The tour guide was wonderful! Very knowledgeable and answered questions well. The tasting was amazing. We got to taste 4 different samplings plus whiskey cake. A cake came home with us.

With Father's Day fast approaching i figure i better get the word out about this event hosted at Bendt Distillery. While scrambling for something to do last year i came across this event for BBQ & Bourbon. I love BBQ and i love some bourbon so sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Bendt is doing it again this year, so you still have a chance to attend! Ticket prices were pretty reasonable at $40pp or you can upgrade to a 'Dad' ticket for $75+, which gets you a take home bottle of bourbon and two tickets to a future tour at the distillery. The regular ticket price is still a great option, we got to enjoy some bourbon tastings. There was live music outside, it was extremely hot out there last year so dress cool for the occasion and be prepared to sweat. Limited shade was available for seating. Along with the live music, bbq and bourbon, there was also a caricature artist inside drawing up some fun artwork! Kent Rathbun Curbside BBQ was the featured food for this event and they did not disappoint! Mouth-watering brisket, smokey jalapeno & cheddar sausage, pulled pork. They had all the fixings you could need or think of. This was a fantastic event for fathers and adult children all around. It seems like a great place to go on the weekends and i am looking forward to coming back for the tour.

Happy Hour

I visited Bendt distillery for the first time on a Saturday evening for date night. It was a wonderful experience and the customer service was 10/10. We popped in right at happy hour time (M-sat 7-10pm). All the hh drinks are $5-$6; regular drink are about $15. We tried the bourbon cream, old fashion spritz, Bendt maple and Bendt mule. All were exceptional cocktails and I was pleasantly surprised at the creativity and presentation. They have a great patio and lots of seating inside and outside. I highly recommend checking out Bendt. I'm going to book a tour the next I go and try some of the fresh food menu items.

I came here at 12pm to enjoy some whiskey. I barely have any ideas about whiskey, so i started with tasting. Bartenders' explanation was very helpful for me to understand whiskey, and those are very good. I would highly recommend to try the whiskey tasting. I also ordered proscuitto&brie sandwich, and the flavor was somewhat different from my expectation, in a super good way. So tasty! My friend's favorite was Bourbon cream. I think it tastes very similar with baileys or kahlua to me anyway. The owner(i assume) was very friendly, and baretenders were super nice too. (And soooo pretty *cough*cough*) One of the bartenders with glasses kinda describe the life in Texas for us so it was quite informative to me too. I wish i can visit here next time again!

Filling our own bottle to take home!

We went to Bendt for a group date and we had the what time. The drinks were top notch and the experience was fantastic. I had their mojito and it was one of the BEST drinks I have had in a long time and now I crave them. My husband really enjoyed the whiskey tour and pouring his own bottle. We will recommend this place and the experience to all of our friends.

Tasting after the tour

Very chill place with a short but good history. The tour gives you some insight on their process and some good info from the distilling world. You end the tough with a tasting where the old fashioned bourbon was great and is already infused with orange bitters. The bar tenders created pretty amazing drinks. Definitely a place to check out.

Bendt Distillery in Lewisville used to be known as Witherspoon Distillery when I visited it several years ago. It was the first distillery I've visited outside of Kentucky to produce bourbon whiskey. Fun fact- although mostly known as a spirit famously produced in Kentucky, United States Code does allow bourbon whiskey to produced in all other US states and territories- provided they adhere to all other requirements. There still are distillery tours and samples, a store, and a large bar area. When a high school buddy & I decided to stop by for a night cap, we decided to sit outside on the patio. Bendt's patio is huge, as big as the bar & store put together. They have picnic benches and the night we stopped by, solo live entertainment by Ashton Edminster. As we were winding down the night after a huge barbeque dinner, I got an Irish Coffee with Bendt Bourbon Irish Cream. It was a cool Dallas night (about a week after 100+ degree F daytime highs), so the warmth of the Irish Coffee was quite comforting! It was great to finish catching up with my high school buddy in such pleasant circumstances. A special shoutout to the singer, Ashton. When I went to tip her, It was weird at first to see her Venmo barcode, but of course- the newer generations would rather send her money instead of giving. All in all, a good time was had by all. As I usually make Lewisville my homebase during a Dallas visit, I'll definitely return to Bendt's, especially to try their Happy Hour (Mon-Sat 7 pm to close) or Sunday Specials (available all day Sun)! Repeat and recommend!

I can't wait to go back!! I came here with a friend because she wanted to buy something specific, it was supposed to be a quick stop. When we first got there, a group was starting a tour, and everyone had a drink (good sign). The tour guide told us to go ahead and walk in and pointed us to the right. When we walked in, the space is broken into two sections a store and a bar. It is spacious and cozy at the same time. We first stopped in the store area where we looked at their cool merch and Rick educated us on all their liquor options. Then we went to the bar where the bartenders were just as nice and attentive as Rick. They gave us recommendations based on our drink taste and told us about the bands every Friday and Saturday. We stayed for about an hour and I can't wait to come back to drink my blackberry margarita and listen to live music.

