Boulevardier
Adriana F.

Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar - Comfort, Cocktails, and a Sweet Finish A quick stop in Fort Worth to visit friends during our six-week road trip led us here, and it turned into one of those "glad we chose this place" kind of nights. The space is large, comfortable, and full of life, even on a Wednesday evening. There are cozy sofa corners if you want something a little more intimate, plus an outdoor area that's "outside"... but not too outside, which honestly feels like a win. Drinks were a highlight. My boulevardier was spot on, and then I shared a smoked Old Fashioned with my friend that was just... exquisite. Smooth, balanced, and a little dramatic in the best way. Food held its own. The chicken and waffles were delicious, the chopped chicken salad was fresh and satisfying, and my friend's Reuben got a lot of love from her side of the table. And then came dessert. We shared the Whiskey Cake with praline ice cream, and let's just say, it lives up to the name. Decadent, rich, and absolutely worth it. Service was really good. Attentive without hovering, and thoughtful in those small ways that stand out. At one point, our server split the Old Fashioned for us without us even asking. That kind of anticipation earns points. This is the kind of place you return to when you're back in town. Comfortable, reliable, and just indulgent enough to feel like a treat.

Steak tips with fries (included). $30 or so. January 2026

Not my first time at Whiskey Cake. But don't think I've ever had dinner here. BUSY on a weeknight, but looks like mainly company hosted guests. Got the steak tips (can't remember the exact wording) - medium rare. A little over $30. comes with fries, some peppers. It was good but don't think it was anything out of the world. It was pretty filling with the fries. Standard entree at an American restaurant. The whiskey cake! It was moist! I don't know if I tasted the whiskey exactly, but a little.

Fantastic happy hour! There is a Whiskey Cake in Jacksonville so visiting one and another city wasn't top of my list however on Cinco de Mayo when the Mexican restaurant next-door is over a two hour wait I figured I'd stop in to Whiskey Cake for a margarita. I am so glad I stopped in the happy hour was happening and so I was able to grab a seat at the bar and get a margarita for $7!!! Well if I'm being honest, technically I got two margaritas for that price! The service was wonderful. I came about 15 minutes before happy hour was over and the server came around and double checked on everyone in her section prior to happy hour being over and let them know it was coming close to being over so we could put our last orders in! Well, I might not have gotten the quesadilla. I want it. I am really happy that I was able to get a margarita on Cinco de Mayo thank you Whiskey Cake!

I like the farm to table concept at this restaurant so I stopped and ate dinner here with a few buddies prior to a concert at Toyota Music Factory. I ordered the Ruben and it came on local marbled rye bread- always nice to have homemade bread not full of preservatives and other garbage for your body. Bread was thick and flavorful and the sandwich was topped with pastrami, cheese, sauerkraut and Russian dressing just like a proper Ruben should be. The sauerkraut dressing mix was decent and cheese was melted as I would expect on a Ruben. Pastrami had great flavor, my only mild complaint is that I like my sandwich liked a little higher than what I got there, but that's just me being picky. The sandwich was served with hand cut fries- they were great! I washed it down with a couple of glasses of Pinot and then was ready to go to the concert. Our server was friendly and took great care of us. Good spot for some grub and they have a large whiskey selection if you're into that type of thing.

Great service from start to finish. The chicken and waffles were delicious and definitely a standout dish. Everything came out well prepared and flavorful. One thing to note: they only offer regular coffee, so don't expect specialty or fancy coffee drinks. Overall, a solid experience with good food and attentive service. Would come back.

Super fun atmosphere. We had a business dinner with 12 people. The waiter, Riley, was so attentive and friendly and his recommendations were spot on.. I ordered the steak salad and the steak was cooked perfect. Plate presentation was excellent. Everyone was super happy with their selections. You can't go wrong with anything in the menu.

Ok so boom, the Vibes were Vibin!! After a super lame experience at another restaurant friends and I came here to celebrate for my birthday and let me just say the hostess heard birthday and before we were even seated there was a birthday greeting card posted at our table!! Yesss! Then our waiter was chill, funny and knew what was actually good! Then that bar and the whiskey options say less!!! I am an old fashioned type of girl & the smoked old fashioned here was it!! Great place for food, drinks, photos and vibes! Highly recommend and I will be back!!

