We went to dinner for our anniversary and ordered the Del's Jumbo lump crab cake and beef carpaccio as appetizers, which were delightful. For our main course, we had 12oz filet mignon and the surf and turf trio.although the filet was cooked to perfection, Unfortunately they messed up my order and overcooked the Steak. However, the manager intervened and corrected the issue, preparing a new steak that turned out well, The sides, including creamed corn, creamed spinach and roasted wild mushrooms, were exceptional. I went to this restaurant because I expected that it would give high customer service. Not at all. There were six people at the bar and I was one of them. Nobody was manning it when I got there. I ordered a glass of champagne and nobody ever came back to ask me if I wanted to eat anything which I did want to order food. I guess that's the reason why the restaurant was empty. I love Del Frisco's every location I have been to has consistently delivered one of the best steaks I have ever had. The food like usual was great! This time we had the crab cake appetizer which was delicious. Then we each ordered a steak with chateau potatoes and Parmesan truffle fries. The service was not on par with the food. It wasn't bad but it was not great. I made the reservations for our anniversary and informed the restaurant when making reservations. Despite informing them of this there was very little acknowledgment of it. There was no special greeting or champagne or even dessert offering. When we asked to box up left overs someone came by and swept the crumbs into the fries that we intended to take home. Celebrated my husband's birthday last week and had Bradley as our server. We had a wonderful time and the service was amazing. The Del's salad is so good and a must when eating here to start your meal. The sea bass was so tasty and not fishy, a great portion with not too much rice. What an underwhelming start to restaurant week :( we were greeted by the host who had a really dismissive attitude and our server was promptly switched out after bringing us water, which we thought was a bit odd since no one said anything. It seems like we were judged as soon as we walked through the door and I should've listened to my gut when I asked my boyfriend if we should leave. Honestly, this was the worst short rib I've ever had! It was so tough and I could barely eat it, 95% of it was still on my plate. My boyfriend ordered his steak medium and it came out almost blue so it had to be sent back. For over $200, I would expect so much more from this place- especially when we've had outstanding service at many other fine dining establishments even without spending as much. It is super overpriced for what you get and we left feeling bummed that our experience was not up to par with the open table reviews at all. I wish I would've looked on here! Had dinner there last night. We were part of a Retirement planning meeting. Meeting was good. Service and food poor. Asked server for a tea (included) and a glass of wine I was paying for. Never received either. Steak was barely warm almost no seasoning. Meat was great quality but needed a touch of salt. Salt not available. Green beans tasty but almost raw not Al dente. Mashed potatoes superb. Nobody checked on our table of 4 on anything. Disappointing for someone who dines at fine steakhouses. Would be hard to get us back. Several other choices. Celebrated my fiancés bday here. It was a nice experience. Lovely atmosphere! Server was super friendly and attentive. The manager circled through often ensuring our satisfaction. The honey butter bread to start was phenomenal. Hot, fresh, flavorful. We ordered a prime ribeye, creamed spinach, mac and cheese, and del's jumbo lump crab cake. The star of the show here was the crab cake, which came with a creole sauce underneath that I thought was a perfect and unique accompaniment. The sides could use a little more flavor in my opinion, but it's nothing a little salt or cheese couldn't fix. For dessert, we finished with a butter cake. I'm always craving butter cake at steakhouses and most places don't get it right, however, this Del Friscos location did and it was so good! It was the perfect size too! I had a great time at Del Frisco's last night thanks to the company and the service, but my experience with the food was very mixed. We ordered a bunch of things from the menu and I only really enjoyed a few items. Let's start with the good. The good: - Del's salad. I thought this was going to be a basic mixed green salad and ordered it to be healthy, but it was a really delicious salad and a generous portion. I especially loved the crispy sweet potato on top. - Warm butter cake. Holy crap. How do they get this to be so caramelized? I was mad that I was so full because I wanted to eat so much of this cake. Even my husband, who isn't a big cake person, really liked this and I think