So I came back with some friends for the rum cake. Unfortunately they don't have rum cake anymore but they do have whiskey cake and today they were running a deal, which was right up my alley. So we walked in and they were in the middle of a tour however they welcomed us in and were extremely friendly. We met Rick, who was informative as well as friendly. We tasted a little bit of everything and he let us know that they were running a cake and cream special. We tasted the cream and it was delicious! It's something you can put in coffee, ice cream, chilled . . . There is so many options. They serve food as well but as our time was limited we decided to have a drink and keep it moving. The old fashion was delicious, the blackberry margarita was SPICY! They make a cream soda in house that is great by itself but when mixed with the old fashion whiskey it's even better. The distillery has an outside patio as well as seating inside making it a spot that you can come and hang out with friends. They do have live music as well as a happy hour so it's worth checking out!

Board and hummus with a flight!

Decided to drop in for a try...ended up finding a gem! Ordered a bourbon flight and ended up ordering another! Got their board and some hummus...we were blown away! Everything was fresh and delicious! We are putting this on repeat!!

Hand filling station - straight from the barrel baby!

TLDR: Fantastic whiskies, great venue, and even better customer service. You need to check this place out and ask for Raleigh Hughes - dude knows his stuff and will treat you right! Visited Bendt while in Texas for a wedding - had recently seen a YouTube short comparing their BiB 100 proof bourbon against the uncut barrel strength version at a whopping 142 proof... as a huge fan of high-proof juice, I knew I had to check in. I emailed the shop asking if they had any of this hazmat sauce left, and to my pleasant surprise, received a prompt response indicating they did indeed have the nectar, plus some additional offerings I would be interested in. Exchanged numbers with Raleigh Hughes and set a time to swing by. I was blown away by the experience at Bendt - Raleigh personally introduced me to the staff, toured me around the facility, and sat with me and my family sampling all of the "straight from the barrel" offerings for the better part of a Tuesday afternoon. The quality to price ratio is simply unmatched - I am new to Texas whiskey, and did not have high expectations given the unfounded snobbery that had evidently clouded my perceptions. Boy, was I wrong - the rye, malt, straight bourbon, and wheater are all absolute knockouts. The color alone signaled I was in for a treat - the nose was far more complex than I expected, and the finish was like a frieght train carrying all the best cargo. Is it Coy Hill? It's honestly not far off - the flavor profiles, accessibility, and experience of hand-filling my own bottles have rendered my obsessive hunts obsolete. Seriously, this is some of the best whisky I've ever experienced, and I've been in the game for a minute. Stop reading and get over to Bendt for the SFTB experience - better yet, forget you've read this and save some for me! Raleigh - many thanks for the hospitality and for blessing the East Coast with some amazing bottles. Can't wait to link up again.

Bendt-mapple (back), Seasonal Rotator, coriander (front)
Tosha R.

I was so excited to learn that there was a whiskey distillery literally around the corner from me. Of course, I had to check it out with a friend. As we walked to the bar and patio, there was cute signage throughout. There is a spacious patio area with picnic tables and entertainment (a singer) was setting up. We ordered the Bendt-mapple and the seasonal rotator which is basically a coriander old fashioned. I liked the latter best. We also ordered the Texas Board spread which consisted of a buttery one, red pepper hummus, and spinach artichoke dip. Out of the 3, I really enjoyed the Spinach and artichoke dip! It had a nice little kick to it and was just delish. We got through drinks pretty quickly so ordered another round before leaving. I got the Texas peach old fashioned and my friend got an old fashioned spritzer. I also tried a taste of the Bendt No 5. It's ok but I didn't really feel there's this distinct taste for me that would make me want a bottle. I will go back though because I really like the vibe and the potential for kicking back and having a good time with either a date or friends. Also, they have a whiskey cake that I want to try.

Tammie G.

Came for a cocktail making class and we loved it! The light bites were delish! All made in house spreads and don't get me started on the whiskey cake Staff was friendly and the time was nice a relaxed. When you arrive you can enjoy a drink and snacks or even a little shopping. Then off to make the first cocktail complete with the recipe to take. After the first cocktail more relaxing and snacking in the lounge. Met a few new friends too!! Then time for the second cocktail and then any purchases you might want to make with a 20% discount! Loved the outdoor patio and can't wait to go back 4-7 Friday and Saturday I think for a great Happy Hour too (it may have been 7-10 my bad I didn't get a pic of the times)

Is there a Happy Hour ?? and if so what are the deets

What are your holiday hours?

Hi there, is it cold or warm when touring the distillery?

We went before Mother's Day and only the patio was open. They were not doing tours.

Are you still doing Happy Hour?

We are! We offer Happy Hour specials every Friday and Saturday from 7-10pm. Our Happy Hour menu has several cocktails at $5-6, and one small bites special for $6. Hope to see you soon!

Maybe a silly question but can you just walk in and have cocktails? I don't need to make an appointment, or anything like that?

Our public areas (tasting hall / whiskey garden) are open to the public, are family friendly and do not require a reservation any time that we are open to the public, so come on in! The only activities that require reservations or have age… Read more

Do they serve any food? We plan on going tonight and there are no food trucks on the calendar, so just wondering how to prepare before we go.

They pretty much always have a food truck on the weekends, but I'd call ahead if one isn't on their calendar. They do NOT serve food themselves - it's only food trucks.