Met up with some friends here for dinner and it was popping! I've never seen a place so busy on a Tuesday. Great atmosphere. We checked in with the hostess and were warmly greeted and seated right away. They have happy hour from 3-6pm with specials on drinks and bar bites, so right away we put in an order for a couple of drinks and the tater tots. We also got the Brussels sprouts. For my main, I ordered the steak frites and subbed the fries for the Cajun butter potatoes. I also got the happy hour old fashioned and an espresso martini. The steak was good, and although I didn't taste much of a Cajun flavor on the potatoes, I liked how they were cooked. The Brussels sprouts are amazing, highly recommend. I also enjoyed my drinks. I was so full after my meal that I didn't have room for dessert, but I would love to try the whiskey cake next time.

I visited Whiskey Cake for a birthday celebration and it was such a great time! The ambience was nice, the lights were dim but it wasn't too dark to see and I loved the eclectic design of the restaurant. Our server Francisco was so kind, attentive, and gracious even when we asked him to take pictures of us after our meal. The food was great I got a Chicken Melt which was delicious! I'll definitely be back.

I am a believer! Everything we got was so sell executed, i wash blown away at the quality for a chain. The salad was fresh and bursting with flavor. The spinach artichoke dip was tasty and i dont even usually like that as a dish, but i did here! Half chicken was beautifully plated and really tasty. Crispy taters were a hit, and a stand out. They did everything right here. Decor is so super cute, the type of place you want to spend a weekend afternoon. Server was a sweetheart and did a great job. Easy 5 stars.

I've visited Whiskey cake in Houston before and it was decent food for a chain. My friend and I were intown and decided to try it out. Well they redid their whole menu anddd the choices are even more limited for a pescatarian... Seeing as how I only eat seafood I ordered items off the app menu and a battered fish filet. Ummmm I didn't like either fried fish at all. They definitely use old grease and the batter is just too thick. The deviled eggs were really good and my beverage was just okay. Now the belle of the ball was the whiskey cake! Plus the ice cream. Ya can't really miss with dessert. Also our waiter was really good and friendly!

We love this place. Very trendy can feel intimate for a date so even for a group or celebration. Very clean well maintained place. Staff is always excellent. If you come here please try the whisky cake it's phenomenal. We love coming here for the cake alone.

Is there a HH? If so what are the days/times and discount? TIA

Is there a party room?

They have room that can be used for large parties.

Is Happy Hour still happening on Fridays? I've seen some comments it is not. Just want to confirm.

No.

What's the best seating area, High top, inside or patio?

That's a matter of preference.

Are masks being required? And is this place kid friendly?

When I went in early November, masks were not required, only recommended.

Should I make a reservation or would I be able to walk in and get a table (dinner time)? EDIT:…

You can make a reservation for convenience and to ensure you have a space! However, when I went, there was no need for one.

Do they offer wifi?

Yes, they do. We were there just last week

Are you open on New Years Day?

Yes why wouldn't they be.

Do you have vegetarian-friendly patties for your burgers?

Yes! We have the beyond meat burger.

Is there a time that brunch ends on Sundays or do they serve the full menu all day?

Hello Bree! Brunch ends at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays but we are able to execute a few of the item's all the time. Feel free to email me at tj.staples@whiskey-cake.com if you have any other questions. Thank you! TJ Staples Managing Partner

Do they allow dogs in the patio area? Trying to find a decent restaurant allowing furry friends :)

I don't think so go to Lazy Dog in Colleyville instead.

