While the price is a little steep for breakfast fare, you get your money's worth. I ordered the southwestern omelette and my partner ordered the chicken fried steak. My omelette was immense and full of flavorful ingredients. The side of hash browns were perfectly cooked and seasoned, I don't think I've ever had better. My partner's chicken fried steak was much better than we expected. Firstly, it was massive, demanding its own plate. Secondly, it was covered in exceptional sausage gravy, which was a delight as chicken fried steak usually comes with bland cream gravy. I won't lie--I saw the menu prices and came in fully prepared to roast it a bit, since the prices are a bit higher than the brunch place average. But I was humbled when we actually received our food. First, I got the orange juice purely because I could actually see the machine that was making it with fresh oranges and not "fresh squeezed" Minute Maid. Green flag #1! Second, my country fried steak meal was HUGE. The steak was the size of my face, no joke, and covered in delightful sausage gravy instead of just white gravy. Best chicken fried steak I've had at a brunch place in ages. The eggs and hash browns were cooked so well. I didn't even make it to my pancakes. Bf got a southern omelette and seemed to really enjoy it. His meal was ALSO huge. The value for money here is insane, either of our meals could've easily been split. Since my last visit, the menu had been updated with several new items. As I am fond of Belgian Liege waffles, I ordered Pearl Sugar Stack, a newly added item. Similar to my previous visit, I was again surprised to be asked if I wanted toast or pancakes. I opted for sourdough toast as pancakes and waffles would be too much food. For my second side, I chose fruit rather than hash browns. Being mostly comprised of melons rather than grapes was a pleasant surprise. I requested the eggs to be cooked over-medium. If I had chosen over-hard, the Pearl Sugar Stack could have been eaten without utensils. It was served without syrup as none was necessary. The embedded pearl sugar provided sufficient sweetness. The runny yolk acted as a suitable substitute for the lack of syrup. Finally, the coffee tasted very pleasing. Before I left, I made sure to have a second cup. read more

This place felt like a straight-up rip-off. For $15, my boyfriend ordered The Iron Man, which came out looking like a literal teacup worth of food. The portion was laughably small and somehow still bland, which is almost impressive in the worst way. I ordered The Avo Everything, and I genuinely don't know how you make avocado taste sour, but they managed it. Nothing tasted fresh, nothing tasted exciting, and nothing justified the price. The only redeeming part of the experience was our waitress, who was kind and attentive and honestly deserved better than the food she was serving. Went on Labor Day around noon, and it wasn't too bad of a crowd. The restaurant had a nice aesthetic and pretty modern. You definitely get a bang for your buck here. This place used to be a local Deliman when I was in high school. I was intrigued to find out it has become a breakfast cafe now. I'm not sure if it the same owner though. They definitely improved the interior and added a nice small bar. Food tasted just as great as it did when it was Deliman. I tried the blue berry danish pancakes and a Florentine omelette. The pancakes were big and filling and the omelette came with a nice side of hash browns. My wife had chicken and waffles and enjoyed them. Wanting to go to Hemingway Brunch, but want to beat the lines and the people, I've got the place just for you. This place is located right off the northern end of the Denton Tap just before the Sam Rayburn Tollway, across a bridge -- deep in the heart of Coppell. If you're looking forward to mimosas during brunch and omelettes and spilling the queer tea, then this place might just be it for you. The grandeur and chic atmosphere gives this place a brand new meaning to having brunch with your friends -- from near and afar. In this sense, I would've been the one that came from afar. There was barely any wait -- in fact, we were seated immediately. The wait wasn't long until we were asked about what drinks we wanted to start with, and which entrees we wanted to go with. I opted in for an English Breakfast tea option -- of which it was prepared the British way with a kettle and milk on the side. I found that to be surprising because sometimes, a lot of Then came the brunch entrees -- I opted for a Florentine omelette with goat cheese and lettuce, and hashbrowns. The hash brown texture was just right, and the goat cheese was very much spread out throughout the omelette. What made this stop unique was the way the hospitality portion of it played out -- this place cannot match unlike any other brunch place -- they checked up on us very often, making sure that our experience was top notch and never a bad one at any point given in time. I'll definitely be back here soon to try more, of course, when I'm in town. If ever you're trying to find a brunch spot that won't break your bank, yet don't want to drive out of the city of limits of Coppell, then the Double Yolk Cafe may just be the one spot for you, your friends, or both! read more

