Curry is a bit heavy but pairs well with their Naan. Honestly, the best thing here is their naan. Update: the chicken biriyani is pretty good! Drinks (2/5): Shocked by the quality based on their regular price. The Velvet Karma was okay (tasted like watery Bailey's with cinnamon). The Karma Sutra was mostly cough syrup, almost no liquor tasted in either. Both $15 each. Service (2/5): The waitresses are all hardworking but they seem super short-staffed. The whole place was packed but they're too busy to be out in the front. It took forever for food and drinks to come out also, despite it hasn't been packed yet. Took 15 min for the cocktail to be out and was watery... Ambiance (3/5): The live music at 7pm didn't start until 7:20. We came earlier and waited for it to start. Super disappointed and wanted to like this place. We can't see ourselves back unless these changes. It just seems stingey as a business to lack liquor in cocktails this price. I came here with a group of eight girls for dinner on a Monday evening. The service was great; however, the food was just okay. We ordered a variety of dishes including dahi poori, vegetable pakora, paneer chili, gobi Manchurian, veg chili momo, paneer tikka masala, malai kofta, chow mein, and a naan bread basket. The appetizers were better than the North Indian dishes. The paneer tikka masala and malai kofta were on the sweeter side despite us ordering them medium spicy. The kofta balls were also on the smaller side, and the paneer tikka masala had very few pieces of paneer. The chow mein was the star of the meal. It was flavorful and definitely my favorite dish. For the pakora, they only gave a small amount of green chutney, so we had to ask for more along with some tamarind chutney. There's parking behind the restaurant, which was convenient. If you're in the mood for chaat or North Indian food, I would probably choose a different restaurant. read more

Apps: Chili Momos (Veg) and Gobi Manchurian - the momos were super crispy and the sauce was very spicy in a good way! The Manchurian was so saucy and packed with flavor. Recommend both! Mains: Himalayan Thukpa, Palak Paneer, Malai Kofta - the Thukpa was the highlight! The broth was perfectly salty with a great umami taste. The Malai Kofta was rich and I enjoyed the cheesy koftas. We made ours first visit here this week. We've been dying to try it based on reviews and it did not disappoint! The service was fantastic. Ana behind the bar was very friendly, knowledgeable, and did not steer us wrong. We tried the Samosa, Naan basket, Chicken Tikka Masala, and the Lamb Vindaloo. All were amazing! The Vindaloo was as good as any you'll find in London. Very spicy without over powering. The Masala was creamy and full of flavor. The Naan and Samosa could win awards. Karmma & Kocktails is such a great addition to Grapevine! The Nepalese food was absolutely delicious, the cocktails were fantastic, and the service was outstanding. They also have a great happy hour, making it an even better spot to meet up with friends or unwind after work. A special shout-out to our server and bartender, Prapti! She was incredibly friendly, made us feel so welcome, and mixed some amazing martinis and green tea shots. The chili chicken was packed with incredible flavor, and the garlic naan was fresh, warm, and the perfect complement to our meal. We were watching the FIFA Final between Argentina and Spain at home and decided with Spain up 2 - 0 at halftime we would go out for an early dinner. We had seen Karmma & Kocktails on an earlier trip down Main Street and thought it would be a good place to try. Jane ordered an Auissi Prosecco and I tried the Himalayan Mule, which was their take on a traditional Moscow Mule. It was very good and perfect for a hot Sunday in Texas. Jane ordered Buttered Shrimp and I had the Karma's Himalayan Curry also with Shrimp. I like my food spicy but always start with a medium spice at a new place. This generally provides some spicy but avoids the kind of heat that might hurt. I will up the spice next time but medium was a nice balance with a little kick. We also ordered a Naan Basket with Plain, Butter & Bullet. Bullet is Naan with a slightly spicy green pepper topping. Both meals were rich and savory and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. I would highly recommend both dishes. The Naan was fresh and enough we took some home. It was still good reheated in the oven. We will be back to try the Momo / Dumplings, Tandoori and the Appetizers. The atmosphere was dark and cool, our server was Prash G, she provided excellent service and we would be happy to have her take care of our meals on the next visit. I try to hold off on reviewing a restaurant until I've had a chance to visit a couple of time. I will break this rule if I'm traveling and won't have a chance for a second visit. Karmma & Kocktails is an acceptation to the rule. I know we will be back for another visit soon but this is such a great place I don't want to wait to give it the Five Start review Karma & Kocktails deserves. The location at the north end of Main Street in Grapevine means not a lot of people will walk by and decide to stop in for lunch, dinner or a drink. The good news is their is a parking lot behind the restaurant and plenty of parking near the location. If you are looking for something different or love the cuisine of Nepal, you should definitely check out Karmma & Kocktails! read more