texture had a big part in it. - Calamari. Maybe slightly over-sauced but the flavors were good and I liked the departure from how fried calamari is usually served. - Mashed potatoes. This was my favorite side. It was seasoned really well and so buttery. Just ok: - Steak. I don't know if this is to leave room for people to add sauces but I found the steak under seasoned. I wasn't in love with it at the restaurant, and I added some salt when I had some of the leftovers at home and it was much better. - Lobster tail. We got a big one for the table and they served us all a bit each. It was just fine. I could taste the natural sweetness of my lobster piece but it tasted a tiny bit overcooked. I expected it to be more tender and buttery in texture. - Octopus (not photographed). I got a piece that was overcooked. My husband said the piece he had was good, so maybe I was just unlucky, but I expect a restaurant in this price range to be consistently good with something like this. - Dynamite shrimp. I found this to be over-sauced as well, and it could be crispier. I had it pretty quickly after it was brought to our table but it had already lost any semblance of crispiness. - Crab cake. Lots of crab and I liked the texture of the large crab meat pieces, but I would have liked some panko or something that makes it feel more like a crab cake than just a mound of crab meat. - Sorbet. Nothing too special. It was interesting to have lemon, mandarin, and raspberry as the flavors in February, but I guess February isn't known for a lot of seasonal produce. - Lobster mac and cheese. This was just ok for me. I saw big chunks of lobster which is great, but I could have done without. The not so good: - Raw oysters. These were some of the worst oysters I've ever had. Our (amazing) server said that they source oysters from the Northeast but these were more tasteless than some of the worst gulf oysters I have had. And they were shucked really poorly. I got a piece of the shell with every single oyster, and I had 6 (each time hoping for a better experience both with taste and the shucking and being disappointed over and over again). - Chilean sea bass. The other times I've had Chilean sea bass in my life, the fish had always been buttery soft. I ordered this dish expecting that texture and it felt like a completely different fish. I was very disappointed and I felt like the strong flavors on the plate were there to mask how subpar the fish is. - Surf and turf trio. I already mentioned that steak was underseasoned. The steak in this dish suffered from this as well and the lobster in this was not very good, especially compared to the other lobster we had for the table. - Broccolini. Del Frisco's should take a field trip down the street to Haywire and try their broccolini. If I go back, I would order the calamari, Del's salad, maybe the mashed potatoes, and the butter cake. Last week, we visited Del Frisco's Double Eagle with our friends to celebrate our double anniversaries. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance, creating a pleasant atmosphere for a special occasion. Overall, the food was good, and the service was attentive and professional. However, what left us disappointed was discovering that we were charged for condiments such as garlic sauce and chimichurri sauce for our steaks without being informed beforehand. We understand that restaurants may have different policies, but a restaurant of this caliber should either provide these accompaniments as part of the dining experience or clearly disclose any additional charges in advance. While we enjoyed the ambiance, food, and service, the unexpected condiment charges left a negative impression on what was supposed to be a memorable celebration. I recently went to Del Frisco's for drinks at the bar. The whiskey drinks had was very good. I would order it again. Apparently the bar has two menus. The first one we had was small & did not have much that was grabbing our attention. Another patron told us about the other menu. After that we got complimentary bread & ordered some filet sliders. The bread was a little dry but the sliders were VERY GOOD! The main bartender helping us was great. At some point there were many bartenders & they all kept checking on us. It felt like every couple minutes we were telling them we didn't need anything. I appreciate their attentiveness but it was a lot. The one suggestion to make the bar more comfortable would be to add hooks for purses. I enjoyed visiting & look forward to going back in the future. read more

