Such a great place. This is my 2nd time here. We came for the cowgirl dinner but I opted for the steak salad. Diff: Steak salad uses a 6oz flat iron and the cowgirl dinner uses a 5 oz sirloin, comes with fries and a small Caesar salad. The fires are really good! The sirloin was good and I think the way to get it is medium rare since it's such a lean cut. Service was good. They've got a nice selection of wine. The ambiance here is great too! I met some friends here for dinner on Friday, 6/12. I voted for this place, since I found out they were a affiliated with The Ranch - which I LOVE! The menu is exactly the same which is great! I ordered the Texas Redfish. I did tell the ladies we HAD TO order the Crispy Pork Belly Bites as an appetizer, and I put it on my tab. They are always GREAT! Haywire serves up qualitative & well prepared American fare, with southwest accents. The service was excellent for our party of 9. We had elk tacos, gulf coast ceviche, babyback ribs, chicken fried steak, double cheeseburgers, Texas redfish, caesar salad, ice cream, whiskey bread pudding, & carrot cake. Plenty of drinks, including a wine bottle, 2 haywire's, & a jack daniels. Soft drinks too. The appetizers were fantasic. My double cheeseburger emphasized the meat, well seasoned, right amount of pickles & greens, not overwhelmed with sauce. The tallow fries were as good as it ever gets: crispy, soft inside, must be 2x fried. Outside square had great World Cup fan area. We watched Colombia vs Uzbekistan. My team Croatia lost to England previously, but Haywire soothed my disappointment with an excellent dining experience. BTW: $638.04 with a 20% tip. Great value. I came with a few friends for dinner service on a Thursday evening. The restaurant is beautiful, and I took many pictures to show how pretty it is. Our server, Mikayla, was incredibly kind and helpful. I'm a vegetarian, and the menu didn't not contain a lot of options for me. Mikayla offered, without my complaint, to do a vegetarian pasta dish. I was so grateful for the option. However, I didn't end up loving the pasta. It was okay, just not my personal favorite. I don't think I'll return because there isn't a lot of options for me, with dietary restrictions, but I'd recommend anyone without restrictions checks it out. The rest of our table enjoyed their food and everything was fresh and seasonal. read more

Welcome to Haywire, a restaurant with incredible attention to detail when it comes to ambience. Three floors, each with its own distinct decor and outstanding service. I landed in Dallas and several people recommended this restaurant so here I am. Unfortunately, I'm on somewhat of a diet so this is going to be challenging. Several people have encouraged me to try their steak and of course and tons of other meats that look delicious, including Elk tacos. thankfully, they came through with Texas corn, spicy green beans and charred broccolini, as well as a house salad. Ambiance, service, food & drinks- A+++++ First time visiting Dallas, we decided on Haywire before meeting family for drinks after. I'm so happy we did! The ambiance, a 3 story restaurant starting with a seated bar and lounge area, we were shown to the 2nd floor where there is an entire open concept kitchen and dining room along with bar tops for seating. There was an outdoor area on all levels, the 3rd floor was closed for a private event however we were told it's a cigar lounge. Our waiter Israel was amazing. He was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely attentive to my husband and I. The food was so good the dishwasher probably didn't beee to clean our plates after. Amazing service. So good I cannot recall our waiters name but he just started working there and he gave the most amazing recommendations. I'm not a big red meat eater,nor do I know how to order a steak. I met up with one of my girlfriends to catch up and we decided in the Cowgirl Dinner that we saw online. When I say it was the perfect amount of protein, carb and salad ratio and a cocktail for $30. You cannot beat that. Now we may have gotten started late , but the staff was more than accommodating as we toured the facility while they were closing. I will def come back for drinks and to try more of their food items. Also to frequent the cigar lounge they have on the 3rd floor. I will see if they carry Cohibas or Romeo and Juliet cigars.i love the atmosphere here !!! 100/10 read more

