I was staying at the Renaissance well in Plano and Earls was in walking distance. It was actually recommended to us by a waitress at a local restaurant that was already closing and she recommended their evening happy hour. When we checked their reviews online, it didn't look too promising, but the menu sounded amazing so we decided to come back the next day and try the food. I am so glad that we did! Every single thing we ordered was absolutely amazing. We were able to order the bucket of fried chicken for $20 off of the happy hour menu which was four boneless, skinless breaded fried chicken thighs and they came out hot and perfect! They were so good. We also ordered one Baja fish taco and we regretted not ordering more because they were really good. We also ordered the lobster Bucatini, which was an amazing flavor, but honestly a bit disappointing on the portion size, it could have come with a bit more pasta and sauce, and a piece of bread would've been nice for the sauce. We ended our meal with the crème brûlée cheesecake which I was kind of scared to order because I really love crème brûlée but I'm not a super fan of cheesecake but Earl's did it 10 out of 10 perfect! Hands-down, one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. For the drinks, I ordered an old-fashioned and my husband ordered a Moscow mule. Both of our drinks were great, we were very impressed and will definitely be back next time. We are in Plano. Dining tip: in order to take advantage of the happy hour, whether it be for lunch or dinner, you do have to sit in the bar, lounge, and I believe the outdoor patio counts as well. Our corporate office is near this location so we decided to check it out for dinner. We arrived around 6:15 on a Thursday night and clearly happy hour was still going on or just wrapping up as it was incredibly packed with many other business professionals in the area. We were a party of six and got seated originally at a small booth. We definitely felt uncomfortable because it was a very very tight fit so we did ask to be moved at which point we were moved to two separate tables that were near each other. They can't put the tables together in some areas because they're actually voltage to the floor. So four people sat at one table and then two of us sat at another table. It worked out perfectly fine. We just couldn't all engage in the conversation, but it was fine. I ordered an old-fashioned and it was OK. I did order a second one and opted to go to Buffalo Trace . I will say their cherries taste like they are soaked in the house whiskey and it's a lot to take when you bite it at the end of your grain. For my meal, I got the Cobb salad with the sirloin and no egg. The salad was really good and I appreciated the steak. Steak is only about 4 ounces that you'll be able to see from the image so I definitely want a little bit more. We did get some appetizers - forgive me as I don't remember what the name of this dip was, but it was very tasty and was basically corn with avocado and something else. I've been coming to Earl's kitchen for years before I even moved to Dallas. They have a good happy hour from 3-6 and 9-close which is great. They also offer it on weekends which most restaurants only have it m-f. The drinks are good however the food is just ok, nothing spectacular. I do like the spicy ribs that's the best thing on the menu, other than that nothing else stands out that I can recommend so I had to minus a star for that. That service is always quick and friendly, I did have one bad experience late night with a server who forgot to put in my friends order, but it was only once out of 10x dining here. She was very attentive and made sure we weren't missing anything. I got the Korean ribs for appetizers (basically ate the meat down to the bone, these were soo addicting. For my main dishes I got the Chilaquiles Brunch Bowl & the Blackened Chicken. This is a great spot to celebrate a special occasion with a slow, sit down dinner. Ambiance is classy, low lit and eclectic. Food itself took about half an hour to come but it was a Friday night. Ordered the truffle fries, Cajun chicken, truffle tortellini, Nashville hot chicken and tofu bibimbap. Portion sizes wise this isn't the place to go family style. Let me first start with the decor of this place, it is absolutely beautiful, with low lighting throughout including the restrooms. The only issue is the music is a touch loud and it's difficult to even hear the server, so much so where she squats down to hear better. I am genuinely disgusted and extremely disappointed with my experience at Earls. I came here with a group of around 12 friends and ordered the truffle butter steak with truffle fries. Afterward, I became extremely sick with symptoms consistent with food poisoning and ended up having to go to the hospital. What makes this even worse is that I wasn't the only one--the majority of the people in our group also became sick after eating here. There were already hygiene concerns while we were at the restaurant. One of my friends literally found a hair in her food and had to send her meal back to the kitchen. Then, after I told other friends what happened, another friend told me she had become seriously ill after eating at Earls about 1-2 months earlier and ended up going to the ER as well. I understand that it's difficult to prove exactly what caused an illness without testing, but having multiple people from the same dinner become sick, on top of the hair found in the food, is extremely concerning to me. I went out expecting a nice dinner and instead ended up in the hospital. This experience was unacceptable, and I seriously hope management investigates their food-handling and sanitation practices because no customer should have to go through this. read more

Like the ambience and layout of Earl's. Parking is a problem and a premium; even at lunch. Couldn't find a space in the garage or the street so ultimately had to go to the valet, which is a $5 charge that Earl's, unlike many restaurants, does not take care of for you. Our waitress was nice, but quite honestly when we asked her what was popular for lunch. We got a laundry list for every food category of the most expensive item available. Is the $45 Seabass the most popular lunch choice as was recommended? Or the sushi and steak option that we could upgrade to just steak for around $50 in total? The good news was that we ignored those ridiculous lunch recommendations, and settled on the salad with salmon added, and their classic burger. Both the salmon salad and the classic burger were fantastic. Unfortunately the french fries had potential but tasted stale and reheated. Could be wrong, but that's what I thought at the time.
