UPDATE: Last night has changed my perspective on Del Frisco's quality. While my order delivery was on the later half of the night, I would expect that a restaurant of this caliber wouldn't serve food that didn't meet certain quality standards. So when I dug into my serving curdled potatoes au gratin I was shocked. I called the restaurant to give them a heads up, as I previously rated them 5 stars. I asked to speak to the Manager on call...she replied, "Thank you, I will let the Chef know." That was all...

What an underwhelming start to restaurant week :( we were greeted by the host who had a really dismissive attitude and our server was promptly switched out after bringing us water, which we thought was a bit odd since no one said anything. It seems like we were judged as soon as we walked through the door and I should've listened to my gut when I asked my boyfriend if we should leave. Honestly, this was the worst short rib I've ever had! It was so tough and I could barely eat it, 95% of it was still on my plate. My boyfriend ordered his steak medium and it came out almost blue so it had to be sent back. For over $200, I would expect so much more from this place- especially when we've had outstanding service at many other fine dining establishments even without spending as much. It is super overpriced for what you get and we left feeling bummed that our experience was not up to par with the open table reviews at all. I wish I would've looked on here! I will say that the cheesecake was really good and probably my favorite part of the entire dinner. I would hop on over to Del Frisco's grille* any day over this spot.

Celebrated my husband's birthday last week and had Bradley as our server. We had a wonderful time and the service was amazing. The Del's salad is so good and a must when eating here to start your meal. The sea bass was so tasty and not fishy, a great portion with not too much rice. And the butter cake dessert was the perfect ending. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a nice booth facing the window and enjoyed people watching.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend for a celebratory dinner.

Celebrated my fiancés bday here. It was a nice experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely atmosphere![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Server was super friendly and attentive. The manager circled through often ensuring our satisfaction. The honey butter bread to start was phenomenal. Hot, fresh, flavorful. We ordered a prime ribeye, creamed spinach, mac and cheese, and del's jumbo lump crab cake. The star of the show here was the crab cake, which came with a creole sauce underneath that I thought was a perfect and unique accompaniment. The sides could use a little more flavor in my opinion, but it's nothing a little salt or cheese couldn't fix. For dessert, we finished with a butter cake. I'm always craving butter cake at steakhouses and most places don't get it right, however, this Del Friscos location did and it was so good! It was the perfect size too! There was a small bug that crawled up my plate and I didn't make a big deal of it, but our server informed the manager and she came over to apologize, which I appreciated.

Last week, we visited Del Frisco's Double Eagle with our friends to celebrate our double anniversaries. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance, creating a pleasant atmosphere for a special occasion.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, the food was good, and the service was attentive and professional. However, what left us disappointed was discovering that we were charged for condiments such as garlic sauce and chimichurri sauce for our steaks without being informed beforehand. We understand that restaurants may have different policies, but a restaurant of this caliber should either provide these accompaniments as part of the dining experience or clearly disclose any additional charges in advance. While we enjoyed the ambiance, food, and service, the unexpected condiment charges left a negative impression on what was supposed to be a memorable celebration. Unfortunately, because of this experience, we do not plan to return.