Do they have many TVs? Looking for a good dinner/football watching spot 🏈

Like the others have mentioned... Its really a gathering spot vs. sports bar... They have a couple of TVs at the bar... I believe from what I remember those are the only ones. So you will most likely have a good dinner, but that is about it... it… Read more

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Tupelo Honey is a stand-alone restaurant conveniently located near Hwy 114 and 161. There's plenty of parking, outdoor seating, and a mixture of tables, booths, and bar seating. Speaking of the bar, it acts as a beautiful backdrop for the entire restaurant. 1 Star. Service - The service is always friendly. Our server is always smiling, and I can't help but feel welcome with southern charm. Tupelo Honey trains its staff well, and I really enjoy coming here and interacting with the staff. 1 Star. Food - I always begin with the Biscuits with a Cause. These light, flakey biscuits are served warm with a crispy exterior and soft, flakey inside. But honestly, the biscuits act as a delivery mechanism for the butter and blue berry jam. I always ask for an extra side of butter and jam because I use it all. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Honey Dusted Fried Chicken (dark). The chicken was perfectly fried, crispy, and sweet. And the dark meat was juicy. Pro Tips - use your hands. Another great dish was experienced. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I have yet to have a below average dish at Tupelo Honey. Yes, it's a chain. But it's also a darn good chain that keeps its menu fresh and is worth multiple visits. 1 Star.

They did seem a little busy and I believe there may have been a shift change at some point. It took us 15 mins to get a table outside. I will add the wait time is the only bummer in my experience. It took a good minute to get our beverages and food. There was a crowd but it seemed to be in and out pretty quicky. The food was great! I ordered their sangria, very refreshing and not overly sweet. Southern shakshuka. $15.99 two eggs* baked in a tomato, spinach, & peperonata sauce, over stone-ground goat cheese grits, topped with basil (710 cal) - This combo was good, loved the creaminess and even had leftovers for the next day. Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken & Waffles $16.99 Hand-breaded crispy chicken tenders drizzled with sriracha honey, served over golden buttermilk waffles. --enjoyed the Spiciness it truly was subtle but did grow as you continued to eat. The buttermilk Waffles were fluffy and light and full bite with the drizzled syrup was everything. Enjoyed the flavors of the whiskey flight and happy you have the flavor cards to be able to give the tasting a proper review. Over all price is average in comparison but the food quality is there so I have no issue spending an extra dollar or so. I would like to stop by again when it's less busy.

We've been here probably close to ten times now, and it remains a fantastic upscale spot with a welcoming, local feel. We kicked things off with cocktails--I highly recommend their Old Fashioned (made with rye whiskey) and my husband's Gin and Tonic. Both were balanced and expertly crafted. One of my favorite things about Victor's is their nightly off-menu specials. They are always seasonal and creative. I tried the Avocado Salad from the specials menu, and it was a 10/10--super fresh, perfect dressing, and they definitely didn't skimp on the avocado! My husband went with the Bistro Salad, which is a consistent winner every time. For my main, I ordered the Southern Catfish. The fish was cooked perfectly, and I absolutely loved the Frank's Red Hot butter sauce paired with the collard greens--the flavors complemented everything beautifully. My husband had the Meatloaf, and he swears it is his favorite restaurant meatloaf of all time. It was great as always and is clearly a staple for a reason! The service was top-notch, which we've come to expect here. It's rare to find a place that maintains this level of quality every single time you visit. We've lost count of how many times we've been back, but we're already looking forward to the next one. Highly recommend!

I'm writing this review in March when the Texas weather is beautiful. While the inside of Pacific Table is elegant with blue booths and white tablecloths, the outdoor seating next to Lake Carolyn creates a view that's almost impossible to find in DFW: fine dining by the water. 1 Star. Service - The service is great. Our server was attentive, helpful, and best of all shared the special of the day. I always ask my server because when they recommend an excellent dish, it means the restaurant puts in the effort to enable them. Mission accomplished. 1 Star. Food - I went with Pacific Table's special of the day: blackened redfish with creole sauce and a vegetable. WOW. This dish was a homerun. The fish was tender, well-seasoned, and the sauce added a creamy component that reminded me of the bayou. As a bonus, my sauteed spinach that I chose as my side was equally delicious. If I wasn't dining in public, I would have licked my plate. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Every time I eat at Pacific Table, I try something new and am pleasantly surprised.