Let's start out with the fact that I absolutely love this place. I've had many a great steak here and the ambiance is always on point. Came in today to check out some lunch. Started out great, and my bar tender Ryan was awesome. Great dude. Had a look at the lunch specials and to my surprise, they were offering a warm Lobster Roll on their lunch menu. I was floored. Ever since I had my first lobster roll at the Bangkor, ME airport on my way home from both Iraq and Afghanistan, I have been in search of the best lobster rolls I can find. None have eclipsed that experience yet. Now...I realize I am in Texas, and lobsters aren't exactly what you get in the Gulf of America, but I was hopeful. Unfortunately, it felt like chef was using this as an opportunity to recoup some food cost. The lobster on the roll were scraps, not the big, juicy lobster tail chunks I was hoping for. Brad (the GM) did come around and visit with me (unsolicited) and I shared with him my disappointment. My recommendation? Stick to the cheesesteak when you come in for lunch. I have told so many people about this experience that I realized they needed to stop being lazy and just post it in yelp! I have to start with the incredible service. I received the first night. I went and sat at the bar. Misty, the bartender was equal parts, incredible hospitality, and just the right amount of familiarity to make an incredible bartender. I told her the things that I liked the sound of on the menu, and she helped me work my way through to the perfect meal. I had a 3 ounce A5 Wagyu, alongside a 4 ounce petite lobster tail, and a side of sautéed spinach. Every bite absolutely melted in my mouth. On top of the extraordinary service I received from Misty, Brad the GM came by to check on me and was just a very cool guy who clearly had a great handle on everything happening in the restaurant. On my way out Mikhail, another manager just took a brief moment to check in on how my experience was, and it just reinforces the hospitality that these guys are absolutely committed to. It was such an amazing experience that I took a couple of my team members back the next day, and we had an equally great time with all different dishes that our server helped us select for a family style dinner. We had a great time at our NYE dinner. The entire staff was well trained, professional, and friendly. Our reservation was for 5:00, when the restaurant opened, and we arrived at about 10-till. The building is beautiful and historic, but has no lobby or waiting area. Everyone was crammed in until they began seating at 5:00, but the hostesses seated everyone very quickly. Everything we are or drank was delicious and cooked perfectly . The menu is pricey for sure, but we knew that coming in. It's amazing how some people who are selling you a service act like they're doing you a favor, even though we, as customers, are the reason they're employed. Our server, Matt (glasses), was a perfect example. My short rib came out with cold potatoes. When he asked if I wanted a side or wanted it redone, I chose to have it redone because the point of ordering a meal is to enjoy everything together--fresh and hot. Instead of redoing it, they clearly microwaved my plate and brought it back. The short rib was now tougher and not enjoyable. I didn't even bother sending it back again. Then, I ordered the lemon cake for my sister because I've had it before and it's usually great. This time it was dry--completely disappointing. I asked for it to be removed. At the end, he asked if I was a rewards member. I thought I was because I get the emails. He took my number, but came back with the check and didn't say a single word--no "we didn't find you," no "here's how to sign up," nothing. And then I'm expected to tip to prove what? That I'm somehow worthy of being served? What a joke. This experience was not it, and the service needs serious improvement. read more

Took my father here for a Christmas dinner treat (Holidays are difficult for him since my stepmoms death last year.) What a total disappointment! The Dynamite Shrimp was completely bland, lacking any seasoning or flavor. The Nueske's Bacon was unexpectedly and overwhelmingly spicy -- something that should be clearly noted on the menu. The Pork Chop was extremely tough and difficult to cut, let alone chew. My steak, ordered medium‑well, arrived undercooked and visibly bloody. The Au Gratin potatoes were underdone, and the broccolini was so heavy on garlic that it was unpleasant to eat. FOOD Bread - It has a little layer of sweet coating (honey butter) on the outside and flakes of seasalt on the top that enhance the flavor. Very soft and a little bit crispy on the outside. Shanghai Style Calamari - Some type of sweet and sour chili sauce that is yum. Calamari is crispy on the outside. It comes with bean sprouts. Tasty with the sweet flavor. Also has pickles and peppers. The dish usually comes with peanuts, but it was nice that they took that out for me since I have an allergy. Dynamite Shrimp - There's a sweet chili mayo sauce that complements the shrimp well. Little bit of a crispy breading layer on the outside. The dish has crispy, red cabbage as well. King Crab Rainbow Roll - It comes with Alaskan king crab inside