I had a great time at Del Frisco's last night thanks to the company and the service, but my experience with the food was very mixed. We ordered a bunch of things from the menu and I only really enjoyed a few items. Let's start with the good. The good: - Del's salad. I thought this was going to be a basic mixed green salad and ordered it to be healthy, but it was a really delicious salad and a generous portion. I especially loved the crispy sweet potato on top. - Warm butter cake. Holy crap. How do they get this to be so caramelized? I was mad that I was so full because I wanted to eat so much of this cake. Even my husband, who isn't a big cake person, really liked this and I think texture had a big part in it. - Calamari. Maybe slightly over-sauced but the flavors were good and I liked the departure from how fried calamari is usually served. - Mashed potatoes. This was my favorite side. It was seasoned really well and so buttery. Just ok: - Steak. I don't know if this is to leave room for people to add sauces but I found the steak under seasoned. I wasn't in love with it at the restaurant, and I added some salt when I had some of the leftovers at home and it was much better. - Lobster tail. We got a big one for the table and they served us all a bit each. It was just fine. I could taste the natural sweetness of my lobster piece but it tasted a tiny bit overcooked. I expected it to be more tender and buttery in texture. - Octopus (not photographed). I got a piece that was overcooked. My husband said the piece he had was good, so maybe I was just unlucky, but I expect a restaurant in this price range to be consistently good with something like this. - Dynamite shrimp. I found this to be over-sauced as well, and it could be crispier. I had it pretty quickly after it was brought to our table but it had already lost any semblance of crispiness. - Crab cake. Lots of crab and I liked the texture of the large crab meat pieces, but I would have liked some panko or something that makes it feel more like a crab cake than just a mound of crab meat. - Sorbet. Nothing too special. It was interesting to have lemon, mandarin, and raspberry as the flavors in February, but I guess February isn't known for a lot of seasonal produce. - Lobster mac and cheese. This was just ok for me. I saw big chunks of lobster which is great, but I could have done without. The not so good: - Raw oysters. These were some of the worst oysters I've ever had. Our (amazing) server said that they source oysters from the Northeast but these were more tasteless than some of the worst gulf oysters I have had. And they were shucked really poorly. I got a piece of the shell with every single oyster, and I had 6 (each time hoping for a better experience both with taste and the shucking and being disappointed over and over again). - Chilean sea bass. The other times I've had Chilean sea bass in my life, the fish had always been buttery soft. I ordered this dish expecting that texture and it felt like a completely different fish. I was very disappointed and I felt like the strong flavors on the plate were there to mask how subpar the fish is. - Surf and turf trio. I already mentioned that steak was underseasoned. The steak in this dish suffered from this as well and the lobster in this was not very good, especially compared to the other lobster we had for the table. - Broccolini. Del Frisco's should take a field trip down the street to Haywire and try their broccolini. If I go back, I would order the calamari, Del's salad, maybe the mashed potatoes, and the butter cake. Service was great the entire meal. Our server made sure we were very well taken care of.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Came here on a Saturday night around 8 ish and sat at the bar it wasn't too busy at all.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted immediately I had the prime ribeye and lobster Mac and cheese which was a shareable side, the steak was amazing and the side was really good. They made a really good non alcoholic strawberry lemon drop. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Only bad thing is the ceiling started leaking right above us wasn't even raining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Kathy N.

The fries were really good, but the vodka pasta was... not so good, there was a bitter taste to it. The Caesar salad was also pretty good. This is the girl dinner special. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is very nicely decorated though[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and the service was okay.

I recently went to Del Frisco's for drinks at the bar. The whiskey drinks had was very good. I would order it again. Apparently the bar has two menus. The first one we had was small & did not have much that was grabbing our attention. Another patron told us about the other menu. After that we got complimentary bread & ordered some filet sliders. The bread was a little dry but the sliders were VERY GOOD! The main bartender helping us was great. At some point there were many bartenders & they all kept checking on us. It felt like every couple minutes we were telling them we didn't need anything. I appreciate their attentiveness but it was a lot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The one suggestion to make the bar more comfortable would be to add hooks for purses.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I enjoyed visiting & look forward to going back in the future.

Japanese A5 Wagyu 3 oz Petite Cold Water Lob Tail

I have told so many people about this experience that I realized they needed to stop being lazy and just post it in yelp! I have to start with the incredible service. I received the first night. I went and sat at the bar. Misty, the bartender was equal parts, incredible hospitality, and just the right amount of familiarity to make an incredible bartender. I told her the things that I liked the sound of on the menu, and she helped me work my way through to the perfect meal. I had a 3 ounce A5 Wagyu, alongside a 4 ounce petite lobster tail, and a side of sautéed spinach. Every bite absolutely melted in my mouth. On top of the extraordinary service I received from Misty, Brad the GM came by to check on me and was just a very cool guy who clearly had a great handle on everything happening in the restaurant. On my way out Mikhail, another manager just took a brief moment to check in on how my experience was, and it just reinforces the hospitality that these guys are absolutely committed to. It was such an amazing experience that I took a couple of my team members back the next day, and we had an equally great time with all different dishes that our server helped us select for a family style dinner. If you have an opportunity to go to Del Frisco's in Plano, it absolutely deserves to be a destination.