Ashlyn assisted us and took us to a table as soon as we walked in. We were able to get our order in quickly and food came shortly afterwards. My chicken tenderloin was somewhat overcooked, but still good. I live almost 50 minutes away in Ft Worth, but came across some bad traffic just to try more dishes here. I had a terrible second visit to Double Yolk Cafe. The main issue was that Double Yolk was unable to make pancakes correctly for us, and we tried three times. The first time the pancakes were overcooked. The second two times they had raw batter inside. Pancakes should be a staple of any breakfast place like Double Yolk so this was very discouraging. To add to the issue, I ordered these pancakes to give to my toddler son who is allergic to raw eggs but not cooked eggs. This means if he eats raw pancake batter, it could be dangerous for him, but cooked pancakes are okay. If I had given him the pancakes without checking for raw batter, he could have had an allergic reaction. We informed the manager about the issue and fortunately she was receptive to hearing these issues and comped our meal. After receiving our third batch of inedible pancakes, we left without finishing our meal as it was a waste of time for us. The other issue was that I ordered the "DY Bites" for breakfast, one of their specials described as "english muffin halves topped with" eggs and breakfast meat of your choice. I thought this would be an open faced sandwich similar to eggs benedict but a little different, perhaps with some sauce. What I got was two english muffin breakfast sandwiches with no sauce. It was dry and unappetizing. I was surprised they consider this one of their "specials" and the description was misleading. If it's a breakfast sandwich, call it an english muffin breakfast sandwich. I hope they take this off the menu honestly or downsize it to one sandwich along with the price. I also noticed that on my first visit they included a carafe of coffee on the table, on my second visit they did not so it was disappointing to see the downgrade in service. read more

We ordered the breakfast sandwich and it arrived cold--the eggs were cold as well--and what used to be very generous portions are now noticeably small. Another guest in our party ordered biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was not split or served open-faced and was only lightly covered with a very small amount of gravy. The service was also disappointing. We were left with empty glasses for more than five minutes multiple times and even had to flag down the waitress for attention. I was never offered a coffee refill. To make matters worse, the prices have increased significantly since our last visit, while both food quality and service have declined. There are far better breakfast options in Coppell. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. read more