which comes in generous portion. The seafood is fresh. The roll is a tad bit spicy from the little chili flakes. Quality ingredients overall and presentation is all right. The one thing that I would know is that the construction of the roll is not like other sushi places in that it falls apart super easily, which makes it a bit harder to eat. Lobster Mac and Cheese - this dish was not too salty. The little crusting's on top make it really crispy. Lobster tastes well and tender. There's a good amount of cheese to where the cheese flavor is not overpowering. This makes the dish easier to eat the other mac & cheese that I've had in the past. Would highly recommend getting to share for the table! Chateau Mashed Potatoes - the dish had good flavor. It tastes super creamy. There are bits of potato skin that are left in which gives nice texture. Better than your typical mashed potato and would definitely also recommend getting to share for the table. Filet Mignon - cook well. The meat is very tender. Not too salty on the outside from the seasoning. Crab cake - low-key it reminds me of coleslaw. I'm not quite sure how to explain it, but it is a little bit of more sour side. THE VIP - this drink is made with Clementine vodka as well as fresh pineapples. It has a bit more of a strong, alcohol flavor, but still pretty fruity. Strawberry Hibiscus Cheesecake - The cake is not too sweet and the sauce drizzled is super good. The cream is light and the dish comes with a strawberry. Very fresh and delightful to eat. Tiramisu - Tastes so good since it's not too sweet. Slight taste of a coffee flavor and topped with a macaron and a lady finger. The top is crispy with the sugar. SERVICE Service is good. He was very patient with us and gave us recommendations for each section. They are also very quick to fill water. I came here from my 21st birthday and they give the cheesecake complementary. Overall, just very satisfied. They're quick to tend to our needs and very personable. VIBES Pretty low lighting, which just candles in the middle. Great appetizers like shrimp cocktail and their bread was amazing - soft and well-baked and hot enough so that butter melts on it. Their salads were also great. We've been loyal patrons of Del Frisco's since the days when Dee Lincoln owned the original location on Valley View--over 30 years ago. It was our go-to spot for entertaining clients and celebrating special occasions with my wife. The legendary "Cigar Bar" exuded classic charm, complemented by great music and a welcoming atmosphere. We were on a first-name basis with Dee, the chefs, and the sommelier. Fast forward to today, and unfortunately, the experience has changed significantly. We still enjoy a late afternoon dinner at the bar, but the service and quality no longer match what we once cherished. During our recent visit, we were joined by another couple for some bar appetizers and drinks. Despite ordering three appetizers and six beverages, we found ourselves repeatedly trying to get the staff's attention. The service was disappointingly slow, and the staff seemed overwhelmed. After spending over $350, we left feeling dissatisfied and let down. Given the superior food and service we've experienced at other Legacy West establishments for a fraction of the cost, Del Frisco's has regrettably fallen off our list. read more

The competition is pretty stiff for steak restaurants in DFW, so it's hard to stand out and easy for clients to nitpick. So yes, I am probably a bit more critical of steak restaurants because the my expectations have been set so high. Now, I will say that the service is always phenomenal, and for that I'd give Del Friscos five stars. However, the kitchen seemed to be having some trouble. Our entrees took almost 45 minutes to come out after the appetizers. There was a large wedding party on the second floor where we were but perhaps additional tables should not have been seated at that time since it seemed like the kitchen was overwhelmed. The salmon (which was an addition to the wedge salad) was not exceptional. I feel like it was too dry and flavorless. Our waitress kept checking in and letting us know the progress of the food, so I definitely don't blame her for any delays. The hostesses were lovely both before and after the meal. Overall, I'd come again for drinks, but maybe meander elsewhere for dinner. read more