We had a great time at our NYE dinner. The entire staff was well trained, professional, and friendly. Our reservation was for 5:00, when the restaurant opened, and we arrived at about 10-till. The building is beautiful and historic, but has no lobby or waiting area. Everyone was crammed in until they began seating at 5:00, but the hostesses seated everyone very quickly. Everything we are or drank was delicious and cooked perfectly . The menu is pricey for sure, but we knew that coming in. Everyone had a wonderful time and was stuffed with leftovers to take home.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere is great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was ok. The bread was not warm, I need my bread to be piping hot! The filet was more well and I asked for medium-well, but the potatoes were good!

    Seared Chilean Sea Bass

FOOD Bread - It has a little layer of sweet coating (honey butter) on the outside and flakes of seasalt on the top that enhance the flavor. Very soft and a little bit crispy on the outside. Shanghai Style Calamari - Some type of sweet and sour chili sauce that is yum. Calamari is crispy on the outside. It comes with bean sprouts. Tasty with the sweet flavor. Also has pickles and peppers. The dish usually comes with peanuts, but it was nice that they took that out for me since I have an allergy. Dynamite Shrimp - There's a sweet chili mayo sauce that complements the shrimp well. Little bit of a crispy breading layer on the outside. The dish has crispy, red cabbage as well. King Crab Rainbow Roll - It comes with Alaskan king crab inside which comes in generous portion. The seafood is fresh. The roll is a tad bit spicy from the little chili flakes. Quality ingredients overall and presentation is all right. The one thing that I would know is that the construction of the roll is not like other sushi places in that it falls apart super easily, which makes it a bit harder to eat. Lobster Mac and Cheese - this dish was not too salty. The little crusting's on top make it really crispy. Lobster tastes well and tender. There's a good amount of cheese to where the cheese flavor is not overpowering. This makes the dish easier to eat the other mac & cheese that I've had in the past. Would highly recommend getting to share for the table! Chateau Mashed Potatoes - the dish had good flavor. It tastes super creamy. There are bits of potato skin that are left in which gives nice texture. Better than your typical mashed potato and would definitely also recommend getting to share for the table. Filet Mignon - cook well. The meat is very tender. Not too salty on the outside from the seasoning. Crab cake - low-key it reminds me of coleslaw. I'm not quite sure how to explain it, but it is a little bit of more sour side. THE VIP - this drink is made with Clementine vodka as well as fresh pineapples. It has a bit more of a strong, alcohol flavor, but still pretty fruity. Strawberry Hibiscus Cheesecake - The cake is not too sweet and the sauce drizzled is super good. The cream is light and the dish comes with a strawberry. Very fresh and delightful to eat. Tiramisu - Tastes so good since it's not too sweet. Slight taste of a coffee flavor and topped with a macaron and a lady finger. The top is crispy with the sugar. SERVICE Service is good. He was very patient with us and gave us recommendations for each section. They are also very quick to fill water. I came here from my 21st birthday and they give the cheesecake complementary. Overall, just very satisfied. They're quick to tend to our needs and very personable. VIBES Pretty low lighting, which just candles in the middle. There's a lot of lighting from the windows which are pretty big. Seating consist of comfy chairs and booth seating. Lots of families.

We had a reservation, which is recommended because the restaurant was very busy on a Saturday night in May. We opted to sit on the patio because the weather was gorgeous. I am not sure if the patio is climate controlled in the summer or not. But on that night we were there, the weather was mild so it was very pleasant. They have happy hour on Saturdays so I started with an IPA on tap and the wife had a Prosecco, also for happy hour prices. This is a tapas restaurant so I will try to remember all that we had. Manchego cheese board: excellent. The crisps and jam were perfect with the cheese. Potato torilla: excellent. The flavors melded very well and it was very tasty. It's filling so keep that in mind. Ceviche de jalapeno: excellent. Not too spicy, the shrimp and seafood was fresh with no fishy smell. The plantains were cooked perfectly, not greasy. Brisket on crostini: excellent. Forget the name but they are a winner. Brisket is good quality and the flavors come together nicely. Chicken skewer: excellent. They smartly use chicken thighs so the meat is juicy and tender. Tuna tartare: good. It actually was my least favorite. The quality was very good but it did not have much flavor. I needed some heat, some acid, something to give it a kick. We were absolutely stuffed and did not try dessert. Our server Marcellus was excellent. Very helpful and pleasant throughout. He never disappeared for too long. Overall, we had a great meal and will undoubtedly return here again.

It was also yummy.