My friend and I decided to check out Haywire to celebrate the Women's History Month special. It's all day long, it's called the Cowgirl Dinner. It comes with a 5oz steak, fries, caesar salad, and a lemon drop. It's only $30, and we came here for lunch. We were able to walk right in with no reservations required and it wasn't crowded at all. They also have HH M-F from 2p-6p which was a plus. We decided to share the HH chips and queso, which I enjoyed. The service was great. Inside was clean, not too loud. It's a great location for lunch. The meal was very good and hit the spot. I enjoyed it very much. I haven't been to Haywire in a while before this and I'm glad I came! read more

I did not expect this restaurant to be so huge -- even after walking up the stairs, there's a nice balcony filled with seating, perfect for a nice sunny day. waitresses were pretty attentive and kept coming back to refill our drinks. she provided suggestions as well, helping out our big group. I got my steak medium well, which was nice cut up on the sides to prevent it from folding in too much. I definitely would go medium next time, as it was slightly dry, and very salty. the mac and cheese was chewy and creamy, and was one of the better mac and cheeses I've tried in texas. the appetizers, not pictured, were also tasty, especially the chips and white queso. read more

The Caesar salad is solid -classic anchovy-forward dressing that feels traditional and well-executed, though it leans a bit heavy on the dressing. The standout, though, is the prime rib. Easily the best I've had at a restaurant so far -perfectly cooked, flavorful, and worth coming back for on its own. THE SERVICE: The server was good-friendly, efficient, and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. THE VIBE: Warm, upscale Texas feel with a rustic touch. The redfish was slathered in some chunky seafood cream reminiscent of canned soup - absolutely wrecked the fish. The mashed potatoes were gummy and unseasoned. After dinner we went to the roof and sat in the airstream. Unfortunately a group of completely oblivious dudes had huddled with cigars directly in front of the entrance, hot boxing the air stream with cheap cigar smoke so it was an even more wretched experience than dinner inside. This is a restaurant I normally love and frequent often, and until this visit I've never had a single issue. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was a bit rough. When I arrived, I stood at the host stand and was ignored three separate times--no greeting, no acknowledgment, nothing--leaving me standing there feeling awkward and overlooked. That was disappointing, especially since first impressions usually set the tone and having worked as a hostess in the past, I feel it is one of the most important jobs in a restaurant. Once seated, we ordered the pork belly bites for appetizer that was better than it has even been in the past! They were wonderful!! Then for dinner I ordered a ribeye steak that arrived cold. I sent it back, but the replacement was also cold, which was frustrating. On a positive note, our waitress was absolutely lovely and handled the situation professionally. She ultimately removed the steak from the bill, which I truly appreciated and which helped soften the experience. While the service missteps and kitchen issues left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, this place has earned a lot of goodwill with me over time. I do plan to return, but I'll admit I'm feeling a little uneasy and hopeful that this visit was just an off night rather than a trend. read more

I don't understand the allure of Haywire. It's good but I'm shocked how it's packed every single time I've visited. I do like the cowboy theme where servers are in cowboy hats, have big belt buckles, or are wearing chaps. The crab dip was good, ceviche was not great, striped bass was fantastic but red fish wasn't seasoned much, steak was mediocre, and the banana bread was damn good so don't skip on dessert. Our server was awesome as he kept checking up on us though he was extremely busy with many tables. read more

I've been to Haywire once for dinner years ago with my husband, but just went back for the Cowgirl Dinner last night! For $30 during the month of March (Women's History Month) you can get a 5oz steak, fries, a caesar salad, and a martini (dirty or lemon drop.) For a Thursday night it was pretty crowded with two private events, but my friend and I managed to snag a table on the rooftop. My fiancé and I invited some friends down to Dallas for the weekend, and we had an amazing time at Haywire. I always sit at the bar because I love watching the kitchen cook, and the whole experience was great from start to finish. The team was very clean and Chef Skylar really made our visit enjoyable. One of our friends couldn't eat beef and pork that were cooked in the same grease as the chicken, so the staff prepared a meat specifically for him. I was really happy they overheard our conversation and went above and beyond to accommodate him--that attention to detail meant a lot. Overall, it was a fantastic visit, and Haywire is definitely one of my favorites in Dallas. read more