Excellent meal and service! I was a bit worried about attending a business dinner here when I saw the reviews, but thankfully the experience surpassed those low expectations. We started our meal with the seafood tower and calamari. The calamari has a strong Thai flavor, which detracted a bit from the dish. The seafood tower with tuna tartar was outstanding. The seafood was fresh and the various shellfish pieces were full of meat, including the oysters. I also had the lobster bisque, which was perfectly creamy and flavorful. There was a lot of lobster pieces in the soup, which is lacking in this dish at many other restaurants. For my entree I had the ribeye with Gorgonzola fondue. The steak was perfectly cooked and the fondue was rich and creamy. It was one of the top steaks I have had in DFW. Sides dishes included mushrooms, broccolini and mashed potatoes. None of the side dishes stood out, but they didn't need to when the steak was perfect. I ended the night with the tiramisu crème brûlée. The dessert was full of flavor and unique, but I prefer more classic flavors to this version. Service was outstanding throughout the night from the bar to the servers in the dinning room. The only negative I would point out is that the pours were on the light side compared to other high end restaurants. Overall this was an excellent visit, and exactly what I expect from a high end steakhouse. read more

I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. Birthday girl got a private room and asked me to bring her speaker. When I arrived my hands were full and I asked if someone could take it up to her room as I did not want to cause a disruption in flow of her night. The hostess said she would ask one of the guys. Totally fair. However, I've worked in the service industry and urgency to meet the guests' needs is important in my perspective. Especially in such a beautiful establishment. The hostess had me wait for someone to help while she waited there also, not even relieving me from holding many things. This was definitely not that big of a deal just something I noticed about the service. Got to the private room, a very nice man escorted me up, however was implying he would not set up the speaker(aka plug it in or place on a counter) instead would show me where it's going. to me it seemed like a simple gesture but showed the staff is NOT willing to go above and beyond. Surprising for a guest who booked a private room. Our server was very stiff. It definitely felt routine and not like a unique experience in my opinion. Almost felt like a lunch room in a sense. Normally, any steakhouse that I've been to will name the wine brought out (I did not have a cocktail menu to see) but when he brought it didn't name the wine or offer for me to taste first. The salad was really good. The mashed potatoes tasted very bland unfortunately. I was hoping to ask for some butter or salt and it took about 45 minutes for me to get his attention again. At this point the steak is cold. The green beans provided were a bit greasy and lacked flavor. However, the taste of propane was very prominent. At one point the birthday girl was giving a speech and one of the servers came in and asked a girl a question(probably pertaining to a drink or something) I think this could have waited, given that it interrupted her speech and was really awkward. The room however, was beautiful. The entire restaurant was quite beautiful. I just haven't been to an upscale steakhouse that didn't feel over the top when it came to service. It was definitely not all bad but I am not sure that I would come back here. read more

The wife and I travel a lot so we like to experience different steak houses and experiences. So while in Dallas, we decided on the Del Frisco's double eagle. Made a reservation and when we arrived, we did not have to wait. The hosts were very welcoming and the ambiance was very nice and chill. It wasn't loud so we could discuss business and have a very nice time. Our server Alex was excellent. He was just attentive enough but not overbearing and just always on top of us. I ordered their hazelnut espresso martini. The first drink wasn't very impressive because it had a bunch of ice in it but I'm not a complainer so I just continued drinking it. But as I drank more of it, I realized my glass was chipped and cracked. Alex just happened to walk by and the manager walking behind him. I let them know. Not expecting anything. To be honest was gonna order a different drink. But they took the glass and came back with a beautifully made drink. So for me, no harm, no foul and I got another drink in them. No appetizers because I eat seafood and the wife doesn't and the one that wasn't seafood, I don't eat. So that was an easy decision. They brought out some of the best dinner rolls I have ever had. Soft, buttery and just enough crisp on them. Excellent. My wife and I had weight loss surgery so we share a lot of meals. We got their pork chop and I got a side of lobster and with a side of whipped potatoes. Pork chop was sooooooo good. Seasoned right and just cooked perfectly. The lobster was a little tough to me but the flavor and overall display was good. The whipped potatoes were very good as well. Buttery and just very nicely whipped. Overall, our experience was good. Will definitely come back. I would like to try their steak. And I also love it's a Landry's now and got to use my Landry's card for points.