My wife had the southwest Benedict which she said was excellent and the eggs cooked perfect. I had the corned beef hash with over easy eggs and a side of pancakes. I loved corned beef hash and judge a place that serves it and I will say it is one of the best I've had. The corned beef was fresh, not canned, and cut into large chunks. The pancakes had a good flavor but just a bit too chewy for me. I did feel it was a bit expensive (our meals + $5 apple juice + $4 coffee + tax & tip was $56) but it is quality food. My family and I were in the area after church and decided to stop in for a meal after reading some of the yelp reviews before heading home. The establishment outside was nice enough and had decent parking in the area. The inside was nicely decorated, had plenty of seating, and included what appeared to be a bar for morning cocktails. Pretty cool, but not for everyone I suppose. The place was PACKED with people, which was to be expected with the limited dining options in the Coppell area. In spite of this fact, we were seated rather quickly which was nice. Our waters were dropped at the table as soon as we were seated which was also another pleasant surprise. We met our waitress with the dirty blonde streaked hair and arm tattoos. This server really didn't have much personality and seemed just a tad bothered to be working. Almost as if this server was hung over and just ready to go home. Our orders were taken, but come to think of it, I don't believe the server ever came back after this except for when we flagged down the check. Meh, bad days happen to the best of us. The music was absurdly loud making conversation even at your table difficult. It should be noted that the music was from the electronic dance music genre a cross between something one would hear at a club/rave. Nothing "easy" about Sunday mornings here. Our orders came out quick, but were all incorrect. The food was decent for the area, but all dishes were severally lacking in salt and just general flavor. Prices are hilariously overpriced especially when you're asking $5 for 4 oz of apple juice with no refills. We might be in a recession, but no need to price gouge. Unfortunately, this establishments front of house staff desperately need more training to be better equipped with handling large breakfast/linch rushes. It all seemed highly unorganized. We consistently needed to ask the hostesses for things that should have been done when as guests are seated. Our table was dirty and needed to be wiped down, which we did ourselves. Actually, we had to get up and ask for everything ourselves. When we got our food, we had no silverware to eat with and had to get up and ask the staff. When we got our drinks, but had to get up to ask for straws. We needed a high chair and had to grab it ourselves and carry it to our table. Just poor management over a staff that seemed to be over worked and/or inexperienced. When we did finally get around to paying the bill, it didn't give us an option to change the tip percentages to leave a custom. Terrible. And you have to tip with the waiter/waitress looking right at you so you feel pressure to press one of the available tip options over being able to work that out at your leisure. Lastly, this place practically pushes you out the door before you've finished eating. I understand this is sometimes necessary when it's super busy and you need to mitigate a large collective of people waiting to be seated, but don't ignore patrons to accomplish this. You can still be attentive and respectful of your current guests while respecting those waiting to be seated. Overall, a bad time here and we won't be coming back. read more

Our drinks were really good, they do have mimosas and other alcoholic beverages. We wanted a sweet and savory combo so we got the chicken and waffles. Boy as soon as I saw the chicken I wanted to return it - they were overcooked or overfried, we had such a hard time cutting into it. The waffles were nice and fluffy though. Had the best breakfast burrito here - perfectly cooked and was huge for the price. My girlfriend got the oreo crepes which were fluffy and loaded with oreo goodness. Hash browns were crispy, coffee was strong, and they kept refilling it without us asking. Service was great too. Decided to take myself out to breakfast at this new spot that just opened up. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and it came with fruit or hashbrowns, 2 eggs and pancakes or toast. I didn't order the pancakes or toast because I saw the size of the portions at the table next to me and knew I couldn't eat that much. The biscuits were huge and came on their own plate. The eggs and hashbrowns were on another plate. I don't know how I would have even attempted the pancakes or toast! Seriously, it was enough for 3 people. Needless to say, I took a lot home. Absolutely amazing! I opened up my DoorDash this morning to order some breakfast. Right away I noticed Double Yolk Cafe and had to try it. Everything on the menu looked and sounded delicious. My husband went for the hangover. I picked the veggie skillet. We ordered kids chicken tenders and fries for my pup. I kid you not the food showed up to my doorstep within 10-15 minutes. I was so shocked! The order was delivered perfectly. They provided all the condiments and utensils. I'm still in shock. I've never had a DoorDash deliver that fast and without any mistakes. The portions are ginormous! The chicken tenders were really good. My pup ate them up. They were on sweet side which was different and I loved it. The hangover is packed with meats and flavor. My husband and I frequently go out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on weekends, so we decided to try Double Egg Cafe at 12:00 noon yesterday. We were seated immediately, which was nice, but then we waited quite a while before a waitress came to our booth. She didn't introduce herself or have a name tag. I mentioned it was our first visit and asked for a few minutes to look at the menu, but she didn't offer any guidance or ask if we had questions. When she returned, she seemed disinterested, and we just went ahead and ordered. The food was very disappointing. My pancakes were stale, hard, and cold. The syrup container on the table was empty, and she didn't replace it. My husband's eggs weren't cooked as requested, and the hash browns were dry. We don't mind paying for good food, good service, or reasonable prices--but this place had none of that. There are plenty of other places with better food and friendlier service, so we won't be coming back. I'm glad we tried it, but it ended up being a waste of our time and money. read more