My husband ordered a poke bowl which he said tasted ok but there wasn't much in the way of fish, and my filet on my salad wasn't medium as requested; however the biggest issue was that my daughter was served a raw ground beef patty for loco moco, not medium or rare, but raw. You could smell raw ground beef. We struggled getting waitstaff's attention for quite awhile and both my husband and I made eye contact with the manager in the blue shirt wearing a headset. He looked our way, sent some one else in a tan shirt and walked away from the main dining room inside. We explained that the patty was raw. His response was dismissive with an explanation that it was always cooked medium, carried the plate away, even though I explained that it wasn't "medium". We waited a long time for a replacement. The replacement was delivered by someone from the kitchen and it was done, but was served with fresh white rice rather than fried rice and was missing the avocado requested. We had to wave someone once again to request avocado. Our waitress eventually returned, apologized, and gave us an appetizer comp card. Our bill showed the loco moco removed for "flavor" and then re-added to the bill. There are other better restaurant choices in the area, so I'd recommend skipping this one.

She was informative told me the entire history of the restaurant and has a true passion for what she does The food absolutely makes! This is literally transported me back to the oceanfront on the seashore. The best lobster I've had since the area! I loved that they actually had their proper migonette served with oysters that were chilled and properly shucked... I spent twice the amount of money, a big name and this almond pot defend and restaurant and teach all of them! Walking out the simple effective decorated restaurant really felt like I was gonna walk back out to the beach and feel spray hitting my face. Well, done! The crab stuffed sole had no flavor other than salt which even then could've used a bit more. The whipped potatoes had horseradish mixed into them. The flavor notes did not go together. I did try the sampler in which the shrimps tasted very fishy. The smoked salmon dip was ok and the tuna nacho was actually very tasty. The service was superior with the host seating us immediately and our server checking on us constantly. The ambiance is nothing fancy just some metal chairs and tables. I was honestly disappointed. I spent almost $100 for terrible food.

We tried a variety of things including two types of oysters, but I have to say this is my favorite fish and chips in the area. For the cost you get SO much (3 large pieces) of fish, fries and a few hush puppies. And it was nice and fluffy, so so good. Definitely my new favorite go-to place in Frisco for seafood. I feel this place doesn't get enough love! Look forward to going back!

We started with half a dozen raw oysters and they were fresh and delicious! We also ordered a dozen grilled oysters. They were okay, but nothing spectacular and probably not something we would order again. Hubby ordered the fish special that was on the board that day. I can't remember exactly which fish it was, but he said it was just okay. I ordered the snow crab with Cajun butter and unfortunately this was the biggest disappointment. The crab meat was extremely mushy and the texture was just not good at all. I tried several different legs from the cluster just to make sure it wasn't only one bad piece, but they were all the same, so I couldn't finish it. The corn that came with it also tasted old and had a strange sour taste, so I didn't eat that either. The Dragon Fruit Pineapple Mojito, however, was DELICIOUS! Definitely one of the highlights of the meal and I would absolutely order that again. One thing that was a little strange was the timing. Considering how slow it was when we were there, the food seemed to take a little longer than expected to come out, and my drinks took even longer. Overall, it was a mixed experience for us. The raw oysters and mojito were great, the grilled oysters and fish special were just okay, and unfortunately the snow crab entrée was a definite miss. I'm willing to give Anaya's another try and order something completely different if we happen to be in the area, but based on this visit, I wouldn't make a special trip back just to eat here.

One: because it was so close to my hotel but two.. mostly because it meant I could grab delicious seafood AND a sweet dessert somewhere else in the hall all in one trip without having to brave the heat again twice! I ordered the Connecticut lobster roll, which is served warm with melted garlic butter and chives on a toasted split-top bun. I paired it with a yummy side of french fries. The roll was so perfectly delicious and tasted amazingly fresh.. Im drooling just thinking about it. It was so fantastic and even better with a little squeeze of fresh lemon juice in each bite! I don't eat my seafood with butter (any seafood), so having that lemon on hand made it just right. I didn't care much for the pickles on that come on the side but I'm sure others might. The french fries were also the ultimate crispy accompaniment to round out the meal. The counter service staff wasn't super overly friendly, but the food itself was so great that I really can't complain--plus, in a fun, bustling food hall setup where you're just ordering at the counter and walking away, you really only need a quick transaction anyway. I'll definitely be back next time a lobster craving hits!
