing. Despite the restaurant not being busy, we waited over 15 minutes without anyone coming to our table to greet us, offer water, or even acknowledge us. Our server only made his way over after my husband got up to ask if we even had a server. It almost felt as though he intentionally waited until we sought assistance. When he finally arrived, he seemed completely uninterested in being there. His uniform was noticeably dirty, and there was little enthusiasm or attentiveness throughout our meal. The flies inside the restaurant were terrible. We noticed other guests being provided with the fly-repellent fans, but our server never offered them to us. When we asked, we were told they didn't have any available because they were all being used outside. As for the food, it was mostly just okay. The famous Caesar salad wrap was very underwhelming, the fries arrived cold, and honestly, the tomato soup was the only standout item. Given the poor service, we closed our tab as soon as we finished eating because we were eager to leave. Ironically, we moved outside afterward for drinks, and that experience was so much better than our lunch experience. It was disappointing because we know this restaurant is capable of providing a great experience based on previous visits. First thing first, I love that they have ample parking. They have patio seating, and the inside is spacious. I came here for HH and ended up staying for reverse HH, while catching the game. It's a great family and friends atmosphere. The service was great and the food was amazing. My friend and I came to birdie's eastside for apps and drinks on a Wednesday night and when we got there, we only had to wait 5 minutes for a table which was great! It was pretty busy for later on a weekday night but the noise wasn't bad and we could yap. I ordered the wonton tacos as my main and they were delicious. We also got those trendy soft serve swirl margs and they were perfect. 100% would come back just for those, but I will be back to try other things on the menu. Me and my friend both had the Sauvignon blanc slushie and it was phenomenal!! She got the salmon and rice and said it was super flavorful and cooked perfectly. There is a mix of booths, high top tables as well as low tables as well. Many families could be seen at the outside patio with kids playing in some of their open areas. We chose to sit inside and it was lively with music playing and conversations. I was able to hear the friends sitting next to me but was unable to hear other conversations in our group of 9. We had a choice of brunch and lunch items. I had the brisket tacos and a frozen Bellini. Both items were very good. You could tell the tortillas were fresh made which is always nice. Our group ended up sharing two desserts. One was an upside down pineapple cake and the other was a s'mores cake. Both were very good. Birdie's is a place I would bring friends for a casual meal and drinks. It has a lively atmosphere that puts one in vacation mode. Service was friendly and our group was not rushed through the meal. We absolutely love Birdies! We came here last weekend and had such a great experience that we couldn't wait to come back. This visit, I ordered the Vegan Harvest Bowl again because I loved it so much the first time. Unfortunately, it came out extremely salty. But what really impressed me was how the staff handled the situation. Our waitress, Olivia, was incredibly attentive and kind. She immediately took care of it and asked the chef to prepare a fresh bowl for me. The replacement was absolutely perfect! To top it off, the manager came over personally to apologize and made sure we were taken care of. They didn't charge me for either bowl and even treated me to two complimentary drinks. This was my second time visiting Birdie's Eastside and my first time trying their brunch! My family and I were pleasantly surprised that there was no wait for a table for four on a Sunday at 10:30 AM -- which, as many brunch-goers know, is no small feat. However, by the time we left around 11:30, it started to get crowded! I like to describe Birdie's as the more adult-friendly, upscale version of Katy Trail Ice House. It's the perfect spot to catch a game, bring your family or dog, or sit outside and enjoy a great meal in beautiful weather (there's plenty of indoor seating too). We started brunch with the Caesar deviled eggs, and I was honestly shocked by how much they captured the flavor of a Caesar salad -- these were a hit with everyone at the table. For my entrée, I went with the steak and eggs, a brunch classic. The dish itself was solid, but the real standout was the crispy, perfectly salty potatoes that came with it -- they were easily my favorite part of the meal. The only downside to our visit was the service. Despite the restaurant being fairly empty when our food arrived, our waitress didn't check in to see if everything came out correctly. After about 10 minutes, we finally flagged her down to ask for ketchup for the potatoes, which took another 10 minutes to arrive -- and she only brought one small cup for the entire table. We ended up having to flag down another waiter for more. Overall, though, Birdie's Eastside remains a great spot: delicious food, relaxed atmosphere, and a setting that makes it easy to enjoy time with family or friends. As an entree I wanted to try something different and picked Chicken & Waffle tacos. It comes with popcorn chicken, sausage gravy which I got on the side, and syrup. The shell is actually the waffle. The sausage gravy was really good. Not sure about these two actually going together though. Overall, there is some other menu options I definitely wanted to try. This place was fun; my neighbor and I went here. It was our first time, and they have a nice open patio area. They also have a cocktail area for 21 and up. When we went, it was kid-friendly; there were lots of kids and families because they were having a Mavericks night, so families could enjoy it. It's great that they also have a separate cocktail lounge for adults only, which is pretty cool. Besides that, they have a great full bar both outside and inside, which is fun. We sat at the bar, enjoyed ourselves, and had a good time. There are plenty of TVs for games and sports. We didn't try the food, as we were just there for drinks, but the service was pretty good. The bartenders were attentive, and I definitely need to go back to try the food. I think it's a great spot for family fun if you have kids, but it's also good for adults because of the separate cocktail lounge.