Our cocktails were half filled, the place was a bit cheaply decorated for Christmas, but that's just my taste level. I will give this place another try after Christmas. You can get a makers mark old-fashioned. It's a smoke drink with their craft addition of smoked cinnamon stick. The drink was phenomenal. I also tried some of the butter chicken. Wow fantastic food and great ambiance. We had the garlic naan, lamb manchurian, chicken tikka, and Himalayan curry. The lamb was very good, great depth of flavor. The chicken tikka was more orange in color and sweeter than Ive had before but to I loved it. It reminded me of like a Thai panang curry. The Himalayan curry was complex and delicious. We were greeted quickly and seated at the bar. K, our bartender, was so lovely! She made great refreshing drinks. The strawberry lemon drop was sooooo good! This is a tough one to rate. The food was great but the service was painfully slow. Ill give 4-stars and hope it was new-business kinks. The drinks: the signature drinks looked good, but $5 Happy Hour wine was hard to pass up. The drinks I wanted to try weren't on HH special either. Wine was good. The food: really delicious. We ordered family style and enjoyed it all. Got dumplings, butter chicken (chefs kiss), tandoori chicken, and the appetizer Brussels sprouts. The sauce on the butter chicken had me considering licking the bowl. we also got garlic naan, which was yummy, but only came with a single naan split in half. I thought that was very odd. The servings overall were on the small side. Not horribly small, but definitely not generous. The service: i do generally expect a bit of language barrier at ethnic food spots, but when i called for a reservation, the girl let me ask a question, then immediately handed the phone off without a word. Which I found odd. In the restaurant it was fine, but SLOW. So incredibly slow. Our dinner took nearly 3 hours because they just never came back for things (including water, which we had to ask for repeatedly). The waitress also had trouble doing our bill and needed help, so potentially there were just training issues. All said, the food was good, but go in with low expectations on service. read more

I'll admit I was a bit skeptical about trying Karma & Kocktails for the first time, given the less-than-stellar Indian dining scene in DFW. But the glowing reviews convinced me to stop by for lunch and I'm glad I did. The interior immediately caught my eye, with a warm, pub-style charm that reminded me of home (I grew up in London, so that British touch hit just right). We ordered the pani puri, lamb vindaloo and paneer tikka masala and each dish delivered authentic flavors. The garlic naan was a standout, soft and buttery! A special shoutout to Ria, who was incredibly attentive and impressively knowledgeable, even with all of our questions about the menu. Overall, a genuinely great experience. Decided to try something different and new in grapevine. Was so disappointed. The staff was all very young but friendly and no idea about how the food should taste. If ur wanting a very loud environment with inappropriate music and ran by the owner's children, then this is the place for you. One young boy grabbed a female employee by the wrist and pulled her into the kitchen and then later sat down with her and put one arm around her while the other hand was on his phone. Then he later sat down at a round table in the middle of the restaurant with a group of his friends. WILL NOT GO BACK AND DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Very poor service. Been here many times but very arrogant and ill informed server. My in laws politely asked if they can get room temp water and not ice water...server said they dont have it! Glasses were dirty - which they acknowledged and replaced. To pay we gave an international card - Told the server they need to use the chip - she kept using the touch feature and saying your card is getting declined...multiple times till I went to the terminal and showed her how to do it!! Very arrogant and poor service, fokd was barely above average...sugar in curries so clearly catering a different market. Will not visit again infact will post reviews in Southlake pages as well so fellow residents dont get that experience. Not to mention...its not cheap.Our bill for 5 people and 3 dishes for take out was 250. read more

Smooth like butter! I love Indian cuisine but often times it is "gritty" as some of the spices aren't broken down enough (?). Not here! Everything felt silky smooth and the flavors were amazing and stood out on first bite. We had spicy chicken korma , Palak Lamb, and garlic naan. I also had the Karma Sutra drink (sweeter side but good). Highly recommend this place. Came for lunch this time but will try to get out here for dinner soon. read more

But when I went to the ladies' room, I was shocked at the state. It was grungy and in disrepair. The hot water handle came off in my hand, so no hot water. The floor was super sticky. Everything looked dusty and dirty. The trashcan was full and an indiscreet giant trash can with no lid - almost like a yard bin. I'm glad I didn't see that when I first came in because I might have turned around and left. All said, a clean bathroom is easily fixed.