It was our last night in Texas and friends had recommended this place. It's a huge restaurant with 3 floors. First floor is mainly their bar. The second floor is the main dining/restaurant. It's a very big restaurant and it was quite busy for a Sunday night. The third floor is their rooftop bar with a cigar shop. Very cute setup with teepees. All the employees were very friendly and helpful. We started with their Chef's favorite 4 appetizer platter and it did not disappoint. It was a great way to sample the best items on the menu. I wasn't keen on trying the elk tacos but they turned out to be pretty good and it tasted like ground beef. Fried green tomatoes is my jam. I was so excited when I saw it on the menu. Queso blanco was delish as was the onion rings. We all ordered an enteee and everyone enjoyed it. I had the double pork chop that was slow cooked with their house rib. As thick as it was the pork chop was still super juicy. The petite filets were very tender and juicy. Another friend had the catfish and shrimp and said it tasted ok but she wouldn't order it again. We were stuffed so we didn't get to order any dessert. We definitely loved the ambience and would love to come back again. read more

I've been wanting to try the brunch here for awhile so for my birthday we finally decided to try it. We were seated quickly (with a reservation) on the 2nd floor. This place is huge and beautiful on the inside with a rustic Texas vibe. Our server was great and the food was very fresh and delicious. We started with the lemon glazed blueberry biscuits and they were flaky and buttery. I had the chilaquiles, my husband had the double cheeseburger, and my daughter had pancakes. Love the energy of the people dining and serving both. Our server kept checking on us about the food, which was very kind but a little bit too much of kindness? Lol but I appreciate her effort. I had blackened catfish and shrimp. It was a good dish overall- I particularly enjoyed the Cajun corn mix that came with it- fish was smooth and buttery and shrimp were ok. My partner had chicken fried steak and that was interestingly different and tasty. It had chicken and beef inside the fried layer. Last second stop in for a first date. We sat in the bar area on a sofa with a fire setting the sexy ambiance. We were quickly greeted by Maria who took our drink orders and checked in with us often. I went with The Judd smoked old fashion. He had a house favorite but I don't remember the name. We finally decided to try a few appetizer items just to have something on our stomachs with consuming libations. He went with the queso and added elk. I had the mini elk tacos. I'm giving this place 3 stars because of the rude service I experienced. The female employee working on the upper level near the phone and menus was extremely unprofessional during my visit a few months back around lunchtime. When I asked to look at a menu before being seated, she handed it to me and pointed to an area, saying, "You can look over the menu here." Her tone and facial expression came across as dismissive, which really set a negative tone. If I were rating Ruby, who was working on the lower level, this would easily be a 5-star review. She greeted me kindly the moment I walked in, offered helpful recommendations, and allowed me to look through a menu before I went upstairs to explore more options. Unfortunately, my interaction with the upper-level employee was unpleasant enough that I chose to dine at the food hall instead. Haywire Is farm to table texas greatness! My husband has been here many times and we finally had a date night together a few weeks back. We ate upstairs where there were bookcases against the wall and wood tables, all very homey feeling. One reason I was excited to try this place is that every food item fried here is fried in beef tallow! That is so much healthier than any seed oil! Our appetizer were the onion rings and they were crunch, huge, and delicious! For entrees my husband had the double cheeseburger and I had the meatloaf with fries. I had a bite of my husband's hamburger and wow it was one of the best burgers I have ever had! It was juicy and flavorful! My meatloaf was good but not amazing. Thr portion sizes was also a bit disappointing because it was two small slices. I would pass on it and recommend a burger. I would love to come back again soon to try their lunch options or their steaks. The steaks are affordably priced in my opinion for the area. My husband had a couple house margaritas and said they were delicious. Overall this is a solid southern/American restaurant and its a great staple of legacy west. read more

I used to consider Haywire my go-to--reliable, delicious, no drama. Well... plot twist. Ordered a pork chop for delivery and received an unexpected side of hair. Not exactly the farm-to-table experience I had in mind. I called, thinking this would be an easy fix--"Hey, can I swap this out for one without the... extra garnish?" Instead, I was told there was nothing they could do since it was a delivery order... but I should post about my experience. So here we are. Taking their advice. Would love to hear if others have had similar experiences--or if this was just my lucky day. Happy to report that I returned the next day and Scott, the manager, gladly traded my pork chop with unrequested garnish for a new freshly cooked pork chop.
